This MPC will be combining Videogame Nightmare and Bounty Hunters.
It was eight o'clock in the evening when the sun began to drift gently down toward the Western horizon. The general populace of Shibuya made their ways to their final destinations for the day, while the night-dwellers started to crawl out of the woodwork to prepare for the Nightlife of the city. Like clockwork, every lit sign that adorned the many buildings flickered on and brought new life and color to the ward of Tokyo. In contrast to the clamor of the bustling urban lifestyle resided a rather barren Hachikō Square with nary a soul, save for two, who sat on a wooden bench close to the famous Shibe Inu statue. The light from a blue 3DS XL illuminated John Davis's upper body, and a little bit of his Agumon, Casimeir, while he held his stylus in his right hand's fingers while grasping the handheld console with his left hand. Catchy music resounded from the gaming device's speakers as the Tamer played. His eyes remained glued to the screen, for he was watching two animated creatures that were locked in battle. He occasionally touched the tip of the stylus to the bottom screen. Casimeir rested against his favorite human, keeping his gaze on the game that John played with interest glistening in the emerald irises. "This reminds me a lot of Digimon," the Agumon mused. The comment caused John to chuckle a bit. "Yeah," he admitted, "it does, doesn't it?" The creature that John was utilizing, an orange dragon, was then hit by an attack from the other, a large blue turtle on two legs. The dragon's health bar dropped a quarter of the way. John clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Come on, you can do this," he spoke as if the creatures could hear him. "What was it called again?" Casimeir peered up to John, eager to hear his response. "Pocket Monsters," the Tamer replied with a soft smile. "Pokémon for short."
The Rookie hummed in deep thought. The name sounded very similar to Digimon, which was amusing, to say the least. "Sounds like I need to get a lawyer and ask for compensation."John laughed softly at his Digimon's jest. "Sorry pal, but I'm not sure which came first. And I don't know of any lawyers who will represent a Digimon." "You don't know that," Casimeir huffed comically. "Maybe I'll become a lawyer myself!"The Tamer shook his head playfully. By now the opposing Pokémon was beaten. John exhaled a sigh now that he felt alleviated. He proceeded to save his game and shut the system off before closing it and setting it down to his left. "We should head home soon."
Casimeir nodded gently being that he agreed with John's sentiment. "Yeah, but let's stay here a little longer. It's a beautiful sunset, and I want to watch it if that's okay."The Tamer's smile intensified slightly. "Sure, buddy."

Hope you don't mind me adding some details to your own piece ^^ just for mine to make a little more sense. Meanwhile, on the other side of the screen...
"How did we end on this place, Yuu? Weren't we supposed to go to the mall and buy some groceries?" Well, Kyo certainly had a point regarding that one question. Pity that the teenager herself had now idea on how to answer to it.
Nor on how to respond to... her current look. Why was she wearing this strange outfit? Strange hats had never stricken her fancy, and this was no exception; regarding the rest of her clothes... well, better not to ask. ["No idea. I don't ever know where we are at the moment. And the locals seem to be a little... unresponsive. Maybe we should explore a little more, just to see what this place's about."] If the teenager had to make a wild guess, she'd probably settle for... somewhere in the Digital World? But why they had arrived here? Yuu didn't remember ever going there, at least recently. This was the strangest blackout ever.
"Hey, look at this place! It seems interesting!" The Plotmon hadn't looked at how the place itself looked, or even at its name; just at the fact that a lot of dog-like digimons entered looking pretty much the same and left with some of the most imaginative and amazing hairdos! "Can I get one? Pleaaaaaaaase? I really really really really want one!" Both her pleading face and the look currently on her eyes was totally impossible to resist. With a sigh, yet smiling, Yuu led the way over there. "Whoa, that guy did pure magic! Wonder why he seemed to be a little nervous when I thanked him after the haircut. Wasn't okay for me to talk?"
Now outside, the digimon donned a style described by the stylist as "Debutante". It was amazing how he had managed to make a makeshift hat of sorts... just with hair. Zoning into the question being asked at the moment, however, Yuu just shrugged. ["Beats me."] Maybe the people in here were just strange.
The next thing that brought Kyo's interest was... two people fighting with their digimon! Or at least, the last moments of that battle. One of them had been the sound winner. "That was an awesome fight!" Running through the direction of the guy who had won, the Plotmon was about to congratulate the winner, but he just... poofed. Disappeared into thin air. "Hey, hey! Come back! I wanted to congratulate you!"
Right now, John would surely perceive his 3DS behaving plain weird. Random flashes of light and strange sounds coming from it, despite the console being turned off.

