Mon of the House ~ Eva (Finished)

Uh oh. Eva went on the offensive, grabbing Shirou by the throat and threatening him for answers. Keramon goes into a rage, and starts shooting out electricity. Shirou's partner digivolves to his Champion stage Chrysalimon. They wrap their cables around Dante and hold him hostage. While Shirou's self may be in harm's way without all of his fancy gadgets, he still had a way to save his skin. "Gah, Eva! Don't give in to your desire to hurt Shirou. We've all wanted to beat up Shirou before, and now we have learned to live with his eccentricities."
Shirou struggles to speak. "Computers, portals, generators, no other exit..." They were inside a virtual world, as if they had been downloaded onto a computer. Unless they had means to another portal, only Shirou would have the capabilities to leave. Red is flustered by the standoff, rubbing his hand through his hair and pacing back and forth. "I can't take this. I just want to get out. You losers ruin everything." Dante feels the cables wrap around even tighter. If Eva hurts Shirou, Dante's probably going to ride the lightning. Judith is concerned for both her brother and for Shirou. Stingmon aims his already charged energy cannon, ready to shoot Chrysalimon if anything happens to Dante.
If working along side the Handsome Boys wasn't bad enough, now it looks like the pale combination of Bill Gates and Napoleon, the digital entrepreneur himself was part of the team. Along with his partner who's about one frayed wire away from a power surge. And what of this Virus on the lose? Had Shirou's error created this digital anomaly? Or was it sent from an unknown party? What is it trying to accomplish? Anyone who ventures further into the factory would have to stay on guard. Under normal circumstances, the Handsome Boys would never ally with Dante and Shirou after their never ending feud. At least Judith wasn't dating Kano anymore, that was a relief. But the Tamer had more pressing concerns at the moment than who his sister was seeing.
Stingmon is growing more and more angry as the situation escalates. "Everyone just calm down! We need to work together to get out of this. Then we get to go our separate ways, and go back to having fun. But first, we need to get out of this stupid dark factory. I'm tired of being your Rudolph. It's dark, and spooky, and I wanna go home and play video games! And I definitely don't want Dante getting hurt. Or Shirou, even though he's a big stupid jerk, and this is all his fault." "This time you went too far, Shirou. But, maybe it wasn't all his fault? Maybe that virus made him go crazy?" "What? Shirou's always pulling stunts like this!" "True, but he would never try to kill us to get his hands on Eva. Maybe that virus just dialed up his evilness to 11?" Off in the distance, a strange noise can be heard. The sound of a deep growl of a beast, as the low rumble echoes through the factory. A yelp and a scream cries out. "Something's wrong. Babi's in trouble!" Could the virus have gotten to the injured Babi?

Eva glared from behind her visor, looking around at the scene. She targeted both Shirou and Keramon, her HUD lighting up with information, but, she shut it off after a couple of tense seconds, the blade retracting with the harsh sound of metal on metal as she dropped the nerd. Taking out both simultaneously would be a difficult thing to pull off even if she was at 100%. In this state? It would be near impossible to do before Keramon was able to electrocute Dante. She looked around, holding her rifle in her hands again where before it was just hanging from its sling. "You're a lucky man Shirou. For now. If you try anything like this again. ANYTHING. I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." She quickly gave her rifle a once over, rapidly changing the magazine and chambering the next round. If it's a computer simulation, shut it off. Didn't you install any failsafes or backups? Especially in a system that can seemingly injure us."
The fact that this was some sort of simulation brought up more and more questions. How was she even getting hurt in it? It could be some sort of "the mind makes it real" thing like in the Matrix, but, the mind wouldn't cause damage to her cybernetics. That said, Eva wasn't exactly sure how they all worked or fit together. She wasn't an engineer after all, nor an expert in any of the various fields that would make systems like that possible. Her only theory right now was that her cybernetics were picking this up as a simulation akin to the NanoWerx Industries training and combat testing programs and registering damage accordingly.
Eva just had one comment to make regarding the virus potentially taking Shirou over. "His simulation, his virus, his fault." Seemingly though, the fun wasn't over. Those big ears Eva had being a Renamon weren't just for show as she easily heard the... whatever it was moving around presumably what was the lounge. "Movement, probably at the lounge. Let's get moving people."

