Clarification (Emi/Scout)

Emiko whipped out her phone and texted Scout on her way into the digital world:
Going in to see some of the cities. Maybe they'll have some fun ingredients for another dinner party!
Emiko wandered around the town looking at all the shops. They actually did have nice things! Maybe she should get food. Then again, that wasn't her intention. Tomomi came home really upset the other day, and wouldn't say what was wrong. She had a good feeling it was Scout related.
After dinner and "mysteriously" eating the leftovers in Tomomi's room, Emiko sat him down. So it was Scout. Darn, Tomomi seems hurt. Even though he said it was a stupid reason and he was wrong, Scout's words upset the boy. She needed to do her sisterly duty and get these two back on the right track. Oh, teenage years! When you can blow up over just about anything!
After about twenty minutes of walking around, Emiko started to walk to the north entrance and texted Scout again:
I need help! North of Rustport, strong Digimon hurting little ones! I can't fight it alone!
That should do the trick.

Do cellphones even work in the Digital World? Nope, probably not. And even so, Scout can't check his own phone when he's in a transformed state. It's almost completely by accident that he runs into Emiko again. As OmegaShoutmon, of course. He glides down to land right next to her, close to seven feet in height.
"Emiko, it's Scout," He announces, voice sounding a little strained, as though he spends all day yelling. There's a guitar squeal that accompanies his greeting. "Shopping?"

That was fast! Emiko stiffens up at this new form. It's....bright. Emiko looks at him kind of funny as he asks the question...Clearly he didn't get the text. Well, there goes the working cell phone theory. Maybe that's why Ichirou never seems to call when she's out here.
Emiko smiles at the boy/digimon, "Hi Scout! Well, to be honest...I was looking for you. Do you have some time to talk, as yourself?" Emiko knew one's personality was a little different when they spirit evolved, which is nice at times. Not for trying to fix two teenage boy's relationship issues.

"...I suppose so," There's another guitar squeal as he degenerates into his human form with a sparkle of golden energy. He looks more-or-less the same, although there are a few band-aids on his face, and some light bandaging on his arm. Mostly small cuts and light burns, it seems. Pssh. That kid and his adventures, hm?
"What's up?" He offers his usual cheerful smile.

Emiko, overridden with maternal hormones, rushes to Scout and inspects his face. "What happened, Scout?" She wonders if Tomomi knows that Scout was hurt. Tomomi....that's right. That's why she's here. Emiko walks over to a bench, and motions Scout to sit with her. She leads the conversation,
"Well, I'm not good at beating around the bush. I haven't seen you and Tomi-chan together in quite a while, and Tomi-chan has been either locked up in his room or going to the Digital World. He says he's going to your place, but I know he's lying." Tomomi has this weird lip quiver when he lies to someone's face that Emiko learned about very early on. Emiko puts her hand on Scout's back, "What's going on with you two?" Emiko offers a light smile at Scout, she's clearly not angry with him, just wants to know what's wrong and how Tomomi can fix it.

“Oh, nothing, just a fight. A bully was picking on some baby Digimon, so I stepped in to help them,” Scout offers another smile, seemingly nonplussed about his injuries. They were worth it, after all, and he'll be fine in a couple of weeks!
He sits and listens to Emiko speak, and then...shrugs, “He thinks that getting stronger means being powerful enough to delete Digimon, even when he's the one starting the fight. I disagree. I think being strong means having the power to defend yourself and others, and knowing when not to use it. He started a fight with someone, and when I turned into OmegaShoutmon, the overwhelming confdience he gives me...well, I voiced that opinion. I regret that it came out the way it did, but not that it did. Gaining power for the sake of attacking others isn't real strength. It's being a bully. I don't like bullies,”
He continues, "Not that I'm saying he's a bully, he's just...misguided. And I'm struggling to deal with all the conflict he's bringing into my life when I'm still trying to deal with my own nonsense,"

