As Matt lays on his bed, head covered by his pillow, you can hear his soft whimpering. The room itself seems to be a mess, clothes, comics, cards everywhere. But yet it seems like all those things are in place, sure its a mess but its beautiful by nature, maybe its the addition of the photo on the ground that makes it look so grand, or even the moonlight shining through the window reflecting off the dust in the air. Something about his room added an almost surreal effect, all to be ruined by him crying into a pillow.
Matt starts to calm down a bit, as he realized he didn't want to wake up his mother. "Oh man...i should probably go for a walk, clear my head, otherwise i'm going to be a huge mess." as he then takes a deep breath and sits up. He puts the pillow up against the wall beside his bed, slaps his cheeks twice and stands up. Wipes the remnants of the tears off of his face, and sighs. "ugh...why today of all days..." he says to himself. He then looks at the floor and sees the picture just laying there as if it was a snowflake that had fallen from the sky ever so gently onto his mess of a floor. "Why did you have to go...why couldn't have been me instead?" he wonders this all the time, but today it just hit him harder than usual.
He then puts on his sweater and grabs his toque, he then starts to head towards his door. As he gets closer to his door he can hear the floor creaking ever so softly, like if his mom is outside. "Mom...i'm okay i promise" he states as he opens the door.
"Oh, Matt you are awake, i-i just thought i heard crying..." says Matt's mother Ms. Kayne.
"I was, but it's okay just my usual guilt that's all it was..." he takes a deep breath and gives his mom a hug. "I'm going to go out for a walk, clear my head a little." as he squeezes a bit tighter.
"Matt! It's 1 in the morning, you should be in bed." his mother replies.
"It's only 1, who needs sleep?" He says as he lets go and walks down the hallway. As he gets to the front door his mother tells him something, but he's too deep in thought to hear her. He puts his shoes on and heads out the door. "Man, it's actually quite a nice night out tonight." He puts his hands into his pockets as soon as he closes the front gate. Matt then wanders down the street and all you can hear is a soft grumble in his stomach as he walks away.
Matt makes it to the corner store, and starts browsing all the snacks, he regrets not eating his late night snack, but chips will do. The store seems to be livelier than usual, couple kids younger than him causing a ruckus at the counter, a mother or what seems to be a mother buying diapers and other unmentionables, and a girl just standing outside the glass, just looking in. It seems to Matt that she is just people watching, and he kinda feels a tad bit awkward being in the store. The kids leave as he's coming up to the till, he pays for his chips and then leaves the store. Surprisingly the girl watching through the glass has not moved, maybe the 'mother' was buying those things for her? Who knows, society can be a bit weird at times. Matt has his chips and continues to walk down the street.

"Kuu, we need to go home."
"No we don't!"
"Yes, we do."
"But I'm exploring!"
Having lost track of time in the Digital World, Maia and her holosuited partner had found themselves returning to the station far later than anticipated. Now, while the girl was trying to think about how to sneak back into her house, Kuu was busy trying to find something to investigate. Digimon really knew nothing of curfews, did they?
Fingers tapped away at a touch screen phone, trying to reassure her mother that she wasn't dead. "I'm not getting grounded a second time because of you," the teen was quick to insist. The last time, she had been technology-less for two months! If she couldn't reel her partner in soon, there was no way they were going to avoid getting in trouble!
The situation was only worsened after the 'boy' seemed to catch wind of something. "I'm hungry," the blonde boy chirped, with a tilt of his head. Before Maia could even reach out to grab him, Kuu had bolted! How did a tiny animal in a human body move that fast? It wasn't natural!
"Could've made him into a dog," the girl found herself muttering, while shoving her phone back into her pocket. At least dogs required leashes! "But, no." She had to let him pick whatever one he wanted! Though, 'let' was a loose term, considering Kuu had purchased the outfit without her full consent.
