No Crying! Dinner Party Pt. 2! (Takahiro/Scout) (Done)

“Oh, um. N-no, water is fine, thanks,” Takahiro offers a smile, and sips from the glass, before offering another small bow, despite still sitting, “Th-thank you for the meal. It was truly delicious, um. Delicious,”
D'aww. That's so sweet of him--
There's a loud shattering sound as Scout drops his glass on the floor, no doubt sending water everywhere. He bites his lip to keep from cursing, a look of absolute terror present on his face for a second or two, before he manages to wipe it away. So much for a nice quiet dinner... “I'm...oh. I'm so sorry!” He immediately apologies to Emiko, “My hand just...”
Takahiro just stares at his brother. It's weird to see Scout do anything that might be regarded as clumsy. Hand spasm maybe? Weird! He has no idea that Scout, again, witnessed something menacing and skeletal moving in the reflection he was casting on the glass.
“I'm so sorry, um. Let me help you clean it up...”

The food was good. At least Tomomi thought so, for sure. He traded some sushi pieces with Ichirou to have more of the Tamagoyaki. Sweet egg is his favorite! "Emi-chan, you're the best hostess! Thank you very much!"
Emiko was so happy that the boys liked her cooking. She was going to thank them for enjoying the meal when the crash is heard. Tomomi immediately rushes out of his seat and taps his hand on Scouts shoulder. Everytime he touches Scout he is surprised by how much muscle is on a frame so small! "It's okay, Scout. Just sit and relax, I'll take care of it."
Emiko dashes into the kitchen to get a rag to pick up all the water spilled. Tomomi starts to pick up the pieces of glass when feels a pain in his hand. "Ouch!" Tomomi says as he looks at his hand. A big piece got stuck in his skin. He started to bleed pretty bad. "Emi-chan, can you grab a rag for me? The glass nicked me." That stings.
Emiko dashed back into the room with two rags and a new cup of water for Scout. Ichirou gets out of his seat and orders Tomomi to sit there, while he removes the glass and treats the wound. Big brothers...that's what they do, right? Even when you're older, they still have to patch you up. "I thought it was clumsy to drop a glass...but to be impaled by a non moving glass shard...Tomi-chan you are not graceful at all!" He laughs. Ichirou definitely wanted the room to cheer up. He was the only one allowed to be grumpy in his home. He slowly pulls the glass out of Tomomi's hand as Tomomi whimpers lightly. Don't look weak in front of them, Tomomi. Tomomi tries to force a smile as he looks over at Scout and Takahiro. Ichirou finishes up by placing some rubbing alcohol and a bandage on the wound, as Emiko finishes cleaning up the floor.
Well, this escalted quickly.

Scout stares off with a scowl on his face for a few moments, before shaking out of it. He gets off his chair and goes to crouch next to Tomomi, and make sure his hand is alright, “Oh. Man, I'm sorry. Totally my fault, Tomi,” He grimaces, guilt quickly overcoming his own fear. He puts an arm around Tomomi's shoulder, and then gives him a full-on hug once Ichirou finishes bandaging it. Well, with how often Scout touches people, Tomi will at least stop being surprised by Scout's wiry muscle before too long.
When Emiko goes to put the glass and such in the trash, Takahiro follows her, and speaks in a low voice, “I'm sorry. I'll, um. I'll replace what he broke. Please forgive Scout,” He gives a small bow, “He's been going though, um. He's going through a rough patch. Depression. Anxiety,” He manages to keep how much it upsets him out of his voice, if nothing else.
It had all started so well, too. Scout had flipped over a couch, and been his old, charming self. Like someone turned back the clock to two weeks ago. And then it all came crashing down. Naturally, this means it's time for another Petermon-Takahiro Investigation Special.
Y'know. After dinner and such.

