"At times people believes they can do that alone. it's impossible though even if you're the highest level," Ryouta said. "Even the most powerful tyrant can be destroyed by the public. If the tyrant tried to force the public bend its way, and uses force, eventually when people rebel and force is used to eliminate the rebels, there wouldn't be any more people who you will rule. In the end, it's a waste of energy and time to be a tyrant."
Ryouta turned to Mana.. "Well, that's actually related to what I'll say, but I'm afraid it doesn't make many sense either. You'd probably going to get annoyed, but, you wanted answer, don't you? Any information of what happened after our meeting?"
He opened his D-Terminal and shows it to Mana. There, two Digimentals is swirling about, both of them with same crest.
"...Should I tell you the story about how you got heartbroken by... an alternate dimension version of me? Or would you think that's too funny? Honestly, I'd think it's too funny to be true, too. But remember, there is Digital World. In what chance there's no alternate dimension entity version of everyone?"
Mana grew more confused by each passing second. She didn't understand what was happening, nor seemed to understand what everyone was talking about. Everything seemed so natural for them, yet... so alien for her. She felt like she wasn't meant to be with them, even though she was supposedly part of this. Not the greatest of sensations, to be honest.
Ryouta's gestures were already pretty close to being the last straw. By this moment, the girl was completely exasperated; she didn't need cryptic and mixed messages. She needed something concrete; she wanted to remember, not to answer a sphinx's riddle even though that it seemed that that was what this guy had in mind.
"Just do whatever you please, really." She said, a small amount of anger already tinging her voice. "I'm frankly growing tired of this, but if you still want to keep playing with me, that's fine. I planned to be on my way soon anyway."
The blonde girl that seemingly was brother/sister/whatever had been way more helpful than this, in all honesty. Maybe she was starting to grow restless or impatient, but the feeling that she was she was being toyed with felt like too much.
Suzuran, on her stead, just watched with mild amusement what was happening. She could sense that this wasn't getting anywhere, and in all frankness... was a bit eager to see the conclusion. Especially since time was about to tell.
Of course this also makes Ryouta grows even more frustrated. Why don't she heard the first thing that he also know barely nothing? He wasn't there. He wasn't there so of course he have no idea what happened! His eyes looked at her, but it was cold compared to her annoyed one. Yet at that moment before the situation can escalate further...
A clap resounded from the small dragon.
"Time out," Ryu said. Now in his Dracomon form, he start taking out some of his balls and start juggling it. "Aniki, you might looks calm outside, but inside you're growing more and more impatient at the lack of response you desired. I think you're putting too much expectation on Mana-chan. You're increasingly annoyed and frustrated there's no one else here who could back up your claims, because the only one who could, Ayaka, is currently still dormant. I can, but I'd probably be thought as someone who sides on you too much, because I'm your partner. Your bad habit is you're getting more and more illogical as your temper flares.
... Meanwhile, Mana-chan... you're being impatient, but you refused to acknowledge that what Aniki do is basically because he was afraid to hurt you, especially because we know what happened after this won't be pleasant. He's not toying with you, he's afraid of snapping you like back then. All in all, however, you two did mutual destruction to each other, so time out for a bit, calm down your feeling... but don't get out of this room. Don't go on your way, because if you want to remember, you need to clearly state what you want to know. Aniki have no idea of what happened to you during the blank period of one year before this. That's because he lost his memories. I'm the same, so I can't tell you what happened. Even Yuu for that matter said that she just found you, and that's all. No other explanation whatsoever. All she know that you got separated for few months and when she found you, you're already in this form.
...But it's time to stop this. Yuu said tread carefully. But you're being too careful around Mana-chan. Aniki, you're trying your best, but Mana-chan, she doesn't seem looks as if she would hurt that easily this time around, so why don't you call those two?"
Ryouta looks as him as if he's crazy, but... the dragon stared at him, dead serious.
Concentrating, Ryouta touched his D-Terminal, and... the two Digimental inside of it shone and summoned two gates, where holographic version of two Ryoutas appeared. One... was looking more like the photo, but more horribly scarred than even the boy currently... another, was if one have to say... looking 'empty'.
