Alicia smiled softly in sympathy for Elliot. She knew exactly what the younger brother was feeling after all. Her right side never felt quite the same after the Sagittarimon incident after all. The Steel Spirit user reached out a bit and ruffled Elliot's hair, "It'll only get better from here at least, right?"
That said, she turned to Isaac and shrugged with a smile. "Isaac, you should've seen some of the things my brothers sprung on me when it comes to my birthday... Trust me, I'm used to having random things shake up my day at this point. Granted this is the first time the random thing has been of a serious nature and not a prank to go with the day. Still... thanks for the offer, I'll definitely keep it in-"
She was cut off as her phone started to ring. Blinking, Alicia picked the device up and checked the number. It was one that had no business being there at this time of day given where the caller should be. "Uh... O-One second." She muttered to the duo as she answered. As she did, she switched from Japanese to English "Hello? Why are you calling me at this ridiculous hour?"
The voice on the other end said something back to her and Alicia chuckled humorlessly, narrowing her eyes. "Right... Yeah I'll buy that. Bro, I would never forget my birthday so stop trying to pull an April Fool's prank on me." Her tone had gone sarcastic there, as if she'd heard something ridiculous. "Besides, you know how I get when you guys just drop by unannounced anyways. You wouldn't do that to your poor little sister again af-" Alicia was suddenly cut off as the door bell started to ring. The Steel Spirit User froze on the spot as the realization dawned on her face.
"... Oh god you two are actually here..." She spoke flatly, pupils shrinking. She took a glance at Elliot and Isaac, and then face palmed. After another few seconds, the cell phone started to play the dial tone of the other party having hung up and she put it away. "Those jerks! They're here! Right now!" The red head couldn't help but groan in frustration, looking around. "What am I even going to do about this...!?"

The two brothers looked at each other, confused. Elliot plainly had no idea what was going on, while Isaac heard the word "bro" and realized that the universe had a very healthy sense of dramatic irony. It was almost as if Alicia summoned her brothers here just by mentioning their names. "Quick, say they're bringing a million dollars with them. Maybe that news will get sprung on you two," he joked, hoping to make Alicia feel a little bit more relaxed about the situation. "But hey, look on the bright side. At least we'll finally get to meet them now. Shame the world keeps dropping this kinda stuff on you out of nowhere, though." He would've been so frustrated if it was him. Thankfully it wasn't, so instead he could focus his energy on trying to keep Alicia cheered.
"Happy birthday!" was all Elliot said in response. He had no idea if Alicia's high intensity lifestyle was catching up to her and making the days slip away. After all, they really showed up, right? People didn't just do that for no reason! Maybe it was a different surprise instead of a birthday, but it was clear that they had to have some reason for coming around today. It just didn't make much sense otherwise.
For now, it was time to make sure everything was good for their arrival. Elliot hopped out of his seat and immediately started to help clean things up. Alicia already had the house very well done, but there was no such thing as a too-clean house. Besides, things were always kind of messy after an impromptu exorcism. Isaac simply waited by Alicia, hoping she wasn't too flabbergasted by today.
"Well, I guess there's nothing we can do but open the door."

