"See? There you go. Perfect cover," Isaac remarked. He couldn't help but worry if his cover stood nearly as strongly. Sure, he had Elliot with him, and the two of them could vouch for each other. However, neither of the two were much for danger. Especially in Elliot's case, his bad leg made him very homebound. If he was to get suspiciously injured, such as today, they could get in serious trouble. It would be almost impossible to hide what was going on, and their mother was normally a rather hypervigilant woman. How were they supposed to sneak anything past her, once she snapped out of this weird funk?
No time to think about that, though. It was dinnertime! Isaac couldn't help but laugh a bit as Jeremy basically blinked out of the room. How did someone so big move so fast? Isaac took advantage of the brief alone time to clear his head. He didn't need to keep worrying about this. Elliot was all better now, and a bit of time would ease the wound for sure. Their mother wouldn't find out what they've been up to. Next time, he'd be far better at keeping his little brother protected. Everything was going to be okay, one way or another. Feeling a bit more at ease, the boy left to go head to the kitchen. Best not to keep Alicia waiting, after all.
Elliot was already fawning over the food by the time Isaac arrived. "It smells so good! You're gonna love this, Isaac," he said, voice bursting with cheer. There was no better way to help Isaac feel better than seeing that his brother had fully come back. Of course, Alicia's wonderful cooking was solidly vying for second place on the cheer priority list. With good food, great friends, and a no longer shell-shocked little brother, Isaac couldn't help but melt into a grin.
"Incredible as always, Alicia. You always know how to turn a day around," he said. There were so many ways in which that was true.

The young woman in question giggled, smiling to the assembled little family. "I suppose I do, don't I? I'm just happy I can help out here and there." She nodded softly to herself, and then yelped a bit in surprise as Jeremy reached over to give her a solid pat to the shoulder.
"Just help out? Sis, you do way more then just help out. Half the time I wonder where we'd all be if you weren't around! Jeremy noted with a laugh. Seeing Alicia roll her eyes at him, he laughed even more before pulling back to start eating.
"Yes, I do believe the young man's right. What you've done for people so far very much exceeds 'just helping out.' Do take a little pride in how much impact you have on other's lives, will you?" Sol noted with a smirk.
"Oh shush you..." Alicia whispered to herself, glancing to the side. She really didn't need the dragon spirit speaking up now of all times! Because she glanced away, she didn't notice Jeremy quirk an eyebrow at her in interest with what was going on. It would certainly be something that would come up later as soon as Morgan was out of the picture again, that much was apparent.
That out of the way, the trio of siblings had all taken to silence while enjoying a lovely home cooked dinner. And if Isaac and Elliot cared to look over, Alicia seemed more relaxed now then they'd ever seen her. As much as she protested earlier, the surprise family visit was doing her a lot of good.

"Heck, I'd be dead if it wasn't for her!"
Oooh, too much there, Elliot. Even if that was the complete truth, that's also the kind of thing that will get way too many questions asked. The chipper boy paled a little as he realized his slip-up, Isaac quickly trying to find a way to verbally worm their way out of the ensuing awkwardness.
"Y-yeah!" the boy said, trying to keep a poker face. "We were at the, uh-" Think, think! "Train station! It was our first time in Shibuya, so we were pretty lost, and she helped show us the way back. We owe her big time for that one." Well, if the fight with Ulysses counted for anything, she sure as heck helped them not lose their mortal coil. Through a certain definition of the truth, Isaac was being completely honest. He just left out all the parts involving fights and giant robots.
Would Morgan and Jeremy even come close to being fooled? Isaac could only hope Jeremy would be in his corner for wiggling out of this problem.
At least now dinner could distract the boy from his hasty attempt at salvaging the situation. Isaac and Elliot both began to eat, the latter's plate vanishing far more quickly. Elliot was even hungrier after his near-death experience, and that meant even the most filling cooking didn't stand much chance. Isaac sighed in relief, seeing that his brother was well and truly back to normal, and cast a glance over to the happy family.
Alicia? Not looking stressed out and warn? Jeez, it was a miracle! Isaac found himself grinning slightly, thankful that such a great friend was finding peace.

