But That's Forbidden Love (Haru/Alicia - Valentine's Event)
|
Post by Alicia Westfield on Mar 16, 2018 22:12:41 GMT
Alicia restrained her grimace as much as she could, seeing the duo react as one would expect for someone who just had a fairly negative reaction to supportive efforts. “There is a way... I just need to figure it out for myself.” She muttered just loud enough to be heard. It was one of the few times she’d lied to herself.
She knew what she could do, what she probably needed to do in the end... She was just terrified of the consequences if she failed. Given what had happened the one time she lost control, though, could anyone blame her for fearing losing it again? What if she really did kill one of her closest friends the next time? What if she wasn’t able to avert that tragedy at the last second? She wouldn’t be able to live with herself.
Still... Haru didn’t deserve this kind of cold shoulder to her efforts. “Don’t apologize for something that’s not your fault.” The redhead quipped to the tamer. “Valentine’s Day or any other day, it doesn’t change what my problems are.”
... And let it never be said that Alicia did anything in half measures. She reached a hand out, grabbed Haru by the shoulder, and pulled the younger woman back to her to hug her. “So thank you... I do appreciate the support.”

Haru was not the smartest tack in the shed, but even she could tell that Alicia's words did not sound confident. As someone who lacked self-confidence herself, she could tell that they were not exactly being truthful to themselves. "I'm sure you'll be able to Alicia. Maybe you don't think you can, but I have faith in you." she sweetly smiled, ending up returning Alicia's own hug... a tender moment for two people who have only met eachother within the last hour or so. "... I know maybe I'm just kind of a stranger, but I hope that well... I can help you stand against your problems, at least a bit easier."
The girl's cheeks ended up blushing slightly, a hint of embarassment flowing through her. She was being a massive dork right now, she at the same time felt so much better seeing Alicia's mood at least somewhat improved. The belief that maybe... JUST maybe, she helped at least make Alicia's day a little less miserable, it brought some hope to her at the very least.
Tawna seemed to stay quiet, she giving some space for the two girls. She wasn't good at this touchy-feely stuff... though at the same time, Haru seemed happier. Frankly that was enough for her to at least be satisfied with the situation itself.
Haru seemed to be fairly quiet still, though she seemed... content at the very least.

The bearer of Steel sighed softly from the younger girl’s assurances. “Ha... look at me, I was just hoping to help someone who looked so lonely have a decent day and now all this has happened... Thanks, Haru...” She probably needed that kind of support in the long run, at least until she could get this under control again.
”Hehe, everyone needs a light in their life. Mayhaps you found yours at last, Alicia?” Kisara suddenly quipped, smirking. The redhead looked over and quirked an eyebrow at the ice maiden, who then decided to poke further. ”I mean, the two of you look adorable together, and she’s even blushing, if you haven’t noticed.”
“H-Hey! Cut that out Kisara!” Alicia suddenly snapped, a bit of red coloring her own cheeks. “Why do you have to tease about every little thing!?” This was starting to get on her nerves, as there were multiple occasions in which Kisara needled things to a point where it felt like metapohrically dumping gasoline on a fire was a hobby of hers.
”It gets your mind off your problems... and lets you actually smile again right now. I know you have a good laugh to yourself when you think no one’s around to notice at our banter. And with how you’ve been lately, I will do anything if it means you smile again even for a few seconds. I may do things in my own mischievous way, but I do only have the best of intentions...” Kisara shot back calmly.
The Spirit Wielder blinked slowly, taken aback by Kisara’s admission and explanation. The fact that the ice maiden had dropped her usual mischievous smirk and light hearted tone was the real kicker on it. A prankster and joker she may be, but she knew how and usually when to be serious if the time truly calls for it. “Oh...”
”Still, I suppose we should follow Tawna’s example. Leave the two of them be for now and just see what happens, if anything.” Sol mused with a quirked eyebrow, glancing at Kisara. ”What do you say?”
”Mmm... maybe...”

The tamer smiled warmly at Alicia's own comments, a warmth in heart hearing at least some positivity again. What ever warm, fuzzy feelings she had though were rudely interrupted when the ice queen (in the literal sense, not in personality) began to tease the pair of them; Haru's jolting in shock. "W-wait! I wasn't blushing!" the gogglehead exclaimed, her face very much contradicting that statement. Yes, she very much was blushing. She didn't like it, but she was.
At the same time however, Kisara's small talk with Alicia made Haru seem to calm down. Jokes aside, it occurred to her that maybe what the ice spirit was saying wasn't even really that far-fetched? Admittingly, Alicia didn't seem to say "no" to it... so maybe it was worth a shot? It was Valentine's Day after all, so maybe it wouldn't hurt to be a bit adventurous? It was like they said, maybe it'd help take their mind off things for a bit.
Tawna just seemed to stay silent, unable to quite comprehend the matter here (again, social stuff like this was not her strong-point). Still, she had the slight feeling that offering the two humans some room might be what's best for now as well (going off the spirits' own opinions). The Meicoomon jumped off her stool, stretching her body slightly as she glanced at Haru. "I'm going outside. Not going to be far." they deadpanly spoke before waddling off, occasionally sneaking peeks back as she walked out of the bar.
Haru seemed to glance at the Champion level as they made their way out of the building, glancing back at Alicia with a mildly-nervous face. This... was definitely a weird thing to do, at least for her. "Well... maybe it could be fun? I mean, you never know I guess these days." she ended up awkwardly chuckling as she took off her helmet, allowing her long-black hair to drop down. "I dunno, I guess just... this is a lil' weird for me to ask. Do ya wanna... try and do a small lil' date tonight?" she asked, her cheeks becoming rosy again. "I-I mean, it doesn't have to lead to anything! It can be just for fun! It'd also mean we won't be single tonight! That's probably a plus, right?"