Tomomi doesn't let Scout pull away from the hug. He holds him closer and tighter than he normally would ever hug someone. "It was nothing, Scout. You're an amazing person...don't let a piece of glass make you think otherwise." He pulls away and raises his hand, "If it scars, there will be no way I'll ever forget you two!" He smiles brightly. Man that talk with Takahiro this afternoon really made him brighter.
Emiko listens to Takahiro's apology and puts her hand on his shoulder, "Takahiro, if a broken glass is the largest of my worries tonight, then it was a complete success. Having three teenagers confined in a room for a few hours with only one broken glass is probably a world record, wouldn't you think?" She says with a light-hearted smile. Rest easy, boys. Tomomi's brother and sister-in-law are not his parents. Good thing too. The length of that hug would have caused a serious problem...

Scout gives a little smile, “Oh, come on. Don't make me responsible for scarring. Besides, why would you forget us? We're certainly not going anywhere, and neither are you,” He gives a much wider smile. Oh, good. He's decided. And when Scout Evans decides on a course of action, he'll recklessly charge into any obstacles to make sure he achieves his goal.
Takahiro smiles, “Th-thank you for being understanding. Tomi-Sama is lucky to have a, uh. To have a sister-in-law as kind as you are,” D'aww. He's not quite the charmer that Scout is, but, he means every work. The hug might've not caused the problem, it would've been Petermon forcing his way out of the Digivice to stare down anyone who dared to touch his Tamer, or the other boys.

Tomomi sees that Scout is back to warm, so he decides to get playful, "Well, just in case you accidentally knock over a bookshelf on me and I get amnesia, I never know what you'll climb on next." He laughs hard, and gives Scout a light punch on his bicep. That's what the boys back home would call a "bro-punch." Ichirou starts to cackle at this joke, "He can flip over couches with ease though! That makes him more graceful than you, Tomomi!" He can't control his laughter at this point.
Emiko smiles widely, "As he is just as lucky to have a loving friend like you." Her words were bright, full of energy and...suspicion? Did she know how Tomomi felt about Takahiro? Emiko was well aware of the world around her. The only reason Tomomi would run away was if he was caught doing what he was so afraid of his family discovering. "Takahiro...would you and your brother be able to take care of Tomi-chan when we can't? His parents are...different. I think you and Scout are able to make him realize who he is, and be happy about it for a change." Yeah, Emiko read the situation like it was out of a textbook.

Scout snorts, “Uh huh. I think it's way more likely you'll just fall down a utility hole in the street, and that'll be the last we see of you,” He returns the light tap, sticking his tongue out in a good-natured way. Quite an interesting look he gives the boy though. The same kind that Tomomi gives Takahiro, perhaps? Erk.
Takahiro nods in response to Emiko's question, “Of course. I think we can, um. I think we can help him with any problems he might have. And like, uh. Like my brother said, he's always welcome at our house, for as long as he likes,” He gives her a look through his glasses that screams...uh. Understanding. Screaming understanding. “'Different' isn't, um. It's not the word I'd've used, ma'am. But don't, uh. Don't worry, Scout and I have no intention of letting anything happen to him. Nor do the rest of my family,”

Tomomi smiles lightly at Scout's tease. He really is funny, Tomomi thinks to himself. He then looks up into Scout's eyes. The look he gives him causes him to instantly look away, still smiling of course. What was that about?
Emiko just smiles as Takahiro talks. She is glad that by some act of fate Tomomi ran into these two. She gives the boy a light hug in gratitude, "Thank you Takahiro."
Tomomi calls over, "Hey Takahiro, do you want to play some video games with us? Scout apparently thinks he can beat me in Super Smash Brothers!" He pats the seat on the couch next to him, controller in hand, with an innocent bright smile.
"Go, enjoy yourself. We can talk pleasantries all night." Emiko giggles. She might as well have thrown him into Tomomi's arms.