Alicia froze at Elliot's declaration. That was way too close to home all things considered but she had no idea how to tell him to backtrack. Fortunately his brother was on the case to try and patch things up so that it wasn't quite the leaky ship it suddenly turned into. The stare Morgan leveled at the pair was very telling though, he wasn't buying it at all.
"Right, and I'm a monkey's uncle..." the scholarly brother deadpanned. Leaving that comment to hang in the air, he started to eat as well, keeping an eye on the younger Spirit Wielders. How were they going to get this past him without more scrutiny?
"Ah, come on Morgan, you know how younger folk are. When they get excited enough about something they exaggerate things. We've all done it at least once in our lives." Ah, that had to have been a godsend to hear. Indeed, Jeremy was in Isaac's corner for fixing things up. The two elders brothers looked at one another before Morgan sighed to himself.
"I suppose I can't argue that one..." He said as he took another bite. It seemed like he wouldn't ask any sensitive questions now that that was said. Jeremy though, shot a wink and a smirk at Isaac and Elliot, chuckling to himself. Oh, he wasn't fooled at all. But he was keeping quiet about it so that had to count for something.
"R-Right then..." Alicia noted with a nervous chuckle. "Yeah that was a bit of a thing." Poor girl didn't really have much else to add to that line of thought, before looking over at Elliot. "Should I get those extra crab cakes I made out then? You look like you're still starving even after all that."

"Oh, I know, right? Elliot's a total drama queen sometimes," Isaac said, tossing his brother right under the bus for the sake of the group's believability. "You should see him when he does badly on a test. You'd think it was the end of the world going on." There was a little kernel of truth to that. Elliot was the kind of guy who got bummed over a B and cried over Cs. It made the delivery of this bit far more believable than the train station debacle. Elliot's embarrassed blush further sold it, confirming Isaac's suspicion that real life was the best actor of them all.
Thankfully, now food was coming along to distract Elliot from his embarrassment. "Oh, that sounds great!" he said, maybe a tiny bit too eager for it. She was right, though. Taking on Sandiramon's form for an extended period of time and fighting to the point of grievous injury ate up so much of Elliot's energy. At this point, Elliot was fairly sure he could take on an entire three course meal. For now, extra crab cakes would have to fill the gap.
Isaac realized that this meant Alicia would have to leave to bring the cakes. That means they'd be alone with Jeremy and Morgan. Something told Isaac that he wouldn't be able to get Morgan off of their case nearly as easily when Alicia wasn't there. In a way it was hilarious. She was the common element tying them together, and one of the strongest spirit users that the brothers ever knew. Despite this, she was the only one to be left out of the loop here. It made very little sense, and Isaac found himself hoping that at some point Jeremy would just ask her about it. It was getting agonizing sitting through all of this I-know you-know nonsense, and he had the feeling that Jeremy would be feeling the same. It was hard being the most up to date guys in the room, wasn't it?

