A ridiculously loud alarm clock greeted a sleeping Kaito. He scrambled out of bed and turned it off. It was so early that the sky was still dark. The young superstar sighed as he rubbed his eyes and mentally prepared himself for another day of monotonous music making.
How had his life come to this? At first, the fame was overwhelming and exciting for him. Now, it all felt so...mundane. Once his adoring fans had been a source of inspiration for him, now they were no more than an annoyance.
Kaito shook his head and walked down to his kitchen and prepared a light breakfast. On the counter were the things he'd need for the day. His brand new cell phone, his wallet, his-
D-Tector.
Ever since that strange encounter in the park, Kaito made sure to take that everywhere he went. He was able to pass it off to others as just a virtual pet; a fun distraction for a busy man such as him. But he knew it was so much more than that. The encounter with Reavermon and that little boy was proof positive.
Perhaps this meant he was truly destined for something even beyond what he had achieved already.
Of course, that had been months ago, and Kaito had forgotten how that encounter ended. Reavermon had promised to take him to a strange place called the Digital World, but with the sudden arrival of that little boy, they had gotten distracted. Since that day, he hadn't seen either of them.
Kaito finished his breakfast and finished preparing for the day. The sun was just starting to rise as he walked out to his car.

Kaito was one of the first people to the studio that morning. The only other person present at the time was his sound engineer. "Good morning, Mr. Kozumi," the engineer greeted plainly. Kaito nodded as if to silently return the greeting. He also needed to keep his voice as undamaged as possible. It would be a long day.
Of course, no one else even showed up on time. It was as if Kaito was the only one who cared these days, and even then he barely did. Begrudgingly, he started the recording session.
Eight hours later, Kaito had the rest of the day to himself. He quietly drove back to his mansion as he considered what to eat for supper. Of course, it was hard to focus on that when his mind was also preoccupied with thoughts of the Digital World and Reavermon. He hadn't reached a food decision when he got out of his car and started to walk into the giant house.

It had been what? A few months at best? An meeting with a youth and a meeting with an actor; both turned digital? The event had barely gotten started before the rest of it had been condemned to the short term memory of the man. He didn't like that at all; something seemed off about the whole thing. Like something was interfering with his plans or with just interactions with others in general.
It hadn't been a very busy day, there had been little business over the last week or so. That and coupled with meeting another pair of youth's not even... two or three days past? A shake of his head and the spirit user sipped at his drink; relaxing idly on the couch.
He didn't often watch tv, in fact it was mostly Gretal that did so. For the first time in what must of been a decade he stared blankly at the TV screen. Show after show seemed to pass on by... before he was greeted by a familiar face on a commercial. Some promotion of some kind; but the name was unmistakable.
Kaito Kozumi.
Memory jolted and interest bloomed. He had made a promise before hadn't he? To take them to the digital. He hadn't acted on it and the spirit user of course was a man of his word. The realm of the digital was of two things, information and action. Without the former you could not do the latter. So he did what any person would do... And gathered information.
Less than five or six minutes later he had a location; a home. Likely one of many homes; as it was popular to have as an celebrity. He'd of course take the chance that it was likely the most used one thus why it was listed... To get to the location quickly he'd have to take a different form than he had initially met the celebrity with. However he doubted that they would react too negatively to the appearance of a digital entity that others could not perceive.
Shattermon.
Yes yes. Lets go.
The human went into his garage; the address firmly in mind. The direction of the home easily remembered. His form shifted quickly to the larger canine/lupine mix. Any extra bits that didn't fit in the garage simply phased through the structure as though it wasn't there. Taking a moment to orient himself the digital creature exited through the front of the garage heading off in the direction aforementioned.
Thirty or so minutes later the digital creature rested cheerfully upon a familiar car. [though it wasn't so familiar to him; it would be to the celebrity.] The weight of the champion level digimon caused the car to sink down with a loud sound. The smooth voice of the digimon rolled out of a non existent face...
"It has been quite some time My friend, a promise given not honored simply won't do. I hope I am not interrupting anything..."

Kaito nearly jumped out of his skin as the shadowy figure appeared. He yelped a bit in surprise. The only thing that kept him from running away right then and there was the sound of a familiar voice.
"Is that...Kan?" the young star questioned, somehow remembering the human name that was attached to the voice. "I was wondering if you were going to show up." He chuckled lightly. "I haven't forgotten that promise of yours. This D-Tector of mine has been sitting unused for a while now."
A break in the monotony of Kaito's everyday life was long overdue. It seemed that Kan would be able to provide that for him, but would it actually happen? Only time would tell, he supposed.

A soft snort and the spirit stepped off the car; which without the weight of the creature groaned with relief. He'd tilt his head slightly; listening curiously to the other. So they hadn't forgotten his promise? Well that's certainly a good thing; seeing as the spirit user had for a bit of time. Though would he of mentioned that to the other? No. No he would not. However he would answer as he saw fit, as he usually did when dealing with others.
"It is yes, though I'd imagine you were expecting me to show up in the last form."
A small chuckle followed pretty much immediately by a sigh. Words soft and smooth as wine were uttered, the spirit itself was seeping into them making the softness fade near the end and sounding practically unholy.
"It was not my intent to make you wait, Why don't you get your D-tector and we can go catch a train."

Kaito was a little off-put by Kan's demeanor, sure, but he seemed mostly harmless to him at this point. "At this point, I don't know what to expect from you when I see you," Kaito admitted, grinning slightly. "I already have my D-Tector, so I'm ready to go."
The young star looked at his house, which would likely lay empty for a while now. That was fine. What might be less fine would be the amount of media attention he'd get if he suddenly disappeared for a while without a trace and then suddenly came back. Well, at least the weekend was here, so he could be gone for a few days without any real suspicion.
Then suddenly, something Kan said caught Kaito's attention. "Wait, we're taking the train? I've never done something like that before."

"At least I'm not popping into places when you're well and busy. Were you to be so, I'd likely seek you out on a later time."
It was rude after all to expect people to drop whatever they were doing to just go to the digital world. Setting up plans and the like were the best bet, but with the lack of communication intially between the two.. Well; it would likely be fixed after this whole debacle.
"Excellent. I suppose it could double as a fancy cell phone for you since it no doubt took yours as it's host."
The spirit user turned to the street, looking slightly concerned the spirit shook it's head. Having never taken a train the celebrity would likely be able to avoid normal media coverage. It'd seem out of place wouldn't it?
"Then you won't have to worry about random media attacks, we're not so much taking a train from the station as we are going to a section normal people cannot even percieve."

Man, this was all pretty intense! There was a whole section of the train station that no one even knew about? Was this guy for real? "Well, ok," Kaito said flippantly. "Let's be on our way, shall we?" He turned and walked toward the street, preparing himself mentally for what might be coming next.

Kan shook his head just a little bit, it was a normal level of interaction he was used to going to the train station. At least for the digital world portion; he didn't really have much use for the trains otherwise. If his digivice didn't want to work and take him to the digital realm after all he had to rely on that section of the train station to do so for him. There were of course a few times that was the case, but it had been sorted out in short order anyways.
"Yes. Let's."
Kan of course would lead the way, the larger form of shattermon making it easy for him to keep ahead of Kaito. But honestly he was going slower so that he COULD keep up. It would maybe take them somewhere from ten to fifteen minutes of walking to get to the train station from where they were at; if they didn't get stopped by fans or media in the mean time. But with how shattermon worked he could be patient. He wasn't going to get spotted nor would he need to press for time.
