But That's Forbidden Love (Haru/Alicia - Valentine's Event)
|
Post by Haru Toriya and Tawna on Mar 1, 2018 16:52:04 GMT
Love it seemed was in the air of Whitewater this Valentine's day evening, couples of all kinds in big get-togethers. From human to human, Digimon to Digimon... Haru could have also swore she saw a human/Digimon pairing within the crowd (but then again that may have been just a tamer and their partner... she wasn't the type to kinkshame).
For the gogglehead and her partner in question right now? Both relaxing at a bar that was relatively empty due to the recent festivities, though Haru's attention was still somewhat directed towards outside. There was no hiding the fact that the girl was actually quite damn-well alone this holiday, a fact she has gotten used to for the most part. Even back in middle to high school, she never seemed to garner enough positive attention for one soul to direct a valentines to her. It wasn't like she was heartbroken these days, but damn if it didn't kinda get on her nerves just slightly.
Tawna (who was busy drinking beer... as silly of a sight it was to see a small, two foot tall cat on her second bottle) just seemed to glance over at Haru, the feelers around her neck prodding the blue-clothed girl slightly. "Oy. Why are you all moody now? You aren't acting normal... for you at least." they deadpanly spoke with a straight face. It was about as "concerned" the Meicoomon was capable of actually getting.
"Aww it's nuddin." the girl huffed, laying her elbows on the table and resting her face on them.
Just another crappy February. Really was nothing.

”Come on.”
“Why...?”
”You’ve steadily turned into the biggest grouch I’ve ever seen. Entirely warranted, yes, but you still need to loosen up and take time to just... let yourself destress. You’ll go gray very early if you keep this up.”
Alicia huffed softly, staring her second advisor in the eyes. The sad truth was she couldn’t argue with Kisara on that. She’d noticed the changes in herself, how short she was with people at times. She really did need what Kisara was recommended.
“But why to Whitewater’s bar? I’m a lightweight.” The bearer of Steel questioned with a raised brow. She could certainly argue the destination though. The ice maiden before her smiled.
”You ‘were’ a lightweight. I’d be willing to bet your tolerance has gone up quite a bit. ‘Sides, maybe you’ll find a like hearted soul for the holidays. I may be an ancient spirit but even I know about February’s events.” the bright ice maiden returned, her smile growing a bit more as she tilted her head.
Alicia narrowed her eyes in turn. A bar? For a Valentine’s date? That was either the most unlikely thing Kisara had ever said or the most cliche’d thing. Still... “Fine, let me get myself bandaged up then. Sol? Keep her in check while we’re there?”
Kisara deflated a bit as Alicia mentioned the bandages she’d taken to using. She was hoping that if the redhead was relaxing in the Digital World she’d let her guard down a bit more and... not acknowledge the mutation of her arm and leg. But it appeared that had been a pipe dream from the start. It was a distant hope though, she knew Alicia’s woes ran very deep on this subject.
How could both of the spirits not know, given what had happened...? Even if they weren’t present, what they could gather after the fact painted the horrific picture indeed.
Still, Alicia grabbed her D-Scanner and made a swipe with it. She was glad she picked up the Digiport when she did. When she didn’t want to be seen in the Real World, it made such an effective tool. The glimmering portal parted before her and she stepped through, sighting the bar Kisara was pointing her to almost immediately, and made her way inside. It seemed quite busy today, but that was fairly understandable, given what day it was.
“Mmm...?” Though one patron of the bar stood out in particular. A dark haired young woman sitting mostly alone, with little more than an orange cat Digimon to keep her company. Being in an unnatural mental state herself, it was easy to read that something was getting the other young woman down.
”Alicia...?” Sol started softly as he finally appeared at her side, before looking at her. The Steel Spirit Wielder had nothing to say to him though, just clenching her uncovered left hand into a fist. Kisara, in turn, started nudging the redhead forward.
Fortunately, she took the hint without another word, striding forward. Her bandaged right hand rested on an empty bar stool immediately to the younger woman’s left. “Hey...” Alicia began softly. “Is this seat taken, or can I take a seat here?” She might not be able to help herself much... but if her suspicions were right, maybe she could make this day a little less miserable for someone else.