"They did that to me once as an April Fool's prank." Alicia replied to Isaac blankly. "I was not amused. Still, you have a point, the timing saves me the effort of arranging it on purpose." The redhead sighed and shook her head, before yelping as Elliot suddenly cheered a 'happy birthday' as a just in case thing. That had preceded one too many jumpscares for her taste. There was this one time about nine years ago when Jeremy had waited pressed up to the steps before jumping out and shouting that phrase to startle her.
It was guilty joy of a memory to run crying to her mother and blowing the whole situation out of proportion with the intent of getting back at him for spooking her so badly. Seeing the eldest sibling panic like that was a good revenge in her eyes. "Elliot... try not to suddenly shout that. It's got a very different context for me. And its not my birthday, half the reason I never forget now is because I start getting overly paranoid and looking for pranks everywhere aroung the house when the day gets with in a week of arriving."
Like that one time Morgan had dropped a fake spider on her slice of cake right as she was about to take a bite out of it and scared her. With all the things they did to her come April 1st, she had to wonder sometimes why she liked them so much. Probably had something to do with the fact that deep down she knew they'd never actually go too far, even if they enjoyed having a laugh at her expense. They still got her every year, but after the day was up she usually wound up sharing a laugh with them whenever things were brought up.
Shaking her head, the young woman went about tidying up along with Elliot, smiling to the younger brother as they worked a bit. Once everything was as picked up as it was going to get, Alicia took a deep breath and went to the front door, pulling it open.
"There you are, sis! How long were you gonna keep us waiting!?" The loud and rough voice of her eldest brother Jeremy boomed in English, as the larger man wrapped his sister up in a big hug and picked her up. Alicia squealed a bit in surprise and flailed half heartedly in his grip.
"Ah! Let me go, let me go, let me go! I'm a grown woman now, not the little girl I used to be! Geeze how long are you going to do this!?" she continued, banging her fists on the eldest siblings head and shoulders. Just from how slow and light the hits were, she clearly was only doing it for the sake of expressing that she didn't really want to be hauled up into the air like that, rather then actually trying to force him to let go. Mercifully, he did just that after a bit, letting her step aside so the two could come in.
"Honestly, Jeremy, one of these days you're going to catch her at a bad time and thoroughly embarrass her. Like today." The middle sibling, and shortest of the trio, mentioned, adjusting his glasses. Jeremy merely looked at Morgan questioningly, and the other sighed softly. "Our sister has guests over if you haven't noticed. This is why I told you a surprise visit might not be the best idea."
All eyes were on Elliot and Isaac after that, with Alicia laughing softly. "Ahehe, right. Anyways... Jeremy, Morgan? Meet Elliot and Isaac, the same pair I've mentioned to you guys for several days now." Look to the younger pair, the young woman smiled. "And as you know now, these two lovable oafs are my big brothers, Jeremy and Morgan." The red certianly ran in the family, with each of the three siblings sharing the same crimson locks save being a shade or two off from one another. Jeremy's was lighter then Alicia's while Morgan's was darker then her's.
"Ha! Glad to finally meet you two! Ah, don't worry about a thing, that kind of greeting's normal for us!" The eldest brother quipped with a silly grin, chuckling.
"Normal for you, you mean. Anyways, it's quite the pleasure." Morgan shot back, before nodding to the younger brothers.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Elliot looked down at his feet, feeling awful about that misunderstanding. He genuinely wasn't sure, and now guilt started heavily weighing down on his neck. He knew Alicia wouldn't be angry at him over something he couldn't have known about, but he still felt like a huge jerk for making her nervous like that in the first place. Sometimes he wondered if being a mind reader would be a good Digimon power for him. Then he'd be better at reading the atmosphere in the room instead of constantly botching. Why would her brothers shout that before pranks, though? That didn't make any sense! "So when is your birthday? I gotta set it aside to celebrate," Elliot decided. Isaac, having caught on a while back, simply shot Elliot a look that said "Really?" He had to sympathize with the poor woman. That was the worst possible day for a birthday, except for maybe Christmas.
"Nice to meet you guys too. Alicia's always talking about you," Isaac responded, reciprocating their statement. Alicia didn't have as much time to talk about non-Digital things with them thanks to all of the curses and chases and adventures, but when she did her brothers were usually a fairly common conversation topic. The April Fools birthday prankoff, though? That wasn't something she brought out before. Generally it was all either good memories or lovingly annoyed grumbles about how she was stuck with two pairs of the most stubborn boneheaded brothers in the world. Weren't siblings great? It seemed like what she told the brothers about them would be similar, even if how they spent the day would likely be heavily fabricated. Unless she told them all about turning into a steel dragon who hears voices in her head. But that would be crazy.
"Your sister's awesome!" Elliot chirped happily, rejoining the group now that he was done making everything spotless.

