Date night! Part Deux! (Scout)

It's been two weeks of absolute misery for Tomomi. He felt cold...detached from the world. Sure, he went to the Digital World almost every day, met new faces, save some people, helped a pair of brothers find some spirits to digivolve into. But beyond the front he felt broken. When he got into that falling out with Scout, every bit of trust and relief he built up dissipated in an instant.
Naturally, Emiko picked up on this instantly. After some time, Emiko stopped asking Tomomi about it. She decided just to act. She sat Tomomi down and explained that communicating to Scout is key. He needed to tell him how he felt, that he was sorry and needed to fix this. At first, Tomomi declined, saying it wasn't his fault. But by some miracle, Emiko convinced him that he needed to apologize for the way he reacted. Emotions are truly a fine line!
A few days later, Emiko told Tomomi to go to Miyashita Park to meet her. Emiko was a fan of the rock climbing wall, so she had Tomomi meet her there. Tomomi, in his traditional ways, arrived a half hour before the meeting time, and was surprised to see what the park had become.
Tomomi didn't realize that festivals in the city were this luxurious. Carnivals only existed in the stories Tomomi read, but now it's here! He scanned the park, looking at all the rides and attractions. Tomomi waited around by the Rock wall patiently. Emiko usually gets there right on time, so he has some alone time to take in the sights.
Little did he know that Emiko's plan was going perfectly according to plan!

Scout shows up! It had taken Emiko a little while to convince him to meet her, after their laser conversation went so poorly, but he believes in giving people second chances. And so he'd dressed in his usual green hoodie and baggy black cargo pants, and gone out towards the park.
There are still a few noticeable red scratches, and still-healing burns on his left arm and the left side of his face. It doesn't look like they're going to scar, but they're still a painful reminder of how he almost screwed up, and how a Digimon had to give its life to help him and BlackAgumon snap out of their funk. In a way, though, it was a gift.
Calumon had given his life to unlock Scout's true Beast Spirit, and to enable BlackAgumon to use the freshly-deleted MailBirdramon's data to digivolve to the Ultimate level. They'd used their newfound power to stop Velgemon from destroying them both, as well as Calumon's 'siblings'. Still. There hadn't been anything they could do for Calumon, who had gone as far as sacrificing his Digicore for them.
Guh.
Still, he's always loved carnivals. Bright lights and loud sounds. Two of his favorite things! He blinks as he sees Tomomi, not far from where he's supposed to meet Emiko. What is...going on here?

As the time passes, Tomomi starts to stare off and people watch. He always enjoyed seeing how other people were enjoying their lives, and sort of siphoned off of that happiness. Tomomi's eyes scan across the wide array of people until his eyes meet Scout's, who seems to have noticed him a little bit before Tomomi did.
It was a weird sensation running through his body. A warm, happy feeling coursed through his veins, and were expressed through his eyes. At the same time, a cold heavy fear. This could be his chance to work things out. He stood from where he waited and slowly got closer to the boy, "Scout..." Even saying his name intensified the happiness Tomomi felt. He couldn't help it, seeing him made him smile.

Scout is half-tempted to leave right then and there. He knows he's a lot faster and more maneuverable than Tomomi...But. No. They need to talk and figure out what's happening. Whether they're going to try and fix things, or just walk away. Nnh. Yeah. He's going to stay. He takes a step closer.
"Tomi-Chan. Emiko said she'd meet me here. She trick you, too?"
He chuckles a little. In all honesty, Scout had forgotten about the whole argument a little, over the last week or so. With everything that's happened with himself and BlackAgumon...the new Digimon they took in, not to mention looming threats on the horizon...it's easy to get sidetracked.

Tomomi looked dumbfounded as he realized this was a set up by Emiko. A slight buzz went off as Tomomi glanced at a text message from Emiko. She also gave him money to spend tonight!
"Yes, I guess she did." Tomomi shyly stated.
Emiko wanted Tomomi to work this out, and he was going to. He wanted to talk about everything, apologize for how he acted...but first he wanted to spend some good quality time with his boyfriend. Were they still together? Tomomi hoped so.
As Tomomi approached Scout, he saw the burns on Scout's face. Slowly and gently, he placed his hand on Scout's jaw, "Are you okay?" There is a look of concern in Tomomi's eyes, almost guilty. Maybe if he hadn't fought with Scout he would have prevented those burns from being there in the first place...

