Look! Guests! [Tomi/Scout/Takahiro]

It was a fair walk from the station, and Petermon had drawn a few looks, but nobody had stopped them the whole way to Takahiro's apartment building! It was big, definitely. He leads the way right into the building, and all the way up to the top floor! He takes the elevator of course. Are you kidding? More than one flight of stairs? No way, bro.
He pulls a key from his pocket and opens the door to a large, but simple apartment. A new TV is mounted on the wall of the sunken sitting area, with a kitchen and breakfast bar over to the side. Various doors around the room presumably lead to bedrooms. Music is coming from one of them, presumably Scout's. Petermon floats over to the couch and sits down, seemingly quite at home.
"R-right. Um. Welcome to my home," Takahiro bows, slowly, "Um. What would you like to eat? Can, I. Can I get you anything to drink?"

Shibuya is different than Kyoto, Tomi thought. This home is grand, comfy-looking and has everything one could ever need. How lucky it is to be Takahiro!
Where are my manners!! Tomomi immediately bowed, "Takahiro, thank you so much for your kindness. You've been so gracious, and I feel as if I could never be as nice as you have been to me today." Tomi isn't sure what city culture is like, but just to be sure he removes his shoes before walking any further.
Looking up at Takahiro, he wants to decline a drink, as the boy has given him more than he ever needed in one day. The dehydration kicked in hours ago, however, and something to drink couldn't be resisted. "Cold water would be great, thank you."
The sound of music from one room made Tomi very alert. "Is that your brother's room?" Tomomi pointed to source of the sound.
Demimeramon followed Petermon's form, and relaxed on the couch. He was beat from his first day alive. That couch was the golden ticket to recuperating.

"You've, um. You've been very nice," Takahiro comments, moving to get the boy some water, "You've made me feel useful, and...well. Liked. It doesn't happen often, outside of my family, so...thank you," D'aww. He brings the boy his water, and then moves back into the kitchen.
"Mm? Oh, yes, that's, um. Scout's room. Petermon, would you, uh. Would you mind telling him we have company, please?" Petermon gives a small nod, and walks off to the room, knocking twice and then letting himself in. Meanwhile, Takahiro continues to dig through cupboards, eventually setting up some pans. "You don't have any special dietry requirements, um, do you?" Of course Takahiro would be the one to ask that. Scout might've just hurled a steak and cooked it with his Spirit powers.
A boy, slightly older than Takahiro, emerges from the room with Petermon. He's a bit taller, and in slightly better shape, wearing a green hoodie with the hood pulled up. Something seems off about him. Damaged, maybe? Still, he offers a smile, and waves enthusiastically from where he is, not getting too close. Not yet. It's weirdly restrained for him. Behind him appears a reptile, perhaps four feet high, with black skin and shiny black training belts on his arms. That must be BlackAgumon.

Tomi receives the water graciously and nods. "Well, I can't imagine it. You saved my life in the first five minutes of meeting me." Tomi stands awkwardly in the room, expecting Scout to come out and introduce himself. "Oh, and as far as food goes, nothing that I know of. Bees are the only thing. So, please make whatever you like most."
Demimeramon perks up to the smell of a new digimon in the room. He immediately floats up and starts to swirl around the BlackAgumon. "Tomi, look! Another digimon friend! This is the best day ever!" Tomomi seriously hopes every day isn't the best day ever, but hey, enthusiasm is contagious.
Which isn't what he's getting from Scout. Not as much as his younger brother said, anyway. Was it possible his anxiety exaggerated Scout's personality? Regardless, Scout was a sight. Tomomi could tell that Scout was a little older, and definitely way more athletic than him. Yeah, he used the stairs and we used the elevator. Tomomi walks up to Scout and bows, "My name is Tomomi Nakamura, but please call me Tomi." There's a rush of confusion over Tomi, he was expecting this proud arrogant guy. He looks the part, but his body language is just not what he expected. Well, he isn't like Jouichirou, thank goodness. The anxiety hidden away in the back of Tomi's mind slowly retreated. "Your brother saved me from an angry digimon this afternoon, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have made it back home. He's...pretty great." Tomi says with an awkward smile on his face.

