John and his Koromon, Casimeir, both stared into a small pond while the man sat cross-legged at its edge. The reflection of the tamer and his partner stared back at them while they peered below the water's surface. Swimming within their own little worlds was an assortment of koi fish of different colors. Each one meandered about the lily pads and lotus flowers that dotted the water's surface. It was relaxing to observe for John and his partner.
"That's right," John replied to his Koromon; who, at the moment, was leaning forward in John's lap so that he could get a better view. "I met a girl a while back in this clearing. Her name was Maia It was her Kyaromon that found your egg. But I have no clue why your egg would appear underwater." The more that John thought about it, the less sense it made. He then chuckled, remembering the event. "In fact, the Kyaromon fell out of that tree across from us to save you."
One of the koi fish appeared to have a momentary bout of confidence. It swam closer to the surface than the others and eyed Casimeir out of curiosity. After a moment, it darted back toward the deeper end of the pond. The act caused John and Casimeir to chuckle out of amusement. "Who knows," the Koromon stated. "Eggs appear in the weirdest places sometimes."
The In-Training Digimon's eyes lit up with excitement as he turned about and looked up at his tamer. "Hey, do you think I'll get to meet Maia sometime? And Kyaromon?" A broad smile creased John's lips. He rested his right hand on the Digimon's head, where he began to make gentle strokes. "I lost touch with them," John admitted. "But we'll see."
Vianna the Renamon moped around on the other side of the pond. Her tail drooped and dragged along the ground behind her. Vianna sighed and crouched on the edge of the pond, watching the fish inside. Anyone who had met her before could clearly tell she wasnt her usual cheerful self. She had been drifting from place to place in the human world since she had arrived but now felt like she had no where else to go. She studied a few interesting people here and there but it had been a while since she found someone else to study. Overall she felt like she had lost her purpose and though she wouldn't admit it a little homesick also.
Vianna pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her tail around herself. Under normal circumstances she would have noticed the tamer and digimon on the other side of the pond. She probably would've gave chace for a while and tried to study them both. But now she was unmotivated and lost in thought, watching the koi fish.
It was nice to be out of the digital world and back into one that made a little more sense. Out here it was peaceful, quiet, no one else around leaving Eva with just herself and her thoughts. Like usual, she had a lot of things to think about. At least, she thought no one else was around until she caught sight of another Renamon just sitting by the edge of a Koi filled pond looking glum. Her first instinct was to simply cloak and walk away, or activate her holosuit but there was no need for either of those actions, this was another digimon after all.
She walked up alongside Vianna, kneeling down beside her. "Hey, you okay there?" Eva must have looked a little strange. Sure, she was a Renamon but with quite a few differences from the norm what with her hoodie and cargo pants, not to mention her cybernetics.
The duo didn't notice the black Renamon when she entered their vicinity quite yet. Their attention was drawn elsewhere at the moment, being that they were currently focused on each other. In spite of this, John and Casimeir's ears picked up on a voice. The pair looked to Eva's direction so that they could see who had joined them, but nothing could prepare them for reality.
Expressions of wonderment were plastered on their faces. There, sitting before them, were two Digimon! John and Casimeir were both at a loss for words as if their entire vocabularies were erased from their minds. The initial shock began to die down, now, and their minds could now properly process what they were seeing.
Upon inspecting Vianna, the Tamer and his Digimon could very well see that the Renamon looked dismal. Eva, who appeared to be the same kind of Digimon as Vianna, was checking on the black Renamon's condition. Being the kind souls that they were, John and Casimeir opted to speak.
With a smile, the Tamer would initiate conversation first. "Hello," he conveyed in a friendly tone. "You're both Digimon, right? My name's John, and this is my Koromon, Casimeir." Casimeir beamed at the pair of Renamon. "Hi, what are your names? Are you two alright?"
Vianna jumped as she was pulled back to reality. She looked up at Eva, startled, and frowned for a moment before realization spread on her face. This digimon that approached her looked exactlt like her. Well, more or less. She jumped up and immediatly took both of Evas hands in her own and clasped hers together. Vianna jumped up and down with excitement, the former gloom around her dissapearing like it wasn't there in the first place.
She beamed as she looked at Eva, her face lit up like a light. "Your a Renamon!" Of course she was stating the obvious and ran the risk of drawing unwanted attention by shouting, but at the moment she didn't care. "Ive never seen a Renamon in the human world!" Her wagged behind her quickly, tipping off to anyone watching how happy she was. She was so excited she didnt notice the tamer across the pond that was talking to them. "Oh! Yeah im fine by the way, my names Vianna!"
Tuwarmon had finally done it, he had infiltrated the world of the humans. These nasty creatures, what with them infecting his world like a virus and brainwashing innocent digimon with their digivices. It disgusted him.
After making it through the divide between the digital world and Earth, Tuwarmon had learned much about humans, observing them from the trees in the park. They'd talk about their petty little lives. But this one was different. He seemed to have a digimon partner.
While most other digimon had simply given up to the reality that humans were there to stay in the digital world, Tuwarmon was here for the simple reason. To find out why.
