"Is... is that *ing Godzilla?"
These were the words that the stick-like Nikumo said as she lounged on her couch in her apartment living room with her two partners by her side. It was supposed to be just a lazy sunday... a break from the stress of the Digital World and her role as a tamer. Just a day to relax and maybe watch some anime... reminisce about a time where her life wasn't overtaken by a world of talking digital lifeforms. Of course it had to be Godzilla to ruin her day.
On the news channel, it showed live video feed of the head of a giant lizard peering out of the water... one that looked basically identical to the famous kaiju himself. It was slowly moving through the water, heading towards the direction of the Tokyo shoreline. The government was calling for a state of national emergency, urging all citizens of Tokyo and surrounding areas to flee as soon as possible. Nikumo almost found it hard to believe that this was real... but after having seen so much weird shit in the Digital World, she noted it with minor curiosity.
The Chromiamon had no idea what her tamer just said. Godzilla? Was this something she was supposed to know, but failed to learn about? God... sometimes the human world was stranger than the Digital World. "Gesundheit. But seriously... Pardon? Is this someone who we should know?" Yvonne would ask, unsure of what think of about the situation at hand.
"Yeah... big fictional monster. Basically the poster child of Kaiju. Kind of a big deal." The girl calmly noted, her eyes glued on the television screen. She shook her head briefly, not sure of what to say at the moment. God... every goddamn day. It was one headache after another. She really was never going to get some rest, was she? "I swear... every time I think it can't be any weirder... It just goes further down the rabbit hole."
"He's big... is he like a Digimon?" The DexDorugamon who was sitting besides the couch noted with great curiosity. Was he a Digimon? She thought Nikky said that human animals never really grew to be big... but this guy looked like he was gigantic. Bigger than any Digimon she's seen before... Guess Nikky was wrong for once.
"I highly doubt... that thing is absolutely hideous. Too dull and bland to even qualify as one." Yvonne dully noted. All this thing had going for it was it's size, but it certainly was anything but flashy. She glanced at Nikumo, intrigued how the girl was doing a good job at keeping her cool. She still remembered how they initially met... with how the girl basically had a heart attack at that time. There was certainly a difference with how the 19 year old act between then and now. "You are acting AWFULLY calm for something like this."
Don't look at me, I've seen so much shit since we've met that it's honestly difficult for me to be surprised anymore by this sort of stuff." Nikumo grumbled, her eyes still drifting towards the news. "Still... I can't believe it... Godzilla is actually real... why is he even here?" She asked aloud. One thing she knew about Godzilla was that he was more than not a neutral force that just happened to save the world from something bigger, generally another kaiju like King Ghidorah. Obviously, that was fictional... but it still made her curious as to not only why this guy was here now, but how it's existence had gone unnoticed. Like, Digimon had an entire dimension to themselves... but what did Godzilla have? Like seriously...
"Well... why don't you go ASK HIM. You obviously seem to be his fangirl for some god forsaken reason!" The carbuncle Digimon aggressively responded, a bit annoyed at the situation. Knowing their goddamn standards, they were probably going to have to go and stop him. Guh. She'd have rathered they not, but it looks like it was going to be the case. "You know, if we just leave that thing here, he's bound to go and destroy the city. A fatass like him will be destroying things just by WALKING."
"That's terrible! Where will all the humans live if Tokyo gets crushed?" The undead one of the twin sisters exclaimed, terrified at such a thought. Humans were super weak and pathetic without Digimon... so how were they going to stop Godzilla if they did not help?!
Nikumo blankly stared at the television screen... idly wondering if anyone was going to come. Anyone that could be able to actually help... "... Where are they?"
"What? Are you expecting someone?" Yvonne asked, her eyebrow raised.
"The other Tamers... Spirit Wielders... hell, even Xros Generals. Some goodie two-shoes to take care of it before us." Nikumo would comment. She... she wasn't a good person. Like she wasn't a hero. Heroes go and get themselves killed or turn themselves into Martyrs. She had no doubt that they COULD handle this... but there was always risks involved. She'd rather someone else bite the bullet for them if possible.
"That's a not a nice thing to do though Nikky... alot of people could get hurt if he gets to the city!" Valerie was quick to panic. She didn't want the human city to get destroyed! Like it wasn't fair to any of them, they couldn't defend themselves! If this were Godzilla invading a Digimon city, it'd be a different story... but how many Digimon were there available to protect the city right now?
"You know, Valerie does have a point. Alot of senseless loss of life could happen if that thing gets to the shore and into the city. I can understand that it would a bother to do it ourselves... but what if someone does NOT come to the call?" Yvonne calmly noted as well. It'd risk the world learning about Digimon... but perhaps under the guise of this big lizard attempting to reach the city it wouldn't matter? Either way, this was not something they could be laissez faire about.
"Yeah... I suppose your right. I doubt any form of military could leave a scratch on that guy. Just wish that this wasn't our problem." Nikumo began debate on how they were going to handle this little situation here. There were alot of variables that could go wrong, so eliminating the possibilities was important. They didn't have too much time to just stand here, as the behemoth was still approaching the shore as they spoke. They could NOT let him get there... that was a big priority for them. "The first thing I kind of want to say... we can't let him get to the city. If we actually do fight him, alot of buildings and people could get hurt. The government evacuating people can only help so much."
"But when is the part when we crush him?" The BlackKudamon asked in confusion, not sure of how they WERE supposed to stop this guy. Like it was obvious they weren't going to be able to just talk to him to get him to leave. If this guy wasn't a Digimon, then one good blast from like one of their Mega level forms should do the trick... right?