"April 1st," the three siblings answered simultaneously with varying tones. Alicia deadpanned it with half-lidded eyes. Morgan did his best to appear indifferent about it, though there was a slight smirk on his lips. Jeremy was on the other hand not hiding his mirth about being able to mess with his little sister on her birthday because of what also comes on the same day, grinning proudly.
"Horrible birthday timing aside, what brings you two down here unannounced?" Alicia asked of her brothers, folding her arms and quirking an eyebrow. If it was the reason she thought it was, she was going to be a bit upset as she'd specifically told them not to freak out and go out of their way for her as she knew she'd be fine in the long run.
"Isn't it obvious? Of course we're going to want to arrange a trip down here to check up on you after a message like that! You know what I'm talking about. I'm just sorry we couldn't throw something together faster." Jeremy answered, with the middile sibling nodding along with him. It was all Alicia could do to suppress the groan, even if she couldn't keep herself from face palming.
"I appreciate the gesture, I really do. But guys, I told you I was going to be just fine, it wasn't even all that serious when it was all said and done. Still..." She couldn't help herself, the Steel Spirit User went up and hugged her brothers tight, sighing. "Related by blood to a pair of knuckleheads and wound up taking in another pair of knuckleheads during my time here... Why do I do this to myself?"
Pulling back from the pair, Alicia stepped aside to let her older brothers come to Elliot and Isaac. Because of that though, she missed the knowing smile from Jeremy. The eldest brother reached a hand out to Isaac so they could shake, grinning all the while. "I hope our little sister hasn't been too crazy for you to deal with! We know all to well how she can get sometimes." That got said youngest sibling to pout at her brother, groaning a bit.
"Well, if you two are gonna take jabs at me like that, I guess I should just excuse myself and go prepare something. I know you two, you wouldn't have gone to eat anything right after showing up. Elliot, Isaac, either of you hungry?" Alicia asked, tilting her head.

"April Fi- Oh. Ooooooh," Elliot said, comprehension slowly dawning in his eyes. The boy may have been a bit oblivious, but he wasn't dumb. Once the date was brought up adding two and two together became fairly simple. Still, wow, talk about luck. Elliot shot Alicia an apologetic look, and made a mental promise to do incredibly un-pranklike activities with her on that day. Maybe if she knew the world wasn't out to get her on her own birthday, it'd help cheer her up!
Isaac shook Jeremy's hand and returned his grin, doing his best to keep his handshake firm and respectable. When you were young, short, and babyfaced, this was practically your only opportunity to get people taking you seriously. "Nah, she's been great. If anything, she's the one reigning us in when we end up getting into stupid jams," Isaac said, today's little bout of stupidity sticking out particularly in his mind. Speaking of jams, he couldn't help but wonder about the text Jeremy mentioned. It was likely about Alicia's injury, the same sort of text she sent to him, Elliot, and Maia. He wondered if he'd feel comfortable talking about Digital World injuries with humans as easily as Alicia did. Even Elliot's burn, which nowadays looked like nothing major, got him antsy. Would he be even half as willing to share something as obviously unnatural as a Sagittarimon's arrow wound? If Elliot's shadow burn persisted he would've been halfway out of the country by now!
At the idea of Alicia cooking, Isaac couldn't help but find himself smiling. "For your cooking? Always am," he said, already feeling himself getting hungrier by the second. He just hoped that shrimp jerkass didn't intervene this time. He wasn't going to miss another meal by virtue of being too busy wrestling an angry chef!
Elliot, on the other hand, eagerly looked up at Alicia. "Can I help again? Please?" he asked, remembering how great his first time in Alicia's kitchen was. His brother was quite bemused by the request. Between the cleaning and this new offer of cooking, Isaac was afraid Alicia's brothers would think she hired Elliot as some kind of child butler or something. It wouldn't be the weirdest sitcom premise that the Digital World had turned their lives into.