The human on the edge of the pond seemed to talk about "finding" Koromon here. Hmph. Tuwarmon didn't buy that. And now two Renamons were here as well. This was... an unusual development. Tuwarmon was wary of them.
For now though, he would bide his time. The leaves rustled as he moved, preparing to drop down and interrogate this human as to how exactly he stole and brainwashed this digimon. He even named him too with one of those awful human names! Terrible!
Eva didn't really know how to react to Vianna's sudden hand grab, not to mention the sudden shift in emotion so she just looked back at her in stunned silence, blinking a couple of times. The cyborg digimon's hands were cold and unnatural feeling, crafted from lifeless carbon fibre and titanium in an imitation of a human's with the normal four fingers and a thumb. "... Yes. I am a Renamon."
Fortunately, the weapons grade awkward going on right now was interrupted by another far calmer sounding voice. Using the opportunity, Eva managed to pull her hands away from Vianna's grasp, turning to look at the newcomers, regarding them with a nod and returning John's smile. I'm Eva."
John stood up from his seated position while cradling his Koromon in his arms. Bits of grass clung to the back of John's jeans, but he did not pay them any concern for now. He figured that he could just wipe them off at a later time. The Renamon pair seemed to be friendly in their demeanors, which helped lead John and Casimeir to believe that that they were safe to approach.
The Tamer made his way toward Vianna and Eva while the two continued to smile. They wanted to keep a friendly aura about them so that they would not appear to have any hostile intentions. John halted in his tracks once he was a good four feet away from the other Digimon. He wanted to be cautious for the time being, after all, since the two were strangers to him and his Koromon.
"It's nice to meet you," John commented. "I haven't had the chance to meet many Digimon. What brings you both to the Human world?" It was at that instant when John and Casimeir could finally notice that Eva had artificial limbs. While John wondered if that was normal for Digimon, his partner knew for a fact that something terrible must have happened. It would have been outright rude to ask about the metal appendages, so the Tamer and his Digimon chose not to bring it up.
Vianna continued to bounce in place, clearly still excited. Seeing another Renamon in the human world was enough to pull her interest back and dispel the gloom that had hung around her earlier. She was interested again, which was a bad thing for whomever she was interested in, in this case Eva. She had noticed the cold against her hands through the excitement earlier and the weird feel of Evas fingers. She got to looking and realized that Eva had artificial hands at least. As observant as she was she couldnt tell through the hoodie and cargo pants what else was cybernetic.
Vianna finally noticed the other tamer that had approached them and turned to face him. She gave a quick once over and a friendly smile as John introduced himself. Normally she wouldve expressed interest in him and followed him to study. At the moment, however, her interests were fixated on Eva and thats where they'd stay for the time being. "Hello! My name is Vianna" she introduced herself again. Of course the was she had shouted earlier wouldve already let John know her name but she was just being polite.
She turned back on Eva and darted around her quickly, poking various spots to test what was cybernetic and what wasn't. She stood up when she had reached a conslusion and gave Eva a friendly smile. This was one downside to her personality, she didnt understand personal space. She quietly hoped that Eva wouldnt react like some of the previous people she studied and try to hit her.
Being absorbed in facination with Eva she didnt notice the Tuwarmon lurking nearby. However she was very observant due to her constantly studying people, a long period of time watching the group would eventually give the Tuwarmon away. Especially so if Vianna had enough time to calm down and notice her surroundings. A worse case scenario for the Tuwarmon would be some form of light glinting off of its shiny body. Vianna kind of had an attack first and apologize later mentality when it came to shiny things.
Tuwarmon continued to observe the scene below. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that one of the Renamons seemed to be a variation. He saw various metallic features on her person. Curious. Perhaps she was stronger than she let on?
The presence of the two Renamons made Tuwarmon's temper about seeing the human stifle a little. Perhaps they shared the same ideals that he had? That they were merely trying to get close to the human to find out why he had come across his partner here on Earth? That was of course, unless they had human partners too.
Tuwarmon scanned his surroundings for any signs of other humans, but could see none.
The human then asked what brought them to the human world. Tuwarmon chose at this time to remain still and listen. Indeed. Why exactly were these two here and what were their intentions? Perhaps after Tuwarmon heard these reasons, he would then decide on what his next actions would be?
After all, Tuwarmon was the kind of digimon that would prefer to know as much as he could about a situation before acting.
"Hey, Goldy, you spyin on some kids or what?" A rookie-level virus type, a Dracmon, to be precise, swung down from a branch just above Tuwarmon's head, hanging by his forked tail, his fuzzy legs stretched out in an upside-down splits, his arms folded. Before he even let him respond, he continued, "Cool, mind if I join in?" He asked, swinging to the side of the ninja-like digimon, "Oh, hey, it's that robo-renamon." He noticed, as he uncrossed his arms, the eyes on his palms finally reading the situation, "So, what causes someone like you to spy on a bunch of children?" He asked, casually, leaning on his back foot and bringing his front foot up a bit, as he turned his head towards the larger digimon, despite being unable to see with it, he believed the thought mattered more. Truth be told, he was already stalking the kid with the Koromon, desiring some form of entertainment, he, of course, was right in thinking this way as, like always, a group of digimon and their partners, (with one exception) wriggled from the woodwork.