"Huh, here I thought that we're no longer needed after you somehow already defined your ideal but---huh?" the scarred one looked at Mana, then at Suzuran. "...Sorry, who?"
As if the situation couldn't get even more ridiculous. Now, Ryu was... juggling rubber balls to calm them down? Eh, might as well. She exhaled slowly and tried to ease her nerves, just to hear what he had to say and get done with this already.
Still, she couldn't but find some of the dragon's words to be not so slightly aggravating. In all honesty, she didn't care about anybody else right now. If they insisted on telling her about her past, she wouldn't admit a half-cooked explanation with safe spaces and that crap.
And at least he seemed to get that, apparently calling those... two? Whoever they were, at least she expected for them to answer at least some of her questions. Any would be good enough, in all honesty.
She watched with surprise as he seemed to summon... some alternate dimension selves, if she could make a wild guess about it. Well, if anything, at least she kinda expected this. At least not because she knew, but because she was told that something stupidly supernatural could happen at any moment.
With any luck, these clones would be a little better at explaining actual stuff.
"So... what are you guys supposed to do? I'm waiting..."
Before Ryouta can open his mouth, however, one of the copy glared at him.
"...Oi, what's the meaning of this? Suddenly calling us out... and suddenly there's an unknown girl in front of us, what do you mean by this?"
"...Unknown? That's Mana you know."
"Yuu also turned into a girl, so can we cut the chase?"
Another of the copy however, stared at Mana emptily, then to the bickering two. He sighed and nodded. "I see, so loss of memories... and as usual, this dunghead decided that he should held back while trying to rouse your memory and made it awkward for both of you, huh? Well, here's what we're going to do. If you want a full memories then... we only can give you whatever that guy experienced, not what YOU experienced... but will it be OK?"
He waited for several moments for her to answer and then raised the second point.
"Next, we'll basically show you directly instead of talking. Digital World artifact is funny like that. Anytime you want to stop, you can say stop. You can't interact with object in that memory if you decided to watch as a watcher, but we also can technically made it that you watch it from the point of view of Tsumura Mana from back then, just like first person point of view. So, which one will you choose?"
Well, now she was... even more confused than usual, but at least she had managed to grow interested in what this small circus had to offer. At least in the one that was interested in her and not in some discussion about who and why she was the way she was.
Still, she found slightly stupid the strange fixation they had on remarking the this guy 'Yuu' was a girl, but there wasn't much she could about it.
At least somebody was interesting on actually helping her. Otherwise she'd have already abandoned this place.
"You got that last one wrong, though." She simply answered the guy who was talking with her. "It's not awkward for me right now. It's outright frustrating. But that doesn't matter right now; if you wanna help go ahead. If you wanna keep on with the cryptic clues and that bullcrap, feel free to go ahead too. I don't care if it's directly, indirectly, virtual reality or even a manga about my life. I want to see it, okay? Stop being so solemn and show me already. Chances are it won't be that bad if I'm still alive."
Suzuran smiled at those words. She could already sense that this human at least wasn't that bad. The muscly one, however... he was behaving like a royal pain in the behind.
"...Yeah, you're different from you from back then. How to say, you got more guts in you now," the empty eyed one said. A faint smile crept on his face. "Excuse me for a second..."
Taking a big telephone book, he slammed it on top of the two bickering guys. "...Would you shut up? Because you two cared for minor detail like this is exactly why her evaluation of you guys dropped so harsh. What stupid person asking right on about who the girl is anyway? Are you idiot that distrust your own self? You think we got some stupid liking in torturing someone we like? And you, you know you're fucking bad at explaining, yet you choose your words like some badass mentor, but only managed to become annoying sphinx. Seriously, you know that the best thing to do is to call us immediately."
At least the owner of the Digimental learned his lesson and shut up, but the one who is another copy glared at him. Nevertheless, the empty eyed one turned to Mana this time around. He gently hold her wrist.
"...The damage has been done, but technically, this guy was prepared to call us out, and most likely got frustrated that he also got wrong foot reaction from you... either that or he's dumb, whichever works. I never seen such vitriolic chemistry... I guess it's because both people got their expectation betrayed? Well, I'll nevertheelss begin to fix that damage. Come."
