“Yeah, being here doesn't seem like a great idea, Kid,” BlackAgumon grunts, following along in his friend's footsteps. Scout casts a look over his shoulder, and then smiles at the large-headed reptile. “Well, don't blame me, B. I'm just following the D-Scanner road!”. Of course. That always works out so well. Maybe someone should just stop Scout from doing...anything. Anyone? Maybe? No?
They'd started walking through the canyon only an hour earlier, following the compass on Scout's D-Scanner towards...well, whatever it was offering them this time. As they'd walked, BlackAgumon had explained what he knew about the territory. The Valley of Dragons, supposedly the 'homeland' of modern Dragon Digimon, like BlackAgumon himself, as well as the majority of Scout's transformation states. The tribes that lived in the valley itself were said to be...the epitome of what it meant to be a dragon. Proud, powerful, and ferocious. Scout had been a little worried by all that!
However, they hadn't seen a single person or Digimon since they'd arrive. And that was making Scout more nervous. Based on what BlackAgumon had said, there should be plenty of life. Dragons typically weren't small creatures, after all, and he...oh. The compass changes direction slightly, as they pass the gaping maw of an enormous cavern in the valley walls. Because of course that's where they have to go. He gives BlackAgumon a look of concern.
“Nngh. Maybe we'd better...size up a lil' before we go in there, Kid. I get you don't wanna fight, but if somethin' hostile's in there, it might be better if we didn't go down when they breathed at us,”. Scout...can't exactly argue with that, and looks over the options on his D-Scanner. His collection of Spirits is growing all the time, to the point where some are hardly getting used these days. But...still, he values each of them, and in a way...they're almost like individual entities to him, with the way they affect his personality.
“Alright. Chozetsu Digivolution!” Golden light springs up around his body, forming a blazing aura through which only his silhouette is visible. He grows upwards to almost seven feet. Golden armor presses itself into place around his body as long horns grow from his skull. What an, uh. Interesting design. “The Golden Hero, OmegaShoutmon, has arrived!” There's a screeching guitar noise. Ah. Good. This is happening again. Good.
"BlackAgumon digivolve to..." Ah, BlackAgumon's going as well. Good. His body extends significantly, becoming far more like a theropod dinosaur in shape. His coloration changes to primarily dark blue, with orange stripes across his back, as a bayonet-equipped cannon forms at the tip of his tail, and a sharp metallic blade erupts through the skull-like helmet that covers his upper head. "Greymon!"
And with that, the two proceed into the cave, one stomping along, the other clanking. OmegaShoutmon holds up a hand, generating a ball of golden energy to cast light around them. Nothing immediately leaps out at them, so...that's something. As they proceed deeper and deeper, however, they both get the increasing feeling that they're being watched by something. Or several somethings. Wonderful.
Scout can still feel the pull of his D-Scanner's compass inside his now-Digivolved head. Thankfully that still works, somehow. Deeper and deeper they go, until they come to a statue of an enormous, quadrupedal winged Digimon. OmegaShoutmon recognizes it immediately as the shape that appears when he casts his 'ultimate' attack. “What is that?” he asks aloud.
“That is AncientGreymon, the progenitor of all Dragon Digimon. If you don't know that, then you have no place being here,” Gah! Voice! Something's there! Almost twelve feet tall, covered in a bizarre rubber armor, with...wings. What is that? Oh. Right. Built-in Digimon analyzer when Spirit-Evolved. Cyberdramon. Erk. “What are you? You bring items of power here. Yes, they will make a fine offering. Give me your totems, and I will allow you to leave unscathed,”
“Wait, why do you want my Spirits? I haven't done anything to you!” OmegaShoutmon protests, even as Greymon realizes this is going to come down to a fight. He looks around the chamber. No, it's too small for either his Ultimate form, MetalGreymon, or Scout's Beast Spirit, RizeGreymon, to be very effective in. If anything, it'd just make them easier targets. Great...