Alicia sighed softly as the poor tamer in her grasp squeaked in her embarrassment from Kisara’s teasing. The ice maiden really knew how to ruffle people... Of course, the redhead had expected that to be the end of the matter. Kisara pokes a little fun, everyone snaps at her, done and done. Tawna jumping down to leave the two of them alone was a bit of a surprise though. And then Kisara winked and dispersed as well.
A glance over her shoulder confirmed that Sol had followed suit shortly after, leaving her and Haru alone. And then Haru surprised her the most by actually broaching the topic more seriously. Alicia blinked a bit in shock and tilted her head, quiet for a moment. And frankly the younger woman’s nervousness really was adorable.
“Well...” she began, trailing to get a moment to gather her thoughts. “I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to seeing where this little get together could go...” She smiled at the dark-haired tamer, giggling softly. “So... yes, lets do that.” Alicia allowed herself a small smirk after she accepted. Maybe the poor tamer would be rethinking her choices now that this was going on. Not that she had much chance to back out now. She was already in Alicia’s grasp after all, and the red head took the moment to shift a bit and take hold of one of Haru’s.
“Any idea where we could go? Or had you not quite gotten that far in the plan yet?” The questions were asked with a light tone. Seeing how out of nowhere this whole thing was, Haru had probably spoken before she really thought everything through. Eh, it’s not like this is a bad place to have such a date.

Haru's face was still a bit flustered as she gazed at Alicia, twiddling her thumbs briefly. They actually said yes! They ACTUALLY said yes! Frankly, she found it hard to believe... but they actually were open to the idea! She frankly was shocked, not having expected for them to say yes. "R-Really? You actually mean that?" she spoke, wide-eyed in disbelief. Perhaps unexpected, but Haru was absolutely open to all of this. She flinched slightly as the spirit wielder took one of the gogglehead's hands, Haru feeling a shiver down her spine as she gave a goofy, meek smile.
"Well... yeah. Not really much the type to plan ahead actually." she somewhat in embarassment responded. She was always a "cut first, measure later" kinda gal, so couldn't blame herself there. She inched her stool up a bit closer to Alicia, smiling gently at her. "Y-yeah! How about we do that then! I mean... romantic outlooks are kinda overrated don't ya think? Though I guess there's not much to do here... except get wasted I guess." she ended up commenting, a mildly embarassed look on the japanese girl's face.
"I kinda can't drink. 17, so ya know..." she awkwardly commented, her voice dropping a bit. She may have a bit of the wild and reckless type, but she wasn't willing to try and break any drinking laws... even in another world like this.

Alicia chuckled softly and smirked. “Of course I am. I said ‘yes’ didn’t I?” She hummed as she noticed the girl shiver from having her hand held. That was actually kind of adorable, seeing her be suddenly so shy. “Nothing wrong with that. You didn’t exactly have much time to plan either. The whole thing is spur of the moment.”
“I don’t think so, besides, if you haven’t noticed, this place is beach-side. Pretty nice location all things considered.” She should know, she was here with Karin once, though that was entirely business. “I don’t usually drink this much actually... used to be a light weight but... I guess my tolerance was increased after what happened.”
The bearer of Steel finished her drink at that and stood up, still holding on to Haru’s hand gently. “I can respect that. Though with how the Digital World works it’s often impossible to tell how old you actually are if you jump between the two a lot.”
That was a thing, wasn’t it? The Digital World moved much faster than the Real World. “And I find age is just a number anyways. As long as you know what your getting into and can handle it responsibly...” She trailed off and shrugged at that. Karin was younger then Haru, or at least appeared to be, and regularly engaged in such shenanigans...
“Well, regardless, the whole world is open to us. Digiports are amazing like that. Still, lets take this out on the deck, shall we?”