As Haru's mind in mild boredom seemed to drift into empty space, she grew somewhat unaware of her current surroundings. It was mostly due the gogglehead's mind being easily distracted by even the slightest mental roadside attractions that pop into her head. Mainly right just a kind inner dread about life and stuff... kinda typically unusual thoughts for someone like her. Only when she was spoken to by probably the toughest-looking (though certainly not detracting from their own prettiness) red-head she's ever seen did the girl awaken out of her own mental stupor, having been caught off-guard as she flinched awake. "O-Oh! Uh... actually no! It's just me and my cat... whose trying to get drunk." she quickly scrambled to say, having not expected to actually talk to anyone tonight.
"And FAILING." the Meicoomon growled, motioning a poor Butterflymon who had been the unfortunate individual in charge of satisfying the Champion level's alcoholic cravings. They blamed their body's INCREDIBLY high tolerance to poisons of all kinds; which while certainly useful in a fight, it was a hinderance towards getting smashed. The insect Digimon soon enough ended up handing the feline another bottle of cheap booze, they already beginning to chug it down.
Haru seemed to deadpan slightly, letting out a bit of a nervous laugh. "Uh... eheh, don't mind her. She's always a grump." the black-haired girl spoke, kicking her legs slightly while idle. She still seemed to have a lot on her mind, though her attention was at least drawn to the slightly older woman. "... Guess your down on your luck tonight too, huh?" she ended up saying, glancing off to the side slightly a bit awkwardly.

Alicia couldn’t help but chuckle softly as the dark haired lass snapped to attention at her question. “Alright then, don’t mind if I do.” she returned as she took the seat for herself. So the cat who was almost certainly this young lady’s partner was trying to get herself wasted? Maybe Sol would be kind enough to point her in the direction of a brew that could achieve that. Honestly, though, the cat’s woes made her chuckle a bit too. Poor thing must have such a hard time.
“Admittedly, yes.” She answered back to Haru’s question. “Though not exactly because of what day it is. Lets just say my problems leave me on the tipping point where I’m seriously considering giving up on a relationship and what things follow. And are a lot more serious...” Her right hand clenched into a fist at that under the bandaging, which made a very soft, metallic scraping sound that no human hand should ever make under any circumstance.
Though she got the feeling this girl was normally too carefree to really pick up on subtle things like that. Oh well. “The name’s Alicia. Alicia Westfield. Pleasure to meet you.” With that, she shifted and held her right hand out to Haru in offering for a handshake. Sure, normally she would’ve used the left hand for this, but even that cross over would’ve been... awkward at best. It’s not like she could truly hide it forever.

"Oh...! You... I guess you've must have been through some stuff Alicia..." the girl somewhat solemnly noted. You'd have to have been through some serious shit if you had a scar like Alicia it seemed; then there was the bandaged hand... What kind of injury caused that she wondered? They must have been through alot to be hesitant about a relationship it seemed. She couldn't help but feel sympathy towards them though, perhaps since she felt she had also somewhat shot herself in the foot when it came to relationships; at least among people from school back then.
Regardless, Alicia seemed friendly enough, which was a plus in Haru's book! She was honestly thankful to have someone else to talk to this evening... after all, misery loves company! Well... unless the misery involved Tawna. She didn't like anyone for that matter. "Haru, while kitty there is Tawna. Nice to meet ya Alicia! Did you get a burn on that hand? I mean it looks stylish bandaged up like that, but I imagine it's more practicality!" she spoke as she accepted the handshake; a slight bit of eccentricness coming out as she admired their appearence. In a way, Haru couldn't help but get the vibe of "shounen protagonist" from Alicia, which she found genuinely cool. Haru did notice what she said, her mouth having spoke first before she had the time to really think about what she was saying. Fearing the potential of offending them, she swiftly apologized. "Uh... sorry, I get a bit excitable sometimes. Kinda don't always think before I act." she immediately replied, blushing slightly from embarassment.
"Eh... Thinking sometimes just meddles things. When you think, you tend to dwell on things. Then you get mad. Or sad. Or anywhere in-between." Tawna ended up adding in, chugging another mouthful of booze. "I still barely have a grasp of this holiday myself. I see either a lot of happy people, or just a lot of mopey people. Myself not included. I could give a Chuumon's ass about all this."