The strange behavior of the 3DS caught the attention of John and Casimeir. Both looked to it simultaneously in wonder. "Weird," John spoke, "I thought I turned the game off."
Little to the pair's knowledge, John's Digivice began to act peculiar as well. The device's screen then emanated a pale white light which shined through John's pants. "The hell?" The Tamer fished out his Digivice and stared at the screen. Now that he saw it, he noticed that both the Digivice and the 3DS were emitting the same haywire sounds.
The Tamer quickly grabbed his 3DS and opened it. The same blank white displayed on the top and bottom screens. Casimeir looked concerned. "John, what's happening?"
Both sets of lights intensified. They grew brighter and brighter, effectively blinding the Tamer and his Digimon. Before they could react, two green lasers shot our of the 3DS's camera lens. John and Casimeir were frozen where they sat as if they were locked in time.
The lasers commenced scanning over the duo and effectively turned their bodies into pure data. Now that the two were fully converted, the 3DS pulled them through the screen, and the light faded. The only thing that displayed on the device were two words: TRANSFER COMPLETE.
A severe headache pounded against John's head while all he could see was a black void. Different thoughts crossed his mind. One of which was the question of whether he was asleep or not. He would follow his first instinct and attempt to open his eyes.
John's eyelids shot open. Revealed to him was the sight of a beautiful blue sky. Before he could take in the view for long, his gaze was obscured by the face of Casimeir. "You're awake!" the Agumon chimed. "I was starting to get worried!"
A groan came from the Tamer while he forced himself to sit up. Thankfully the headache began to subside. "Ow...What happened?" Jonn asked. "And why is it daytime? Wasn't it eight in the evening a few moments ago?"
"Well," Casimeir began, "I'm just as confused as you are." He turned his head to look at their surroundings. "But seeing how we're somewhere completely different, I don't think we're even in Japan anymore."
Feeling more centered now, John scanned the immediate area for anything that might help him figure out where he was. The pair were currently on the edge of a grassy pathway, with trees all around them. He then saw a wooden sign that read directions and a route number "Route 120," he mouthed. "Mauville City ahead." The reality of the situation hit him like a ton of bricks. "Wait a second!"
The Tamer shot up to his feet like a bolt of lightning. He couldn't believe what he was seeing! But in his excited state, he failed to notice that there was a girl and a Plotmon not too far down the road.

It didn't matter how hard Kyo tried, the guy who had vanished was gone for good, never to appear again. That made her a little sad. "Aww man, that guy's digimon was fantastic. A pity that we won't see them ever again." She seemed to be too into the moment at the moment, even if Yuu didn't find a better time to ask the inevitable, obvious question.
["So... what're we gonna do? We're kinda still trapped in this place, and even if you have a nice haircut, I think that won't do it in the long run."] Whatever they decided to do, however, she was sure that it won't really help them to get out of here. Just... what was this world? Could it be the Digital World, in some way? After all, everyone who lived in here seemed to be awfully comfortable with the presence of digimons. But, on the other hand, this place seemed to be too urbanized, and the volume of humans compared to digimons seemed to be really high.
This place was a massive headache; that was probably the best description Yuu could give it.
Before she could keep on with her thoughts, however, Kyo's voice brought her back to reality. "Lookie! The guy from before, he's over there! Let's go!" Wait... what? Seriously the guy appeared out of thin air, some distance ahead of them? Talk about weird. Still, this was probably a good opportunity for somebody to explain them everything; from the strange looks they could get to why exactly this place functioned the way it did. So, making their way towards him... and his seemingly newfound Agumon, the pair waved.
"Heelloooo~!" Kyo didn't waste any effort on that effusive greeting. "You were the guy from before, weren't you? How did you manage to teleport over there? That trick was pretty neat!"
This would be... an interesting exchange, if anything.

