This MPC is the "Surprise, it's me!" prompt. I'll be doing 1 half with Luke/Bellamy, and 1 half with Owen.
I usually don't find it worth setting my alarm clock anymore. Namely because my neighbor's dogs are always allowed to bark in their backyard every morning at around 8am. Whether I'm okay with this or not depends on how bad my insomnia was the previous night. And indeed, it had been pretty bad.
I got up out of bed, wandering into the lounge of my apartment. I then switch on the PC first thing, given that like all computers of its age, it takes at least 10 minutes to load before I can use it. I serve myself breakfast of toast, margarine and vegemite with a cup of coffee, then I walk over to the desk to see what had happened in the world while I had been asleep.
After a rush of relief washes over me as I realize the world hasn't been consumed by nuclear fire, I then prepare to check in with my friends, when, I hear a noise next to me.
"Huh. So this is the guy that made us, eh?" a voice asks. I think that I must have accidentally left an autoplaying video to play. When I realize that nothing's playing, the voice speaks again. "You're Spire, right?"
I then realize the noise is not coming from my PC, but someone next to me. I gasp, turn, and come face to face with two creatures half my size. Both covered in fur, standing on two legs, one purple with a red scarf, and one red and white with a blue scarf. I stare at them for a moment before I realize that this must still be a dream.
"Luke...? Bellamy?" I ask, cleaning my glasses so I can see them properly.
"Yep that's us, baby!" Bellamy says, looking around my apartment. "Yeesh, could tidy up once in a while...".
"Eh, it's what I expected" Luke immediately interjects. "I mean his mind was filthy enough to make someone like Bells here...".
"Hey, guys, that's a bit personal" I tell them, slightly hurt. After all, seeing these two in my own residence was something, while completely unexpected, was something of a fascinating spectacle. Even if it is only a dream, (a particularly lucid one at that).
"Ah we're just kiddin', you should know that" Bellamy said. "Right then. What's the plan for the day, eh?"
I hesitate. I didn't have much planned at all this day, other than check for things to do to spend the time. "Er... well... I don't have much planned, other than paying rent" I answered.
"Okay then, let's do that first" Luke said. "I mean we had to do quite a lot to get to this place, and we're not gonna sit around a house all day".
I then realize what they were planning, then I panic a little. "But... you're digimon, you can't go outside".
"Spire please, don't say 'can't' in front of us" Bellamy sneers. "We know the drill, pal, we got our holosuits. And besides, this is Australia, we're probably gonna have to fight like a dozen of your predatory animals to get to the renting place don't we?"
By now I was pretty exasperated. But I suppose if they were holosuited then they could ride in the car with me. So after I finish breakfast and get dressed, I walk outside, where Luke and Bellamy follow as a pair of teenage boys.
"If anyone asks, you two are my little cousins" I tell them, thinking they looked a bit too old to be my children.
"Sure, sure" Bellamy answered, claiming the front seat. As I drove down the road, I was beginning to suspect that this was not in fact a dream. But... something that might very well be real.
"Huh, not as many killer koalas as I thought there'd be" Bellamy remarked, looking out the window. The only animals he could see were dogs, birds and the occasional cat.
"Yeah, they don't usually come this far into cities" I answer. "So, uh, why exactly did you two come here?" I ask them.
"Eh you know us, just a couple of adventurers" Luke answered. "But... well, mainly to celebrate the fact that we're Super Mega's now we thought 'hey, let's try going through the screen' and see what it's like out here".
I nod. By now I'm kind of relieved that the two of them aren't taking cheap shots at me, like how sad it is someone my age still posts so much about digimon.
"And, er, well, Spire, it's clear you enjoy playin' us" Bellamy adds. "But, well, try not to forget to take care of yaself, alright? Ya don't need to do a dozen posts every day"
I nod. That was something I had come to the conclusion a while ago. And while it was a little hard, I was at least starting to make steps toward making things better. For the rest of the trip, we mostly drive in silence. I do my errands, then prepare to drive home.
"This ain't all we're doin' today, right?" Bellamy asks, sounding disappointed. "Come on, let's check out a place you like goin' to!"
"Er..." I hesitate because I don't often like going somewhere by myself, but, then I remember that today I'm not alone. "Okay... let's check out the city gardens".
"Alrighty then, sounds good" Luke agrees. Bellamy seems a bit bored at the suggestion, but, I pointed out to him that this isn't a very big city and the options are limited. Sure we could take the train to the capital, but that'd take over an hour and a half. Eventually the holosuited Impmon agrees, and, we head out into the gardens.
"Any luck with jobs, Spire?" Luke asks as we walk toward them.
"No" I answer, disappointed. By now I was beginning to doubt I'd get one. And dwelling on it was a surefire way to get my mood down. Thankfully Luke caught on to this.
"Well, that's okay. It's probably not as easy as it sounds, eh?" Luke said. I nodded, glad that the Elecmon was saying nice things.