Scout winces slightly as Tomomi's hand touches his face, no matter how gentle he might be. "Yeah. I'm okay. Just...stuff," He doesn't even really know how to explain it without seeming like a hypocrite. He'd left Tomomi alone because the other boy was so eager to fight, but he and BlackAgumon had used their new power to revert Velgemon back into a Digitama, rather than...something.
Would he do it again? Yes. In a heartbeat. It'd saved both of their lives, as well as the lives of three of the Fresh Digimon they'd sort-of adopted as a result. And really, there was no telling what Velgemon would've done if they hadn't stopped him. He'd destroyed MailBirdramon (seemingly forever), and chased after freshly-hatched Digimon just to consume their data. Maybe his egg, now sitting on a pillow in the Evans House, will hatch into something less destructive next time.
He shakes his head, clearing his thoughts, "How about you?"

Tomomi really looked guilty now. He should have been there to help him. Maybe he wouldn't have gotten so injured if Tomomi didn't run. Well, there will be no running away today.
Tomomi stares into Scout's eyes after hearing the question. Was he okay? Physically, sure. He might have gotten some bumps and bruises from his running around the digital world, but he was okay. Emotionally...he had felt so broken. Scout simply being near him fixed that, though. He had to be honest.
"It's been a rough two weeks. But, I'm way better now that you're here." Cheesy line, Tomomi thought. But the delivery wasn't cheesy at all. The relief of Scout being around was easily felt by the tone of Tomomi's voice. He wanted to go over every single thing with Scout, but he didn't want to bombard him.
"Scout, I want to talk about what happened, and apologize for what I did. But, can we enjoy the night together first?" Tomomi rubs the back of his own head, "You know, we haven't had the best track record of going digimon free for a date..."
Date? Did he just say date?! Should he even consider tonight that?

"...Yeah. I've gotta say, being attacked on every date doesn't exactly inspire confidence for the future, huh?" Scout snorts, "alright, let's just...enjoy the festival," He offers a little smile, but keeps his hood up. No reason to attract stares with all the band-aids...
Digimon-free date? It could happen. He assumes Candlemon is somewhere nearby though. Either way, his D-Scanner is in his pocket and ready for action should the worst occur. And he really hopes it doesn't, because he needs a break from every single date or everyday activity being interrupted by a Digimon attack. Heck, even before Meramon and Tomomi had gone crazy that time, hadn't he considered breaking it off at least once? He has enough conflict to deal with in his life without his romantic activities becoming potential warzones as well.
"So what do you want to do?"

Tomomi let out a light sigh of relief, as he was holding his breath awaiting Scout's reply. His eyes lit up, and his hand moved from Scout's face down to Scout's hand. Slowly, almost nervously, Tomomi attempted to wrap his fingers around Scout's. Scout felt warm and soothing. This was probably the first time in a while that Tomomi felt awake. Love is kind of a terrible thing.
Tomomi eyed the boy over and turned his head to the rock wall. It's something that's there all the time, but he knew that the agile boy would love to climb it. This night is to make Scout feel extra special. He pointed to the top of the wall, "First one to the top gets to decide?"

Love? Pssh. Far too soon to be talking about all that nonsense, Tomomi. Calm down. Scout squeezes his hand and shrugs, "We can climb the wall, but I don't want to do anything in particular for if I 'win'. We can just walk around if you want, or...whatever," It's true, he really doesn't care, tonight.
Not that he doesn't think he'll enjoy himself, he's just tired, and wants to take it easy. Let someone else drive for a little bit while he just...chills. And of course, he's always up for climbing something. Always has been, always will be. But he doesn't need to do it. He'd be just as happy buying a snack and wandering around. Yup. The easy life. And hey, five whole seconds without a monster attack! Nice one!

Tomomi looks around the area about four times before he decides to walk over to the rock wall. Wow, not a digimon in sight! Tomomi looks at Scout funny, it's really not like him to be so calm about a competition offer. Tomomi wants to put on a competitive face, but decides to just roll with the waves that come in. Obviously, Scout has a lot on his mind, and it might be better to ease into how they were before.
Tomomi walks up to the booth and pays for the activity with a debit card. He motions to Scout to go to the set-up area. As they are putting on the harness, Tomomi tries to taunt him, "I think I have this one in the bag, Scout." Tomomi smiles through his bluff. He knows that Scout can out-climb anyone. Still, he hopes this simple gesture will get Scout to really relax and have fun.