Upon the frazzled Cyborg letting go of Shirou, he falls to the ground. He then precedes to back away from Eva doing a crab walk toward the wall. His partner waits for Shirou to look over and nod, signaling to release Dante. Chrysalimon releases him from the cables, and Dante stands over by Stingmon. Chrysalimon flies over in front of Shirou. "Oh it's quite complicated. You see, through uploading your data onto a system created specifically for uh, interdimensional portals..." Leo speaks up. "I don't know anything about your technology, but even I know that's a load of bull." "Right, well, think of it like being in the Digital World. I'm just creating more space. However, the only way I can close down the file is if the power comes on. Reactivate the generators, and then we'll talk. Just, don't hurt me." "Ya, well, we will get to that bridge when we cross to it, man."
The group goes back to the lounge to check on Babi. Shirou and Chrysalimon stay behind. Dante stops and turns to Shirou. "What do you think you're doing?" "We will stay here and wait." "No, we can't trust you. Come on." "Oh, alright. But don't think I won't double cross you if I get the chance." Dante approaches Shirou, but is blocked by the cables. Shirou wags his finger. "Nuh uh uh." "You're not going to make this easy are you?" Shirou slowly walks towards the lounge. "There once was a Stingmon from Nantucket... What? I didn't get any other lines this post."
Red enters the lounge and sees Babi laying on the ground. The Handsome Boys rush over and check on their brother-in-armpit wax. "Babi! What happened, who did this?" "Ohhaooh, R-Red.." "Damn it, he needs care bad. We need to get him out of here." Dante saw Red in a new light. Sure, he and his idiot friends are stuck up d-bags, always giving Dante trouble. But this time, Dante saw why Red was their leader. He really cared about his friend and took charge. "Don't you have some kind of first aid station or something in this stupid factory?" "Why actually, yes. We can take him to the infirmary. There we can at least administer some morphine and monitor his heart rate. He may have internal injuries. We should get him there quickly."
Red goes to pick Babi up. "Careful when you move him." "The infirmary is this way." "We'll go with Shirou. Eva, Dante, Stingmon, you can reach the generators." "Are you sure you can trust Shirou? If we're not around..." "There's no time! We have to save Babi, and we need to get the generators on so we can get out of here." Judith grabs Dante by the sleeve. "You go with Eva and Stingmon. I'll make sure Shirou doesn't pull any tricks." "I'm not going to leave you alone with Shirou, or those, err, strangely well groomed men." Red took notice. Dante actually resisted the chance to insult the Handsome Boys. Baby steps. "Shirou's not going to get away with anything with us around." "Because it's working out well for you so far..." The Handsome Boys go with Shirou and his Digimon partner towards the infirmary. Judith, Eva, Stingmon, and Dante are left to venture the dark factory. Though which way does Eva want to go?

Although before she wasn't exactly too enthused about the idea of splitting up, it was certainly a relief to be without the idiots. It meant Eva could actually do things properly without constant bickering. Once again she was searching the area in a slow, but steady and systematic manner, checking the sightlines, watching for traps such as tripmines, and of course being on the lookout for something as helpful as a big sign saying "emergency generator". She was essentially trying to figure out the most logical place for a generator to be. Sure, this was just a simulation but it seemingly -did- follow the laws of physics.
That though, led her to looking around the lower floors and basement level, which, if horror tropes are to be believed would be exactly the sort of place a monster would be hiding out. Eva was being extremely quiet and stealthy as she moved through the facility, communicating only in very hushed tones and hand signals, after all, she didn't exactly want to encounter whatever that thing was. If she was at 100% she would have been far more confident but getting into yet another fight with potentially a very powerful adversary wasn't exactly high on the list of things she wanted to do.

