"Ughh!" I groan as I collapse into my bed, my booted feet dangling off to the side. It has been a long, difficult day at work, and my feet are throbbing with pain. Somehow I maneuver my feet, wiggling and kicking until my shoes fall off one at a time with a soft thud against my carpeted floor. Man, I can feel my feet swelling already!' I think, with a little bit of exasperation coloring my inner monologue. I lay there peacefully, my window open allowing a fresh breeze to enter into my room. My fan oscillating in slow movements causing a cool current to run up my body. I close my eyes and enjoy it for just the briefest of moments. I stare across my room where my computer rests upon one of my favored possessions, an antique oak desk that I bought at 16. For some reason I smile as I try to get out of bed and cross the room to my desk.
I sit down in the leather office chair and boot up my computer. While I wait for windows to load, I slowly spin around in circles enjoying the room whipping by. I giggle like a little kid as I grab the desk, stopping my spinning abruptly. I enter my password and wait for the desktop to load. A few moments later I am opening up Google Chrome, and hitting a bookmarked link to one of my favorite role play sites. It won't take long to load the screen but I notice my cup is empty, so I go to the kitchen and pour myself some peach tea into my favorite blue coffee cup. I grab an apple off of my table and head back to my room, biting into the crisp, ruby red fruit.
I sit back down, setting my tea upon the glass topped desk, and frown in disappointment. No new replies to my current threads. What a bummer. I say hey in the chatlog to everyone online, and scroll through a few friend's posts. A part of me is secretly jealous, they all write so well. They make me want to be a better writer, I just hope I make them proud. As I finish reading, I decide to look at the 'mall.' Still 10,000 bits away from the D-Arc, I hang my head in shame, I should have raise the bits long ago... but life just gets in the way. Oh well, no use worrying about the past, lets see what they've got right now! Excitedly I read the three MPC posts and finally decide to tackle the first one. The premise is awesome, and I love it. What would happen if you and your character met.
I grin widely as I open a new document, and start typing a few things here and there. I decide that I would be sucked into a digital vortex, falling in-front of my character and her partner. How Mitsuko would react to finally meeting me. Patamon making a few well timed jokes. How I would gush over the cuteness of Patamon, and reveal how he had always been my favorite. Then finally I start a the battle scene with Tactimon. After fifteen minutes of writing, I throw the apple core into my waste basket, and pick up my cup to take another drink. 'Crap, its empty.' I frown at my cup, but get out of my comfy chair, and open my door.
That is when everything changed.
A golden gate hovers above my floor and before I even have time to think, it opens and I am sucked into the swirling and pulsating portal. I know I should be surprised that this... surreal and crazy thing is happening. However, all I see is my cup falling to the ground as the gate closes, and I hope it isn't broken. I know, I really need to sort out my priorities.
You know in the movies people walk into portals in one frame, then out a few seconds later. Not much is really said about what it is like inside the gate. They come out, unscathed and their outfit and hair look flawless. Well, I can testify that it is nothing but Hollywood bullshit. It was nothing like the movies. Whoever wrote that fantasy, the bitch lied! It was as if my body was sucked into a tornado, my body flinging around the vortex like a rag doll. Suddenly I was slammed into the sides, pain shooting up my shoulder from the impact. Yet down I fell, or was it forward. All sense of direction ceased to exist, the only thing that remained was confusion and pain. Suddenly I felt as if someone was microwaving me, my whole body became hotter and hotter. Electric currents surged through the gate coursing into me. A silent scream ravaged my body, I didn't even have the power to express pain.
As suddenly as it started, it all stopped. I can't recall how long I was inside of the portal, it seemed like an eternity, yet like an instant all at the same time. I can only guess that time ceased to exist or was exempt from the place I was suddenly expelled from. The dark tunnel suddenly became brighter and I was falling from the sky. This time a scream ripped through me, until I crashed into something firm, yet warm. The last thing I remember seeing was a golden glow, then everything went black.
A short while later my eyes opened, I blinked in confusion. So if it wasn't a dream, then where was I? I tried to sit up, but was held down by the sound of a bell-like voice. "I wouldn't try to move if I were you." she said. I looked for the source of the voice, my eyes widening in disbelief, as a pale maiden, with long silvery hair and the deepest blue eyes was sitting at my side. "I know this is hard to believe, but you're---"
"I'm in the digital world." I finished her sentence, as I leaned back into the makeshift bed she hastily had prepared. I leaned back into the towel she used to prop my head up. Her eyes were surprised, her light pink lips formed a perfect o in surprise. "You... know..." She blinked in astonishment "You know about... the digital world."