For a moment, Maia had to debate on if she even wanted to follow Kuu. If he got lost, he couldn't be her responsibility anymore, right? ...Unfortunately, that wasn't quite true, and she still didn't necessarily trust her Digimon's ability to blend in with other people, and found herself slowly beginning to trail after the monster-in-a-human-suit.
Kuu was doing his best at being a human boy, though! The young blond had sniffed out a boy with food, and curiously hopped toward him. Oh, foxes looked so much more convincing when eyeing stranger's snacks! Human boys? Not so much. Whatever! Either way, this guy had chips, and Kuu really wanted some! "Hey-a," the boy chimed, finally managing to look at the stranger's face, rather than his food. "What're you eating?" What big blue-green puppy-eyes Kuu had!
He definitely shouldn't be allowed to be alone with strangers.

Matt was enjoying his chips, he grabbed his favorite kind today, good ole Nacho flavor. "Man these are hitting the spot today! I even lucked out and the bag is like eighty percent full...whoa." he says to himself, unaware of his surroundings. he then looks around and decides to go check out the station for a bit, see all the different trains arriving at this time of night, if any.
As he starts to cross the street towards the junction. He notices a girl and boy, just from what he can see in the distance just talking. As she pulls out what he assumes is her phone the boy takes off on her. Matt then pivots and thinks to himself "I don't wanna get mugged, i don't wanna get mugged. i should've stayed home, should've stayed home" he takes a deep breath while closing his eyes, tries to gather all composure and reopens them. To see the boy, right there, in his personal space, glancing at both him and the chips.
Matt hears the boy mumble something, then the boy looks him straight in the eye. And wow does this kid have big green eyes. "What're you eating?" the boy asks.
"I-i u-ugh, c-chips? Nacho chips..." Matt says as he is trying to gather his composure around the young lad. "J-j-just don't m-mug me okay?" then it dawns on him, the boy has to be at least 14-15 years old, why would he mug him? That's just a stupid thought. Matt's persona soon changes and he asks the boy: "Hey, do you want your own bag of chips? The way you were looking at mine makes it seem like your a tad bit hungry, If you trust a complete stranger like myself i'll buy you a bag once we get to the store just down the street here." As Matt then points down the street, he slowly starts to turn as he waits for the boy's answer.

Why did Kuu have to be this way? Why couldn't he just stay put, and want to behave? Some people had nice, calm Digimon. Ones that didn't run away from their tamers for no decent reason! But, no, Maia had to have the hyperactive one! While wishful thinking was a great place to stay, the reality had to kick in that Kuu was actually talking to someone. This would be fine, if she knew this guy, but alarms were blaring, and it would only take one misstep for her partner to just blurt out that he was actually a fox that could grow scythes, or something!
"I don't have a mug," Kuu began, curiously, "so I guess I can't!" What was 'mugging' anyway? Did someone hit another person with a mug? Oh well. Focus on the important things! "I love chips!" The boy cheered, with a tiny bounce. Then, he paused and tilted his head to the side, "I think? Do I like nacho chips?" For a moment, Kuu looked back to see if Maia was able to answer his question, but established that she hadn't caught up yet, and shrugged. Oh well! Chips were good! Nacho was maybe good? Had to be good. Food is good!
Even better: Someone had offered him food! "Yeah! Let's get chips!" This was definitely a successful night! He was going to get free chips, and maybe explore, and they had spent the day in the Digital World! Everything was going perfectly!
Until Maia finally made her way to the two, just as Kuu was going to follow the stranger. "What are you doing?" Oh. If Kuu was a fox, his ears would have already pinned back. Except, the question wasn't directed at him at all! Instead, it was to the person that was going to take him to the store! "Are you just--" Okay, what person in their right mind just tried to walk off with a young teenager? It didn't matter if this guy didn't look like he was older than a teen, himself! "If you're trying to abduct some kid, you might want look elsewhere." Kuu wasn't a good candidate for that! Then again, anyone with common sense would probably just call the police if anyone tried to seriously kidnap their friend.
