As soon as everyone took their places, King Etemon shot his hand into the air for a three count. The audience's hype was deafening. King Etemon flashed a smile, eager to begin. The long awaited first round was finally here. "Let Round one begin in 3.... 2.... 1...." He brought his hand down, signalling the start. "FIGHT!"

Kami kept a close eye on his opponent. Being deaf meant that he couldn't hear King Etemon declaring that the fight starts. So the only sign he would receive that the fight had started was if his opponent had moved. It was probably not the best idea to give his opponent the first move, but the situation didn't give him much choice. To bad they didn't have anything else to tell Kami that the fight had begun.
Still, despite being forced into this disadvantage, Kami felt confident. His opponent didn't look to be all that battle harden. Kami believe he would be able to best this Lopmon. Though he did need to keep in mind that he couldn't just judge a book by it's cover. Just because this Lopmon doesn't look battle harden doesn't mean he isn't. Things could go badly pretty quickly if Kami isn't careful.

Lopmon stood on his side of the small arena, ears tucked around his shoulders in his preferred, robe-like fashion. He tensed when KingEtemon announced the start of the battle, however didn't immediately move to attack. Curiously his Kamemon opponent didn't move either, and seemed to just be... watching him. Waiting? Lopmon cocked his head to one side, considering his opponent, and then made a short bow at the waist. His ears unfurled from his body as he straightened his back and spread his feet into a simple fighting pose. Then he nodded to his opponent, once, and charged across the arena in leaps and bounds, agilely throwing himself forward with his wings.
Attempting to get close, Lopmon leaped up to spin his body around, his ears flaring out and swinging for the Kamemon with the heavy, bunched up ends of his floppy, prehensile ears. "Bunnyjitsu!"
Bunnyjitsu: Adopts a spinning combat stance and delivers 'pummeling' strikes with his odd, nearly-prehensile ears.

Kami's eyes never left his opponent for even a second. Not even when the Lopmon was charging across the battlefield. Yet he also never moved from his starting position. Instead opting to lower himself into a slight crouch position biding his time for when the Lopmon's approach.
"Pointer Arrow" He then called out in his off toned voice as he fired an arrow-like missile. Instead of firing towards Lopmon however, Kami fired it towards the ground near his feet in the direction that the Lopmon was coming from. Then with practiced timing, he jumped with the small explosion, using it's momentum to help carry him away from his opponent before her attack could land. Sure pulling a stunt like this did hurt, but with luck he managed to catch his opponent in it as well.
He wasn't done quite yet however as he decided to quickly take advantage of his brief time in air. "Pointer Arrow" He called out once more as he fired another arrow-like missile. This time directly at Lopmon. He wanted to see what exactly his opponent was capable of, and seeing how he decided to charge straight at Kami, range combat seemed to be the perfect way to test him.
Kami would then land approximately 4 feet from where he was if the Lopmon didn't attempt anything during the brief time he was in midair.
Pointer Arrow: He fires an arrow-shaped missile that he has slight control over making it harder to dodge and if it hits causes a small explosion of about 1/2 a foot radius. The arrow is about 10 inches long and three inches in diameter. Range 10ft. before self destructs.

It was Kami's first attack that (mostly) saved Lopmon from his second. The shock from the first blast threw him tumbling off balance, his attack blunted by the impact. However it threw him just off-course enough he was able to see the second arrow racing towards him. He had little time to react and not enough momentum to change his course. Steeling himself, Lopmon pulled his limbs in close and wrapped his ears around himself in a densely packed ball. "Bunny Ball!" Seemingly heavier, he dropped slightly for the ground and the arrow exploded just over him, throwing the digimon painfully towards the ground.
Where, upon impacting and thanks to his current shape, Lopmon skipped off the ground towards Kami. His hide was bruised and singed, but the blast and the bounce had built his speed up to a little furry cannonball flying right at his opponent. He kept his limbs tucked in close, his path set and waiting for the inevitable impact.
Bunny Ball: Hugs his limbs closely as he pulls his ears in around him, forming a brown and pink ball that bounces and rockets towards his target. Actually kind of painful when he manages to connect. Cooldown: 3

That wasn't exactly what Kami had planned with his attacks, but it proved effective nonetheless. The Lopmon seemed to have been caught completely off guard by the two attacks. That made it all the more impressive when the Lopmon took advantage of the explosions himself. Curling into what looked to be a ball and using the momentum from the explosions and the following bounce to barrel straight towards Kami. There was little time for Kami to dodge. So it was a good thing that the Kamemon had no intention on dodging. Instead he retreated his head and all his limbs into his shell calling out, "Cora Guard" The cannonball of fur would then immediately land a direct hit on Kami's shell before bouncing off it. The deaf turtle inside emerging with a smirk on his face as he was completely unharmed.
((Just so you know. An attack like that shouldn't have a cooldown at all. Especially seeing how it appears to deal recoil damage. If you want, I'll look at speaking to Nova about allowing you to change that cooldown on your profile to something a bit more reasonable. That way you won't be at such a disadvantage during this fight ))

