First Case — Remembrance [Ryo|Squire] [Career]

In days like these, Yuu both thought she was too intelligent or too masochistic for having chosen Whitewater as their base of operations. Or to remain there and reconstruct the place when an unfortunate Flaremon decided to smash half of it.
The city's weather was all but idyllic most of the time. Warm, yet not blistering, windy, yet not uncomfortable. Truly a paradise to live... if it weren't because she had to deal with paperwork instead of being on beach relaxing, that is. If she had known that she'd get back to active duty in the Digital World just to do her team and job's bureaucratic work, she'd have probably refused, but there wasn't as if she couldn't do anything about it.
Well, at least the blonde had to admit that working on these conditions, while extremely tempting, felt pretty nice. She could wear the clothes she wanted, the pay was pretty good and it had a measure of power and authority she appreciated a lot. Even though, funnily enough, her only underlings right now were her muscleheaded cousin and a Veemon variant that Kyo had picked up somewhere along her solo adventures. The two seemed to be pretty good friends, even though their personalities were really different, but that was just how she was, and it wasn't like this was the first time something like this happened. Karin and Jeanne had become their friends just because her digimon was the way she was.
This time, Yuu hadn't even bothered to up normal clothes over her swimsuit. Well, she had, but had decided to ditch them just to be more comfortable, choosing to just wear her hat for anybody entering to identify her as the resident law officer.
"Nee~-chan!" It wasn't unexpected to hear the small hound piercing the silence with her cheery voice. In fact, Yuu could but wonder why she hadn't done so before. "Are you finishing soooon? I wanna splash in the water!"
Kyo wasn't the only one who wanted that. For sure.
["Fifteen minutes at most if I concentrate."] She was glad she could sign with her spare hand while she wrote. Killing her momentum off would be awful. ["We can do anything you want once I'm done, so be a good girl and wait, okay?"]
"Yaay!" As cheerful as it could be, in all honesty. Yuu had to wonder why she wasn't going out on her own, but concluded that it probably had to do with what happened back when she wasn't here. She had emerged unscathed, but it seemed like her partner was more protective of her than usual, even to the point of dealing with... boredom.
Still, Yuu had this strange hunch about this day not ending up with the two of them having fun at the beach. Well, it had been routine for them thus far to not to have an eventful day in the Digital World since their return. Why would that change now?

Honestly, he should have probably returned to the golden City by now. His master was probably worried sick. Or at least mildly interested in where he had gone to. Regardless, Squire wasn't all that eager to return and get an earful from the old knight. Even if it was Kyo's fault he was away, he doubted his master would care. 'Why are you friends with kidnapper!' Dukemon would probably ask. 'Well I didn't know she was a kidnapper!' he would probably respond.
And then he would be grounded and delivering mail every day for a month. No, Squire was in no rush to return home. Even if the threat of his master grounding him hadn't been over him, he would probably not have returned. Why? Because he was free for once. He had been sort of forcibly conscripted into Kyo's team, true. But, he was now free to explore the digital world at his own leisure. And he was getting paid for it. Quite literally living the dream.
Except for... a catch.
As it turned out, Kyo was actually a tamer's partner. He should have known; the number of digimon who reached Perfect level on their own was low as it was. He had met Yuu; she was... exceptional for a human, he guessed. A credit to her species. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only human around.
Squire's upbringing had really not prepared him to deal three humans on a daily basis. Kyo insisted he play nice, so he did his best. The best he could manage was giving them an icy treatment and a silent demeanor. Kyo didn't appreciate how silent he was when two or more humans were within speaking distance, but at least she didn't object to it. The alternate was letting him test his temper against the equally short tempered Musclebound young man of the group.
Not something to look forward to for anyone in the team.
Luckily, today he was feeling rather at peace, no irritation in his mind. Kyo's more annoying antics had turned rather... endearing as of late, for whatever reason, so Squire's irritation and stress seemed to have lowered as a result. Currently, he was waiting for Kyo, laying on a hammock hanging from two somewhat close Coconut trees.
She had gone to get Yuu, who as the leader of the aptly named team P.R.O.F.I.T., was in charge of all the actual work. He didn't envy her position in the least. He was happy where he was. Anyways... Hearing Kyo's happy squeals, he rose his voice, throwing question.
"We hitting the beach now?" He asked, tilting his head slightly to look in the direction of the cabin. It was still undergoing reparations from its meeting with their latest member.