Maybe Kuu wanted to be stolen, though! Considering he was already defending with, "but he offered me food if I went with him!" Yeah, that was definitely a red-flag for kidnapper, wasn't it? Oops!

"Ahaha, no no mugging is u-ugh never mind" Matt says chuckling. "But ya the sto--" Matt then suddenly hears a feminine voice, one of which he kinda recognizes, but can't quite put his finger on it.
"What are you doing?" she says, and within that pause he thinks to himself "Oh shit...this does NOT look good."
"Are you just--If you're trying to abduct some kid, you might want look elsewhere." He then turns around to see the person who is talking, he hears the boy chime in with: "but he offered me food if I went with him!" yeah this didn't help Matt's case at all, who in their right mind asks a kid if he wants chips? Oh right he did. As he continues to turn, he can't find it in him to open his eyes, he's terrified at what this person might look like, he definitely doesn't want to die, not here, not now.
"I-i-i'm sor-r-ry! I Jus-st thou-g-g-ght that i'd buy the k-kid his own bag of chips! I didnt want to give mine up, so i jus-st tho-ought..." but that's exactly what he dd wrong, he just thought and went with it. Matt knew he has to stop having this blind faith in people, 'cause they aren't always going to see it his way. He then musters up the courage to look the person in the eye, he raises his head and opens his eyes. His heart starts to swell, beats a little bit more irregular than usual. He thought to himself "Oh man...its that girl from homeroom. Did i just try to abduct HER B-B-BROTHER!?!?!? Ohmygod Ohmygod OHMYGOD" it's clearly visible on his face that he's having a mental breakdown. He then attempts to talk to the blonde haired girl from school whom he hasn't had the courage to speak to since that one day after school. "I-i-i-i'm real-l-lly sor-r-ry...man...you must hate me right now." Matt then sits down in the middle of the street, raises up his arm and hands the bag of chips to the young boy.
Man, i really screwed up things this time.

Reaching out, Maia found herself tugging on the sleeve of Kuu's jacket. It was weird how holosuits worked. They could just wear clothes like normal people? It still didn't make sense, and it was really weird to treat her pet like a human! "You do know what this looks like, right?" It really looks like a kidnapping!
Oh, wait. Didn't she recognize this guy?
Being abnormally used to mental breakdowns, Kuu continued to smile, only reaching out to take the chips as they were offered. "Yay! See, Maia? He's nice! He gave me chips!" Then, there was a pause while sticking a hand into the bag. "Y'broke him, though!" Ah, broken people! Kuu had no idea how to fix his tamer's meltdowns, let alone a strangers! So, he was just going to cram a delicious looking handful of chips into his mouth, and let this play out!
"Would you stop?" the girl found herself hissing to her partner, while snatching the chips out of his hand, and trying to hand it back to her classmate. The holosuited Kudamon never made life easy, did he? Maia couldn't tell if looking like a teenage boy was helping situations, or worsening them, really. At least she didn't have a talking purse anymore! But now she had to hunt down a kid that wanted to eat everyone's snacks!
Closing her eyes for a second, the blonde took a deep breath. Okay, best course of action. What could that be? "S-stand up, will you?" Try to avoid to sounding intimidating! Then again, what was really scary about a one hundred pound girl? But, Maia hadn't answered his question, had she? "I don't hate you," she admitted, throwing a glance to her partner. "But, you really can't just take, uh, kids away in the dark without asking the people with." Yes. Kids. Because that was what Kuu was. A kid.
Kuu was too busy licking his weird, fake fingers to even pay attention to the conversation at this point. Having hands was great!
Still trying to keep the meltdown to a minimum, the tamer tried to continue conversing. That, and establish that if he tried to steal Kuu again, she knew where to find him! "You're, uh, in my class, aren't you?"

"Yeah...i know..." are the words he wanted to say to her. But he had this feeling like something was gripping his heart real tight. "I blew it...i ruined everything...no coming back from this. She'll never want to talk to me again..." his thoughts were starting to eat him up inside, he could barely hear anything those two were saying. All he could think about was her smile, and then how quickly it changed into a frown now. But he couldn't dwell on this anymore, he shouldn't, he has to own up to his mistakes and hopefully, hopefully he'll be able to see her smile again.