Light shone from his hand, and before Mana knew it, she was in a small park, only two of the Ryouta is there. One the original, and another the empty eyed one. Suzuran is not with her, So is Ryu.
...There... There was a girl with her egg.
"...You can go there closer if you want. We'll just sit in here. No one will disturb your viewing pleasure... heh 'pleasure'."
...It might be petty, but apparently even the empty eyed guy was rather angry that Suzuran called Ayaka lazy. It's mayhaps the reason why she's not here.
What else to expect, rather than some kind of voodoo mumbo-jumbo? Well, not much, in all honesty. After all, this guy already had the ability to call upon his other selves for whatever reason, so this wasn't as surprising.
Still, hadn't Mana been through the process of waking up in an entirely different world, meeting beings that weren't human at all and more bizarre happenings, she'd have thought this was some kind of an acid trip.
The redhead found herself... surprisingly at ease with that fact, however. Taking stuff as it came maybe would lead her somewhere. Anywhere was fine, really.
And so, she appeared in that small part, Suzuran nowhere to be seen; she was invited to go and see closely the girl with the egg, and so she did, even though this guy sounded like the creepy kind.
She could say that she was familiar with the egg's shape and design, and already could make an educated guess about who was that person. Suzuran, on her stead, just shrugged as she kept on eating. She wasn't surprised at a human being petty nor subtle, even on the slightest. It kinda was their nature to be that way, and now that she had been forced to withstand them, might as well get used to it as long as they didn't transcend their boundaries.
"...Do you have to be that way? Acting almost creepily at her?" Ryouta asked his copy who merely shrugged. "I'm saying 'pleasure' with air quote, it's her fault to take it in innuendo way. I'm saying that it won't be full of pleasures. You know that. Also, if there is Karin around, I'd probably could link with her too and fish out the memories of what happened that day. I'm not touching Ayaka's egg anyway."
"....If what happened with Charles Ashmore apparently that deep then..."
"Then there's no helping that what we supplement this time around wouldn't be enough. Anyway, I'm secluding Suzuran out in honor for Ayaka."
The girl, which is Mana, approached the boy with Babydmon along with Ayaka. Ryouta winced when the old him asking whether Mana is Tamer. It's such a strange term for him now. Not only that, he felt a bit nostalgic that somehow his D-3 is not the same one as he have on hand. It's much.. how to say, probably much simpler? They chatted a bit, while Ayaka is with Ryu, which back then unnamed inside his backpack. The girl told the boy about how Ayaka doesn't want to eat anything she offered, while Kyo just gobble everything that Yuu gave her.
Ryouta did some stuff about saying how plant Digimons like Ayaka grows... but again, it's just a theory. Then, of course the motherly girl freaked out that he's planning to bury her Digimon in a mound. Looking at that, Ryouta fondly smile. Mana's heart easily bleeds, huh... he wonder if she's the same now or has she changed? He looked at the scene again, where the younger him gave Mana the water, yet she doesn't seem to dare to do the burying. A pity, but he could understand. That's why he did the thing himself, until a girl called Ann White approached them...
As soon as the scene settled in, the redhead's head began to spin; a vertiginous sensation went through, and, in all honesty, she felt dizzy; maybe even overly so. Joining dots wasn't really hard but why this just felt... so wrong? It was an bipolar feeling, if she has had them; on one side, she felt like this was her past, or at least, had been her past, while on the other... she just felt the need to reject this? Why?
"Take this was... me and you, way back in the past?" She asked the boys, not even knowing the reason why. "This is how I began, isn't it? Way back..."
On that same moment, a sentiment of deep distrust was rooted on the girls mind, at least towards the "fake" Ryoutas. She didn't know why, but... she couldn't bring herself to trust them right now, and in what respected her... preferred to not to have anything to do with any of them.
"I think I know what happens next and I want to ask a question. Why did you just disappeared without leaving a trace? I remember searching for you all and not... finding anybody. Why?"
Her head was starting to bother her, to bother her a lot. She felt as if a splitting headache was being born but didn't do anything about it.