“That’s an understatement...” Alicia commented with a sigh and a smile. This girl did get the picture at least, as much as she had given away at least. It was interesting how the girl seemed to perk up like this with just some interaction. Was loneliness the main cause of her troubles with the day? It certainly seemed like it. Apparently the Meicoomon didn’t count for this requirement for whatever reason. Being too grumpy certainly seemed reasonable.
“Ah... I wish it was just a burn, Haru. That would at least have a chance of healing inevitably or otherwise being treated...” the redhead answered after the handshake. Still, hearing it looked stylish brought a bigger smile to her expression. “Don’t be, I can understand it. I have my moments of just acting without thinking too. Sometimes.”
”What a ‘bottle-half-empty’ way of looking at it, little kitty!” Kisara suddenly commented as she poked the Meicoomon immediately after appearing seated right next to the cat digimon, giggling. ”And you’re never gonna get smashed at that rate, you need to really shell out. Of course, I don’t know if Haru here can actually afford it. So... sorry, kitty!” The ice maiden giggled to herself, as Sol approached the group at last and took a seat of his own beside Alicia, leaning on the bar and closing his eyes.
Alicia just sweatdropped a bit, wondering how the appearance of the two spectral advisors would effect Haru’s and Tawna’s reactions. This could either be hilarious of disastrous, and she honestly had no idea which way it was leaning. “Don’t mind them too much. The purple haired Queen of Mischief is Kisara. The dragon over here is Sol. They’re some... mentors I have, though honestly I wonder if Kisara actually ‘helps’ with anything...”
”Wha- That’s just cold, Alicia!” Kisara shot back with a huff.
“Say’s the woman who’s literal domain is ice.” Alicia countered with a smirk. The ice maiden had no retort for that and settled for pouting at her.

Haru felt sympathetic to Alicia... perhaps since she realized that her own problems were likely not as stark as this chick's own dilemnas. She at least smiled knowing that her somewhat blunt personality didn't cause offense. "Oh, okay... Well if you ever want someone to, you know... talk to about your problems, I'm here! I think everyone can feel better as a person if they have someone to talk to about their problems." she offered, wanting to at least offer the potential for comfort. Even strangers had their own problems, people just needed to make that brave, first leap to talk to someone.
They were soon no-longer alone though, as two spectral individuals appeared seemingly out of nowhere (even Tawna jumping up from shock as the especially talkative and peppy Kisara began chatting with them). After a brief moment of surprise, Tawna's face soon relaxed and went back to the typical resting bitch face they seemed to always wear. "At least I can HOLD my liquor. I bet it'd just fall right through you... quite literally actually." they snarked, a slight hint of annoyance in their voice... but really only Haru was able to tell.
Haru on the otherhand just kinda let out an awkward laugh, fortunately not terribly bother by Sol & Kisara's sudden arrival. [/b]"Oh don't mind her Kisara... she's always super grumpy." she ended up apologizing to the ice Digimon(?). "So Sol and Kisara are your partners Alicia? I don't think I've ever seen Digimon like them..." she ended up commenting, admittingly assuming the Digimon part.
Tawna on the otherhand just seemed to remain skeptical as they gazed at the pair of spectres, one of her feelers around her neck phasing right through Kisara as it attempted to experimentally poke her. "Doubtful... what kind of Digimon are just incorporeal? Can you even fight?"
"Tawna, please be mindful of personal space." Haru ended up lightly scolding the cat, causing them to silently mock-speak that sentence behind her back. "I'm sorry, Tawna has problems with social skills. Loves to fight! Kind of shit at everything else."
"Guilty." they seemed to add on, not even minding their own personal skills being on the poor side.

“Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.” Alicia answered back with a nod. Maybe she’d be able to talk more about it but... would this poor girl even be able to follow what had happened to her? Maybe, maybe not. She at least had the certainty that Haru would at least try, though... Maybe it would be worth talking about.
Kisara laughed notably at Tawna’s snarking, smirking. ”Oh really? Bartender! Can I get a helping of what the kitty here is having?” Sure, it was bound to make the Meicoomon even more grumpy, but this was such a good opportunity to poke fun at the kitty.
”Please don’t antagonize the potential berserker, Kisara...” Sol commented, opening one eye to look at the ice maiden in question. He was aware that the evolutions of Meicoomon had a disposition towards wild destruction if left unchecked. ”Especially if Tawna’s not such a berserker yet. The less of those we have, the better.” He could only imagine how hard of a time Haru would have keeping the feline under control if that were the case.
“Partners?” Alicia asked, tilting her head. “Oh, no, I’m a different kind of digidestined altogether. These guys just hang around, offer advice, and lend out their strength when I need it, seeing as they’re from a bygone age. See... I actually do my own fighting, by transforming into a Digimon myself. It’s been quite the hectic time for me, to say the least.”
By now Kisara had gotten her own bottle, quirking an eyebrow as Tawna poked a feeler through her form. Still, she did have some substance, shown as she was able to hold the material bottle in her spectral hand. ”Maybe not fight all that well, but we can still pull some tricks of our own if we feel like it.” She snapped her fingers on her free hand, freezing the outside of Tawna’s bottle as a demonstration. Which had the side effect of making the cat’s beer a fair bit colder than before. The the ice maiden leaned back and downed her own bottle all in one go. With not even a single drop falling out. ”Mm, been a long time since I just let go and did that.”
Sol rolled his eyes and sighed. ”Truly... thou art a queen of mischief and mayhem. Chaos follows thy every foot fall.”
Alicia, admittedly, took the moment to give Sol an odd look at the sudden swap to some archaic word choices. Was there a point to that or was he just being weird for the moment?

"Potential... berserker?" Haru ended up asking with a bit of hesistation in her voice, turning an eyebrow at the draconic spirit. She understood that Tawna was a bit aggressive at times, but they weren't unmanageable... yet. Was that something to look out for in the future? "Tawna's not that dangerous, is she?"
Tawna just seemed to grumpily sulk, muttering something unrecognizable under their voice. They seemed to have an understanding of Sol's words, but were not willing to divulge details any further. Their irritated nature only seemed to grow with Kisara's tampering with her drink, reflexively let go of their drink; causing it to spill on the table. They gave the frost spectre a stink-eye. If looks could kill, Kisara would have been extra dead. "Cease." they angrily grumbled, inching their seat a bit away.
Haru just seemed to let a bit of a tired sigh. She was not angry about her partner's behavior, but she did wish they were even just a bit nicer overall. They weren't even really nice to even her, but she hoped that maybe they'll eventually work it out. It was a work-in-progress. "I'll get you another drink..." she softly told the feline, motioning the Butterflymon bartender; they swiftly getting the Champion level feline another drink. She glanced at Alicia, an apologetic look on her face. "I'm sorry Alicia, I hope Tawna isn't being a problem here."
"I'm NOT the problem here." they grumpily added in, going back to sipping their drink as they fumed silently to themselves.
Haru sighed slightly, looking a bit less cheerful now. The little commotion just now almost made her miss everything about Alicia's role as a Digidestiny-whatever. So they actually weren't on the sidelines...? They actually could BECOME a Digimon? If it weren't for the atmosphere feeling a little less happy right now on her end, she'd have begun assaulting the older woman with questions. It DID sound cool, but Haru seemed to lose some of her normally peppy energy just now. "It must be kind of nice to be able to feel like you actually are in-control of things... Sometimes I feel like I'm not really in control of my own fate these days, what with Tawna being the fighter and all."