"S-stand up, will you?" he hears her say, he looks up towards her and sees that she's handing him the bag of chips he had previously given to the boy. As he starts to stand up and accept the bag of chips from the girl she continues to state: "I don't hate you," whilst quickly glancing at the oblivious boy "But, you really can't just take, uh, kids away in the dark without asking the people they're with." well for starters Matt didn't see the girl anywhere in sight, so he just assumed the boy was alone.
"Well, i didn't see you anywhere, and he looked really lost, also he kept looking at my chips. So i just thought that i'd go get him his own bag, instead of giving him the bag i had." like seriously, who wants to eat chips from a bag someone else has already been touching? Yuck. "But look, i'm sorry okay? I didn't know he was your brother, hell i can't even remember your name...but something tells me i should've cause honestly your a lot cuter when your smiling, like in class..." As soon as those words leave his mouth he can feel his face go bright red..."oh shit...oh shit! i said waaaaaaay to much" those are the words rolling through his mind right now...over and over again.
"You're, uh, in my class, aren't you?" she asks him. Right now he's a bit to panicked about what he said earlier, he hopes she never heard him, or maybe it was a dream! Yes! A dream! He didn't actually say those things out loud did he?
"Yeah, we're in the same homeroom, umm i'd like to formally introduce myself. I'm Mathis Kayne, most people just call me Matt." he extends his free hand for a handshake. "Please, accept my apology, i never meant the kid any harm." He musters up a smile, and continues to look at the girl. His thoughts keep going back to the point of 'what if she hates me?'

Maia really had no idea what was going on in her classmate's head. Maybe if she did, she could help settle him down! But, having to keep an eye on her partner was making it even harder to be able to properly empathize. "I guess, but-"
Wait. Brother?
Eyes reeled to Kuu, realizing that there was apparently a resemblance. Which, considering he had based his holosuit off of a most-definitely unrelated person, the thought process was becoming a little alarming. But, before Maia could overthink anything, she forced herself to look at the positive. Being mistaken as siblings made this way easier!
"I'm not her brother."
Until Kuu said something like that, of course.
"I wanna be her boyfriend!"
Oh no, this was getting worse by the second! "W-what? Kuu, that's ridiculous. You can't be my boyfriend," the teen began, trying to settle her partner down. What had gotten into him?! "I thought you wanted to be a ninja. You can't have a relationship with that kind of goal." This was like the logic one fed a five year old, wasn't it? Given, Kuu was younger than a five year old, it seemed fitting!
"But you're my person!" Now, the boy was clearly pouting, arms crossed, debating on what kind of drastic measure he could take to show off for his tamer. "I don't like sharing you with people." What a jealous fox! "And Elliot said that dating is when people like each other! It makes sense! I have hands! I'm still working on the thumbs, but--" Okay, this was just getting ridiculous. Why did a thirteen year old boy have to explain relationships to Kuu?
Now that the sibling thing was out the window, what was Maia supposed to say? Amber eyes flickered back to Matt, giving an awkward smile, "he's adopted. It's really nothing like that." Adoption seemed like a pretty accurate term! Though, more in the 'I adopted a puppy' sense! Plus, sometimes little kids wanted to 'marry' their siblings or parents. Maybe this could pass off as one of those situations?
At least Kuu was willing to agree to that! Nodding rapidly, the blond boy added, "Maia found me in a box!" Well, that really was the truth! But, hopefully he wouldn't add any more stories to the mix!
On the bright side, Kuu being overly possessive of his tamer had made the 'cuter when smiling' comment fly completely over the girl's head. But, oh, was Matt blushing? Weird. Maybe it was just the lighting, considering it was pretty dark out! Ah well. Placing her hand out, she took the other teen's to shake, "I'm Maia Quinn," she introduced. "And, the one you were trying to kidnap is Kuu," the tamer teased, with a small motion toward the fox-in-a-human-suit. Sorry, Kuu, you don't get introduced with a last name! "I guess it's alright. Just, uh, don't try to steal him again." Otherwise, they were going to have a problem!