The Agumon and his Tamer turned to see their greeters to this strange new place. To say that they were shocked to see another Digimon would have been the understatement of the millennia. It took a moment for John to register that he wasn't the only person who was stuck in the Pokémon game. "What? I didn't teleport," John stated. "And I just got here. But the question is, how did /you/ get here?" "You're a Tamer, aren't you?" Casimeir would chime in. "That has to mean that you're stuck in the Pokémon game like us!" The initial consternation began to fade from John's mind. The situation was surreal, no doubt. But to find another pair from the real world certainly raised some questions. Just as the man was about to explain what his Partner meant, two strangely (yet fashionably) clad rogues arrived on the scene in a hurry. A man and a woman, both dressed as if they were fresh out of a play about piracy. Each had a sinister grin on their visages. John and Casimeir knew exactly who these thugs were, and got themselves into more defensive postures. Their outfits consisted of black bandannas, blue and white striped short-sleeved shirts, black gloves, black sashes, and black shoes. But their matching outfits stopped there. While the two strangers had similar, there were some minor differences. The man wore gray-blue pirate pants, and the woman wore dark gray shorts. "Well well well," the man spoke in a gruff voice, "it looks like that info we got was right! Two rare Pokémon that have never been seen before. And here I thought that guy in Mauville Town was pulling my leg!"The woman gave a hearty laugh. "Boy, the boss sure is gonna be proud of us when we take them to him!"Her partner in crime stepped forward rather menacingly. "You hear that? We're gonna take your Pokémon. Hand 'em over!"

It was fun how Kyo's question got answered with... another question! Still, she had seen how that guy had disappeared, then appeared some distance away! "Nuh-huh! I saw how you disappeared after a battle, then you reappeared in here! That counts as teleporting in my books!" The dog with the absolutely fabulous hairdo said."Aaaanyhow~! We kinda just woke up here after going to sleep last night, so, it's a bit of a mystery!"
Yuu found herself nodding at the Agumon's remark; even if that was a word she didn't fancy all that much, that was something that didn't matter at the moment. Her partner, however, focused on the question that mattered. "Wait, we're in a Pokémon game? I didn't know pokémon looked like this! They're a kinda cute, even if not as cute as me. Why didn't you tell me this was a pokémon game, Yuu? It could've saved us some trouble!" Truth to be told, the blonde didn't know much about the franchise, having pretty much zero interest on it. Still, that was really weird. How had they gotten into a game, of all things? That didn't really make any sense.
She shrugged, waiting for a bit of a more detailed explanation from any of her new acquaintances. Regrettably, she wouldn't get any, given that a pretty fashionable duo showed up, their intent being... stealing their digimons? Yuu wasn't familiar with how these thugs operated, but she knew for sure that the chances of her "handing" them Kyo were zero. Not like the Plotmon didn't have a voice in this matter, though! "Why would I get handed by somebody to anybody? I thought I could think on my own about who I wanted to be with..." her voice trailed off, unsure of what exactly was happening. "But we can play for a while if that's what you want! I'm sure we'll have lots of fun!"
Was she measuring the seriousness of the situation? Probably; maybe she was giving them the first move. Wonder what these guys would exactly come up with.

The two thugs erupted with laughter in unison from the Plotmon's words. Strangely enough, they weren't at all phased by the fact that Kyo could speak! To them, she was just a rare psychic Pokemon. "Hear that, Trish?" the man cackled to his partner. "That Pokémon thinks this is only a game!""Do they even know who we are, Dan?" the woman jibed. "This isn't a game, you dolts! But if it's playing you want, then you're in for some rough seas ahead!"Menacing grins came to the thugs' faces while they each pulled a red and white ball from their belts. Dan was the first to toss his orb toward John and company. "Gobat," he shouted, "teach these punks a lesson!"Trish threw her ball alongside her partner. "Carvahna! Show them what Team Aqua is made of!"
The two orbs bounced off of the grass before hanging in midair and opening. From within the balls, a red energy jolted toward the ground. The energy formed into two medium-sized creatures akin to Digimon; one which resembled a large-mouthed blue bat, and the other a red and blue piranha with jagged fins. John knew what had to be done to beat the Team Aqua grunts. He had always wanted to see who would win in a fight between Digimon and Pokémon. He couldn't help but become excited as he gave a confident look to his Agumon. "Casimeir, you know what to do!" the Tamer exclaimed. John then peered toward Yuu and her Plotmon. "What do you say? Let's take on these grunts together. I'll help explain how battling works for Pokémon. All we have to do is make their Pokémon faint."The Agumon stepped forth. He was not about to let these Team Aqua members take him and the Plotmon away from their tamers. He knew that it was possible for anyone to steal Digimon, but that didn't mean he had to go willingly! To help Yuu for what may be her first Pokémon battle, John decided to go into detail. "You see," the Tamer began in a low voice, "Pokémon have typings much like how our Partners have elements. Each type has strengths and weaknesses. Being that we're in this game, our Digimon might have typings as well, so we'll need to be conscious about our strategy." John offered Yuu a reassuring smile. He had faith that she would be able to catch on pretty quickly.