The little balled-up Lopmon rebounded off the Kamemon's protective shell and bounced halfway across the arena. Unfurling his ears, Lopmon rolled to his feet and skidded to a stop, the large appendages acting like parachutes to slow his momentum. He was back in a fighting stance, arms and ears held at the ready in an instant. His head cocked to one side a little as Kami emerged from his shell grinning, though Lopmon's face remained carefully neutral. As always.
He peered across the arena to his opponent, watching carefully for signs of intention. He'd see his opponent's defensive strategy now, so it was time to try a different tactic. He waited, tensed and ready for Kami's next move. Let's see the turtle keep up with the hare. Dog. Thing. ...Don't ask.
Bunny Ball: Cooldown: 2
((That sounds reasonable, thank you. What do you mean, 'recoil damage' though? I kind of wrote it as a heavy-ish physical/kinetic attack; you are getting hit with a weighty mass around the size of a cannonball at reasonably high speeds. Like getting hit with a large version of those old hard rubber bouncy balls.))

((Oh sorry. I misunderstood what 'Actually kind of painful when he manages to connect.' when I read your attack. I thought it meant it was painful for you, not that it was actually for your opponents >.<. In which case 1 post would be sufficient. Anyways I'll PM Nova once I finish this post with the request to unlock your profile so you can change that cooldown.
P.S. Also I think you meant to say Hare there. Not hair XP))
The Lopmon seemed to have chosen to stick were he landed halfway across the arena. A strange decision. Perhaps the Lopmon had decided that a change of tactics was in order. It seemed to make sure sense to Kami seeing how he had basically negated all of the Lopmon's attacks so far. Though the question now was what exactly the Lopmon was thinking.
The Kamemon didn't spend much time to think about it as he decided to press his advantage. He ran in closer til he was about 10 feet away from the Lopmon before calling out, "Pointer Arrow." His attack sending a arrow-like missile at Lopmon once more.

That was what he'd been waiting for. With the need to jog most of halfway across the arena, Kami gave Lopmon plenty of time to anticipate an attack. He'd already seen the 'Pointer Arrow' and had an idea what to expect; it was much easier to dodge when one was not in the air and in motion. Snapping his ears down, Lopmon leaped up into the air a good ten or twelve feet, propelled by the cushion of air he'd shoved downward with the oversized appendages.
Once clear of the exploding pointer, Lopmon somersaulted forward, his ears whipping around his body like furry streamers as he fell towards his opponent. At the last moment, he broke out of the tumble and spun around, clenched, fist-like tips of his ears swinging for the turtle digimon.
"Bunnyjitsu!"

((I most certainly meant 'hare,' and cannot say why my fingers decided to rebel on me. Further posting may be slow as I must now make use of the guillotine to punish them.))

So the Lopmon did have something planned after all. Kami had to admit that he was a little envious about the jump the longed ear bunny did. Seemingly unassisted by anything other then his own body strength. Yet now was not the time to be enthralled by such feats.
Kami didn't really have much time to dodge. So he instead elected to try to block it the best he could as he held his arms up defensively. It wasn't going to do much against such a furry of strikes, but it was better then getting hit directly by them. He just needed to wait for an opening to try to turn this around.
Then he saw what he was waiting for. He quickly moved in an attempt to grab a hold of one of the Lopmon's ears. His hands moving as fast as they can trying to catch one of the ears that Lopmon was using to pummel him. If he was successful then he could probably start turning things around once more.

Lopmon felt as Kami's hands closed on one of his ears, interrupting the spinning series of strikes. His feet dropped heavily to the ground in front of the Kamemon, but Lopmon had been grappled before. He had an idea how to use this. He spun on his heel, whipping out with the other ear to give himself as much distance as he could with one of his ears being gripped so tightly. Ignoring the pain of the pull. Lopmon pushed off with his feet and remaining ear away from Kami, wincing as his held ear stretched between the two- sort of like a rubber band. Time to try this again.
"Bunny Ball!" he shouted, wrapping his limbs (sans one ear) tightly around his body. From there, he allowed the tension to do the work. No longer working against the stretched ear, Lopmon's furry little cannonball body rebounded towards his opponent, led by the elasticized ear Kami had tried to trap him with. Let's see him block this.