Kuu had a far more important problem, though! "So, do I still get chips?"

"I guess, but-" She starts to say something but gets cut off by the young boy. "I'm not her brother. I wanna be her boyfriend!" The boy said with a huge grin, like if it seemed to be the right thing to say. Wait...what? What exactly did he just hear? Is this really happening? Like what in the lord's name is going on? "W-what? Kuu, that's ridiculous. You can't be my boyfriend," She looks at the boy, almost as puzzled as she is shocked. It is something rather alarming to here from a sibling? Matt then starts to get lost in thought about all this stuff he's hearing, then suddenly an image of a ninja appears in his mind. "Wait what? A ninja? What? Okay this is starting to get a little weird." He focus's back into reality and can see that they aren't arguing but it seems to be going back and forth at this point. "But you're my person!" The boy said while crossing his arms, he looked rather upset about it all. "I don't like sharing you with people. And Elliot said that dating is when people like each other! It makes sense! I have hands! I'm still working on the thumbs, but--" as the boy looks towards his hands. "I'm not really sure who 'Elliot' is but ugh, I think I might've crossed some sorta line here. Maybe he's a step sibling and he's grown attached?" he thinks to himself as they continue to talk. "He's adopted. It's really nothing like that." She says as she averts her gaze back towards Matt, the look on her face shows that of an uneasy smile, like if somethings wrong. Matt didn't like the expression and started to feel worried. "Maia found me in a box!" The boy expresses without missing a beat, which to Matt was an extremely odd thing to say. "Maybe he was homeless? Nah that can't be right, the kid is to well built to be homeless, it would explain the hunger though, no stop thinking that way, there has to be another reason as to why he would say something like that. It would explain the look on her face right now, but still what are they trying to hide, if anything?" Once again Matt got lost in thought, but it wasn't just a thought, as he just said all of that out loud. His face blushing hoping that she never heard him. He then realized the gentle touch of the girls as she shook his extended hand. "I'm Maia Quinn," she introduced. "And, the one you were trying to kidnap is Kuu," as she glanced over towards the boy. "I guess it's alright. Just, uh, don't try to steal him again." The way she talked had him almost enthralled, her speech, the glint in her eyes, man did she ever have nice eyes. Sure she jumped to conclusions to fast, but damn she had nice eyes. They looked like a sunset, glimmering in the street light, the dark night sky accented the way they looked. "I could get lost in those..." he mutters, just before clearing his throat. "So, do I still get chips?" he hears from the boy still anxiously waiting for some food. "Look, i wasn't trying to kidnap the kid, i just thought i'd help. Your never gonna let me live this down are you?" Matt says as he chuckles a bit, he looks towards the boy, "If she's okay with it, we can head to the store an i'll buy you some chips. I highly recommend Ketchup, but i'm not sure if they're stocked there tonight." He then softly lets go of Maia's hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you." he says softly as he begins to turn towards the street with the corner store. "ALL RIGHT! Let's get some CHIPS!" He shouts as he glances back awaiting the answer of the boy. Even though things started off weird, maybe we can be friends afterall.

Despite the attempt to keep their secret covered, Maia didn't let Matt's statement to himself go unnoticed this time. "Pardon?" This would give the other teen a moment to, perhaps, correct himself. After all, it was awfully strange to accuse the duo of hiding something! Or, really, just plain rude! Not that Matt was off about such a suspicion.
"Well, I didn't have a home," Kuu found the need to add in, leaning toward the stranger. But, no clarification was made, as the fox was far more interested in the aspect of food. Especially since it seemed that, yes, he was going to get free chips tonight! "So I don't know what I'd be hiding!" Maybe the part where he had also arrived in said box as an egg, that he had somehow shipped! That was a mystery that Maia hadn't even fully figured out!