It wasn't long before Alicia was out to warm up extra food for anyone who wanted some. All the sooner for the questioning to begin. At least that's what it seemed. However for the moment Morgan held his peaced. However, he kept shifting his gaze from one brother to the next in a slow cycle. He clearly wasn't buying what was said earlier, despite Jeremy's input. Everything seemed fine as the eldest brother took a drink from his soda
"So, the other world's really that dangerous, huh?" Morgan suddenly asked, still deadpan. The matter-of-fact delivery of his question, combined with the blank expression, caught Jeremy so off guard that he panicked in response. This lead him to start choking on his drink, rapidly pounding his chest to clear everything up, and gasping for breath before turning to look at the middle sibling in shock.
"You knew!?" the former Spirit Wielder asked in shock.
"I do now." Morgan shot back with a victorious smirk. Jeremy took a moment to process that statement, before hitting his head on the table. He fell for the oldest trick in the book of bluffs. Morgan had apparently suspected something was up from when Jeremy had talked with him about it, playing it off as just a fictional story. Then with enough evidence to solidify the expression, he posed a question that implied he already knew, and baited the eldest brother into confirming the suspicion.
"... How long have you suspected it?" Jeremy asked, looking up again.
"There was a time when you had this inexplicable set of claw marks on your chest. I saw the edge of them from under the collar of your shirt. There's no big cats around and your shirt wasn't damaged. Plus what looked like something that should've scarred healed up completely without even any discoloration where the wound was. Something unusual had to have happened. I'm neither blind nor stupid, dear Brother." the middle sibling relayed, sighing to himself. "So please, stop walking on egg shells around me like I don't already know what's going on."
That said, he turned his gaze toward Isaac and Elliot. "And I suppose both of you are caught up in all this as well? Alicia too? I admit I feel a bit left out but seeing what happened to Jeremy I'm not jealous at all. I can't do what I believe you all do..."
For having the most experience of the active Spirit Wielders in the eyes of the younger sibling pair, it was ironic that Alicia seemed to be the one actually out of the loop, instead of being the one inside keeping her brothers out...

"Had a feeling he'd figure out," Isaac said, trying hard to hide his relief. Elliot, on the other hand . . .
"Wait, you knew? Like, both of you?"
"Okay, gonna dial it back a bit so Elliot can catch up," Isaac interrupted. "Jeremy's a Spirit User too. He's been pulling the same tricks Alicia has, and that we have, and judging by the lid just getting blown off of it all those tricks really don't work well. In other words? It's probably only a matter of time before mom finds out and we're screwed."
Well, that put the fear of god into Elliot. The boy paled nervously, as he realized that Alicia treating his wound saved him from a very long, very awkward conversation. Unfortunately, now he was smack dab in the middle of an even longer, even more awkward conversation, of which he was the second-slowest person on the draw. It still left him utterly baffled that Alicia of all people was the last person to be aware of what was going on. He wondered if they should just stop dancing around all of this and tell her the truth at this point, for both their sake and for hers.
"Yeah. We're all in on it," Isaac admitted. "But it's okay! We can all protect ourselves. Especially Alicia. She's kind of a huge badass, you know," he said, hoping to lessen the blow of Morgan and Jeremy finding out that their sister was routinely going on dangerous extradimensional adventures. "The stuff we do is pretty unbelievable, though. I gotta admit, even I don't believe what's going on half of the time."
"You guys aren't going to be mad, are you? I promise, we wouldn't let anything bad happen to her!"

"Honestly?" Morgan began, tilting her head. "I'm more worried Alicia will unintentionally start some huge revolution thing without realizing what she's doing." Wait, what? "We all know very well she can handle herself, even if it comes to life or death situations. You've seen her fight with these transformations Jeremy talks about I assume, and we know she's saved herself with an improvised fighting strategy when the metaphorical chips were down."
"Yeah. Of course we worry though, what kind of older borthers would we be if we didn't? It's an instinctive thing, you worry about your kid sibling no matter who or sometimes what he or she is." Jeremy added with a nod. He finished that comment just in time, Alicia had returned, setting out seconds for any who cared to dig in.
"Please enjoy!" She quipped, about to return to her seat, blissfully unaware of the conversation that had just been carried out. For the moment at least.
"So! Sis, mind if I ask something of a... Spiritual sort?" Jeremy began, causing the only woman of the group to freeze, looking at the eldest brother. The way he put an odd emphasis on Spiritual made her realize he wasn't talking about ordinary human world stuff. But maybe...
"W-What are you talking a-..." The rest of the words died in her throat as Jeremy showed her his busted D-Scanner. There was no point in hiding anymore, and she actually started to laugh, looking around at everyone. It had just hit that she was the one most out of the loop.
"I retired earlier, but I still have more experience in this kind of thing then you do. You weren't fooling me when you said you had an 'accident' that one time." Jeremy explained. "Mine's were Thunder oriented. Mind if I ask what yours are?"
Finally taking her seat, Alicia sighed with a small smile. At least she didn't have to hide anything from her precious family anymore. "Steel." She answered briefly. "When...? And how long?"
"About when we were... I wanna say sixteen? And for about a year and a half." Jeremy replied with a smirk. He kept that under wraps from her for that long? Granted Morgan noticed, but the wide eyed expression showed everyone that Alicia was surprised at the time frame. She had completely failed to notice.