A train-like Digimon, with rail made of light, blazed through the southern tropics. Inside one of his compartment sat a youth who currently sorting letters and documents based on the importance, the urgency and destination. About ten more documents addressed to PROFIT, another ten for various legal matters about Yuu's job--Sucks to be Yuu he guessed... As a courier, he only could sort this. He may not look at the content, unless somehow it's addressed to him directly. That's why both he and Ryu is currently tidying it up, putting it on a bag and labels it accordingly.
"Young Master," suddenly, beside him, Ilbert is there--well, not Ilbert himself. he knows that it's copy of the Grand Locomon, a holography, you may say... one that can be interacted with that is. The Grand Locomon is assuming form of an old, if not verily sturdy built, butler. "We're approaching Whitewater. I'll dorp the speed if that is fine with you."
"Of course. proceed carefully."
"As your command. By the way, if I may, would you like some tea?"
"Actually, lemonade would be better, but please just put them somewhere else for now."
...a hundred letter to sort, different bags for different kind of urgency... luckily there's none that asked 'immediately' or 'a day express' today, but still.. he admitted that there must be new one waiting in the city... either that or he need some sort of request from his cousin..."
Koharu still haven't contacted him at all since that day, not even to Yuu too. What sort of leader that let her boyfriend to do the hard work while she skips dunno where? Granted, it's also because Aria is concerned, but... Oh well.
"Whitewater sighted. For the sake of proper stop without damaging anyone or anything, I'll stop around the shore."
"Good. Just in case, can you stop with the compartment facing the shack?"
"Acknowledged. It's my first time meeting your cousin. I hope I can give a good impression."
"Well, who knows?" Ryouta shrugged. "Kyo might likes you a lot, though. Ryu, the mail addressed to PROFIT and Yuu is..."
"Already here!" the small dragon raised a bag with label 'For Yuu' on the front, then another with 'PROFIT Documents'.
The train touched the sandy ground, yet miraculously doesn't send sands to the onlookers. The compartment door opened almost automatically and Ryouta hops out from it.
"Yo, Yuu. Two bags of mail for you," he declared, putting the bag on the table. "One for PROFIT, another about your job... I dunno which one, though."

Of course it wouldn't be an uneventful day, otherwise there wouldn't be a thread to write about. Just after finishing her paperwork, Yuu somewhat surprised to see a gigantic train approaching from the distance. A GranLocomon, huh? Well, she had to admit that Ryo had taste when picking his servants.
"Lookie lookie, Nee-chan!" Kyo stated the obvious rather quickly. "There's a big train coming here! You think it's Ryo-kun? He said he was gonna bring some friends next time he came!"
Once the thing landed near them and her cousin descended, that theory was immediately proven as true. Seemed like the teenager liked to deliver mail in style.
["Sup, fam"] The blonde greeted casually once Ryo exited the place, just as Kyo went to welcome her new friend.
"Hi, mister train! I'm Kyo, the very best digimon in the world! And that's my partner, Yuu! Pleased to meet you!" To say that she was hyper about him was probably the understatement of the year.
Back with Yuu, she took the newly delivered mail and began to skin through it.
["Man, mail surely got fancy recently. Thanks; wonder if any of these are interesting..."]
A sales catalogue, another one... and another one. The cost of the repairs to their shack, some taxes and... oh, this one was interesting! Setting all the previous papers aside, she began to read the one that had the least amount of content. Well, it seemed that they were going to go on an adventure. A profitable adventure.
["Welp, you're gonna quirk an eyebrow at this one at the very least, man. Apparently, I got a telegram from Luminas' government, of all things. We got a case of a SkullSatamon that's been evading the authorities for some time and is currently being fugitive. His current suspected location? Just hear this one; you'll fall on your butt. The abandoned Aestyr. Brings you memories, doesn't it?"]
She hadn't been there in her life, but... Mana's involvement with Vexus had been something serious, at least until Majin's disappearance. And she knew Ryo was a member too.
["So, what do you say? Wanna come with me? I'm more than able to handle this by myself, but maybe you wanna go there too. Also, I'm totally not using your new train to travel."]
After briefing Ryo, she went outside and waved everyone there; Ryu, Kyo, Squire and the train-whose-name-she-didn't-know-yet.
"[Guys, we're leaving as soon as I change clothes. You have that much time to get ready!]"
Kyo seemed to be happier about this than about playing in the beach, strangely enough.
"An adventure? Yaaaaaay!"