With a shrug, a small smirk slipped onto the tamer's lips, "Well, I'll probably never let you forget it." After all, it was more funny when one considered that someone accidentally almost kidnapped a kid that wasn't actually a kid at all! The short scene of someone taking Kuu home, and him turning off his holosuit, crossed her mind. Oh, any kidnapper would think they were losing their minds at that kind of thing!
But, now she had to decide on if Kuu could actually go get chips with this would-have-been Kidnapper. Mulling it over briefly, the blonde hummed, "I guess it's fine." Though, Ketchup chips really didn't sound appealing! It was a good thing that Maia wasn't interested in getting any of these questionably-flavored chips.
"Yay!" the boy cheered, with a bounce, before grabbing his tamer's hand and pulling her along. Hey, if Matt got to touch Maia, so did Kuu! It was the rules! "I don't know if I like ketchup-stuff yet! This'll be fun!" Or, it wouldn't be. But, when a fox was given any sense of freedom in a convenience store, it would have to be at least a little interesting!

With her hearing everything he said by mistake, the look on her face when she said: "Pardon?" kinda made Matt regret ever opening his mouth, heck even think. Though the tone of her voice rang in his mind, all he was able to focus on was her eyes, the autumn night sky that they reflected, was just so captivating. He quickly shook himself out of his deep thought and focused in on what they were saying.
"Well, I didn't have a home, so I don't know what I'd be hiding!" Kuu said as he started to lean towards Matt. Matt then notices Maia give a quick shrug and state: "Well, I'll probably never let you forget it." she even smirked a bit, maybe, don't really know he couldn't tell.
"ALL RIGHT! Let's get some CHIPS!" Matt shouted as he started to turn away from them both, he then looks back to hear their response.
She then softly hummed: "I guess it's fine." and the boy grew to be ecstatic about receiving permission to go get chips. "I don't know if I like ketchup-stuff yet! This'll be fun!" exclaimed Kuu as he grabbed Maia's hand and started pulling her in Matt's direction.
"Hey, look, about what I said before. Don't worry about it, I shouldn't have thought about it in the first place, what your situation is, is none of my business, and if you're wanting me to know, then you'll tell me. So again, I apologize for saying anything." Matt says, as they all start heading towards the convenience store. "So is there any real reason why you two are out so late?" Although he isn't one to talk right now, going for a walk at 1 in the morning, who does that? Oh right, he does.
As the group continues to travel towards the store, and Matt notices the girl from earlier still standing outside starring in. "Ugh, what ever you two do, just don't make eye contact with her okay?" but Matt never really thought his words through, the boy seemed to be a bit sporadic at times, and frankly this might not end well, for anyone.

"Yay! Chips!" Surely, Matt wouldn't need to turn around to hear Kuu shouting about his excitement. Dragging Maia to keep pace with Matt, the boy hummed a very off-key, but happy sounding tune. He was going to get chips! Oh, but he kind of wanted something sweet. Did chips come in sweet flavor? He hoped so. Could there be ketchup-chocolate chips? Or just chocolate chip cookies. Maybe, Kuu was just hungry!
Not even wanting to pry into her partner's mind, Maia focused on what Matt was saying. "Ah, no, it's fine," she tried to reassure with a smile. "Our 'situation' is a bit complicated," she tried to explain, as rationally as possible. Then again, a 'kid' being found in a box sounded no less than complicated! "But, uh, he really did come in a box," she mumbled, mostly under her breath. Stupid, weird Digimon. How the heck does someone ship themselves to someone else's house? It never made sense.
Kuu's humming stopped at the question about why they were out, exchanging a glance with his tamer. "We lost track of time and the train brought us back too late!" While Maia wanted to find a way to clarify this, it really wasn't wrong. In fact, for once, Kuu seemed to be giving a proper answer! "Were you playing on trains, too?" Surely, it wouldn't be the same kind of train!
