Louis lies on the soft grass of Shibuki Forest, his blue furball of a digimon dozing off on his chest. The moon shines softly through the trees, dappling the pair with the shadows of dancing leaves.
"I guess we should give you a name, huh?" Louis says, ruffling his partner's fur absently.
"Stop that," the digimon grumbles, shaking off Louis's hand. "Don't do that 'ruffling' thing. It's bad for my fur. Chuckling, Louis smooths his fur back down flat.
"Sorry, sorry. Really though, "blumon" is just so..." He gestures vaguely, searching for the words.
"It's my 'species', not my 'name.'" the blumon says, bright green eyes closing in comprehension.
"Yeah! So, what would your name be? We met in that... place, right? That voidy... thing? So... Void, maybe?"
The furball snorts, stretching. "That is a tremendously bad name. I'm... Haze." Louis pouts at the comment, but when he hears 'Haze', he perks up.
"Haze." He mutters, letting the word roll off his tongue. "Yeah!" Louis jumps up, the newly-christened Haze in his arms. "Haze! Haze Haze Haze!" Laughing, he jumps up and down, letting Haze bounce ever-so-slightly with him.
"You're being very loud." Haze hisses, mainly out of embarrassment, but Louis ignores him anyways.
"No one's even here! Don't be so uptiiiiiiight!" Louis laughs, unaware of how incredibly wrong he is.

Kami stopped as he spotted something in a tree, quickly holding his hand up for Megan to stop to. Megan did, as she followed Kami's gaze to see that they had finally found what they were looking for. The pair had been wondering through the forest for the past hour or so, trying there best to see if they could find one, and there it was. A rare and endangered owl that had now called the Shibuya Forest it's home. Megan smiled as she saw this, pulling out her digital camera and carefully setting it up so that the owl would be visible even in these dark condition, without disturbing the owl in the process. She then aimed the camera at the owl, zooming it in so the picture would be in focus then...
A kids laughter could be heard echoing through the forest, scaring off the owl right before Megan could take the shot. Megan cursed softly as she lost all track of where her quarry had flown off to, and finding that tonight's efforts have proven to be fruitless. She sighed as she put her camera away, seeing Kami trying to get her attention as she did so.
"What happened? Was the owl spook?" Kami signed curiously, knowing full well that Megan had missed her pic from the expression on her face.
"I don't know. I think some kid's laughter may have spooked him off." She signed in reply.
"What is a kid doing out here at this time at night?"
"I don't know, but I think we should go and find out." She watched as Kami mull the thought over for a bit, before nodding in agreement. Then, with that, they began walking through the forest in search of the kid or kids who had caused her to miss her shot at getting a picture of the owl she's been looking for for the past hour.

Louis's laughter stops short as he hears someone padding towards them.
"What?? No one comes here at night! It's haunted!" he groans, grabbing his backpack. "Quick, hide! Do the stuffed animal act!" He unzips the largest pocket, attempting to get Haze in before they're discovered.
"I don't think so." Haze hisses. "I am not getting in that nasty bag, Louis." Louis's jaw drops in disbelief.
"Haze! We are going to get caught!" He growls, frustrated beyond belief, but he zips the bag back up anyways. The blue furball goes ragdoll limp, letting his bright green eyes stare vacantly into the distance.
"You are way too good at that..." Louis mutters, slinging the bag over his shoulder. He dashes towards the forest's entrance, only to crash straight into something small and blonde.
"Oh, jesus! I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking..." He wrings his hands in embarrassment and shame, hoping the kid wouldn't be too upset.