Shirou and the others had split off to head to the infirmary to treat Babi. They have Keramon to power on lights as needed. The rest of the group goes further down into the bowels of the factory in search for the generators. Dante and Judith have to stick close by to Stingmon, as they can't see very far, unlike Eva. However, something still lurks inside the factory, waiting in the shadows. They reach a sign above the doorway that says the generator room is further ahead. "All right. We are getting close, you guys."
They continue on. Dante can hear water dropping from a machine that malfunctioned during the outage. Then the sound fades, as he hears something else, traveling along the ground. "Stingmon, can you shine your light over there?" "I'm on it." Stingmon points his energy cannon towards the wall. They catch a glimpse of a dark figure passing by. "What was that?!" "I think that's the virus! Everyone stay close together." Judith and Dante stick close to Eva and Stingmon the strategist. Judith's legs are trembling, and her teeth are shattering.
All of a sudden, some cables much like Keramon's slither across the floor. They head towards Dante and wrap around his legs. "Argh, what's going on here?!" The cables drag Dante into the shadows. Judith goes to grab Dante's hand, but they are too late. "Dante!" Stingmon looks over at Eva and nods. "Let's kick some monster ass." Stingmon grabs ahold of Judith and chases after Dante. He fires his energy cannon, trying to break the line of cables. More cables emerge from the shadows, surrounding Stingmon. They strike the King of Sting like blades, slicing into his armor. Judith tucks her face into Stingmon's chest. Stingmon switches his hand guarding Judith, and uses his energy spike to swat at the cables. More cables rise up, going after Eva. "This isn't good. I only like fighting when I can bash the enemy in the face. We don't even know what the heck we are fighting!"

"Aha. A sign. That means the people who built this temple must have been civilised."
Eva's voice was just dripping with sarcasm right now. Safe to say she hated this. She hated this a -lot-. With her cybernetic eyes she could at the very least detect this creature, albeit only briefly as it moved around going from concealment to concealment. She couldn't get a solid shot off at it, or really accurately predict where the heck it was going to go next, however, she had an idea as soon as it started throwing weird... tentacle things everywhere. Insert a joke about Japan here folks!
"Nope, no. I was wrong. This obviously means they were sava- Ah crap!"
Her sarcasm was cut short by the sudden strange appendage gripping her leg, however, with that she had a pretty good idea where the virus was, able to quickly follow it with her eyes back to the creature itself before letting out a burst from her rifle at it.

The cybernetic covered fox follows the cables along the ground and fires at the virus. Some of the rounds hit the dark figure. The monster then goes after some of the machines in the room, starting a fire. The light from the flames allows the rest of the group to see clearly. The cables dragging Dante rise up, holding him upside down in mid air. Stingmon again switches hands, back to his energy cannon. He fires a few blasts at the attacking cyber tentacles, before taking aim and firing a blast at the cables around Dante's legs.
The blast incinerates the cables, and Dante goes falling towards the ground. Using his dexterity, he lands in a handstand before leaning back and landing on his feet. A little disoriented, Dante feels fortunate for not being dropped on his head. The cables begin to retract towards the virus. The dark figure rises up along the wall, finally visible to the group. It looks like a pitch black cross between Shirou and Keramon, with some purple tint. His hair and face are connected as one, his mouth wide open like Keramon's, and his hair long and wild. The wires appear to be connected to where his legs would be, as his torso and lower body forms a ghostly tail. His body consists of dark data, slowly shifting around as he moves.
"Ah, it's so wonderful to make your acquaintance!" "W-...What is that thing?!" "Is this another one of your tricks, Shirou?" "Shirou? Oh, I am not Shirou. Though I must say that I do like his style. His technology made it easy for me to lure you all here." "If you're not that pale nerd, then, what are you exactly?" "I am a virus that has become self aware. While unsure of my creator, I was uploaded to Shirou's mainframe. There, I could tap into all of his research. Soon, I realized that since this Shirou is nothing more than a computer program at this point, I could hack directly into him, and awaken his dark heart!"
"So, Shirou wasn't 100% in control." "Oh, don't get me wrong. I didn't have to sway him much. Shirou already intended to trap you here in a world of his creation, so that he could understand Eva's schematics. But he would never want to place the three of you in TOO much harm." The virus points towards Dante, Judith, and Stingmon. "However, after calculating the odds, I decided that your presence was a security risk, and I set out to eradicate you, and remove you from the equation." "Weird. So then, if you are not one of Shirou's programs, what do we call you?" "I never really thought about what my name is. I just knew that I needed to absorb information. And once I downloaded Shirou's information, I wanted to continue to expand upon his research. I guess you can call me... Phantom Shirou, or the Phantom for short. Yes, I like that name. I learned much about your world from the data I gathered, Dante's smoking routine, Judith's bra size, but more importantly, Stingmon's battle data." Several cables rise up around the room, surrounding the group from all angles. "I'm going to enjoy consuming your data." some of the cables jet towards the group. This was there last obstacle. If they can defeat the Phantom, and get the generator back on, they can escape this nightmarish factory.