"No direct fighting. If Godzilla so much as JUMPS, half of Tokyo gets flooded from the water he's in." The girl was quick to point out. It was simple physics that was coming to the rescue. They needed to minimize as much damage as possible. If they can manage to take out the kaiju without causing him to create any giant waves, the city probably would be back in shape in just a few days. If they let him make a wave though... that time could be extended to weeks. Besides... she'd have rather preferred to not have her homecity demolished. She had alot of memories here that she'd prefer to keep.
"So... you expect to try and subdue this beast in a manner that will prevent it from causing any additional damage beyond the flooding that is already happening?"
The girl nodded. Perhaps for once, watching all the Godzilla movies actually may prove to be helpful... "Yeah. Trust me, if there is one thing I can say about Godzilla... is that anything that involves fighting him tends to leave a big mess behind."
"Lovely." The carbuncle sarcastically groaned. Well... any plan was better than just going guns ablazing. "So... any ideas?"
Takeishi did not even want to be here. He practically was about to pee his pants on the helicopter hovering above the ocean, miles away from their target. This was all just a bad time today... like it wasn't everyday that FREAKING GODZILLA decided to show up. They were high enough in the sky that they were out of its reach... but dear god, this news reporter was terrified as hell. This was going to be like a real-life kaiju movie... and Japan was actually going to be destroyed if the hulking lizard kept going!
Keeping his camera reeled, it jittering occasionally out of fear, the young black-haired new reporter kept it beamed on the overgrown lizard as it slowly, but surely crept closer to the shore, half it's body sticking out of the water. It merely moving was already flooding part of the city... He gulped slightly. What did it even want? Why did it have to happen here? More importantly... what will it do after its done trashing the place?! Will it move on? Or... Takeishi gulped. He didn't want to think about it.
Suddenly, a cataclysmic sound screeched... like the sound of thunder. The man couldn't help but jump, he almost losing focus on Godzilla. In the sky, what looked like the entire a giant void just opened, it almost tearing apart from the seams right by the giant reptile. The man dropped his camera at the sight of the black hole that was now in view, it falling out of the helicopter.
Yep, there went his pants.
To his utter shock and horror, Godzilla seemed to stop, it screeching angrily at the black void in front of it. However, before it could even do anything, the void suddenly stretched out, it enveloping the kaiju like a giant blanket of darkness. The screeches began to die out, the waters rippling violently for awhile before dissipating entirely. In a matter of seconds, the void began to vanish... taking the initial scoop of the day with it. Without the giant reptile that was wading through it, the waters were finally starting to calm down, the waves that were hitting the shoreline becoming weaker and weaker.
Taikeishi... well... he had no idea what just happened. His boss was going to kill him for dropping the camera into the ocean, but he didn't care... Godzilla was no longer there! Internally, he was jumping for joy, he smiling weakly as he scooched further back into the helicoper, sighing in relief. Well... least Tokyo wasn't going to get completely demolished. For a brief moment he peered back out of the helicopter... his eyes widening at a strange sight off in the distance. A strange gray and bronze shade floated in the air, the man almost for a moment swearing he could see two... dragon-looking heads. Sadly, the shadow seemed to suddenly rip a much smaller black hole in the air with a claw-like hand, they vanishing into thin air.
And just like that... for many of the people in Japan today, a potential disaster was averted. For all they knew, they were saved by a miracle.
The Sea of Blood was bubbling violently, it not sure what to make of the meal that had just fell into it's waters. It was angry in that it could not dissolve it like many of its previous meals, but it's wails of despair as it sank into the abyss gave it a lovely taste.
Floating high above it's waters, a ZeedMilleniummon stared downward into the dark abyss, their work mostly done here. One half of the Mega level had to give credit to their Tamer's brilliant plan. If they had fought the giant reptile like normal back in the real world... it would have been a disaster for Tokyo. As anti-climatic as it was to dump a cultural icon unceremoniously into an alternate dimension's ocean, but it certainly was effective.
The grey head noted how the Sea of Blood failed to delete the reptile... so that thing was not even a Digimon. Pathetic really. Oh well... its not like it was going to get out of the Sea of Blood anytime soon. Not to mention that it would probably stand no chance to other Digimon. Either way, their problem was over for the most part.
"Man. That really wa a lame way to kill something." The bronze head sighed, still a bit disappointed that this was the outcome of this encounter. She was hoping to go out into an all-out fight... not just drown the thing. Valerie wanted to challenge herself always... so ending this via such a dirty way was a bit of a letdown.
"Does it truly matter at this point? Our actions saved for the most part the city. Some idiots would have just tried to destroy the beast outright... and have risked killing thousands and leaving Tokyo decimated. What separates us Digimon from beast is that we can think." Yvonne, the gray head of the Wicked God Digimon would comment. This Godzilla was nothing more but an animal. An overgrown animal whose existence was a threat. Putting it out of its misery was the best solution, there being no doubt in her mind.
The younger half of the ZeedMillenium gave a sigh. She really was incapable of arguing against her sister's reasoning. It was after all Nikky's plan all along... so it had to have had some merit. "Let's go back home... I just want to go eat something. Maybe we can get some fast food?"
"More than half of the city evacuated Valerie. That won't be an option for at least a few days." Yvonne would grumble, she ripping another hole between the two dimensions.
Valerie would scream in horror. Yvonne sighed. What a waste of her time this has been.