”Hmm? Oh, no, not at all. She just has the feel of someone who uses wild but powerful attacks and may be a fair bit reckless. And potentially prone to angry outbursts if pestered. I should know. One of my best friends was quite the wild berserker himself...” Sol explained, waving away any concerns about Tawna. ”Hint, Kisara. Stop. Pestering. Her.”
Kisara seemed to not get the memo, pouting and wrapping Tawna up in a big hug. ”Aww, I’m sure there’s a heart of gold down under all the moodiness. Come on, can’t a few pokes for giggles?” The ice maiden’s grip suddenly slacked. This just happened to coincide with the moment Alicia decided to reach over and clock Kisara upside the head with a wrench, sending her sprawling over the bar.
Fortunately, due to being a spirit, nothing was actually damaged and nobody was too terribly inconvenienced, as Kisara went intangible as soon as her focus was broken by the blow. Maybe people were a bit surprised, but nothing was too out of the ordinary.
“No, Tawna is definitely not the problem here...” the redhead quipped. “... Hah... I haven’t felt in control of anything for a while now. The damned fact that I’m a spirit user was actually used against me. Now I wonder if I’m even remotely human anymore, or just some new Digimon species wearing a human skin...”
The tone she had as she suddenly let slip her own gripes and issues was... in a word, bitter. Bitterness at what had happened, bitterness at what she’d become, bitterness at being powerless to stop it... of being powerless to help the people she cared about most in the most dire moments...
”Kid...” The dragon spirit in turn let his tone turn somber and quiet as he addressed Alicia. ”You don’t have to talk about it...”
“... Kisara...” Alicia said simply. The ice maiden nodded and whipped up a heavily alcoholic drink for her, much to the complaints of the bartenders. The redhead shushed them with an overdone reimbursement for what had been used, and took the drink, sipping on it. Kisara then crossed over the bar onto the customer’s side again, and sighed softly.
The bearer of Steel had tears welling up in her eyes, regretting letting her composure slip enough to dwell on things she couldn’t change anymore again.

Haru did seem to relax somewhat (but just somewhat) from Sol's personal explanation. It was almost scary how fitting it actually really seemed to fit the bill for Tawna, a slight cild sweat breaking out on the girl's face. "I mean... she did one point kinda snap a bit and punched a hole through my bedroom wall. A tiny one, but holy crap that kinda scared me. It was kinda when we first met though, so I think we are working that kinda stuff out." she responded, glancing briefly at the anti-social feline. It was a work-in-progress.
Tawna just seemed to tense up as Kisara attacked her with a hug, much in the same manner a regular cat would were they put into an awkward spot as well. They very clearly were not enjoying the matter, but Alicia of all people was the one to snap. Even Tawna seemed to have been caught off-guard, the Meicoomon's fur standing up slightly... from shock more than anything.
The overall mood of the bar had changed, Haru adopting a look of clear worry directed towards Alicia. They were saying some... well, disturbing things, at least to Haru. She didn't know what had happened to the Spirit user, or why they were questioning their own humanity, but it didn't stop Haru's worries. She stayed silent for what felt like hours (when in truth it was mere minutes), gazing at Alicia's depressing shift in tone.
It was only when Haru felt that it was comfortable to speak up did she finally break the silence, she inching her chair a bit closer to Alicia. In Haru's mind, they clearly needed someone right now, and well... mental flashbacks of a girl she had hurt years prior came to mind as she gazed at Alicia. "... Do... Do you want to talk, Alicia?" she ended up asking; a delicate, but genuine sweetness to her worried tone. The girl ended up laying a gloved hand on Alicia shoulder, massaging it slightly.
What could have happened to this poor woman to make her act like this?
Tawna still seemed mildly shocked, but ended up staying back slightly. This touchy-feely stuff was in the end better left to a professional.