"I have to be dreaming. This can't be real." I groaned as I covered my face with my hands. "Oh, it's real all right! But I can pinch you if you'd like." A cheeky voice called out. Slowly I lowered my hands, noting a brown and tan fur covered creature, horror was clearly etched onto my face. "It's alright, he won't hurt you. He's..." I sat up, holding my hand out for her to stop. "He's your partner. His name is Patamon. He is able to Digivolve into Angemon." Her eyebrows shot up in surprise as I continued on. "And you're Mitsuko Kaioh, daughter of Masanori and Helena Bellerose Kaioh."
"How do you know--" I held my hand out again at her interruption. "I know you, both of you." This time, it was Patamon's turn. "Yeah, I can agree you know us, but how? Are you a stalker?" At this point Mitsuko grabbed her partner, and scolded him. "No, he has a point. Not that I'm a stalker!" I clarified, as my mortification was written upon my face. "I... I know it sounds crazy, but I created you. Both of you. You're my characters for a Role Play. I wrote your stories, I know your histories. Likes. Dislikes. Every embarrassing story. Every secret." I looked down at my lap. How could this have happened? How did I create two lives? How could I have inflicted so much pain into their pasts? Was I a monster? A silent tear streamed down my face as I looked up at them. Mitsuko seemed to be partially in disbelief, and partially sad. Patamon however had other views. "Suki-chan, I think he hit his head a bit harder than we initially thought. This guy took the first trailmon to cuckoo town!"
The silverette just shook her head in exasperation at her partner. "So, you say you created us. Our stories." Mitsuko said softly, but I could note some disbelief hiding within her own voice. I couldn't say a word, so I just nodded my head mutely. "Well, you have to admit it is a bit far-fetched." Again, I just nodded as my eyes fell back to my own lap. I knew there was something important about to happen, but every time I tried to remember it seemed to vanish. "You know, I've always loved Patamon. He's so cute" I said softly, as he landed into my lap. I tentatively brushed a hand through his soft fur. I felt him nuzzle into my hand, with a small purr-like sound emanating from him. "I know, I'm the cutest." And with a giggle, I had to agree.
A few moments, and an argument later, I was finally allowed to be on my own two feet again! I stretched and walked through the trees. I hadn't really noticed before now, but we were in a beautiful wooded area, it reminded me of home. Soon we were breaking out of the trees, and into a small grassy area where there was a stream bubbling softly. Through out the entire trip, Patamon tried to quiz me on all the information I knew. I seemingly must have passed, because he got rather quiet. Until... "Okay, final question." Patamon said with a sly grin. "If you know this one, I will not argue your claims anymore." Mitsuko however, shook her head in irritation. "You said that the last five times...." But that didn't stop his next comment. "So... What happened in the Tundra with Elliot and..." Before he could even finish his sentence, the blushing silverette grabbed her partner and clamped her hand down over his mouth. "OH. MY. GOD!"
I was blushing myself! "Elliot and Isaac! I... am so sorry." I repeated over and over. Mitsuko looked at me, her eyes widened in surprise. "You... know... did he..." Before she could even finish her sentence, she was shaking her partner. "WHO DID YOU TELL!" Patamon tried to protest but it was useless. "He... didn't tell me. I wrote it." I tried to protest. I sat down by the stream then gave accurate descriptions of the Egg of Harmony, and the hunt that entailed. I did, however, skate over the slight embarrassing moments with poor Elliot. Mitsuko had stopped shaking her partner when I started to recount the tale. "I have caused you both so much trouble." I said softly, as tears formed in my eyes. "Not just with this, but your histories. I am so sorry."
Mitsuko stood up, and put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't. Without you, we wouldn't live. Nobody's life is perfect. Without strife, we wouldn't appreciate the good things." She lowered her hand and gave me a big smile. "I am just glad to know that we have someone who cares for us, and is willing to put up a fight for us."
Fight. Tactimon. That was what I was forgetting!
"Oh no!" I whispered, as I stood and whipped my head over towards the west. "I forgot, I can't believe it. Why didn't I notice it before!" Mitsuko looked confused, and Patamon... well he always looks confused. "What are you..." Mitsuko started, but I cut across her. "In a few minutes we are going to be attacked. I wrote this. This entire encounter. If I remember correctly, everything has happened according to what I wrote!" I groaned. "Which means, in about thirty seconds, Tactimon is going to bust out of that treeline." I pointed towards the western wall of trees. Patamon jumped out of Mitsuko's arms. "I don't know if it is Tactimon, but someone is coming. I hear them." The young musician stood up, and pulled out her Digivice. "Alright, well better being prepared right?" She looked towards her partner and they nodded in unison.
"Patamon digivolve to... Angemon!"
Fifty yards from us, a the dark figure of Tactimon finally strode out of the western woods.
((OOC: I currently have 212 sentences, but I am unfinished with my post. Hopefully you will allow me to to finish what I currently have.))