Of course when the girl staggered, Ryouta quickly approached her and tried to help her stand straight. His expression full of worry, but that's to be expected. Despite all the wrong start, he still love her, so very much. His eyes locked to hers as she asked. He nodded.
"This is how you started... I started a day ago, but yeah, this is how we met."
Listening to her second question, the boy looked guilty, yet when he answered, his voice never once gave any speck of lies. It's filled wth regret and
"...I don't know either, Mana... I don't know. I really don't know.A year passed since a certain event and since then I don't even know what makes me like this... I'm plagued by constant migraine, my senses heightened, my body turned like this... I don't know anything. I need to look for the other to know what's going on. There's no way I can be this wounded just like that... I know that if I met my friends, I would know what's going on with me... and why I'm so eager to return to Southern Tropics."
Mana was confused and frustrated about this whole situation, and even the a slightly bit angry. She didn't know why, but she instinctively evaded the helping hand offered to her, almost as if... rejecting him. As dizzy as the redhead was, just one thought was clear on her head; she had been abandoned, maybe even betrayed by the friends she had held closest to her. Not exactly the best of feelings, but the spur of the moment was too much for her.
Of course, he was also ignorant of why he had missing, but that didn't make the situation any better. In fact, it just contributed to her confusion, almost like adding insult to the injury. Deep down, she knew that Ryouta wasn't at fault, but Mana wasn't exactly the most rational person right now.
"So freaking back to basics, huh." It was great, just great. "If you are the one needing the help the most, why do you insist on helping me? It doesn't make sense."
Of course, not much made sense for her right now, but... she just felt the need to make those questions, even though she felt the answer she'd get would dissatisfy her even further. It was... so frustrating.
Why he helped her? Why he helped her when he's the one who need the most help? He chuckled at the strange question that the past Mana would know already without her even knowing. His expression turned a bit melancholic, especially because she refused contact with him.
"..I guess that's because I love you? And plus, I think if your memory is recovered enough, you would already know that I'm a fool who would help people first without caring about my well being. It might be wrong focus, but so what? I think having you recovering your memory would be really great for me. It's selfish of me, I admit. But in the end... I wanted to know what happened to me too.. If we could pinpoint when exactly I was missing, then... I can probably get some clue... some clue about where my parents whereabout... where are my friends and such...
...but in the end, I'm just a selfish guy who's really content if his girlfriend remembers about him. That and hope that she would return to him, even if he have to beg for forgiveness for years to come."
Sometimes, Mana felt like tearing her hairs off at the words of this guy. Reaaaaally? Oh dammit, even if she felt like this was the beginning of a pretty long and dragged out sentimental mumbo jumbo, and while that would be something not so bad... she wasn't really up to it, especially since the answer she was given was tenuous at best.
"Geez..." It was a rather drawn out, long sigh. She really didn't know what to think or even how to feel about this. It was so confusing.
She just stood there, not really knowing how to react to Ryouta's words, at least at first.
"I... didn't ask for any of this, you know?" She croaked, almost choking on her own words. "I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to do about this, in all honesty. I'm just... confused."
Another sigh dragged itself into the air for some seconds that seemed to be an eternity for the girl, just before saying one last batch of words. For some reason, she didn't really want to say them, but she still did.
"I want to be alone." Those words had an air of finality in them. At least for now.
Perhaps Ryouta already can guess her reaction, so he just pouted. "...Well it's as frustrating as it is to you for me, seriously. What I can do anyway? I'm a sentimental guy I guess? But I understand that this is not the time. Shall we break this illusion? You get what you want. If you don't want mushy stuff then unfortunately I can't give you anything more than this. Let me be frank, you was a mushy girl... not that it's bad. At the same time you was the heart of many interaction afterall. You want to be alone? Well, that's fine with me. Just know that I'll be in my room after this though."
Soon, the sphere broke into pieces, and what sat beside Ryouta is...
"How rude. I saw someone mentioned my name, so I made myself home. Is that a bit too much? Plus there was only Ryu-kun around, but the awkward silence apparently too much for him so I told him I'll take over."
There sat a Kodamon, yet not a Kodamon. She's a Santhemon. Isana the Santhemon.