Not that he was going to give much time to answer, as he heard the request not to make eye contact with some girl. What? Why couldn't he? That sounded like a great idea! Everyone needed eye contact! "I'm gonna do i-"
"-If you do, you're not getting chips and I'm taking away your new 'toy.'"
The threat seemed to ring clear, as Kuu shuffled a little closer to Maia, looking frustrated. "But I like chips," he grumbled, puffing his cheeks. At least, for once, the holosuited fox wasn't going to cause problems! "Why aren't we supposed to make eye contact with strange people?"

The boy sounded relatively happy about getting chips, and Matt did too, he was glad that things didn't get to weird, especially with everything that happened. It would've been really hard to bounce back from that. But nonetheless he was just glad the path they were all on seemed like a good one.
"Ah, no, it's fine, our 'situation' is a bit complicated, but, uh, he really did come in a box" She said in response to Matt's little rambling, but he couldn't quite hear the last part of the sentence, as it seemed like she trailed off a bit, but it didn't really bother him all that much, he just figured if she wanted him to know, then she would tell him. No need for him to pry into their lives right?
Kuu started to hum an awkward sounding tune as they started walking, as he hears Matt's question he stopped humming and answered, "We lost track of time and the train brought us back too late! Were you playing on trains, too?" Kuu seemed to be rather inquisitive at times, Matt thought it was rather endearing, added a lot to the boys charm. "Well i like to go sit at the station and think, something about the atmosphere there, it's always drawn me in. it's calming in a sense." Matt replies, not wanting to reveal the semi real reason he likes the station.
They start to get closer to the store, and as Matt mentions, not to make eye contact with the girl, he hears Kuu say: "I'm gonna do i-"
he's immediately cut off by Maia as she states: "-If you do, you're not getting chips and I'm taking away your new 'toy." Kuu looked a little miffed about what she said, and moved closer to her "But I like chips," he grumbled, puffing his cheeks. "Why aren't we supposed to make eye contact with strange people?"
Matt was a little confused about what she said, "'Toy? What toy? Am I said toy? Whoa whoa whoa, i cannot be a toy...i don't think i'm cut out to be a toy..." he's stuck in thought once again and almost didn't hear Kuu ask him about contact with strangers. "Well for one, my friend it's not polite to stare, like what she's doing right now. Not good, and secondly, it will give them the wrong idea, sometimes pertaining to an altercation of some sort, which would be unnecessary at this time of night." he says as he tries to get them to avoid the window watcher. "But we are here, and as I said, i'll buy you some chips, also Maia, did you want anything? It's on me, I want to try make things kinda right, I know buying you something won't make it all go away, but I don't know, it feels like I owe you." Matt says as he opens the door to the store. "Is there anything else you two want to do after this? Or did you just want me to be on my way?" he felt as if maybe this was it, or maybe he's just beating himself up. Who knows.

Kuu listened to Matt's explanation for liking the train station, before tilting his head. In an ever-so-curious tone, the boy found the perfect question to ask his tamer. "What is calming?"
"Certainly not you," was the first thing to blurt from the girl's mouth. Way to watch her tongue in front of strangers! Ah well, she could probably pass it off as some sort of sibling bickering, right? Brothers and sisters normally said things like that all the time, didn't they? Not that Maia would really know, from a first-hand perspective.
It didn't take long for Matt to get stuck in his own mind again, and Maia seemed to have no intent of pulling him out of it. He was a little eccentric, wasn't he? How was a guy like this so popular in class? Maybe it was the almost innocent vibe that radiated from him. But, there was little denying that he was kind of strange! Given, Maia had no room to talk. She had just been trying to explain her relationship with a fox-in-human-skin!
Holosuit, don't fail them now. It would make for a much harder explanation!
"Alter-Vacation?" Not quite, but Kuu was trying! It seemed that 'altercation' wasn't in his vocabulary, though! "I need a vacation!" From what? The fox didn't do anything except for eat, sleep, and bug Maia all day! "What's wrong with a night-vacation? Night is great! Vacations are great! Let's go to the beach!"