Eva didn't really care enough to listen to whatever sort of creature this is' talk. It was a threat that needed to be eliminated, and she planned to do that as quickly as possible. She quickly activated the cloak, seemingly vanishing into thin air before moving to flank. Despite the previous electrical damage the cloak seemed to be holding strong as she moved in, nanoblade poised and ready to strike. The way it and her comrades seemed to want to stop for chit chat was certainly something to her advantage, adding a layer of distraction to her stealth ambush. Her intention was very much to end this in one swift and brutal attack.
WEAPONS TARGETING ENGAGED.
ADAPTIVE CAMO ONLINE
AMMUNITION: 30:30
TARGETING VECTOR LOCKED IN
BLADES DEPLOYED
VITAL POINT TARGETING ENGAGED
[--X--]
The digimon did not delay for an instant, unleashing an absolutely ferocious and explosive attack at the virus. She started with the nanoblades, first aiming to impale it through the skull, following up with a point blank fully automatic burst from her rifle. Her cybernetics could more or less control the recoil of firing a weapon one handed, but, her accuracy was reduced, not that it mattered this close up. Even after that, she wasn't finished, keeping up the momentum and hitting it with everything she had, slashing with the reaper nanoblade until it snapped, resorting to straight up pummelling the creature into submission with her heavily reinforced fists.

