Mitsuko walked through the Eastern Timberlands her partner perched contentedly on her head, and a picnic basket in her arms. "You know, this was a great idea." She said softly, as she exited a patch of trees and came towards a nice open meadow. The smell of flowers was delicate, and fused perfectly with the tranquil setting. "I know... all my ideas are great!" Patamon said happily. This earned him a rather sharp poke from his partner.
"Oh no they're not!" Mitsuko argued as she set the basket down and spread a blanket over the area. "Remember the time you launched us into a snow bank?"
"Oh... yeah, but..."
"Or the time you thought it would be a good idea to make rather... embarrassing innuendos about me and a certain boy."
"Yeah... but!"
"Or the time that you.."
"Okay, okay, okay!" Patamon huffed, before he plopped himself onto the blanket. "But, you have to admit, everything turned out alright!"
Mitsuko just rolled her eyes. "Yes, it did. But the point is that it would have never happened if some little 'Mon hadn't created the opportunity for the situation to begin with!" The silverette exclaimed exasperatedly.
"Oh, details!" He said dismissively, as Mitsuko pulled our her D-Terminal and checked her last message sent, inviting Alicia, Maia, and Kuu to a celebratory picnic. It was to celebrate the fact that Alicia obtained a new spirit, but also that they all had lived through the terror. She quickly sent the girls another message.
"Hey guys, The picnic is set up. Meet us in Mainframe Hills, Eastern Timberlands. Enclosed are the coordinates."
"How long until the show? I'm star-VING!" Patamon whines, as Mitsuko sat in the grass beside him.
"PS: Please hurry, before this little monster eats all the food before you guys get here!"
Mitsuko smiled and pressed send. This would be a relaxing day, for sure. She ran her hand through Patamon's soft fur, absentmindedly.

Alicia had been humming softly to herself, having a quiet day when the message came in. “Ha? Mitsuko is messaging? I wonder what about...” Musing, she flipped to the message, and smiled softly. “Heh... A picnic, huh?”
”You’re going, right?” Kisara asked with a knowing smirk.
“You better believe I am.” Alicia shot back, D-Scanner in hand. A quick trip to the station had her in the Digital World again and she was already hammering Steel into place, turning into Mercurialdramon and taking flight. The coordinates were easy enough to follow, and she had dragon’s-eye view of the area as she flew.
In due time, she had descended down near the picnic site Mitsuko had set down at, thumping onto the ground and jogging into view before changing back to her human form. “Hey Mitsuko!” She chimed with a wave.
”We appreciate the efforts you’ve taken to set this up.” Sol noted with a smile as he and Kisara appeared beside Alicia as well. ”It’s not easy to find a quiet day when you’re juggling a life strung between two worlds.”
“Hope the little porker hasn’t eaten too much.” The red head quipped jokingly, grinning at Patamon. She didn’t mean anything mean by it, it was just a convenient joke as frankly he looked like a bat-eared pig...

A small ping alerted Mitsuko to a new message. Quickly she opened the D-Terminal her eyes scanning the message, and her eyes widened. "Well... Maia can't make it." She said softly, as she continued to pet Patamon. "Apparently Kuu decided it was a good idea to try to... oh my!" Mitsuko gasped.
"What... what did Kuu-kuu-kachu do?!" Patamon inquired, as he tried to look at the screen.
"Nothing!" Mitsuko quickly shut the D-terminal before he could see the shenanigans that the pipefox digimon had attempted. Patamon already had enough bad ideas, she really didn't need to add Kuu's to the mix as well. Something told her that Patamon would try to eat fire crackers, to try to breathe fire as well.
Mitsuko's eyes were on the clouds, as she and Patamon called out shapes.
"I see... a star!"
"I see... a cake!"
"I see a dragon!"
"I see... pumpkin seeds."
"No... really... I see a dragon!" Mitsuko stood up, as she watched it descending towards them. "It's Alicia!" Mitsuko ran a few steps towards the Alicia and the Spirits. "Hey guys!" Mitsuko called back cheerfully. "Nope, I stopped him from devouring the entire thing. It was a tough battle, but I think I managed pretty well." Mitsuko added with a grin. "Hey, it was no effort at all. Really. I just wanted to... say thank you."
Patamon however, crossed his arms and huffed "I'm not a pig." He turned his head towards Alicia, giving her a playful wink. "But if we don't start eating soon, I may turn into one." He flew back towards the picnic area. Mitsuko chased after him. "Oh no you don't!"