It was an understatement to say that Yuu was confused at the situation; people cosplaying as pirates, wanting to take her digimon? Not to say that she knew how her partner behaved; those guys have taken their last chance at this encounter ending cordially as if it were a joke or something, so what would follow wouldn't be pretty. "Why don't we let the games begin, then? Fun for everybody." Soon enough, Kyo's visage was enveloped by a cloud of thick, black smoke, finally disappearing with a loud poofing sound. The display made Yuu shrug; this wouldn't end well... for them.
Truth to be told, she didn't know much about pokémon battles, but given the appearances these guys had, they didn't look to be... that strong? Not to say that, in general, pokémon looked... a bit toonish? Least to say, she was glad that her temporary brother-at-arms were proficient at the topic and helpful, to boot. Thanking whoever designed the outfit she currently wore that she still had a notepad on the first pocket she reached, she quickly scribbled a note and passed it to him.
Sure thing. They won't even know what hit them, at least if this stuff works like digimon battles. Typing, you say? Hmm...
Thinking about what Kyo would do next, she began to think about what type her attacks would have, given they had one. Another note was passed quickly.
Is there anything like dark as an element? Which of those two should my partner attack if that's her next attack's element?
To be honest, both pokémon looked relatively creepy. Hopefully, that didn't mean the two would be resistant to Kyo's attacks.

John listened to Yuu as she asked about which Pokémon she should specifically target. It was good of her to ask; it meant that she was learning the ropes of Pokémon battles. The Tamer thought her inquiry over, trying to see if he could remember what the two Pokémon were weak to.
"Well," John confided, "Golbat is a Poison and Flying type. Carvanha is Dark and Water. If you have any moves that are considered Dark type, they won't do much against the Carvanha. However, Dark is weak to Fighting, Ice, and Fairy moves." John pointed to the Golbat, now. "Golbat there is weak to Rock, Electric, Psychic, and Ice moves."
Dan and Trish were beginning to become agitated. It was obvious, really, by the gritting of their teeth and scowls on their faces. "Quit yer stallin'!" Dan exclaimed while he seethed with impatience. "If you refuse to fight, then you forfeit!"
John snapped his gaze to Dan and Trish, then to their Pokémon. "Casimeir, target the Golbat! You know what to do!" he coached.
The corners of Casimeir's mouth curled into a gentle smirk. A golden energy charged within his core in preparation for his first strike. Now within close range of the bat Pokémon, Casimeir aimed to chomp down on him with his teeth and then slash twice with his dagger-like claws. "Cross Fire!"
The Agumon's attack was successful. The moment that the reptile's nails and chompers hit, the Golbat cried out in pain as it was knocked back a few feet. But it was not down for the count. The blue bat shook it off and flapped its way back to where it hovered before while Casimeir hopped back to his original spot.