Wait, huge revolution, what? That would have to be something the brothers asked about later, though, because they heard Alicia coming. Any last comments made would have to be quick ones, like on the nature of brotherly worrying. That was something Isaac had at least ten years of experience with, and that's only because for the other 3 years he was too young to understand proper big brotherliness. "You're talking to a professional here," he assured Jeremy, laughing a little. "And it only got harder now that I ended up in the Digital World. You wouldn't believe the kinds of stuff I've had to help bail Elliot out from." And vice-versa!
And then Alicia came back. And then Jeremy just blew the lid off of the situation. There goes hiding it, but truth be told Isaac was thankful for that. It was getting downright painful trying to keep all of that hidden, especially with literally everybody but Alicia being in on it. If Jeremy and Morgan didn't say anything about it, Isaac probably would have in a moment of frustration. Still, now that the secret was out, he figured it was about time he own up to his own role in it all. Withholding secrets was always a point of guilt for him, and it was only fair that he admit his own culpability. "I'm sorry. He basically already caught on. I figured at that point, letting him know what happened was the easiest thing," he said. "And then Morgan solved it all on his own."
"What was it like when you were in the Digital World?" Elliot asked, briefly shifting the topic back to Jeremy. He had the feeling Alicia would like to know more about her brother's time there, while also having less eyes on her right now. Nobody liked walking into a room and suddenly being the focus of all the attention! Besides, he was really curious about Jeremy's adventures.

Jeremy chuckled softly and sighed. "I figured as much. I never thought I'd have to worry about one of my little siblings getting themselves wrapped up in the Digital World. Now that I that's a thing... ugh, my poor nerves." He laughed it off a bit, smiling.
"You think you're worried? I know how you are. What madness have you gotten yourself into?" Alicia shot back with a smirk. It appeared she was joking, but when Jeremy went quiet, she got a bit worried.
"Well... I've gotten into my fair share of fights. There's this one guy that really stands out though. There was a Sangloupmon I met early on in my travels in the Digital World. He was harassing some Rookies and basically being a real foul jerk. I stepped in and sucker punched him while he was focused getting his jollies off the little guy's suffering. We had been on the wrong foot ever since."
Jeremy sighed softly and shook his head. "Whenever he saw me, he'd challenge me to a fight, stating the last one was 'handled by a coward' and other such crap. Whenever I saw him bullying other Digimon, I'd step in and sucker punch him again. You'd think after enough times he'd realize to keep an eye out for me if he wanted to keep abusing those weaker then him."
"Ever the brute huh?" Morgan quipped, earning an annoyed glare for his comment. "Can you blame me for that though? You do often take the forceful approach to dealing with his kind. Of course, we know you only have good intentions for it all."
"Yeah... I keep telling you though, that approach is gonna make you a lot of enemies." Alicia noted, shaking her head. "Whatever happened to him though? Do you know?"
"... Last time I saw him, I'd just gotten my Beast spirit. Unfortunately for me, he showed up as GranDracmon, a Mega level Digimon. That was the fight that gave me the claw marks Morgan noticed. In turn I gave him a cross slash scar on his chest, just over his heart. It was a dicey thing but that, combined with all the other nicks and scrapes i caused, was enough to send him packing again. Dealing with him that last time though put me through one heck of a shock... That was the day I retired from Digital World escapades. I'd suffered so many serious injuries in that fight that I felt like I might get crippled or even actually die. When I managed to recover before coming home, I decided I'd worn out all of my second chances. It was time cut ties."
The three were silent after that, Alicia dropping her fork as she stared numbly at her eldest brother. It wasn't every day you heard a sibling admit he felt the fear of death come so close.