“Hahaha, I wouldn’t have wanted to be in your shoes for that challenge!” Alicia quipped back. “Well... Your welcome, certainly, but what’re you thanking us for?”
“If I were to hazard a guess, I would presume she speaks of your efforts to unite her with her partner, as well as going above and beyond to safeguard her when she insisted on joining your hunt for your light side Ultimate form.” Sol mused, scratching his chin with a claw. “At least, that’s the reasoning that makes the most sense to me.”
“Hah, one way or another, it was no problem! We do what we do cause it’s the right thing to do! You ever wind up needing help yourself, feel free to give us a ring!” Kisara cut in, giggling.
“Ah, hey! Save some for the rest of us!” Much like Mitsuko, Alicia bolted to chase after Patamon, leaving the two spirits laughing to themselves as they followed at a more sedate pace.
“It’s always the little ones that are most excitable, hmm?” Sol mused, looking to Kisara.
“Mhmm. That’s how the cookie crumbles, it seems. Those two, Mitsuko and Patamon, are perfect together.” the ice maiden answered back. “Just like you were probably the best advisor to work with Alicia. Who knows where she’d be if it was anyone else showing her the ropes.”
Sol waved the second part off, rolling his eyes. Still, he had a small smile at the praise.

"It wasn't a psycho metal dino... but it was a rather scary battle." Mitsuko quipped as she grabbed Patamon out of the picnic basket. Patamon would have had a retort, if he hadn't had a pork bun stuck in his mouth. The silverette giggled as she pet the fur on her partner, and opened her basket for Alicia.
"I may have gone a bit overboard. Pork buns, sushi, fried omelette rolls, chicken and portabella dumplings, sweet buns, onigiri, and strawberry sweet cream cake!" Mitsuko announced as she pulled out all the items and placed the feast onto the blanket. "Oh, and I have cold soda and hot tea if you want either of those!" Mitsuko was so occupied as she was digging through the basket, she didn't notice the immediate danger! As quick as lightning a Fangmon burst into her, knocking her into Alicia! The doglike digimon snarled as it swiped a clawed paw at the Spirit user, before turning around and grabbing Patamon in his maw!
Patamon was too stunned to do anything, and with a pork bun stuck in his mouth, he couldn't attack or even shout for help! As fast as it had appeared, it had gone, a red streak running off with a pork bun stuffed Patamon!
A blood curdling scream ripped from Mitsuko's throat., her partner was taken... and her friend possibly hurt.

The Steel Spirit User giggled a bit at the quip, taking a seat. “Hey, it all worked out in the end. And it turned out having you around was the only reason I’m still here. So thank you in return for that.” Alicia smiled softly, grinning at the display. “Oh, wow, you really did go for broke. Still, better to have a wide selection then slim pickings!”
She was just about to grab a little something for herself when the sleek, furry beast leaped into action. Then she had to catch the shoulder-checked silverette. “Oof, wha-?” And then the claws bit into her leg, drawing a scream of pain as angry red lines were drawn across. Sol and Kisara burst into the area at that, wide eyed in surprise.
”What the hell was that!?” the ice maiden yelped out as Alicia pulled out her D-Scanner. So much for a peaceful picnic!
”Clearly they were ambushed. From the timing I suspect the culprit was stalking one of you for some time now.” Sol grumbled out.
Alicia, meanwhile, groaned struggled to rise, the gashes on her leg making it weak for the time being. She’d need to get that treated later... “Ever Flowing, Ever Changing, My Soul is Steel in it’s most Malleable Form!” With the incantation, Alicia once more assumed her Mercurialdramon form, steadying herself and hauling Mitsuko onto her back without a word and without allowing any protest. Not that she expected any. “Sol? Mark the spot in case we’re alright enough to come back later.”
”Already done.” the dragon confirmed.
Nodding, Alicia focused, her form smoothing out and becoming sleeker, more defined. Coiling her wings, she wrapped them around Mitsuko to hold on to her... and bolted after the Fangmon’s trail at top speed. He was going to PAY for kidnapping Patamon! And ruining the picnic but that was less of a concern. And she was a lot faster now that she’d acclimated more to her digimon forms, figuring out how to more freely manipulate Mercurialdramon’s amorphous figure. She was going to run that Fangmon down if it was the last thing she ever did.