Scout snorts, “Oh right, I must've missed when I said that. But also I can definitely kick your butt, Tomi,” He makes sure to sit on the other side of Tomi. A little...closer than last time. Oooh. Or not.
Takahiro gives Emiko a smile, and then proceeds to sit next to Tomomi, on the other side from his brother. Ah. Jammed between them again. Poor kid. “I'm, uh. S-sure you can beat my brother, Tomi-Sama,” he encourages. Well, looks like he's chosen a side.
Huh. Is there a bizarre air of competition between the two?
Uh-oh.

Tomomi doesn't really know how to handle Scout's sudden burst of affection. Yesterday he was so distant, and today...well today he couldn't get any closer if he tried! This makes Tomomi happy, but confused. He looks over to Takahiro as he encourages Tomomi. He exchanges a light smile with Takahiro. Tomomi makes himself comfortable to get into game playing mode. He leans forward and moves his legs out. Well this is interesting. His thigh is rubbing against Scout's, and his other leg and foot are up against Takahiro's. Well, that's one way to combat the double threat of two brothers completing for attention.
Tomomi, comes up with a brilliant idea that he will instantly regret, "Want to make any bets, Scout? Be careful though, I'm one of the best players in Kyoto." This is one of the few things Tomomi could brag about. He actually was second place in the regional championship. This made him confident he can get Scout to lose a bet pretty quickly.

“Oh, really? I didn't even know they had electricity to play video games out in Hicksville,” Scout grins. He's...competent, but probably nowhere near on Tomomi's level! Still, there's nothing wrong with some good-natured teasing. He gives the boy's leg a nudge with his own. Oh, right. He's some kind of contact junkie, “I dunno. If you can beat me, I'll do whatever you want,” he shrugs.
You may come to regret that, Scout.
Takahiro laughs quietly, quite happy to just sit and watch the other two play for now. Besides. Scout made a ridiculous wager! And not for the first time. Eventually it'll get him in trouble...

Tomomi hears that proposition, and turns to Scout. His heart beats kind of fast hearing that. He looks at Scout up and down, and presses his leg harder against Scout, "Are you sure that's wise?" Tomomi still had confidence that he could beat Scout in Smash Bros. He's beaten people way older than Scout. Still...anything he wanted? What does that even encompass? His mind ran wild. "Actually, I bet the same, Scout. You're on."
The console turned on and the character selection screen came on. "I play tournament style. Three lives, Eight minutes, no items, no pausing." There was no hesitation when Tomomi picked Ike.

Scout presses his leg right back! What the heck is going on?! He grins, however, “Fine, let's go!” Scout picks...of course he does. Right for Link. Why would he go for anyone else? He's...pretty sure he's going to lose (and in fact, he almost certainly will), but at least he's having fun, right?
Well, Takahiro certainly thinks that's all that matters. Who cares if one of them has to do something a bit silly? It's all in good fun. And none of them are going to be too stupid about it. Infront of adults, at least. ...He hopes.

The match lasts maybe a minute and a half at best. Despite Scout's best button matching, he couldn't possibly prepare for the onslaught of Ike and Tomomi. The writer would describe it...but the only word that matches is massacre.
Tomomi giggles as he puts the controller down on the table, and as he leans back, runs his hand across the thigh that was pinned against his. Maybe he's getting too comfortable. Remember there are adults here...and Takahiro.
Oh boy this is getting confusing for poor Tomomi. He looks at Takahiro and passes him the controller, "You should play, it's obvious my power is too great for Scout." He boasts in a fun teasing manner.

"Okay, okay. You win. What do I have to do?" Scout pouts a little, but seems to be taking it all in his stride. He raises an eyebrow at the hand on his leg though, and gives Tomomi a questioning look. One that says he's not going away without some kind of answer!
Takahiro flushes pink, somewhat, “Uh. N-no thanks. I'm, uh. I'm not very good at video games. Scout always kicks my butt,” It's true. He's awful, “M-maybe I'll practice for a little while...” He goes to a CPU match to warmup. No escape now, Tomomi, from that look Scout's giving you. Hey, if he does it for long enough, Ichirou might notice!