"Oh, good. I was planning to make Roast Bees," He shrugs, helplessly. Weird. "I'll just make some noodles then," Right, one of the few things he can actually make. He starts setting everything up as...Scout happens. Well, hopefully that isn't the last time he sees Tomi. Sometimes being the quiet brother sucks.
BlackAgumon snorts, "Sup, young one," He pats DemiMeramon on the...body, "Make yerself at home," He pads off to the couch to join Petermon. What a surreal apartment this is, suddenly.
Scout returns the bow in kind, "Scout Evans. It's nice to meet you, Tomi," There's a sense of great energy beneath the surface, as though he's restraining himself. Or maybe whatever 'broke' him is just...suppressing that natural enthusiasm. He smiles over in Takahiro's direction, his words making the younger of the two blush, "I already knew he was pretty great. But you saved someone? That's so cool, Little Hawk! Nice going," He seems...genuinely happy for his brother's accomplishments.
"Scouuuut. Don't call me that infront of people!"

"Noodles sound fantastic! Thank you." Tomi said with a great amount of happiness. Oh food! How did I go so long without it!
"Little...Hawk?" Tomi chuckles a little bit. Ah! Taka....
Tomi can see the uncomfortable look on Takahiro's face from hearing that twice. He gets a little embarrassed for speaking his mind, which doesnt happen often. "I'm sorry Takahiro, you probably hear that enough from your brother."
Even though Tomomi is similar to Takahiro, he feels a certain comfort coming from Scout. The self assured confident type always tended to make him feel good. "Uhm, Takahiro...can I help you prepare anything?" As much of a magnet Scout is, Tomi wants to be the opposite end of that magnet and return towards Takahiro.

Scout eyes the two for a moment, before taking a seat at the breakfast bar and turning his attention to his cellphone. He seems tired. Poor Kid. "Oh, um. H-here, just keep stirring this sauce," Takahiro nods to a pan, moving to cut some vegetables. BlackAgumon hoists himself onto a seat next to Scout, drumming his claws on the counter.
"We still on for this school thing, Other Kid?" the reptile asks, to which Takahiro nods, "I'll download you into my Digivice on monday, B. Thank you," There's more silence, again. Erk. Taka breaks it, though! "You can call me whatever you, um. Whatever you like, Tomi..." Scout gives a little smirk at that. Adorable.

Tomomi approaches the sauce, and looks at it with an unfamiliar gaze. Cooking is definitely not in his skill set. Even though he watched his mother cook countless times, his father had a strong ideology that men should never work in the kitchen, it "makes their hands weak during harvest." But this was the city, not rural Kyoto. This has to be hard to mess up, right? "I think I can do that for you." Tomi says with a light smile. This uncomfortable wording puts Tomomi in a slight panic. What if he thinks I'm going to destroy the sauce now??
This irrattional fear of the sauce transfers over to concern over Scout. He had this overwhelming notion that Scout was going to be a bouncy, overly-positive person. The opposite of himself and Takahiro. He seems...no maybe he's just tired. Being involved with the Digital World definitely appeared to be a tiring chore. Heck, it was his first day and Tomomi was ready to collapse. The intrigue of these two brothers is the sole reason he's still awake. The intrigue is probably showing, for as Tomomi stirs the sauce he keeps looking over at Scout. There's a lot on his mind...but who am I to ask? He doesn't know me.
At this point, the work of the day has gotten to Kami, as the little Demimeramon drifted off into a cute little nap.
Takahiro's words lifted Tomomi's spirit. He knows that he doesn't like Little Hawk at all. The fact that Takahiro said he can call him this can only make Tomomi smile. There's no way he's really okay with that. He looks over to Takahiro and says with a smile, "If it's okay, I'd like to call you Taka." Nicknames are always nice, it makes a person feel special. Tomomi wanted to make Takahiro feel special for sure, and for two reasons. First, and most importantly, Takahiro is special. He saved Tomomi, a debt he may never repay. But secondly, Takahiro doesn't know how special he is. Maybe it's because of Scout's light shining so brightly that no one had a chance to see the glow from Takahiro. Scout's light...
The curiosity returned to Tomomi. There has to be something wrong, the description doesn't match the person. It occurred to Tomomi that Takahiro is more intuitive than he is, and would have said something if he thought something was wrong. There's that small chance that Tomomi is intruding, and he has no right to know what's going on with them. But the curiosity was way too strong, as he opened his mouth, "Scout, we had an exciting day. How was yours?" This was polite enough, right? Not too nosy. Tomomi turns his head to Takahiro for approval in his light grey eyes. That wasn't out of line, right?