The four friends found themselves surrounded by the Phantom's slithering wires. They were playing on his home court now. Stingmon dashes around in the air, dodging cables and firing his energy cannon. Judith and Dante try to run away from the cables. They take cover behind an outdated arcade machine Shirou had laying around, but the cables appear from the other side and wrap around the siblings, binding them against the machine. Eva is dealing out all the offense she can muster. The Phantom quickly creeps across the walls, avoiding most of the attacks. "Damn it. With his speed, and all theses cables, we can't catch a break."
The cables wrapping around Dante and Judith start to get tighter and tighter. Dante's arm becomes bound to the side of the machine, a cable digging into his wrist. He feels the cables tightening around his waist. It feels like his insides are going to burst out. Judith thrashes about, struggling to get away from the Phantom's invasive grasp. "Argh, Stingmon! Help!" "I'm coming, you guys." Stingmon flies towards the siblings, but a series of wires all wrapped around together the size of a tree trunk rises up and swats Stingmon like a fly. (Thinking) "Now I'm really mad! I need to Digivolve, but I've been fighting practically all day I'm exhausted. But still, Dante, Judith, Eva, they need me. Even Shirou and those effeminate jerkasses are counting on us. I just don't have anything left to give! Gotta think, if I can just summon the strength to digivolve..."
More cables begin rising up from the walls, as Phantom Shirou extends his control over more of the factory. "I can feel it. Yes, this power. I will dispose of you pathetic sheep as well as the others. Then I shall use this factory to carry out Shirou's ultimate plans, and build the perfect sex robot! I mean, take over the world!" More cables launch towards Eva. A wave of wires lashes at the cybernetic fox like whips. Cables begin to wrap around Stingmon's arms and legs, pulling him down into a massive pile of weaving cables. Soon, Dante and Judith are almost completely covered with cables. Stingmon's energy begins to fade, as his energy cannon powers down. He is slowly dragged down into the wires.
Stingmon slips into a state of unconsciousness. Suddenly he finds himself in a black void. "What is this place?" As he moves around, he sees an after image of his hands. "That's strange. Maybe somehow I was ejected from the program or something." Stingmon looks around. He sees a pair of young children playing with a big red ball. "Hey, that looks like Dante and Judith, but a lot younger." The kids bounce the ball back and forth, higher and higher. The ball starts to turn dark purple. Cables emerge from the ball and reach out, ensnaring the children. The young boy reaches towards Stingmon and calls out. "Please, save us!" Stingmon's heart sinks. He goes to move, but his body tightens up. "No! I've gotta do something to help them. What did I ever do to deserve this? Everyone else is always doing stupid things, and getting me in trouble. All I want is to eat, play video games, and party. Wait, no. This isn't about what I want. It's about doing what's best for my friends. I've got to protect them. They are counting on me."
Stingmon closes his eyes. He tries to relax his body as much as possible. A piece of his lost memories from his former life as the Goddess of Destruction opens up. Suddenly Stingmon's body becomes flooded with energy. A bright flash of energy erupts from inside the sea of cables. The Spider Queen Archnemon rises up. "Rrraaawwwrargh! You're not going to hurt the ones I love anymore!" More cables attack Archnemon, but she swats them away with her legs. She crawls along the cables and makes her way over to Dante and Judith. The Spider Queen slices through the cables with her razor sharp fangs. Dante and Judith fall forward, gasping for air. "You really came through for us." "It's not over yet."
Phantom Shirou continues dodging Eva. Dante and Judith climb up and sit on Archnemon's back. "Hold on tight!" Archnemon makes her way towards the center of the room. She starts sprays out silk, making a giant spider web. The cables start to get stuck in the web. Archnemon continues expanding her web, until ultimately the Phantom flies into it and becomes stuck momentarily. "Now's your chance, Eva! Finish off that bozo once and for all!" _____________________
Spider's Layer: Creates a large spider web. Archnemon gains increased agility while on the web. Opponents who touch the web are stuck in place for 2 posts. Web lasts for 6 posts. 3 post cooldown.

Eva just couldn't get a solid bead on the fast moving target even with her advanced training and technology she could only manage to get some glancing blows on target. Nonetheless those glances were still causing damage, bursts from her rifle shredding several tentacles while her own agility plus solid inorganic appendages were making it rather difficult for the virus to get a hold of the digimon, and those that did manage to get a grip were destroyed in relatively quick order. Nonetheless, it was putting Eva very much on the defensive rather than being able to keep up the blistering offensive pace she was at before.
This battle was starting to put even more wear and tear on her systems, warnings, flashing red rather than their typical orange flicking past her vision until finally, the inevitable happened.
WARNING: LEFT LEG ARTIFICIAL MUSCLE CRITICAL FAILURE.
WARNING: LEFT KNEE JOINT LOCKED
WARNING: RIGHT ARM, RIGHT LEG, LEFT ARM ARTIFICIAL MUSCLE MICROTEARS DETECTED. FAILURE IMMINENT.
EMERGENCY: COMBAT INEFFECTIVE. WITHDRAW IMMEDIATELY.
It was just that brief moment that the creature needed, the brief moment before Eva could hope to compensate as her leg ground to a halt with the screeching of metal on metal was all it took for it to wrap its tendrils around her waist and lift her in the air, effectively immobilising her as it began to constrict.
WARNING: SPINE PRESSURE CRITICAL.
WARNING: FRACTURE IMMINENT.
Everything seemed to start moving as if it was in slow motion for Eva. Despite the carnage there was a strange beauty to it all. The intense muzzleflashes from her rifle sending out rippling balls of flame, the rounds impacting on the creature and walls with miniature detonations, molten jagged remnants of tungsten penetrator rounds flying like brilliant sparks against the pitch darkness.
Her vision started to fade, the tiny lenses losing their focus as digital glitching and noise filled her sight. She barely remained awake and alert as she was finally dropped to the floor once Wormmon recovered and locked the hostile down. With it immobilised like this, she did the first thing that came to her head to make sure that the virus was well and truly out of commission, taking the rest of her grenades, sticking it to the web right next to it, and yanking out the pins before diving for cover as fast as she could with her damaged leg.
"Get down!"