"Ah...well, try not get yourself hurt too much, we wouldn't your face to stay that way!" Emiko giggled, playful as always.
She hears what Scout said to her very carefully, almost forgetting to blink several times. When he's finished, Emiko says with a sigh, "Ah...I see now." Emiko smiles and looks out, "Tomomi is quick to jump the gun on thinking people are trying to hurt him. Sadly, that's all he knows. He's always been the subject of bullying, even from his own parents. I don't want to make excuses for him, but he always thinks people are trying to hurt him." Emiko brushes her hair to the side gracefully, "You know, that's why I was surprised at how quickly he opened up to you and Takahiro."
She crosses her arms and nods to herself, "I'd bet all the food at my house right now that he wasn't intentionally picking a fight. Tomi-chan probably wanted to show you that he could and would protect you. It's true, he's misguided. But please remember Scout, he has a good heart. Tomi-chan would do anything for you." Emiko recalls Tomomi talking about Scout to Emiko and nods even more, "He'd give up anything to make sure you are okay. It probably flusters him that you jump headfirst into battle, and he has to wait on the sideline or he'd be an obstacle on the battlefield."

Scout shrugs, “I know he has a good heart, and I know he was probably doing it to show he could protect me. But I don't need protecting. And even if I did, that's not how I'd want someone to protect me,” He looks away, “as much as I like Tomomi, that's something he needs to understand, if he wants to be part of my life. My brother certainly doesn't fight my battles for me. And I don't want anyone else to, either,”
Well. BlackAgumon aside, maybe. But that's a special case.

Emiko lets out a slight giggle, looking directly at Tomomi, "Well, that's the trick of a relationship. You have to share things together, even if you don't want to."
Once again brushing her hair, Emiko tries to offer some reasoning to Scout, "Ichirou and I didn't always get along. When we first met, I wanted nothing to do with him, actually." She smiles brightly, "But it was because he tried to do everything for me. It was a while later that I realized he did it not because he didn't think I could do it, but because he wanted to be involved in my life."
"It wasn't about fighting battles or being overbearing, it's just showing how important the other person is to you. This is going to happen with anyone, not just Tomi-chan." Emiko truly hoped her words reached Scout, as this was a lesson for life, not just his and Tomomi's relationship.
Emiko gave the boy a minute to digest what she said, but then continued, "Every relationship is a balancing act. I think Tomomi needs to understand when to fight and when to back down, and you need to let his flaws be worked out gradually." Emiko sighs, "I really hate saying it like this, but Tomi-chan barely has a grasp on the world and people. Just...be patient with him, please."
Emiko pats Scout's head, "I think you two can be very special to one another if you both can do that. And I'd like to see both of you happy." Emiko the ever optimistic person she is offers a bright smile.
"Now...should I talk to him about this, or would you like to?" Such a big sister.

Scout frowns, “Well, be that as it may, I'm not accustomed to just saying hurtful stuff to people. My filters come off when I'm OmegaShoutmon, though,”
The gymnast shakes his head, “That shouldn't matter. He knows I don't like fighting at all. I'm a pacifist at heart. If he respected that, he wouldn't think that jumping head first into battle is the best way to keep my affections. He was already involved in my life, this was just...needless, and Digimon could've been hurt because of it,”
Whether he digests it or not, he continues on after Emiko speaks, “I'm all for helping him work out his flaws or whatever, but that isn't something I should be doing as a boyfriend. I've got my own baggage to deal with right now, and I can't deal with someone else's as well,” He positively scowls at the head-pat, clearly not in the mood for games, “he shouldn't need to be told that killing is wrong, or fighting for no reason,”
He holds up his D-Scanner again, “If you want to talk to him about it, be my guest, but I'm not. I'm going home,” There are some shouted words, a flash of golden light, and Scout is gone.

Emiko watches the burst of light that was Scout disappear in the blink of an eye and sighed, "Teenagers."
She started to walk home, "Well, that's that. It's going to be hard for those two to work this out, given their strong personalities."