Mitsuko felt nothing. She saw nothing. Patamon. He was gone. She had failed. Slowly she felt herself falling into the darkness of depression. She heard Alicia chanting. She felt something cool beneath her body. Something wrapped around her. What it was, she couldn't understand. What was happening. Where was Patamon.
Patamon. Patamon. Patamon.
She wasn't sure if she was repeating it over and over, or if it was in her head... this was bad. She was in shock. She knew she was in shock, but couldn't get herself out of it. Even as she felt the wind brushing her hair gently, through the gaps of Alicia's wings.
Patamon...
The Fangmon ran rapidly, as he giggled in his throat. Humans were stupid. Not much meat on them. But a Patamon was a pure gourmet feast! Oh, how he would cook and savor its flavor. Drool dripped from his fanged maw, and into Patamon's fur. Alas, he finally was able to remove the pork bun from his mouth... well... more like basically swallowed it whole, but it was gone now!
"Hey, big and ugly, you're getting your slobber on me!" Patamon whined, but was only answered with a growl. "Yeah, you're tough now... but just you wait. My partner is gonna find me, and I'm gonna kick your... Alicia!"
The Fangmon looked over his shoulder, and cursed internally. So the one human wasn't just a stupid human... it was a hybrid. With another growl, the dog pushed himself to the max, emitting a burst of speed that even impressed him. He knew he had to lose the humans, so he darted through the trees, and down across the craggy cliffs. Soon... he was almost there!
Within a few moments, he ducked into a dark cave.

Taking a quick glance back, Alicia spat out a curse under her breath as she saw Mitsuko basically just lay there limply. “Oi, Mitsuko! Mitsuko! It’s not over yet, I can still see the furry fiend!” To think she’d lose hope quite so quickly... well actually the liquid dragon couldn’t really blame her that much. But jeez, she could have a little more faith in Alicia’s ability to pursue a fleeing target.
And then she could hear Patamon spouting quips and warnings to the fox-like digimon. “So much like you, Patamon...” She muttered to herself, before growling as the Fangmon picked up speed. The blasted furball was fast, she had to admit that. Still...
“You’re not getting away that easily!” That was the tempestuous roar that left Alicia’s maw and echoed through the trees as she poured on what speed she could still manage. It would’ve been enough to keep pace, but even she couldn’t weave through the trees as easily as he could, especially with a passenger.
So she went juggernaut and just crashed through them, making sure to keep Mitsuko sheltered from any stray splinters. Alas, the impacts slowed her enough that he would be able to get the edge and slip into the cave unhindered.
...
Not that that would slow Alicia down at all. ”Down there!” Kisara shouted, cluing Alicia in on where the Fangmon had went. With that said, she put her amorphous nature to work again and started tearing the cave open with larger shoveling claws, which would cause quite the commotion that would be impossible for the fox to ignore. No way was he getting an easy pass just because he had a dark cave to call home!

"Furry... fiend..." Mitsuko muttered in a near soulless monotone voice. She could hear Patamon's flippant tone, which roused her slowly. "Pata...mon..."
It was as if she was small again, and her mother was whispering into her ear. 'Have faith darling, everything happens for a reason.'
"Mom... Patamon! Alicia!" Mitsuko's eyes widened as she slowly broke out of her shock. "Alicia, I'm sorry! Oh God!" Mitsuko covered her face, forcing the tears away before they could spill over her cheeks. slowly she ran her hands through her hair, where she encountered wooden chunks... where had those come from? "You're right. He isn't getting away. We can do this!" Mitsuko had regained her faith, no matter how bad it seemed there was always a way!
"PATAMON!!!"
Hearing his partner screaming for him, he yelled back in return. "SUKI-CHAN!!!" Which earned him a slight bite from the Fangmon. The digimon slinked this way and that, turning out of the corridors and into the wide, circular antechamber of his den, where he shook his head violently, throwing Patamon into the wall, where he crumpled unconscious.
"That'll shut you up for a bit." Fangmon spat as he looked at the enterence to his home. "Damn, these humans are more annoying than Digi-fleas. Ah well, the more the marrier."
With an evil grin, he awaited the arrival of the group pursuing him. Yes, they were destroying the entrance of his grand den... but they would pay for it... and then some.