The wear and tear of battle had also taken its toll on Eva. She started suffering from mechanical failures, and her leg locked up. Through the pain, she managed to place grenades around the Phantom virus and remove the pins. The grenades detonate and trigger a massive explosion. Phantom Shirou is incinerated by the energy unleashed. The web around him blown to pieces by the grenades, the Phantom falls to the ground. His data starts to faze in and out. The cables all go limp, and his lower body starts to shrivel up. He lays on the ground, gasping for air. "Argh! Why did you do this? I could have changed the world."
Dante and Judith approach the virus. Dante turns to Eva and nods, before looking down at Phantom Shirou in pity. "You are a virus created to destroy. Had you succeeded, you only would of caused chaos and damage to the city. I know you think that you have an identity, and the fact that you've copied so much of Shirou's consciousness makes this hard for me." "No, you don't understand. It would all be for the greater good. I would expand his research, and develop incredible technology that could help the world." "Shirou may be a brilliant science geek, but his ideas need a filter. If left to his own devices, his pride gets the better of him, and he turns on his friends. That's one of the reasons why Shirou is still my friend, even after all the stupid stunts he pulls. Shirou may think highly of himself, but he still falls."
The Phantom lays there on the ground, looking up at the group. "Maybe there is some truth to what you are saying. Shirou is lucky to have you as his friends. Please, look after him for me, Dante. If this is really all I am, a virus created to carry out destruction, then perhaps it is for the best that I failed." Phantom Shirou's body continues to fade into bits of data. He appearance changes to that of Shirou's. Judith walks over to the Phantom and leans down. She gives him a kiss on the lips. The Phantom's eyes turn dark as he takes his last breath. His body disappears, leaving behind only a cd. Dante and Archnemon start freaking out. "Eww that's disgusting! Why did you kiss that thing?! This is an all time low, even by your standards!" "Would you calm down?! I did it because I know that's what Shirou would have wanted. He was willing to die, and I gave him peace." "Still, that's like, making out with the toaster!"
Judith picks up the cd and snaps it in two. "There. Now let's go find the generator." Archnemon devolves down to her In training form Minomon. Dante picks his partner up and gives him a big hug. "You two really came through for us." "Thanks, Dante! But now I'm so tired from all the battling. All the running, flying, let's just get home, eat a big dinner, and go to bed." The group continues on through the factory. They reach the generator room, which is lit up by backup lights. "Here we go. Looks like the main one is out. So let's just get the backup online." Judith pulls the lever down, activating the backup generator. The power starts to come on throughout the factory. The group heads back to where they last saw the others, and head to the infirmary.
Inside, Babi is laying down on the table. Keramon is monitoring his vitals with his cables. Shirou approaches the group. "Great job getting the power back on." "Is Babi going to be alright?" "He'll be fine. He just needs to rest for a couple days." Leo looks concerned for Eva. Red walks up to Dante. "Maybe you guys aren't so bad after all. Now let's get out of here." "Now that the power is on, I can open a portal from the main computer. But if I let you out, how do I know that you are not going to attack me?" "You can trust us..." Shirou leads the group back with Kano carrying Babi this time. Shirou approaches the control panel. "It's just going to take a moment to charge up." People start exchanging awkward glances. No one really knows who is going to do what to Shirou as soon as they leave. Would they all just start attacking him at the same time? What would Keramon do in return? Only Minomon doesn't pick up on the vibe. "Are we going to beat up Shirou later or not?"