((I'm so sorry how long it has taken me to get around to making this post. I've been very distracted recently and it didn't help that my muse has been in a slump too  )) As they walked through the forest in search for the kid who had caused Megan to miss her picture, Megan stopped as she could of swore she heard something. Kami turned to look at her, wondering why she had suddenly stopped. However, before he could attempt to ask, he found himself completely caught off guard as he was tackled and knocked onto the ground. "Kami!" Megan exclaimed as she noticed what had happen before picking him up. After confirming that he was alright, her attention turned to the kid, or teenager rather, who had managed to knock Kami off his feet. "What are you doing out here? Do you know how late it is?" She said to him in a chastising tone. Kami, meanwhile, just stared at the boy as he sensed something off about him. |

you're fine, budroo! life does that thing sometimes.The blonde kid Louis had just careened into was picked up and fussed over by an older lady, and before Louis can even open his mouth to apologize, she totally rails into him. Jesus, she sounds like dad. he thinks, before he registers that she's asked him a question.
"Oh! Uh, well, we heard the place was haunted... soooooo we came to check it out?" It sounds bad even to Louis, and he glances down at Haze apologetically. Haze is still doing the toy act, but he can still feel those bright green eyes shooting daggers at him.

Rumors that these woods were haunted huh? Well that wasn't anything new. Shibuki Forest was famous for stories about how it was haunted or people seeing strange things. In fact, there was even one time Megan heard people talk about seeing a ghostly white wolf wondering through the forest several months ago, though there was no proof to any of these sitings.
With all that said though. Megan couldn't help, but notice something strange about what the boy had just said.
"We?" She asked, obviously wanting Louis to elaborate on this. She honestly hoped that this didn't mean there were any more kids running around in the forest tonight seeing how it would then become her job as a responsible adult to find them all and send them back home before anything bad happens to them.
Meanwhile, Kami adjusted his fake glasses as his eyes locked onto the "stuff animal" Louis was holding as he sensed something familiar about it. It didn't take him to fully recognize what he was looking at. It was something so obvious that he was mentally facepalming himself for not recognizing it sooner. After all, he had done the whole stuff animal act himself numerous of times.

"...We?" Louis asked, confused. Had he said 'we?'
"Oh, uh. Yeah! My friend went the other way. He totally thought you were a ghost. Totally freaked." He laughed nervously, attempting to salvage the situation. He stroked Haze absently, ignoring the way his eyes bored into him.
It took all of Haze's willpower to refrain from rolling his eyes at Louis's pathetic attempt at a lie. His patience was starting to wear thin, especially since the blond kid just kept staring.
"You know what? To hell with it." Haze growled, stretching. He crawled up Louis's arm to rest on his head, ignoring Louis's protests.
"What are you doing??" Louis hissed, although he still held himself steady so that Haze wouldn't fall.
"You're a terrible liar, they were getting suspicious, and frankly, I don't care if one random human finds out about digimon. Not like anyone's gonna believe her." |

After Louis attempted to try to save his lie, it seemed that his "stuff animal" had enough with all of this as he yelled out and began climbing ontop of the boy's head. This did catch Megan off guard, causing her to take a sudden step back out of instinct. A split second later though she figured out what exactly just happened.
"Ohh... Well that explains a lot. I should of guessed you were a Tamer. And one pretty new at it too, it seems." Megan said, her tone of voice changing to a much more understanding one then what it was earlier.
Kami stepped back to Megan's side with a smirk on his face as he was proven correct. Though what this meant now though has remain unseen. So Kami kept his attention focused on the boy and his digimon.

"Oh man, I thought we were in so much trouble..." Louis sighed, sagging a little with relief.
"So where's the digimon?" Haze asked, watching the blonde kid carefully. He didn't look like a digimon, but the way he was studying them so carefully was suspicious. And why hadn't he said anything?
"You could at least say hi first..." Louis sighed. I'm Louis, and this rude li'l guy is Haze."

((Sorry for how late this is...))
"Well, it's nice to meet you both, Louis and Haze. I'm Megan, and this is Kami." She said with her arms crossed, introducing themselves.
She looked over at Kami and tapped her wrist to symbolized that he should remove his holosuit. Kami nodded as he did what she suggested and pressed a button on his watch that turned off the turtle's holosuit, revealing the turtle digimon's true form. Kami then made a shy wave to the pair.
"So what are you two doing out here anyways? These woods aren't exactly a safe place to walk around in at night, even with your digital partner there."