“There we go.” Alicia mused as Mitsuko snapped out of it. “Good to have you back in gear, Mitsuko.” Just as well, she’d torn through the opening and smashed her way through the rest of the den, until she came face to face with Fangmon. At which point she let out another fierce roar that echoed off the cave’s walls upon seeing Patamon unconscious on the floor.
“Mitsuko, off you go, stay near the tunnel.” she then noted to the Silverette, scratching at the ground as her mercurial body rippled and tensed. As much as she wanted to go all out... such critical damage to Metalumindramon meant using it right now was... unwise at best. While it had the full aggressive power of an Ultimate, the injury on the chest and back armor had yet to properly heal. That was too juicy of a weak spot to expose to such a swift digimon.
”The gig’s up fox-face!” Kisara quipped to Fangmon with a grin. ”Return Mitsuko’s partner, and we’ll leave you alone. Otherwise...? Well, I don’t think Alicia’s feeling all that merciful right now. So you’d be taking your chances with an angry dragon. Not a smart idea, if you haven’t gathered.”
”... this is going too smoothly...” Sol muttered to himself in concern.

"Glad to be back." Mitsuko murmered as they broke through into the den. Her eyes locked on Fangmon, but she quickly scanned the room for... a sharp roar overcut her own scream of rage. Mitsuko did as Alicia instructed, she knew she couldn't throw herself into this battle. But her blood was boiling. He hurt her partner. Fangmon would pay.
Fangmon grinned at Kisara's flippant tone and her oh so witty retort. "Fox face? Why don't you come up with something original, you overgrown snow cone." This time the red digimon barked a real laugh. "Where are my manners? May I offer you something to drink, or to eat? Rack of lamb... side of Patamon?" The creature sulked forward a few steps, barking another bitter laugh. "However, it is a bit cool in here, lets turn up the heat, shall we?"
With that Fangmon's body began to glow with a dark purple and red light. His body elongated, and his form became a black shiny metal. Two heads appeared upon his shoulders and four sets of long, extra sharp, metallic claws upon his paws. He had digivolved from Fangmon to Cerberumon. From Champion to Ultimate... Now they were in for it.
"Hellfire!" Cerberumon's maw opened, as a burst of hellfire spewed from him, towards the spirit user! A small gasp emitted from Mitsuko in shock. Patamon's eyes fluttered open for a minute. "Mit... su.... ko... A...li...cia... run..." His voice fell as his eyes closed once again. Boy, his head hurt. He needed to rest for a bit. Yep.
Battle Log:
1. Fangmon digivolves to Cerberumon. 2. Cerberumon uses Hellfire to attack at Alicia.

”Snow cone? Now who’s being unoriginal?” Kisara snapped back with a grin. ”Heard that a million times. And I don’t even think I’m exaggerating with that one.” And then the Fangmon evolved. Kisara, naturally, lost her grin at that point, and retreated to Alicia’s mind. She was of no help in this scenario while manifested.
”They always have a trick up their sleeve!” Sol spat in frustration as he too retreated. That left Alicia and Mitsuko as the only ones in the fire’s path, and Alicia would be damned if she allowed Mitsuko to come to harm that easily.
“Shatter Fist!” With that cry, she smashed the earth below her, cracking off large pieces of rock which she then pulled into her arms and held out as a shield, letting them take the brunt of the heat as the fire washed over her. Fortunately, her larger frame broke the stream there, so none of it would get to Mitsuko, but when it ended...
Well, the Mercurialdramon wasn’t exactly well off. Throwing the slagged rocks to the side, Alicia’s body practically sizzled from the heat, snarling. There was no way she was running. Not while Patamon was in danger. Fearless, she rushed at the Cerberumon with another roar in her throat. “Mercurial Divider!”
At once, the thin liquid metal blades lashed out at the canine form both sides.
Battle log
Alicia endures Hellfire to the best of her ability with a make shift rocky shield. She still takes noticeable damage, though. Alicia strikes back with Mercurial Divider.