There was something moving up there in the trees, she could have sworn it. Probably nothing though, just some small animal scurrying about or a bird. Nonetheless, something up there did catch her attention, but, she couldn't quite make it out. Nonetheless, she switched to thermal imaging just in case. Perhaps it was something interesting.
Vianna would be able to tell that at the very least Eva's arms and legs were cybernetic before she grabbed the other Renamon's wrist, raising a brow with a slightly confused look on her face and pushing her hand away. "Yes. I have cybernetics. That does not mean you can just poke me."
She looked to the tamer and digimon, thinking of a response to the question. Probably better to just tell the truth, even if it did sound a little strange. "As odd as it sounds, I actually feel more comfortable out here. Human world makes more sense to me. It's a long story, but, I pretty much grew up here." She clicked her holosuit on and off while she was explaining this, the image of a young redhead woman replacing her normal appearance, before it faded back away.
John and Casimeir looked on in awe when Eva messed around with her holosuit. "That's so cool," the Tamer exclaimed in wonder. "Does this mean there are even more Digimon in the Human World with disguises like yours? What even is that, anyway?" John and Casimeir felt astonished from their discovery. Did this mean that Casimeir wouldn't have to hide anymore while in public?
Where the other Digimon may have noticed that something was watching them in the trees above, the Koromon didn't pay it any mind. That was until his long jagged ears perked from the sounds of a voice in the big tree up above. With curiosity getting the better of him, the Koromon inspected the branches overhead. John, meanwhile, decided to ask more about Eva's background. "You said you grew up in the real world? What brought you here?"
There were enough gaps in the foliage of the tree to reveal the outline of a medium-sized humanoid creature, with light glinting off of what appeared to be gold. But that wasn't right, what animal would be wearing gold? In contrast, the Dracmon was well-hidden, but the Koromon swore he could detect another scent in the trees.
"Hey guys," Casimeir spoke, "I think we have company." He kept his ruby gaze trained on the branches up on high in concern. John picked up on this and peered to where his Partner had his eyes on. It was then when he saw parts of the Tuwarmon that weren't hidden by the tree leaves. Thus far, every Digimon that John met was of a friendly nature, so he didn't feel very concerned about the eavesdropper. Maybe this one wasn't any different?
Vianna pouted as Eva pushed her hand away. She had concluded that her arms and legs were cybernetic but not much else. Oh well, she would make sure to poke around more later when Eva wasnt paying much attention. For now though she had heard a voice in the trees thanks to the Dracmon and studied the trees carefully. "Company?" She glanced at the Koromon. It took a moment but she felt a sense of familiarity when she heard the voice "that voice sounds familiar" she thought for a while before it clicked.
"Your that Dracmon!" She pointed up at the tree and moved in closer. The movement caused her to get a better view of the Dracmon and Tuwarmon underneath the branches. Unfortunately for them though the better view made a little bit of light bounce off the Tuwarmon. With a gasp she rushed up the tree quickly and climbed all over the digimon. "You're shiny! Gimme gimme!" She tried to pull on him to see if she could take anything off but then quickly realized what she was doing and mumbled an apology.
Tuwarmon had sensed the Dracmon as he approached, but, had secretly hoped that he would not bother him. Alas, that was not to be.
"I do mind" he muttered, but, supposed that the game was up now. Undoubtedly the humans and digimon below were beginning to notice the commotion. Very well. "I seek information" he answered curtly. Hmm. Despite this rookie level deciding to upend his operation, perhaps he was on his side? Tuwarmon lowered his ire toward him.
"And what is your purpose here?" he asked in return.
So, one of the Renamons had cybernetics? Interesting. Tuwarmon had not heard of digimon being modified in this way. And... wait, did that Renamon turn into a human suddenly? What trickery was this?
'Ah, an illusion' he thought, understanding now. Yes, he was aware of those arts. He practiced them sometimes too. And the Renamon had grown up on Earth? Hmm. Interesting.
The Koromon by now had caught on to the commotion above. Tuwarmon remained still. He would only reveal himself if called upon.
Then of course all of Tuwarmon's dignity was robbed by the other Renamon, who suddenly decided to jump up and climb all over him, claiming that he was "shiny". Tuwarmon sighed, hearing her apology, then decided to reveal himself to those below.
Tuwarmon promptly jumped down from the tree branches, landing among the individuals in question. He folded his arms.
"Greetings. I am Tuwarmon" he said. Not one to begin hostilities at once, he went about this the more careful way. "It seems that I have stumbled upon this strange new world, then I proceeded to the nearest congregation of other digimon that I could find. It is convenient that this is in such a secluded place".
Showing no signs of hostility as of yet, Tuwarmon looked around the others of the place, curious of how they would react to him. Maybe he could get what he wanted through non-hostile means? After all, there were three independent digimon like him present, the cybernetic Renamon particularly fascinating. There would be much to learn without senseless violence.