”Ah... I can see why my comment distressed you, then. I’m sorry for that.” the dragon spirit mused, nodding to Haru. He had also sighed upon noticing Tawna tense and look like she was about to try clawing Kisara’s eyes out or something. Fortunately that had been avoided by Alicia smacking the ice maiden earlier.
Alicia turned her gaze ever so slightly towards Haru as she mulled the offer over in her head. “If I’m going to talk about it, I should probably show as well...” It would help get the context across to Haru, at least... The redhead pulled her right sleeve up, showing that she had her arm bandaged like that all the way to her shoulder, and then started undoing it. She unraveled the covering down to her elbow, but that was enough to clearly indicate what was up with her.
Her right arm looked impossibly smooth. Nothing out of the ordinary yet, though, right? But that smoothness was accompanied by a very unnatural sheen. The kind of sheen that only existed on well maintained and polished metal. If Haru became interested enough to touch it, she’d find it both paradoxically firm and sturdy yet flexible at the same time. And indeed, the skin would feel like a strong Steel instead of normal flesh. If she looked closely, she might even be able to make out glimmering wires under the skin in place of some of the veins, showing that this mutation went down deeper then her skin.
“Word of advice: Avoid the Dark Area like the plague if at all possible. Nothing good happens there. Unfortunately, I have to hunt down progressively stronger forms, and one of them was located in said Dark Area. I... hadn’t wanted to impose upon any of my friends, so I went alone, thinking that with myself, Sol, and Kisara we’d have enough coverage to avoid an ambush. Suffice to say, an ambush did happen and I was completely unprepared for it.”
Alicia took a moment to breathe and sip her drink again, her right hand tensing into a fist. “The place I woke up in was some kind of lab... and I was the unfortunate test subject. I can’t remember much about my time there, only that almost every moment was agonizing. At the end... I, how to say... I snapped. I activated one of my Digimon forms and broke out. In the process, for a short while I had lost my sanity and just become another wild monster...”
Kisara interrupted her briefly with a hug, looking like she was going to speak up, but a glance over her shoulder from Alicia made her fall silent. She felt she could trust the girl to not freak out and run away screaming.
“... I destroyed everything around me... I nearly killed one of my best friends in the chaos. And even now I can feel it looming in the back of my mind. I have control of it right now, but it’s waiting. Waiting for me to slip up. Waiting for me to lose my cool and fuel my rage. It’d be another disaster all over again...”
That was certainly quite the tale so far, but that didn’t explain the mutated arm. “By the time I finally came back around... I found out part of the experimentation warped my body permanently. There’s an option I could try if I was desperate but... the odds of it actually working the way I want it too are a crapshoot. If it doesn’t work, I lose my right arm and left leg for nothing. The risk is too great to be worthwhile.”
The bearer of Steel took another sip of her drink, hanging her head. “So... yeah... I don’t feel like I have any control over my life right now. And I can be dangerous to be around if something’s getting me angry or stressed out.”