“I am a dragon. It's as simple as that. Being a dragon means your life revolves around survival, and only the strongest survive,” Cyberdramon flexes his wings, “Final chance,” Scout clenches his fists, drawing a snarl from Cyberdramon in response. “Desolation Claw,” He slashes the air with both arms, generating a number of green-ish 'crescents' of energy, which hand in the air for a moment before shooting forwards and crashing into Greymon. The larger Digimon is knocked down instantly, overpowered by the sheer power difference between Cyberdramon and himself.
“Greymon! Hard Rock Damashii!” OmegaShoutmon bellows, his attack accompanied by a screeching electric guitar. A fireball launches from each hand, slamming into Cyberdramon with surprising force, and filling the immediate area with smoke and debris. Could it really have been that easy? Experience says no. Optimism says yes.
A clawed hand reaches out of the smoke and grabs OmegaShoutmon by the neck, delivering a point-blank 'Desolation Claw' to the Golden Hero's body. He goes flying, hitting the opposite wall with a thud. Cyberdramon steps out of the smoke-field, growling, “You should never have come here. You aren't a dragon, you're only pretending. And it will cost both of you dearly,” His claws begin to glow again, before...they stop.
An earth-shuddering roar fills the chamber, as the statue of AncientGreymon seems to...react? The eyes on the statue begin to glow with red light, as OmegaShoutmon's do at the same time. A sort of...semi-transparent holographic effigy of AncientGreymon leaves the statue, gliding across the room and flying directly into Scout's transformed body, causing him to light up with a blazing red aura, and then emit the same roaring sound that had filled the chamber only moments ago. “What...trickery is this?” Cyberdramon readies his attack again, but this time, Scout is ready. He can feel that...something has changed.
“Heroic Soul! OmegaShoutmon digivolve to...” The golden armor on his body shatters, as the effigy of AncientGreymon leaves Scout's body, zooming back towards the statue, knocking Cyberdramon off-balance as he goes. Scout's body stretches upwards, stopping around the eight feet line this time, as a long thin tail extends from his back, tipped by some great...metal weight. His hands and feet develop razor-sharp claws, as his mouth solidifies into a smooth mouthpiece in the middle of a draconic head. Small wings extend from his back as the light fades, “Arresterdramon,” Yay! More Spirits!
Cyberdramon seems...shocked. Whatever just happened has to be a trick. He fires off his 'Desolation Claw' attack, seemingly hitting as more debris goes flying. “Spiral Shredder!” What? Arresterdramon appears to have dodged the attack at the last second, using a level of speed that Scout's forms have never displayed before. And now he's closing in, spinning around rapidly like a flying wheel, tail serving as a powerful cutting edge.
As he connects, Cyberdramon is knocked backwards, and grasps at a 'wound' on his chest, a flickering red line where data seems to be 'seeping' out. Scout closes his eyes as he drifts back towards BlackAgumon, “Great Dragon Buster!” A burning aura of blue energy ignites around him, the air practically crackling with energy. The aura leaves his body in the form of a large energy pulse, which changes into an effigy of AncientGreymon as it closes in on Cyberdramon and, in a single blow, manages to completely obliterate him, leaving a simple Digitama on the ground. “'Not a dragon' my ass,” Arresterdramon chuckles, before landing next to BlackAgumon, “You alright, buddy?”
“...M'fine,” BlackAgumon hauls himself to his feet, still not entirely sure what...he just saw. Did AncientGreymon really act somehow, and bless Scout of all people? Is there some kind of link there? Or was it just a side-effect of the Spirit being transferred to Scout's internalized D-Scanner? “We done here?”
“...Pulling in my head's stopped. We're done here. I guess Arresterdramon was calling me. Or...maybe something else?” He glances back at the statue, and then shrugs. Whatever. Utterly crazy. “Let's go,” He helps his smaller friend back to his feet, and the two set off towards the exit of the cave, thoroughly confused and...confused.