By this point, his tamer was trying to figure out how, exactly, to shut her partner up. Usual methods were out the window, considering she normally would poke or pull on the fox's face. As a human? That would just be weird. So, instead, there was a lot of "shh!"-ing, and hand motions to try to imply that he needed to calm down.
Not that Kuu ever understood any implications. Or, perhaps, he just liked to try to blatantly do the opposite of what people hoped for. Holo-fingers still wrapped around his tamer's hand, he was quick to drag her inside of the store the second that Matt had opened the door. Using his free hand, he tried to grab onto Matt's, to pull him along more quickly. "Chips! Where do they live?"
Maia was trying to be a little more considerate, however, shaking her head. "N-no, that's fine. You don't owe me anything." It just didn't feel right to even let her classmate buy Kuu food, let alone anything for her! But, as far as the next question went, the tamer had to think. It was weird to have a question as direct as 'do you want me to leave?' "I, uh," what? "I don't have any ideas of what to do at-"
And, then the girl noticed her 'brother's' hand in the air, waiting as if he was hoping a teacher would call on him. He didn't even go to school! "Yes, Kuu?"
The fox turned eyes to the one that was buying him chips. If he was going to ask Matt, why did he want Maia's permission to ask the question?! "I would like to do fun stuff! Do you know of fun stuff we can do?"

As he opened the corner store door, Kuu quickly advanced into the building, still holding onto Maia's pulling her as fast as he could. He seemed like he really wanted those chips. Matt felt the brush of the boys hand against his almost as if Kuu wanted him to hurry into the store as well. Matt didn't disregard what the boy was saying earlier, he found the boy's ramblings to be a lot like his own, bouncing from subject to subject. But Maia didn't seem to like them so much as she kept trying to shush the kid. All Matt could really do at the moment was just chuckle softly.
As soon as they were all inside the store Kuu exclaimed: "Chips! Where do they live?" as it looked like he was trying to scan the area looking for the chips. Maia just looked at Matt as she answered his question "N-no, that's fine. You don't owe me anything." but he did, he really did. He was grateful that things didn't go south, he really didn't mean for such a mix up, he just ad a bad habit of talking with out thinking it through. As for the other question he asked, he had a gut feeling that maybe things weren't meant to proceed further, that maybe he should've just apologized and went on his way, he didn't want to be a bother to both Kuu and Maia.
But the tone of voice she had when she answered seemed like she was a little confused for Matt to say something like that. "I, uh, I don't have any ideas of what to do at-" she then noticed that Kuu had risen his hand in the air, as if he was in school, I guess habits die hard. "Yes, Kuu?" she proceeds to say.
With Maia addressing him, he quickly averted his gaze towards Matt, then said "I would like to do fun stuff! Do you know of fun stuff we can do?" Maia looked a little confused as to why Kuu raised his hand, or at least that was Matt's understanding of the situation.
"Well, I do feel like I owe you something Maia, things could've went very differently back there, and I don't really want to create more stress than I already have, I guess I should've said it'd be more of a token of appreciation, instead of me owing you." he says as he starts to walk towards Kuu, "I asked, cause I don't want to be a burden towards the two of you, but it looks like Kuu is excited to do something afterwards." Matt then looks back towards Maia with a smile, "Sometimes, I wish I had a sibling like him, I bet it's a lot of fun at your place," Matt then directs Kuu down to where the chips are located, he then brings the boy closer to him and whispers in his ear "I'll buy you two bags, of any flavor you want, but just don't tell Maia, okay? I think we got a deal right?" Matt then chuckles a bit and grabs an other bag for himself. "Are you sure you don't want anything?" as he looks at Maia suggesting all the chips, and other snacks in the store. "As for activities, there is a park nearby, you guys like swings and slides?" Cause that didn't sound creepy at all. He then looks around the store and takes a deep breath, and rubs his forehead with his free hand.