The peaceful scenery and the sound of the beach were abruptly interrupted. From the horizon, a gigantic locomotive riding over railways of light suddenly appeared. An impressive sight to behold, the giant vehicle digimon came to a slow stop across from shack.
"Well, that's a flashy way to make an entrance if I ever saw one." Commented the Veemon variant idly. It wasn't often you caught a Trailmon or any of its evolutions outside of the Main railway system. What was this one doing here? And of course, Human #2 came out of the train, partner in tow. Of course it was a human; only they needed to be this flashy.
Rolling his eyes, Squire turned to face away on the hammock, not too interested in seeing the musclebound human. He could get along fine with the Dracomon. The only human he dealt with in any manner however was Yuu, and he was beginning to suspect it had soemthing to do with her apparent muteness. Seeing how everything that came out of a human seemed to tickle his irritation bone.
The human was swift to duck inside the cabin, however. And out came Kyo, moving to excitedly speak with the spanking brand new digimon. He was somewhat curious about it too. Not quite enough to move from his hammock, though. The breeze on his scales, the smell of the beach and shade offered by the trees... They all came together in one unholy combination. It had him absolutely motionless.
So of course Yuu chose that time to inform them it was time to get ready for work.
"Goddamn it." He grumbled under his breath as he rolled out of the hammock, landing on his feet on the sand. His armor was laying by the coconut trees, having been discarded to allow his scales the full comfort of the breeze. Well, so much for that.
"I swear, Yggdrasil doesn't like me to be happy." He muttered to himself as he reached down for his armor pieces. Putting on armor was a process. Not for higher level digimon like Knightmon or his own master, just for little rookies like him. His master could pretty much just snap his fingers and have his entire set on him appear in a blink. Squire? He had to attach every piece, one by one.
Luckily, he had a lot of practice, so it didn't take him too long.
"All right. I'm as ready as I'll ever be." He said loud enough for Kyo to hear, approaching the group of digimon while patting at his gauntlets. Bits of sand fell off from under the plates, prompting him to nod. "Yep. Ready." The mission was probably more in Kyo's area of expertise than his own. Otherwise, Yuu would have spoken to him directly. Regardless, he supposed the experience would be good for him. He hadn't seen much real combat since his little adventure at the sewers, after all.
Hopefully, more combat experience would help him evolve sometime soon.

Ryouta leaned himself on the wall of the shack lightly, waiting as Yuu reading all that mail. If there's nothing to do, he was going to go back on his delivery job honestly, and say some parting words. He also dislikes that Vmon that exudes aura of irritation at him... like he's faulty for some reason? The hate was completely unjustified in his mind, and honestly he preferred to be silent around him too. Being half dragon is suffering... even if it's just in senses only. He rose an eyebrow though when Yuu started signing about something fun.
"...ha? Luminas?" he asked, wondering just how much authority did his cousin have--but that's probably given because they're both super ultimates. "Sure, whatever rolls with you I guess..." but sputtered when he said something about Vexus. That VEXUS, which he still have the coat somewhere. "...Aestyr? Aestyr of all place? Whoa, someone's going to be so angry... well, whatever. I'll ask you then. Are you asking me this as coworker... or is that an order for snuffing also?" he asked. "...Yeah, make excuse all you want, dickhead, I know you. I bet if I have fancy ride you'd want to hitch a ride even if it was meant for Mana."
He watched the scene outside, where Ilbert seem to be happy at Kyo's introduction. "Pleasure's all mine, Miss Kyo. I've heard many favorable words about you and your partner from the young master. I'm just an old train, Ilbert is my name. I'm eager to travel with you, or actually, to let you on the ride. Please do not hesitate to enter. I have took a liberty to serve you some snacks inside."
Hearing that, Ryouta sighed. "Well looks like you made the old man eager to go already. Just change your clothes inside the train after enjoying the jacuzzi why don't you?" he said with slight sarcasm.
Ryouta exited the shack and pat Ryu's head, who looks happy. "Ilbert, do you know where Aestyr is? My Digivice could tell you where exactly, but..."
"Ohoh, that place, yes? I've marked that."
"Aestyr?" Ryu asked. "That place?"
"Yep, that place... Now, let's go. Seriously, Yuu is such a slavedriver..."