Clearly there were no similar ideologies in the Evans household. Takahiro seems to be capable enough in the kitchen, moving around with a practiced ease. Not that he'd ever accept that he was good at it, of course. It's a necessity, not a hobby! The younger boy gives Tomi a smile as he goes to stir the sauce, apparently having no irrational concerns like that. Or if he does, he's excellent at hiding them.
The older Evans brother seems to just be...quiet. He isn't really engaged with anyone, or anything. Even staring at his phone seems to just be a tool to make people think he isn't totally spaced out. Heck, it's still displaying the 'Lock' screen.
"Taka? Oh, um. S-sure! That's fine with me, Tomi," Wow, a full sentence without repeating words! Go, Takahiro! He seems more at ease than when he first met the older boy. Happier. Maybe he's just more confident in his home. Tomi is definitely making a good impression on him. He likes Takahiro for who he is, it seems. But... Well. There's something that the boy is keeping secret, seemingly something that's hurting him. And Takahiro's curious mind won't be able to rest until he finds out what it is, and how to help.
Looks like another midnight adventure with Petermon was in order... "My...day? Oh. Uh. It was alright I guess. Mostly...just listened to music," He smiles as he speaks. It seems like the kind of enthusiastic, happy smile that Takahiro described his brother as having. But...it also seems a little forced.

"Taka it is." Tomomi receives the cue, and also notices Takahiro's shoulders have moved slightly lower. It seems as if he's less tense. Tomomi can only feel joy in this, as the two truly are growing a friendship. This makes him feel..less dark. Maybe Taka can understand....One day...not today. I'd scare him away. Of course, he doesn't have the heart of a murderer or a villain...there's just something wrong with him. There aren't even words to make it seem human. Maybe it is as bad as being a murderer.
Tomomi's eyes have some dark blue swirling around, as he visibly drifts off into the world of his anxiety and self-loathing, long enough to realize this might make Takahiro and Scout notice, so he tries to broaden Scout's conversation. "Oh? What's your favorite band?" It felt as if Scout had no interest in talking to Tomomi, like when an adult tries to hard to force a conversation with their angst-ridden teenager. Few word responses meant get away, but Tomomi's curiosity took control.

Not human. The irony would've been palpable, had those words said outloud. A dinosaur, a story book character, and a little flame demon were currently kicking around the apartment, along with a boy who can...or could, when he still had his D-Scanner, change into monsters on a daily basis.
Takahiro's already putting things together in his head. Right. Tomomi Nakamura. There can't be too many people in the area he's from with that name. He can probably make some decent headway if he and Petermon leave right after they make sure Tomi's alright that night. Scout looks up again. Tomi's talking to him again. Right. Come on, put that self-loathing and fear out of your head, Scout. Best foot forward, hm? His smile seems a little less forced this time. "Oh, well. I don't really have a favorite as such, I guess. I've been listening to a lot of 'Man With A Mission' and 'Oral Cigarettes' lately," Of course you have. "How about you, Toooomi?"