"Someone as old as you, hard to imagine you hear anything original anymore." The Cerberumon quipped as he watched the ice maiden retreat. "Watch out sweetie, your age is starting to show, especially around the eye area." His throaty laugh was cut off by the ingenuity of the metal dragon. "Clever girl. At least this will be an interesting challenge!" He sauntered around the room, as if looking for a weakness to exploit!
Mitsuko let out a woosh of air, as she hadn't realized that she was holding her breath. "Alicia, are you okay?" Mitsuko wanted to step forward, and see how badly the spirit user was hurt. But Alicia had already lept back into combat.
Cerberumon tried to evade the attack, but winced as the blades cut into his armored exterior. "Pesky brat!" He screamed, as he shook the blades from his armor. The damage seemed minimal, but it still stung none the less. This time he used his speed to his advantage, circling back around, leaping into the air claws first.
Should he hit, he would send mercurial bits of dragon splattering onto the walls. It may not hurt much, but if he could disperse the dragon, perhaps it would be harder to reform. That was until he noted the human girl, the one who was the cause of all of this. The creature landed short of Alicia, changing his direction "Styx Killer!" Cerberumon launched himself towards Mitsuko!
"Nooo!" Patamon screamed, as his eyes opened. Mitsuko was in danger, and he couldn't get there fast enough!
Battle Log:
1. Cerberumon takes minor damage from Alicia's attack. 2. Cerberumon uses Styx Killer and launches himself at Mitsuko, gleaming talons first!

Alicia growled in frustration as her blades failed to do more then scratch the surface. That was a bit upsetting, considering that was one of her stronger moves. And the monomolecular nature of the blades should’ve allowed them to cut at least a little deeper... Oh well, nothing to do about it now. “I’ll be fine, keep yourself safe and secure!” she shot back to Mitsuko with a grin.
Seeing the Cerberumon circle and prepare to lunge, Alicia made her own preparations, her form bulking up now, especially in her legs and arms. The sleek and aerodynamic form that served her well in the chase was traded out for one that was better able to concentrate her power for the sake of punching through Cerberumon’s armor. Just in time to, the hound was charging.
And then her worst fear came true. The canine pivoted and went for Mitsuko instead at the last second. At that moment, the Mercurialdramon saw red as she lashed a hand out, grabbing the Cerberumon’s tail. With another howl and a heave, Alicia swung the canine through the air, cutting his lunge short in the process. and slammed him down on his back.
Growling again, Alicia leaped on top, slamming her heavy body down onto him and pushing his head down with one hand, letting the other rise up with spikes on it.
”Shatter Fist!”
Alicia swung her fist down, aiming to cave Cerberumon’s chest in.
Battle log
Alicia shifts her Amorphous Form into a Power centric figure. Alicia interrupts Cerberumon’s Styx Killer, and pounces on him. Alicia attacks with Shatter Fist.

The dog digimon snarled as the dragon grabbed his tail! But snarling was all he could do, before he spun in the air and was slammed into the ground with a yelp! Yeah, he would definitely feel that one in the morning! Damn, this was one pissed off dragon. If he didn't finish her now, it wouldn't end well. With his head unable to move, he couldn't fire another Hellfire. But he could...
"Hell's Curse!"
His body began to glow, as if like a bomb ready to explode. Heat radiated off of him. Once the strike hit his body, he would take the damage. That much was certain. But it would activate a chain reaction. The damage would be taken into account, then rebounded at one and a half times its own power, back at its attacker. This was to be so sweet. That is, until a golden glow caught his attention.
"Patamon digivolve to... Angemon!"
Great. His meal just became a new contender. Which rocketed towards him, but instead of attacking the him, it hit the Metallic Dragon tackling it off of the beast.
"I know... you were... saving her." Angemon breathed in a rough, labored way. "But... that attack... isn't good." As an Angel, one was usually versed in curses and dark type attacks. His arms were wrapped around the dragon, but a surge of electricity buzzed through his body. There it was again, at first he thought he was imagining it. But it was definitely there. A current that ran between them. What could it possibly mean?
"Ange...mon." Mitsuko cried, as she fell to her knees, tears falling freely from her cheeks. Her partner was alive, and was still willing to fight for her. The fight was far from over though, as Cerberumon roared, and slowly got back up onto his paws.