Yuu ended up shrugging to Ryouta's words, looking at him with a casual expression.
["Well, if you wanna go and kill the poor sod, that's totally fine for me. This thing says 'Dead or Alive', so what do we do with him once we find him is totally up to you. Personally, I prefer to see them squirm, but if you get more fun just terminating them, that's fine for me too."] And chuckling at his next words. ["Oh, sorry, Mr. Knight in Shining Armor. I'm sorrynotsorry for spoiling my little sister's personal joy ride. Now, if you don't mind, we have work to do."]
Kyo, on her stead, pretty much ran to the insides of the GranLocomon, happy to see what she'd see inside.
"Whoa, Mr. Ilbert is really big inside!" She said, amazement evident on her voice. "Wonder what you can do! Surely it's amazing!"
Yuu, on the other side, just nodded to Ryo, and after picking up some clothes, went straight inside the train. It wasn't as if putting up some stuff on top of her swimsuit would take too much time, but if he insisted...
She had to admit that Ilbert's insides were as luxurious as they could get, however.
["Gotta admit that you got quite the taste, mate."] She 'said' once inside, taking into sheer amount of opulence inside the GranLocomon. ["Say, what kind of stuff you got in here? I'd die for a cold beer right now."]
The Black Plotmon, didn't skip a beat on thinking the same thing. Guess that being partners at least resulted in some common tastes.
"Oh, you got beer in here? I want some! Can I have some? Maybe Squire and Ryu can have some too!"

The insides of the GranLocomon were impressive. Much fancier than any Trailmon he had ever taken from Terminus. Then again, GranLocomon were luxury carriers for the rich and powerful; it was no wonder, really. The only question was how in the world a human had come into possession or control of one. Considering what little he knew about how humans obtained 'partners', he didn't want to ask.
(If he had bothered asking, he would have known most of what he had been taught about humans in the golden city was wrong. But that will be for another time.)
Taking a seat by a window, he propped his elbow on the sill, leaning his head on his hand. He had been part of the group for a while now, but being the only lone digimon surrounded by tamers and their partner hadn't helped him settle into the team at all. His upbringing at the golden city didn't help matters either; he certainly didn't go out of his way to speak with any of the humans, except for maybe Yuu.
But again, she was a credit to the human race. She didn't count.
Unfortunately, his only friend was currently doing what she did best and being a social butterfly, so he was left to his own thoughts, waiting for her to remember he didn't really talk to anyone but her.
Ah well, at least he got time to think in throughout detail just how his master would punish him when he finally returned.

"If I got snuffing order I'll do it, but it's addressed to you so you're the boss," Ryouta said, shrugging his shoulders. "I honestly preferred alive if possible, but if he started to harm people, don't blame me for sacking him... then again, we're roughly the same level anyway, so I guess I'm not really needed and just tagging. Pay me some for riding my train why don't you?"
...although he handchopped Yuu's head for his comment about the ride. It's a HARD chop filled with anger of younger brother in law scorned.
"I can do this," Ilbert's voice came out from the intercom for a moment, before suddenly a middle aged butler, made of holography appeared near them. "This is part of my service. Please wait a moment."
He soon returned with several appetizer snacks like the one people normally seen in the ball. He offered some to the crew if they wanted it. After Yuu, Ryouta entered last.
"Well, splurging money that existed in this world for a house in return for the house I don't have in real world? Yeeeeah. Thanks for the praise though. Mostly it's Ilbert's default furniture, so I have to say that it just happened to suit my taste, though."
"Your kind word is wasted on me, young master," Ilbert said, bowing.
"Beer? Dude you're underage," Ryouta hissed.
"Ah, but real world's rule doesn't apply to this world, if I may say. You two are definitely free to drink."
"Ilbert... fine, is there is beer?"
"Sadly we have none, but we have champagne and wine... several of it if I may say. Would you like some? We also have other beverages, but unfortunately I did not have the chance to restock beer."