Did he hear that right? Twooo-me? How did he come up with that? Had he misheard his introduction? That just...struck Tomomi wrong. How to fix the way Scout pronounces his name....He can't be rude. Tomomi is a guest at Takahiro and Scout's home. Well, he can correct him while answering his question.
The question of music was always a tricky one for Tomomi. Temple music was soothing, but that's a whole other subject. Scout liked modern music, and as much as Tomomi loved the meditation music, he didn't think Scout would like that answer. He likes J-rock, which Tomomi only truly discovered weeks ago. Modern music was hard to come by in the Nakamura household He never had proper schooling, nor a lot of friends. Just Juichirou. But Juichirou did introduce him to a few bands. Bands he actually fell in love with. Most particularly...
"High and Mighty Color, for sure. On a lighter side, I'm a big fan of UVERworld. I don't mean to be brash, but you can pronounce my name as 'Toh-me.'" He said with a childish smile. That sounds like good choices. Juichirou made him listen to XYZ almost every day, and forced him to sing, Engrish and all. But Endscape by UVERworld just held a place in his heart no song ever could. "UVERworld makes me feel like even though life is hard sometimes, you can get through just about anything." He wanted to get Scout to lighten up a little bit, he seemed dismal. But he couldn't forget about Takahiro, not for a moment.
"Taka-kun, what kind of music do you like?" Tomomi inquired with a delicate smile. He really hoped this is something they can share. Music taste is important. And Tomomi could always expand his music library.

Scout offers a little grin at that, "I know. I was just teasing, Tomi. I like High and Mighty Color, but I don't think I've ever heard UVERworld..." Hm. Something to rectify, then, clearly! He meets Tomi''s gaze as speaks about being able to get through just about anything. There's a hollowness there, as though he isn't quite sure of that. "You're probably right! It just takes the right attitude, yeah?" Scout gives a playful laugh, rather than a teasing one. So why doesn't he sound like he believes his own words?
Takahiro looks up again, caught off-guard as the conversation swings back to him again, "Oh, uh. I've, uh. I've listened to UVERworld. They're pretty, um. Pretty good. I listen to a lot of Sekai No Owari, and, uh,"
Scout perks up again, "Tell him about your 'guilty indulgence'," He knows it's nothing serious, but Takahiro is so easy to embarass! Indeed, the junior's cheeks tinge pink again as he answers, "I, um. Listen to a lot of Bon Jovi stuff as well. I...Uh. I learned about all that stuff when I was learning English when I was...when I was learning English as a child,"

Tomomi blushes immediately, How did I not notice he was teasing! Now I look foolish...That's okay, just ignore it and keep talking music, Tomomi. There is certainly a failure to be noticed in this conversation. Tomomi tried to cheer up Scout and it he's just trying to get through the words. Yes he's definitely going through the motions with Tomomi. Just keep chatting.
Takahiro is...well normal. Afraid of his interests being the wrong ones. Well, Tomomi likes Sekai No Owari, so that's good. But what is Bon Jovi? Is it a person, a group of chain smoking teens...Classical music? Takahiro is definitely the type to listen to classical music. After staring at Takahiro for what seemed like an eternity, he blinks slowly.
"Bon...Jovi?" It becomes very apparent to both Scout and Takahiro that Tomomi has never listened to Western Music. "You'd have to introduce them to me. I've...never really been introduced to Western music at all. But if Taka-kun likes it, it has to be good!" Tomomi smiles brightly, growing increasingly sure that Takahiro has little to no flaws as a person.

"Oh, um. W-well, Scout and I are half-American. And our dad's Japanese isn't great, so. I learned to, uh. I learned to speak English when I was young. And dad taught me about, uh. Our dad taught me about Western Music. Maybe...Maybe I could show you, sometime?" He offers, hesitantly. He's worried his music tastes might be frowned upon!
Scout tries to push himself to talk further, "My Little Hawk, the linguist. He's very good with other languages. So, uh. You're a Tamer, huh? Like, with a partner and everything? Or is DemiMeramon just a bud, like B?" He nudges the BlackAgumon. "Pretty new to all this stuff, too?" At least he crammed a compliment for Takahiro in there.
Takahiro glances back at him, and then to BlackAgumon. Talking about Digimon. This should be interesting. Heck, he's barely mentioned any of it at all, since he got back from the desert. And he only knew what'd happened because BlackAgumon had told everyone, when Scout was sleeping. Still, maybe this is...progress?