Every fibre in Eva's being wanted to just shoot the already disintegrating virus in the head to finish it, just in case the thing had a few more surprises left up its sleeve or something, however, both the reactions from her comrades and something it said stopped the digimon from simply shouldering her rifle and doing just that. The same rationale as NanoWerx Industries.
"No, you don't understand. It would all be for the greater good. I would expand his research, and develop incredible technology that could help the world."
The digimon gave the virus a steely glare, only adding just a subtle hint of rage in her otherwise relatively neutral tone as she managed to stand to her full height despite her badly damaged knee, picking up a broken steel pipe for support.
"Greater good? Helping the world? You sound a lot like a man I know. His methods too could be considered controversial. There's a difference though, I, even after all he and his company has done trust his intentions. I trust his goals, his reasoning, his strength of character. I can say for god damn certain that unlike him I don't trust a word out of your mouth. You tried to kill us, virus. Just how much more blood would you have spilled for your "greater good"? How many people would you have turned into weapons like me, knowing full well unlike him of the damage you were doing?" She paused, her voice softening as she took a deep breath and gave her answer. "One more person going through what I did, is one too many."
After the virus finally evaporated into data, and the strange... CD thing was snapped the digimon seemed rather quiet, managing to just about keep up with the rest of the team still leaning on that piece of piping acting as a makeshift crutch and with her rifle slung over her shoulder. In fact, she didn't say anything until they were out of the portal and back into the real world, Shirou wondering what the assembled group was going to do. Eva was rather conflicted on this herself. On the one hand, to say that she was still annoyed was the understatement of the century. On the other, if what that virus said was true, those actions were not entirely his own doing, nonetheless, it wouldn't take too much in order for him to try such a thing for real.
She settled on limping up to him, weaponry still very much in hand, ready to as her cybernetics made a menacing whirr as she stared the nerd down from behind the mirrored "shades" eye protection, her voice lowering to a rather intimidating growl. "Shirou. If you don't attempt something along these lines again, this'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not hunt you down. But if you do? I will look for you. I will find you. And I will kill you." Eva could have sworn she had heard a very similar line spoken somewhere before, perhaps a movie? She just couldn't put her finger on it, but, that was of no matter. It nicely conveyed the message she was trying to send.

It appears Eva drew a comparison between Phantom Shirou's words and someone she knows. Dante sees that she feels very strongly about this person. Was this a side to Eva that he hasn't seen before? Shirou's portal powers up, and the group travels through a stream of data, reappearing in an abandoned factory. The only light is piercing in through the windows at the top of the walls. The sun was setting, and it filled the factory with a dark orange tint. Red approaches Shirou and punches him in the stomach. Shirou drops to his knees, grabbing his chest. Red Veemon runs up to Red, and Red picks him up and puts him on his shoulder. Wormmon crawls up Dante's leg and sits on his shoulder.
Red walks up to Dante, and they stare each other down. "Don't think this changes anything between us, Dante." Dante nods. "I wouldn't have it any other way. Take care of yourselves." Red turns and walks back to his group, but then turns around to address the others as a whole. "Thank you." The Handsome Boys go to walk away, but Leo runs up to Eva, and gives her a big hug. Though he was careful not to hurt her in her damaged state. "Goodye, Eva." Leo lets go and catches up with his friends. Four shadows appear on the wall as the Handsome Boys exit the factory.
Shirou groans, and slowly stands up. "Don't worry, I'm not going to pull anything like this again. I've learned my lesson. Besides, the ice cream factory has been a lot more profitable than manufacturing robots. Looks like I don't really need NanoWerx's blueprints after all." "Hey Shirou?" Dante raises his hand and points at Shirou. He points his fingers like a gun and pretends to shoot Shirou. "Bang." Shirou just laughs. The two of them had gotten to know each other well. If Dante was going to chew Shirou out for being a creepy evil little bastard again, he would only be repeating himself. Judith addresses Shirou with her hands on her hips, sneering at Shirou. "You better not do anything this stupid again! You need to take a good long look in the mirror and realize what you did wrong. Otherwise I'm not going to allow Dante to hang out with you anymore." "Allow me?!" "Haha, your sister is the boss of you!"
Shirou crouches down and looks up at Judith with puppy dog eyes, his hands posed like paws next to his face. "No! Bad dog!" Judith taps Shirou on the forehead with her foot, pushing him over. "Come on, we're leaving." Judith storms off in a huff. Dante sighs and follows. Keramon just hovers there next to Shirou, concerned for his Tamer. "Don't worry, Keramon. We can rebuild. Besides, Eva's cybernetics didn't seem to be that resilient after all. I must return to my research. But not before we play some video games first. Also, do you know when the new love pillow I ordered is due to arrive?" Keramon smiles. Dante, Eva, Judith, and Wormmon head back to the house to unwind after a crazy day.