So far, so good. Ilbert's seemed to be a butler in all every sense of the word too, and soon enough, the group was being offered snacks. What a pleasant way to spend their trip; almost felt like traveling in first class.
Well, she'd have time for that later. She had no idea how much time they had until their arrival to Aestyr, but first things first. Getting on workclothes was a priority. As she got through most of it, however, she heard Ryouta commenting on the fact that couldn't drink because... she was underage, of all things. Yuu'd had to resist guffawing on the spot, and just snickered really obviously.
["Are you for sure, Ryo? Oh man, as if underages drinking on things like sake, which is way worse than beer, wasn't a thing in the real world. Stop behaving like a party pooper and just let me relax a bit, man."]
When she had picked the taste for alcohol? She couldn't really recall that, but guessed that a certain someone had to do with it. That someone, and the phrase 'Nothing like a stiff drink after a gunfight!'.
"No beer? Aw shucks, that's a shame." Kyo seemed to be really disappointed at the lack of the beverage, but at least found solace in the fact that Ilbert had wine. "Well, guess we'll make-do then! Mr. Ilbert, bring some wine, please! Chardonnay if you have it, please~"
Anything fancier than that would either be too soft or too hard on them, so she guessed that setting on that would be for the best.
Yuu, now fully on working clothes, just stared at the service while eating some almonds. Man, this was life.
["So, while we're at it. Have you even been on Aestyr, Ryo?"] She took a sip of her recently served glass. ["I just know it's a magical fortress that floats up high in the sky, but other than that, I'm ignorant about what we'll find inside. Any pointers or anything that we should have in mind while treading in there? Chances are that, if the SkullSatamon is inside, he either knows how the place works or... just got lucky. I'm going to plan for the worst case myself."]
She watched through one of the windows towards the horizon. They'd probably arrive soon. And... better if they were prepared for this.
Kyo, on her stead, was seated across Squire and Ryu in one of the other seats, and was currently pouring them a drink.
"So, do you like flying fortresses? I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun!" It was pretty obvious that she was hype for it. "And what do you think of the wine. Quite good, isn't it? Seems like Ilbert has really good taste!"

"A flying fortress..." Echoed Squire, turning his head towards the window. It sounded rather impressive. He was not regretting coming to the mission in the least. He hoped he got a chance to explore the place once they got there. Probably not a good idea, though. Their target was a 'SkullSatamon'. If he remembered correctly, that was a perfect level species. Not exactly someone Squire could tangle with.
He would to stick close to Kyo. Darn.
"Sounds rather promising." He commented to Kyo, muttering a few polite thanks as he took in his hand the drink she poured for him. "I'll probably not get a chance to sink my teeth on the place, though. Took weak to wander off on my own with a perfect on the prowl." He muttered, pressing the cup into his mouth. Tipping it slightly, he took a few gulps of the drink before pulling it away, rolling it slightly in his hand. He then sighed. "I should pass by the Spartan training grounds, soon. I obviously need to push my training harder."
The stronger he became, the least he would need a escort in his explorations. It was strange for him; he could feel the power in his core, but couldn't quite seem to tap into it. It seemed more like a mental block than a physical one. Not something someone like him knew how to deal with.
So he would just train harder until he broke past this imaginary barrier.
"The wine is... good, I guess? This is actually my first time drinking. It's illegal for Child level digimon to drink within the city limits of Eldoradimon." Good thing he very far from Eldoradimon at the moment. He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't dislike it, so I'll assume it's good."