So... let's see. Types; a lot of them. From what she had gathered, each type resisted some and was weaker to others. Kinda like rock-paper-scissors, but... a lot more complex, in all honesty. Taking out her notepad again, she made sure to make quickly scribble the weaknesses and resistances explained by John, just before passing yet another note.
Alright, so... what I've gathered thus far is that my partner should attack the bat. Seems like a good plan to me.
Making some quick signs, that message was conveyed to Kyo. Quickly treading through the battlefield, she tried to close the gap between her position and the Golbat's. If successful, her fangs would glow eerily with dark energy, just before trying to sink them on one of the bat's wings... twice. Two powerful biting moves were chained in a quick succession; with any luck, the surprise factor alongside the power of the moves would be enough to critically injure, or maybe even knock out Golbat.
Depending on the result of her movements, she'd either return back near her newfound ally, or would just remain there, pretty much cornering the remaining enemy pokémon. As the small skirmish ensued, that made Yuu wonder; battles between digimon could be very long, but...
How hardy these two guys tend to be? I mean, it's not hard to guess that they both the bat and the fish seem to be offense-oriented, but appearances can deceive, I guess.

Just as planned, the Team Aqua Grunt's Golbat took the devastating hit. With a weak, defeated cry, the blue creature's eyes closed while it fainted. Before it could hit the ground, its body converted into a white energy which got pulled into Dan's Pokéball which he had reached out with to call his Golbat back.
"Are you kidding me? This Golbat is super weak!" Dan exclaimed.
Trish clicked her tongue in detest. "We still have Carvanha, Dan. And it better not be a failure like your Golbat was." With a sly grin, Trish punched her hand as a show of dominance. "Carvanha! Use Water Gun on that yellow Pokémon!"
Following her orders, the Carvanha blasted a stream of high-pressure water from its maw toward Casimeir.
The Agumon was ready for the Carvanha. When the stream of water was about to make its impact, Casimeir leaped high above it. A fire grew within his body in preparation for his next technique and unleashed a decently-sized ball of fire toward the fish Pokémon. "Pepper Breath!"
However, the female Aqua Grunt would not be beaten as easily as her counterpart. "Carvanha, dodge it!" she barked. The piranha-like beast's eyes narrowed and quickly swept towards the left as if it was swimming in water. The fireball, unfortunately, missed its target and collided into the ground instead.

Seemingly, the attack had been successful! Kyo smirked at that, pretty satisfied with the result. She was going to politely offer them a chance of surrendering peacefully, but these guys seemed to be bent on fighting a losing battle. Oh well, so be it. The pair observed at how the fish and Casimeir began to gaze at each other; would the Plotmon intervene? From what Yuu had gathered, fishie was a water type, so a guy with fire attacks like Agumon wouldn't do much. And Kyo seemed to have arrived at the very same conclusion.
"Say, Yuu. What if we stop playing and get a little more serious?" Just as those words were said, the blonde stared at her digivice with a vague smile on her face. She'd be all to happy to comply with that request. A faint glow went through the device just as a small shape illuminated its screen.
The Plotmon's visage shifted and contorted into the thin veil of a pale, purple glow growing considerably and finally dispersed as Kyo had adopted her BlackGaogamon form. Roaring with ferocity, she tried to pounce the Carvanha, her intentions to rake the fish with her claws. She didn't expect to defeat her, or even to land a solid hit, but at least the distraction of fighting two enemies at once would give her companion an opening.