Haru had hoped that her plea towards Alicia would perhaps strike them... and while they did soon open up to her, the gogglehead wasn't sure if maybe she should have tried to prod them.
The gauzed arm... it didn't look injured, but that was when she realized that it was not even made of human flesh. The way it reflected light brought to mind the idea of an android human if Haru had to assign a definition to it, but she realized only now just WHY Alicia was so hesitant about showing it off in the first place. The accompanying tale that was spun made Haru's heart sink, realizing that maybe she had been touching upon a sore spot for the Spirit Wielder. She could now see why they reacted the way they did... It was very clear to Haru that Alicia... they were hurting. Badly.
"I-I... I'm sorry, Alicia..." the girl solemnly apologized, she reaching out for Alicia's right arm; it certainly more dense than a normal human arm. She placed her hand over Alicia's, slipping her fingers within Alicia's as she began to hold it firmly. "I-I didn't mean to push you... If I had known you were hurting this bad... I'm sorry that all of that awful stuff happened to you." she sadly spoke, her face growing heavy as a headache begins to form within her head. "I don't know what I can do to help. I don't know if I CAN help. I do know that I want to help you, Alicia."
Tawna (who had been at the time silent as they heard the tale from Alicia) finally seemed to speak up. Not out of some good-will on her part, but because she saw Haru trying to comfort the Spirit Wielder. She wasn't the type who normally was good at emotional issues like this, but she was able to relate partially to their plight. "You won't be able to control your life or this force with that attitude. The more you push this force back, the more explosively it will lash out when it is freed. Of course, I don't mean to try and unleash it all at once... but fear will only strengthen it. You must dominate this force and make it's power your own, else it will always lurk in your shadow."
Haru wasn't exactly sure if she'd have worded it quite like that, but the intent was partially still the same. "I don't know if I have the right to say this, and more than likely I don't... Alicia, there may be problems that can't be overcome on your own, but there are NO problems that can't be solved together." she spoke, her grip on Alicia's hand tightening slightly. "Your friends must be worried sick about you. Maybe this problem can't be solved by yourself, but I bet that if you can work together with the people that love you, nothing is out of your reach. That's what I believe."

Alicia stayed silent as Haru apologized to her, sighing softly. The girl meant well clearly but... it seems self-esteem was something she was lacking. Hopefully she got over that soon if she was going to stick around in this world. That kind of hesitation could be fatal.
She should know, even without it she’d nearly been killed more times than she’d care to admit. She could only hope Tawna would be fast enough to cover her until she gets the confidence she needs to not second guess herself.
”Alicia’s the kind of person that’ll speak up real quick if she wants to. If you were pushing her, she’d let you know right away. The fact that she’s doing this means she at least trusts your not gonna make the situation worse intentionally.” Kisara noted with a soft sigh.
Unfortunately, Tawna... was not good at word smithing. The redhead’s fist clenched tighter at the blunt truths, but she stamped down her reaction. She meant well, she really did... The bearer of Steel sighed as she calmed herself. “I know all that, Tawna...” she bit out dryly, casting a dark glance at the Meicoomon. Which revealed that one of her green eyes, her right in particular, was currently glowing a dangerous red color. She didn’t particularly enjoy having those ugly facts presented to her again.
Haru thankfully stepped in again, diverting the Spirit Wielder’s attention. The red glow vanished after that and Alicia sighed. “I’ve gotten professional help from doctors and it hasn’t made a difference. I keep in touch with my friends as much as I’m able to as well. I appreciate the thought and offer... but this actually is a problem I’m completely on my own with. I can’t really heal until... something, I don’t know what.”
”That’s not to say emotional support doesn’t help, though.” Sol cut in quickly, wanting to shed some positive light on the situation.

Haru now feared that she and Tawna's words of encouragement (well, Tawna's version of words of encouragement) only made things worse. Even if Kisara tried to at least assure them of things, Haru was starting to doubt that she was not helping now. Still, she tried to back up Alicia (not noticing the ominous glare she gave Tawna just now). "There has to be a way though... There HAS to be a way." Haru quietly spoke, her nerves calming down slightly from Sol's own words. "I wish there was something I could do... I really wish, but I get it."
Tawna just seemed to stare at Alicia. While not alarmed, she did note that the way their eye glowed ominously was... not human. She remained quiet as she turned away from them, taking another sip of her beer. THIS was why she didn't like talking. Ever.
Haru just seemed to sigh, she backing off slightly... if simply because she was just unsure now what to do. She felt helpless with Alicia, which perhaps may have been strange, but in a way Alicia's pain was her pain too. Seeing someone like her hurting inside just tugged at her heartstrings. "... I'm sorry if I'm just making tonight really crappy though, even if unintentional. Something bout Valentine's Day I feel either brings the best out of people, or the worst."