Ryouta decided to not care about his cousin. He's the law here, so he guess that getting some Beer is probably ain't going mean any jack s**t. Lucky that Ilbert is still preparing. "Ilbert, give me few minutes... or heck, go on ahead first with low speed."
"What about you, Sir?"
"I'm going to get some beer for this law marshal just in case the Chardonnay is not enough. Get me some chilled sake would you? And some edamame."
While Ryouta's senses somehow enhanced to its utmost, he doesn't deny that Biomerging with Ryu also made his liking to drinking sake increased. He have no idea why, but he also likes the sake that is fruity in taste. Ryu quickly transformed to his Wingdramon form outside, and true enough, Ryouta rides him toward the shop there, and returned right on time for the ride. Ryu returned to his Dracomon form and sit somewhere. Meanwhile, Ryouta put a pack of it beside Yuu, then put another two on the fridge.
"Take it from over there if you need it next time." Yeah, next time, because he know that Yuu going to use Ilbert for more than once transportation.
Ilbert quick to return with a sake cup and a peach sake bottle. It's just 5% in alcohol content, so it's actually less strong than Chardonnay. He poured it to Ryouta's cup until it's to the brim.
"...Well if you have to ask... I haven't been there personally. I was going to meet the leader once, but he was gone... so I'm technically just a strange member that have the coat but haven't met the leader. Mana and Karin was more involved." He sipped his drink, and somehow smiled. "Mmm, delish, thanks, Ilbert."
"My pleasure, young master."
"From what I know from Karin, the fortress was full to the brim with about a thousand or probably more mercenaries. It's complete with defense system that's hard to crack, so... yeah. Anyway, if the members are inactive now, there might be chance that even the defense system is down and the mercenaries vacated the fortress. So it might be... just a past thing glory."
"Dear passengers," Ilbert began. "We'll ascend shortly."
Ryouta watched as the light rails began to materialize to the sky, carrying them higher, toward the floating fortress.
Ryu sipped the chardonnay, finding the fruity taste of the wine to be rather delightful. "Aestyr was supposed to be armed with AA protection though... I mean, last time I heard from Jeanne, it was full of mercenary... like enough to have an army for itself. Then again... the leader was gone. So there might be chance that the fortress will stay inactive... unless somehow the Skull Satamon can hack the system."
Hearing Squire's comment, Ilbert walked up to them and bowed apologetically. "I beg your pardon for the unsuitable pick. Would you perhaps like another drink that's more to your taste?"

Amazingly enough, Ryo actually did something nice for once and bought some drinks. Among them, there was beer. Beer.
["Thanks, Ryo. Really mindful of your part."]
Immediately, she took one of the cold cans and opened it up, taking a good gulp before sighing with relief.
This was life.
["Man, this is probably how Valhalla feels."] She remarked idly. ["Eating and drinking delicious stuff in between battles. What else can you ask?"]
She listened attentively to her cousin's explanation about the place. Apparently, it used to be something really awesome, but, just as she was expecting... right now it was probably just a husk of its former glory. Thinking it was deserted after its leader leaving was probably something obvious, unless somebody managed to control the place too... as unlikely as that was.
["I'm not expecting this to be too complicated myself."] The blonde admitted truthfully. ["This seems to be just a common lowlife, otherwise Luminas wouldn't have trusted it to us. You know how prejudiced they are, and chances are that they know me and my partner, and how... we don't really fit in their tastes. Still, work is work, right?"]
But those were discussions for later. Right now, Ilbert had already brought them to the fortress' front. It was showtime.
[Alright. Let's go.] Without a care in the world, she descended from the train, regarding the structure around them.
She had to admit that the otherwise imposing place looked... pitiful right now. Quite sad, but there wasn't much to be done about it; deciding to get stuff done as quickly as she could, she went through the opened portcullis and straight to the main door, opening it unceremoniously.
["Well, s***."] The girl said right afterwards. Her first image of the Aestyr's insides was... curious, to say the least. SkullSatamon was laying in the ground, apparently paralyzed or just uncosncious due to the fortress' very first trap. ["This is... extremely anticlimactic. All these travels and stuff, just to find our quarry served to us in a silver platter. Guess Luminas was just too afraid of this old fortress to even consider treading in it and sent us as cannon fodder. Man, and I was so pumped to beat this guy into submission. Oh well, seems like you can't even expect an epic battle to ensue nowadays. What a shame."]
As disappointing as this was, work was work, she guessed. And she was going to take it seriously. Without missing a beat, she evolved Kyo to Astamon, the digimon restraining the unconscious digimon and carrying it back to Ilbert's cabin, Yuu right behind her.
"Man, this sucks. I wanted to fight so badly..." Kyo seemed to be as disappointed as her partner, but she guessed that was just how life was. When you wanted something, it was pretty good at just doing whatever it pleased.
["Hope that at least the pay's good, because otherwise... I'm gonna be really disappointed. Oh well, at least we got beer now."]
Before picking up a can, she just gave Ryouta a meaningful look, silently telling him that... they were going to turn this lowlife in. Well, at least... Ilbert was comforable; dealing with this kind of situation without having a pleasant means of traveling would have been really awful.

