“I learned to play the instruments of war," he said, "and paint in blood.”
Breathless...
Kan put his hands on his thighs and leaned forward a long wheezing pant coming instead of a natural good for you breath; it wasn't the kind you wanted to deal with in such a state either. He had been running like mad to try to get here before the moon up for tonight; if he hadn't gotten here in time and was in the real world? He'd have many problems to deal with namely ones of real life consequences past the digital world. He wasn't sure of the capabilities of his Beast yet and he didn't want to find out while in the middle of population center like japan. He had rushed getting to the digital world so quickly he had forgotten his hat as well as his bag. At the moment he had his two gauntlets and most of his gear for quick movement [thankfully his boots had become broken in finally after having to deal with months of them feeling odd]; though it didn't seem to matter considering his luck. Every night when he went to sleep it felt as though he went to rest and something else came out to play. The human had strange dreams constantly and he was beginning to worry that they weren't dreams.
Am I becoming a monster?
No.
The response made the human stumble and crash into a wrecked wall he was passing by; the thing fell over and left the human wide eyed. He looked around for anything; anyone that could possibly of said that. He wasn't easy to scare but that had his heart racing; no it had his soul racing. He bit his lower lip and stood up slowly; his gauntlets had become scuffed from him crashing into the damn wall. He felt himself frown before he glanced upwards; as of late the weather had been stranger and stranger... First clouds of white; then clouds of black. It smelt like rain; but his skin itched like it was going to snow. He could feel it in his bones though that it would be rain... Kan paused a bit as he passed by another wrecked house; the crater that had once been a shelter held a scared looking pair botamon. The little creature was huddled up to another of it's kind while staring fearfully at the human. Kan wanted to say something to them but he simply cast his head in the opposite direction and kept going; he didn't want to scare them further if he messed up. He saw some more building ruins; more complete but still... It was moments like this that he enjoyed Hannibal's company. She always knew what to do in almost any given situation; though she was a digimon ill suited for the human world she had taken his request with gusto. He needed someone to look after the shop while he worked on.. An issue
There is no Issue. There is nothing wrong.
....
My body keeps yours out of harm. I am the beast. You are my vessel.
Kan gulped nervously as he felt something run along the side of his face as though a hand of metal was touching it. His two digivolutions he knew of were berserk; never talked past growling.. but.. This one seemed sincere in protection? The issue though was he wasn't sure if it was talking to him... or he was understanding the growl's it was pushing into his mind. A sudden scrabbling noise sent the shopkeeper into flight mode. He dived into cover and pinned himself up to the wall; he felt the beast inside of him tear at the walls making him shudder. It was getting close to moon up; he could feel the time change as well as the weather. It wasn't a good sign; if another human or digimon that was aware of the other world was here he would have a bit of a problem on his hands. He felt a few rain drops dance on his head; the pitter patter soon started to pick up The human glanced past the wall to see a form flick through a hole in a building he had passed through a few minutes back...
Blood is the currency, They will pay.