Expressions of shock claimed the faces of the two Team Aqua Grunts due to Kyo's sudden transformation. A black wolf-like Digimon now stood where the Plotmon did mere seconds ago. While this was obviously a Digivolution, the grunts were none the wiser. "These punks can Mega evolve!" shouted Trish. With a disgusted look, she watched helplessly as the stronger foe dispatched her Carvanha. Trish reached out with her pokéball and brought the fainted fish back to the orb. Her partner looked just as disappointed. "You're kidding right?" Dan asked rhetorically. "Oh man, the boss is gonna kill us!"John pumped his fist into the air with gusto. "Alright, we did it!" John exclaimed. Casimeir, equally thrilled, leaped into his Partner's arms in a big hug. The two couldn't help but succumb to joyous laughter. However, the celebrations would have to wait as a new individual arrived on the scene. Speeding up to the group on a white motorcycle was an adult woman dressed in a police uniform. A single gold star rested on her cap to signify her status as a policewoman. Her bike skidded to a halt, and she hopped off of her bike with a pistol drawn, pointing it at the Grunts. "Halt!" she ordered, "in the name of the Law!"The officer in question had cerulean hair spiked behind her shoulders. Her auburn eyes burned with a fiery passion. The woman's face was stern as she glared daggers at Dan and Trish. The dastardly duo immediately shot their hands up into the air as fear struck them to the core. "You are both under arrest!" the officer said harshly. "Your Pokémon stealing days are over!" John and Casimeir could only watch in awe. Both the Team Aqua Grunts hung their heads in shame. "On the bright side," Trish murmured, "the boss can't punish us if we're in jail."The officer made quick work of the Team Aqua members. Within moments, the Grunts were sitting on the ground and bound in handcuffs. The policewoman would then approach John and the others with a bright smile across her lips. "You were very brave," she began, "standing up to those Grunts the way you did. You must both have excellent bonds with your Pokémon to take down two criminals like that." She offered her hand to initiate a handshake with John. "Officer Jenny, at your service."John returned her warm smile in kind, grasping her gloved hand. "Thank you, Officer," he beamed. "We couldn't have done it without our partners."This seemed to cause Jenny to smile even brighter. "Well, you were lucky. As it turns out, these two grunts happen to be wanted for a reward. And being that you two subdued them, that means the reward money goes to you!" Officer Jenny quickly wrote something down on her notepad, then ripped a page off before handing it to John. "Take this to the station down the road, and you'll both receive compensation."

That was... all? These guys were a pair of weaklings! Both Kyo and Yuu looked, slightly flabbergasted how quickly both digimon had dispatched their enemies. For a franchise that supposedly was super popular, pokémon surely felt weak.
Kyo's body shone yet again, this time devolving into her Plotmon form. The bad side? Her hairdo had been lost forever, making her expression to drop down into a sad smile. "I... I was fabulous." She muttered, treading back to where Yuu was. "And I'll never be like that anymore."
Crouching back and patting her head, Yuu smiled gently. ["Don't worry. I'll get you some ice cream when we get to the city or something. And if we get stuck more time, maybe we'll be able to go to the hairdresser tomorrow."]
That prompted an immediate smile from Kyo's part, and the hugged right away. "Yaaaaaaaay!" As the two shared that small gesture, a woman approached, and by the way she was dressed, the two had to guess she was... some kind of policewoman or something? Excellent timing! She quickly explained to them that these two were wanted criminals and that there was a reward being offered for them. Those were even more pleasant surprises!
Once the whole ordeal was done, the Plotmon looked back at John and Casimeir, Yuu right behind her. "Well, I guess that we return back to the city and share the reward? That'd be the fairest thing we can do, I guess." And after making a small pause, she added. "Then, I guess we have to find a way to get back to our world. Hope it won't take too much time; as fun as this place is... I'd prefer to go back to home than to remain in here."

John was intrigued by Officer Jenny's words. Never before had he seen anything about receiving Pokémon Dollars for defeating grunts in the games. At least, besides the money that people could win after trainer battles. But the concept of a reward was alien to him. The Tamer looked down at the paper while Officer Jenny scolded the two Grunts, reading them their rights as she did. John looked to Yuu and her partner with a soft smile. "Guess we should get going, then. Mauville City shouldn't be more than a few minutes from here." After folding the note and inserting it into his left pocket, John and Casimeir led the way toward the major city with their new friends in tow. Based on John's memory of the game, no other trainers would be on the route looking to battle. Before long, the group entered the metropolitan area. Once John and the others approached the police station, the Tamer's digivice began to act wildly! The screen flashed to life while it vibrated, a digital tone resounding from its speaker. The sudden misbehavior induced John to pull it out of his pocket to inspect it. He really needed to buy a keychain for this thing! On the lit screen, moving text danced across with the words "PORTAL OPEN."Sure enough, the police station's sliding glass doors spread apart to reveal the very park that John originally resided in before the adventure. "That's Shibuya Square!" He exclaimed. Was this the ticket home he had been waiting for? John and Casimeir looked to Yuu and her Plotmon. If the pair were going to return to the real world, they wouldn't dare leave their new friends behind. Warm, reassuring smiles came to their faces. The Tamer reached out his hand, offering it to Yuu. "What do you say? Are you coming with us?"
Posts for John, and Bits for Yuu. Please and thank you!