"Oh?" Squire turned to face the butler, tilting his head at the offer. "There's no need. I'm not at the golden city, and I don't find the taste disagreeable. But thank you." He replied, nodding politely.
He spent the rest of the journey in silence, keeping mostly to his own thoughts. Only the two humans present chitchatted, though as Squire was not looking in their direction, he could only hear Ryouta's side of the conversation. After some time in the train, he began to feel unrest, wanting to get swiftly to the base. Still being something of a child, he didn't staying still for too long, unless the place he was staying at managed to drag him into a state of sleepiness.
Nice as the train was, it was still no beach; he couldn't stay put for too long.
He excused himself before standing up, beginning to pace around the hall of the wagon. Anything to get his legs moving, really. It was unfortunate, but his favorite method of passing time was currently unavailable to him. He doubted either Ryouta or the GranLocomon would appreciate if he started training in the wagon, after all.
When they arrived, Squire had to actually contain himself from just leaping out of the train.
For the others, the place may have looked pitiful and ravaged by time. For Squire? It was just waiting to be explored thoroughly. As Yuu stepped forward and unceremoniously threw the doors, Squire's core lept in his chest, excitement threatening to burst.
And there was their target, laid out on the floor unconscious before the mission could even really start.
"Son of a gun." Immediately uttered Squire for everyone to hear, his brow twitching slightly.
It's sad really, but that was actually how their mission went. Squire didn't even get to go inside the fortress, because the dumb ass target had gone ahead and gotten his ass kicked by the very first trap.
"I hope we are getting paid enough for this crud." Grumbled Squire as he returned back to the train, already dreading a boring trip back to base. He gave the fortress a forlorn glance, sighing.
Maybe next time.

"Not sure if this is Valhalla or just damn good service, but I guess you're right somehow," Ryouta muttered, chuckling and sipping the sake more. "Though it sorta made me wonder why would Luminas of all thing, people full of pride decided that it's fine to hire you... I can practically smell the fishiness... oh right, cannon fodder. Guess they're looking at you too lightly. Honestly, Super Ultimate against Perfect. What a farce."
"Dear passengers, we're approaching Aestyr in five minutes," Ilbert declared.
"Welp, showtime!"
Perhaps it's too much, but Ryouta already clad in his SU form. He's not going to take risk on accidentally stepping on traps on the way, nor making Ryu protecting him from that. His draconic eyes stared at the old fortress... So this is how it looked... shadow of its former glory indeed. He followed Yuu, body still relaxed but heart a bit excited in thought of that he would have the time to look around the place of where his girlfriend was a member of.
...but that expectation just... destroyed... almost immediately. It was so anticlimatic that he wanted to cry.
"SON OF A GUN INDEED! GIVE ME BACK MY EXCITEMENT!!"
He sighed and produced some sort of chain to tie the Skull Satamon with. Slightly in his mind he wished to be able to kick this anticlimatic, small fry villain on his butt. He wondered if it's fine for Yuu to put the criminal in the same place as all of them, though. He know that it's the best surveillance, but... oh well.
"Is it going smoothly, young master?" Ilbert asked.
"Too smoothly. We're going to Luminas now. prepare maximum security for this small fry."
"Understood, sir..."
First to enter is Ryouta, still grumbling about 'killjoy'... then when Squire get in, Ilbert gently tapped him on the shoulder.
"It must have been boring. if you want to, why don't I ask young master's permission to use the gym or recreation compartment?"
Ryouta who heard that arced an eyebrow, but he merely smiled, giving up slightly.
"Well, might as well as make yourself at home? The journey will be boring, so use whatever is available."
"...So he said," Ilbert said, smiling. "Why don't I guide you there?"