"Sounds like my kind of problem solving," Isaac remarked, thinking back to all of the times he flung himself into danger just to protect Elliot from harm. Even before the whole Digimon thing started, KOing a thug with a Monster Manual to the head was simultaneously a ballsy move and complete idiocy. It still left Isaac amazed that he came out of that with only bruised up ribs. If not for that Flamon, would he have even been half as lucky? Yeah, that seemed to be the trick. Equal parts luck and pure determination. It sounded like Jeremy had all of that, but also the skill to back it all up. It was a shame. He'd be an amazing mentor if he didn't end up stepping down.
Of course, with what Jeremy had to say next, Isaac had no qualms about his stepping down. Did he seriously fight to the near-death just trying to scare off a Digimon of a higher level? That was crazy! Both brothers were locked in a strange mix of awe and concern at this news. "You're okay now, though. Right?" Elliot asked, trying to find the right words. How was he supposed to say that he, too, had a bad experience that left him downright terrified? How the heck did Jeremy come out of that as more than a walking corpse? Elliot wished he could find something, anything at all, to try and comfort Jeremy, but deep down he knew he was years too late.
Isaac, too, was lost for words, but unlike Elliot he could force himself to find them. "You're a really brave guy, you know that?" he said, smiling weakly at Jeremy. "You've done a ton of good. Now rest." The words themselves may not have been great, but Isaac's voice was as warm and genuine as it had ever been. He hoped it would be enough.

"Well, pretty much, yeah." the eldest sibling replied to Elliot with a smirk. "But I'll certainly never be the same again. I don't think any of us who've gone to that world could ever be the same again. Especially for those of us who transform instead of just getting a life long partner." It certainly seemed that way.
Alicia nodded in reply. She'd noticed how having Sol and Kisara around in her head, on top of her Digimon forms, was changing her on the inside as well as the outside. She just had it a bit worse since her Spirits could apparently directly effect her if she did too much of one side or the other. Probably not what her dear brother was referring too though.
"What you call brave I simply have to retort with being more stupid then anything else." Morgan spoke up, before looking at his brother. "Honestly, what possessed you to take such a huge risk? Inquiring minds would like to know."
"Oi, you overhear someone talking about killing innocents for fun and not feel obligated to do something about it." Jeremy shot back with a half-grin. Despite the light tone of the comment, it shut Morgan up right away. The poor guy's eyes metaphorically grew to the size of dinner plates.
"Okay, okay, enough spats between the two of you." Alicia quipped, sighing. "I think we've had enough talk of that particular topic."
"Kid reminds me of Rygat, honestly..." Sol suddenly spoke up, causing Alicia to snap her head up in surprise. The dragon had been so silent along with the ice maiden she'd honestly forgotten they were even still around.
"Reminds you of who?" she asked back, drawing curious looks from Jeremy and Morgan. Alicia noticed those looks, but it took a moment for her to process the reasoning why, at which point she hit her head on the table with a groan. "Really? I'm the only one out of all of us who has to deal with voices in her head...?"
"Yeah..." both elder brothers answered back. Alicia just groaned again. She'd half-hoped Jeremy could commiserate with her over the madness of having voices in one's head.
"Could be worse. Could've been Navi." Morgan noted, with Jeremy groaning. Alicia, who didn't play video games much, didn't catch the reference to that particular fairy.