To say Eva was taken by surprise at this sudden hug was an understatement. She just stood there for a moment, trying to figure out why this person was randomly hugging her. She probably would have hugged back, but, a lot of problems in the previous firefight were caused by overheating artificial muscle fibre bundles overheating, meaning that her legs and arms were still scalding hot. Sure, she was protected by plenty of insulation to ensure that such a thing wouldn't simply cook -her-, but, if someone was to touch her arms or legs right about now? While of course it wouldn't do anything nearly as dramatic as set someone on fire, or burn the flesh from their bones it could very well leave a mild first degree burn mark. Of course, Eva knew this, and moved her arms away so that this friendly gesture wouldn't turn into cooking the only one of this group that she actually didn't mind too much.
"Wouldn't recommend you touch me right now, you might end up burning yourself."
Once they were at the house, Eva actually had time to sit down and examine the damage done her leg, carefully removing the sleek carbon fibre panelling and looking at the joint underneath. Apparently it had been warped from just the sheer amount of heat, which in turn was causing the artificial muscles to snag and get caught in the mechanism. Her cybernetics, while undoubtedly effective were merely prototypes. Fully capable of combat in typical "real world" conflicts, but of course NanoWerx had no real way of designing them for long battles in the digital world.
Bending it back and reshaping it wasn't too hard a task, after all, something that she did have being half "robot", was greatly enhanced strength. She was finding this so simple in fact, that she even absently mindedly started to softly half hum, half sing as she worked. Surprisingly, it turned out Eva had a hidden talent. An unexpectedly beautiful singing voice.

Leo's unexpected hug caught Eva off guard, but fortunately she kept him safe from her overheated equipment. The last thing the Handsome Boys needed was another member of their poster boy crew to be taken to the hospital. The gang returned home to unwind after one crazy day. Dante and Wormmon are in the living room playing video games while Eva is working on repairs. The others wanted to help, but wouldn't know what went where. Wormmon attempted to reassemble a gaming system with triple the memory, but it didn't go so well.
Judith walks into the living room and sits down on the couch between Dante and Wormmon. "You guys play way too many video games." "That just occurred to you?" "We need to play games to kick back after going on adventures. We went to the mall, played baseball, and then Shirou went and Oops I did it again, Baby-ed us. I just want to relax without you nagging all the time." "And I want to watch TV." "No boyfriend, no TV, aww, I'm sorry, sis. Things just don't seem to be looking up for you lately." "You're such a jerk. It's not like you can get a girlfriend." "Does this mean you and Kano are done? No more Juno? No more Kanudith? And now you've been reduced to kissing a machine. Do I need to get the coffee machine a restraining order?"
The three ne'er-do-wells continue to bicker on the couch. Dante and Wormmon team up on Judith and make fun of her love life. Then they notice Eva humming in the next room as she starts to sing. "Eva, you have a wonderful voice!" "That's right, we never got to do karaoke." Judith gets up and yanks the cords out of the gaming console. "NO! I DIDN'T GET TO SAVE!" "Why, Judith?!" "You owe us a karaoke party." Judith storms upstairs with the system. Dante and Wormmon turn to each other and sigh. "Well, I hope you can stand to stay here a while, Eva." "Ya, having Eva around is so cool. She doesn't take any bull from you and that ninny!" "Judith's just upset because she can't get a man. At least a decent one." "Shut up, Dante! Eva and I are gonna be running the ship now. The Digimon are in charge!" Eva stayed at the Palladino house, for as long as she could tolerate living with Wormmon.