Alicia sighed softly, smiling back at Elliot when the younger brother shot that look at her. She'd gotten used to it after all, and its not like her brothers ever went too far with things. And then the expected offer came up, leaving Jeremy and Morgan quirking an eyebrow each at her and the Spirit User herself laughing a bit. "Aaah, I can't say 'no' to that, now can I? Come on then."
Leading the younger brother away to the kitchen, she and Elliot quickly vanished as the two got to work. Whatever would come out of that room this time? "Hey, Morgan... Why don't you go keep an eye on them? Make sure Alicia doesn't go too far out of her way for us?" Jeremy asked. Oddly enough, he suddenly went from big intentional goofball to abruptly serious, losing his signature smirk all of a sudden.
Such a change might catch Isaac off guard, but Morgan knew the shift pretty well and quickly vacated the room as well without another word. Now it was just the two eldest of the sibling sets in the room, and Jeremy sighed. "I know how my little sis is, Isaac. Alicia told us she was put in the hospital by a work accident but... that's not the truth, is it?
The eldest Westfield sibling sighed, sliding a hand into his pocket as he took a seat on the couch and stared Isaac down. "What's she not telling us? Who hurt her like that?" Well... That was a distressingly specific question. Almost like he knew more about their situations then he let on with Morgan around.

Elliot let out an excitable cheer and sprinted off, and with Morgan sent away then there were two. Isaac already had a feeling that this would be a somewhat tricky discussion, but what Jeremy asked frankly didn't surprise him. Unless she got herself impaled on some sort of jagged metal pipe, there was no way an arrow wound from a horse archer would look even remotely like a work incident. If anything, he was surprised that the other brother didn't press the issue more. One on one conversations were easier to navigate than frantic question and answer sessions, though, so Isaac really didn't mind.
The who part was specific, but considering what had happened in Alicia's past its exact significance went over Isaac's head. The boy figured that her brother was simply worrying due to the fact that she had been attacked in the past. Who was to say that the next crook to try and break into her place of work didn't try a more direct approach, after seeing what happened to the last guy who tried something? As far as Isaac was concerned, Jeremy asking about the Digital World was maybe third or fourth highest on the list of possibilities. That didn't change the fact that the information was very relevant, but it did leave Isaac far less comfortable talking about the subject. "It's a bit of a personal matter. I'm not sure if she'd want me bringing it up. But-"
But Alicia meant a lot. Not just to Isaac, but especially to Jeremy. He was her big brother, a mentoring and protecting figure. If anyone deserved to know, it'd be him. Any denial would probably send him worrying straight into the grave. At the same time, he might not have been ready to know about Digimon. He didn't want Alicia getting dragged over to America because of a shocking revelation like that. Alternatively, he didn't want to get his ass kicked for spewing nonsense in a serious situation. There had to be a smarter way about this.
Then an idea struck. "Hold on. Quick question. What kind of clock do you prefer? Analog, or Digital?"

"Digital," Jeremy answered almost immediately, flashing a knowing smirk to Isaac. Almost too quickly for what appeared to be a completely random question that had no immediately obvious relation to the question the older brother had asked. It meant only one thing: Jeremy was already aware of the Digital World and anything Isaac could say about it to him was old news.
"You see... I don't like that she's been dragged into this mess. That message was my first indication of it too, but if my assumption is right, she's able to take care of herself. After all..." He trailed off, sighing to himself. "I'm just glad she's got other people to rely on at the very least. More then most people get from what I know."
Now why would he say that?