"Yep. You got that right," Isaac said. Jeremy's statement was both figurative and so, so literal. Elliot's battle scar was likely only going to be the first of many. And mentally, there was especially going back. Isaac couldn't help but feel bad about all of the things that Elliot had seen so far, and he knew it was all starting to catch up to him as well. A shame that, as far as things going bad, this was just the tip of the iceberg.
Who knows what would be next?
The two brothers could only nod at Jeremy's statement. It was basically the only reason why they kept going to the Digital World, a place that to them had always been one of danger instead of whimsy. When one's first day was being press-ganged by a tank and interrogated by a dark knight, one couldn't really build up a positive mental picture of the place so easily. Being heroes wasn't a bonus or side perk of being in the Digital World. It was their only reason. If it came at the risk of their bodies and well-being, both mental and physical, so be it. Isaac just wished he could spare Elliot of that burden and take it all on his own shoulders. He was too young to have to be making such decisions.
At mention of a certain fairy, Elliot found himself groaning in mock-agony. "Nooo, why'd you have to bring her up?" he pleaded, Isaac casting a confused glance at the three goofballs currently joking around.
"But yeah. None of us two have to deal with it either. Sorry, Alicia. I guess you're just kinda on your own with this one, Isaac remarked.
"Not when she's got Sol and Kisara, she's not!" Ice cold, Elliot.

"I feel like I'm out of the loop. Again." Alicia mentioned in passing. Of course Elliot's unintentionally frigid response to Isaac's answer earned a half-glare. Yes, of course she had Sol and Kisara. They were causing the problem she was agonizing about in the first place! And if Sol hadn't popped up at all, she would've never been a Spirit Weilder!
"Easy there, Sis, for once you're the one getting worked up over something you can't do anything about now." Jeremy noted with a smirk. Alicia blinked and reeled back a bit, shaking her head. A quick pause let her take a breath and settle down, muttering a quiet 'thanks' to him.
"Well, it'd good to know you're still doing alright here, Alicia." Morgan began with a smile. Oh right, that was the whole point behind them dropping in at the house like this. They'd wanted to check in on their little sister.
"Yeah. As alright as someone with crazy digital monster forms can be at least." Alicia shot back with a smirk. Then she frowned a bit, before getting up and pulling her brothers into a tight hug, catching the two off guard. "... I miss you guys a lot ever since I moved here..."
"Yeah... we miss you too little sis. Still got the locket though?" Jeremy answered back as the brothers returned her hug.
That question got Alicia to smile, shifting so she could pull it out of hiding from under her shirt. "You know it. I never take it off unless I absolutely have to, and even then I always have it close by."
"And the same goes for us." Morgan finished, and the trio pulled apart again. "I suppose we shouldn't intrude too much more, though, hmm? Anybody forgetting anything they want to do or ask?"
"Sucks that this little place just isn't built for having guests for too long." Jeremy quipped with a sigh. He clearly wanted to stay the night at least, and so did Morgan for that matter, but things were the way they were.
"Yeah, well you try and afford bigger on a mechanic's salary." Alicia snipped with a smirk.

"Awww, are you guys going so soon?" Elliot said, quite dejected hearing that their new friends couldn't spend much more time here. Unfortunately, it wasn't like he and Isaac could help any. They didn't even own their own place here, and it was already small and cramped enough as is. Housing an entire other set of siblings would simply be too much, and as sad as it was it looked like Jeremy and Morgan would be gone sooner rather than later. "I really wish we could've all hung out for longer. But it was really great meeting you!"
"You guys think we could exchange info?" Isaac asked, an idea sparking in his head. "That way we could keep in contact more, and maybe even game together sometimes." Was there a plan? Okay, maybe. Having some experienced spirit users on call to help with any Digital problems, even through words alone, was an incredible resource. It'd be a huge help if anything bad happened to Elliot, or to Alicia, or to anybody Isaac cared about. While quite the frustrating fact, it was abundantly clear that he couldn't do this alone.
"Where are you guys gonna go after this? Anything planned?" Elliot couldn't help but be curious. Were they really going to fly into Japan, then fly right back out? That seemed even more expensive than just picking up a hotel! Of course, it was the hallmark of a really good sibling to be able to make that huge time and money expense just for their little sister. It warmed Elliot's heart knowing that, if push came to shove, Isaac would easily do the same for him.