Isaac returned the knowing smirk, relieved. "Good. Now I know you'll at least believe me when I talk about it," he responded, briefly flashing Jeremy his own Digivice. He felt far more comfortable revealing it now that he knew Jeremy was in on the secret too. Unless, of course, he happened to be really anal about his clock formatting. Then Isaac would've messed up bad. "She got a bad hit from a Saggitarimon. Bad enough that it carried over between shifts. She's fine now, but I can see why you're scared. My brother's been running around in the Digital World too, and if I wasn't there keeping an eye on his every fight I'd probably have my blood pressure shooting through the roof." It was kind of a light comment, but there was an earnestness to it that made it hard to laugh at. It was almost more like gentle levity than outright humor.
The second part caught Isaac's interest the most. "Take care of herself? Are you kidding me? Alicia's a total badass!" he said, excitedly. "She's probably the most dangerous person in a fight at any given moment. She's got all of these really cool fighting styles and techniques. And she's so flexible, too. Like, you could try everything you've got against her, and she'll always find a way to push through it with some new crazy plan. I had to bust my butt just to match her in a spar." There was no way Isaac could be lying with that much enthusiasm in his voice. He hoped he'd be able to help convince Jeremy of his sister's awesomeness. "And you're right. If she can't handle a problem on her own, she's always got backup. Like my bro and I. We'll be damned if she gets even a scratch on her when we're keeping watch." Was that a touch of pride in his voice? Isaac may have hated calling himself a hero, but he sure seemed to be acting like one!

The eldest brother smiled a bit as he got some honest answers from Isaac. "A Saggitarimon, huh...? Those guys have some really nasty arrows." At that the older Westfield sibling rubbed his left shoulder. "Better that guy then some other archers though..." Jeremy then chuckled to himself at Isaac's mention of Elliot and them getting into shenanigans. The two really did understand each other's plights it seemed.
And then Isaac went into all oh his praise towards Alicia's abilities in combat. Jeremy quirked an eyebrow and leaned in, listening to the younger boy's spiel. It did certainly give him a measure of peace with the idea of his sister unwittingly following in his footsteps. He suspected that much at least though, she was always quick to act when she needed to. "So she's a crafty one, huh? Sounds a lot like her. She can deal with the pressure better then most."
Leaning back, he sighed to himself. "Thanks, Isaac... I really needed to hear that. You take good care of her alright? She can sometimes go overboard and get herself into trouble." Was there anything else he needed to say? Not really, though curiosity did tickle at the back of his thoughts. "If you don't mind me asking, what kinds of forms do you guys take?"

"Seen a lot of combat yourself to figure out that one, huh?" Isaac asked, curious about the other archers that Jeremy mentioned. Maybe he could coax out a list of Digimon to watch out for from the eldest brother. Some Digimon could be deceptively cute until they broke out secret power, while others were basically paper tigers. Having a list to keep an eye out on would be of huge use to Isaac, even if he'd leave the actual curating of that list to Elliot. One brother found information out, and the other successfully gave enough of a crap to put effort into understanding it. Together they were an unstoppable tag team.
"What do you mean take care of her? Please, if anything she's the one taking care of us. You missed her really pulling Elliot's ass out of the fire today," Isaac said, grinning slightly. Sure, it was natural for brothers to worry about their sisters, but Isaac couldn't think of anybody who needed to be watched out for last than Alicia. She was a fighting machine and a really noble guardian. She'd be the one protecting others, not needing saving herself. "Still, Elliot and I do our best to back her up when she needs. And when we're not around, she's got plenty of others willing to keep an eye out. She's a great person. Nobody'd be dumb enough to let her get hurt."
And now he wanted to see the forms? My, this was escalating quickly. Isaac smirked as he lifted his Digivice high, saying "Why don't I give you a little look? Arise, Yasyamon!" Isaac was cocooned in swirling winds and falling leaves, which thankfully dissipated into energy instead of getting all over the carpet. As they faded, the masked swordsman was standing where Isaac once was. At the very least, he was sure to keep his shout quiet so that nobody else would be tipped off to it. This was also why he degenerated as soon as Jeremy had a good chance to look for the form over. Couldn't risk Morgan walking in, right?
Jeez, poor guy. Only one left out of the secret.

Jeremy snickered a bit, smirking. "I've had my fair share of scraps, yes. And far too many close calls for my liking. I'm still surprised I managed to keep them clueless about what was going on from how much trouble I had." Shaking his head, he sighed softly. He decided to bury that memory all the way down, with how badly he got messed up some time.
"Well I'm glad you trust her to handle herself so much. Still, you're all only human at your core. Someone's going to mess up badly somewhere." The eldest brother noted with another smile, before quirking an eyebrow as Isaac suddenly transformed to show off his champion form. "Heh, pretty nice. I'd show off a bit myself to match that but..."
He trailed off and sighed, pulling his own D-Scanner out and showing it to Isaac. The old piece was visibly faded in color and cracked in a couple places. On top of that the screen was filled with static. "It's been a long time since I went there... and this thing hasn't worked right for about the same amount of time. Probably had something to do with the fact that I turned my back on the Digital World. Or maybe the two facts are completely unrelated, who knows."

"Well, it's not like this is a conclusion most people would come to. If someone comes home late at night, tired and banged up, were they at a mosh pit or at a parallel dimension full of deadly monsters? It's way eaiser to assume you've been partying hard than to think you're some kind of superhero." Isaac wasn't sure if that was the specific assumption that Alicia's family had made, keeping his tone general as if to suggest that as one of many alternatives. Isaac had it even easier. His mom was practically distracted all night, too busy working on the paperwork for their move to actually pay much attention to their current activities. For someone so hypervigilant it was confusing to Isaac seeing her fall into such distance, but now that the move was finalized she would likely reset back to normal over the next month or so. Isaac had better squeeze in his Digital World adventures before it was too late! Honestly, though, he was starting to become more worried about her distance than he was about his silly secrets. He hoped this vacation wasn't taking too much out of her.
Human error, no kidding. That someone who was bound to mess up had just gotten the shadows seared off of his body in an impromptu exorcism. Thanks to incidents such as that, Isaac had long learned the value of keeping an eye out for trouble. The Myotismon incident was a critical slip up, and not one he ever hoped to repeat. "I've been there before, I promise," Isaac said, voice taking on a bit of grimness. He didn't want to elaborate on it, but the idea of Elliot getting permanently wounded, or worse, was a nightmarish possibility for Isaac. That he was so close to the edge of tragedy only sealed the deal.
Oh, wow. That Digivice looked ancient. Jeremy must have been in a major scrap before leaving for it to be left in such poor condition. Isaac would have thought it was some sort of 80s pedometer if he didn't already know it was a Digivice. "Mind if I ask what happened?" Isaac inquired, trying to show support for the older boy without crossing any boundaries. He had a feeling this might be a story for another day, but Jeremy seemed like quite the open book. Who knows how much he would feel comfortable with saying?

For his part, Jeremy laughed loudly with a grin. "Hah! I suppose when you put it that way it makes a fair amount of sense they didn't suspect anything! I probably got away with it more cause Mom and Dad always knew I was into sports so a couple bruises and the occasional injury were commonplace." Sighing to himself, he then looked up a bit. "I should see if Morgan has his sketchbook and if I could borrow it for a bit. He knows a bit more then you'd think he does, but I never told him enough for him to realize the Digital World is a real thing..."
Before that could be questioned, Alicia called out to the two elder brothers. "Food's ready, come on over to the table!" And much like a little kid, the eldest Westfield sibling practically jumped to his feet in a rush. A rush that Isaac would certainly understand given what he's tasted before.
By the time they arrived, Alicia was done setting plates out, having cooked up several crab cakes along with pork chops in a surf 'n turf meal. "Please, do enjoy..." the Steel Spirit Wielder noted with a grin as she took a seat.
"This looks as delicious as always. Quite a treat to have a family member so good at cooking." Morgan replied with a smile, before looking at Jeremy.
"Yes, just don't tear anything." he abruptly said to the other brother, making Jeremy wince a bit.
"Oh come on, I didn't even say anything!" he said, exasperated.
"You had 'The Look' in your eye..." Morgan replied simply, as if that explained everything about the sudden answer to the unasked question.