Haru managed to let out a slight laugh, she awkwardly rubbing the back of her as she smiled at Alicia. Guess rules like drinking weren't really as big a deal here... provided she didn't get smashed. "Maybe I'll pass for now. I'll just I guess have Tawna help me out with that next time we go somewhere with booze... I seriously question how someone as small as her can drink so much without being the least bit drunk." she commented, wondering just how Alicia's condition could affect their tolerance. How much of their body was really affected down there?
Regardless, it was true that Whitewater was a pretty good place to be at! "Do you think the beach is crowded maybe...? It's kinda dark out, so maybe not?" she ended up asking curiously. Oddly enough, she's not really tried actually swimming here in the Digital World... but then again she didn't really have any clothes on-hand. "I mean... it'd be a nice place at least to relax at. Maybe we could see the stars there?"
Nonetheless, Haru seemed content with that idea! She lightly grabbed onto Alicia's hand as she stood up, smiling a bit shyly. "Mmhmm!" she spoke as she soon began to walk with Alicia.

Alicia chuckled softly in turn, smiling. “She’s a Digimon. I bet most if not all of them have a really high tolerance” If she’d seen how much the tabby had put away at other times, though, maybe she would question it too. For herself... she wasn’t exactly sure how the mutated limbs had effected her tolerance so much. It promised... distressing things about her condition. Things she didn’t want to think about.
“Shouldn’t be too crowded with what time it is. Besides, cliche as it may be, a moonlit walk along the beach is quite romantic as it is.” The bearer of Steel looked over to Haru and winked with a chuckle as she brought them to the beachside. Sure enough, it was fairly deserted at the moment. She really could still take a moment to just... pretend nothing’s wrong. Be somewhat normal for a bit. Sure the location was anything but normal, but that could be ignored.
“Wonder if we’ll see a shooting star in this Digital sky...” Alicia softly mused aloud, then shrugged to herself. Then she shot another glance at Haru. “Think the water is warm enough to take a dip?” It appears they had similar thought processes, seeing as she brought up what Haru considered.
“It’ll literally take us just a couple seconds to get home and back for both of us after all. Digiports are an amazing thing.”

It looks like she and Alicia lucked out with the beach, it being surprisingly empty. Haru could smell the ocean brine as the sounds of the waves calmly breaking onto the shoreline. In a way, it was a very peaceful change from many parts of the Digital World... even human world really! "If a shooting star did come... what would you wish for Alicia?" the girl ended up asking quizzically, holding Alicia's hand a bit tighter as they drew nearer. "I dunno, Whitewater's like really warm and tropical. Even at night, I bet the water would feel lovely..."
Learning that they could briefly drop by the human world to get a change of clothes actually caught Haru off-guard. "Can we really...? I guess I could swing by my apartment and get some clothes together really quick..." she ended up commenting before hearing something behind the two of the, she whipping her head around to see a mildly-miffed Tawna.
"Are you just going to be ditching me?" the Meicoomon ended up asking, a bit of aggression towards the girl as they crossed their arms.
"Wh-what?! I-I thought you were out... doing stuff." Haru ended up exclaiming, a bit surprised to find the cat here now.
"Yeah, but I'd prefer to not be just ditched while you two go back to the human world. A few minutes there is like an hour here you know." they somewhat snidely commented, walking up to the girl's side while glancing at Alicia.
"Oh yeah... Uh, sorry. I didn't think about that." the girl apologized, she picking up the Meicoomon before turning to Alicia. "So... do you care if we can drop by Shibuya then? I live around Shibuya River... yeah, it's not the best play to live around, but it was cheap."

“Hmm... I... I’m not sure what exactly...” Alicia muttered softly in response. Of course, there was the obvious wish of wanting to be a normal human again. but that was if she was willing to believe wishes on shooting stars actually did much of anything. Of course, Haru echoed what she was thinking now, that the water would be nice and warm. “Well that settles it then.”
Unsurprisingly, though, there was a tabby that was more than a little concerned about being left behind. Alicia chuckled softly and turned to face the Meicoomon. “Actually, since I can hold the Digiport open for multiple people, it kind of... temporarily syncs the flow of time up for both worlds? Something like that. I’ve used it before and haven’t seen the Digital World going seven times faster or the Real World going seven times slower. Here, I’ll prove it. Be right back.”
It would also prove to Haru just how precise the version of the Digiport she had could be. Alicia turned and made a quick swipe in the air which split open the signature Digiport. Which opened right into her quaint and sparsely decorated house. She waved a bit to Haru, and walked through, disappearing from easy sight as she went to her room.
There was just one thing she forgot about, last time she’d done this, she didn’t have mutated limbs... What should she do? The Spirit Wielder clenched one hand into a fist as she tried to decide what she’d do. Could she face what’s happened? Ever since that day she’d almost constantly kept the limbs covered up entirely, afraid to face the facts.
”The bandages are water-proofed as much as possible, you know...” Kisara commented softly to her as she appeared again, however briefly. The ice maiden looked concerned as she bit her lip, hugging Alicia loosely from behind.
“... I... I can’t keep running...” The redhead reached up to the bandage on her right shoulder, pausing to look at Kisara over her shoulder. The glance she got back was both hopeful and understanding. She sighed softly... and completely undid the bandage, setting it on the bathroom counter. And then the one running along her left leg was also taken off and set aside. Now all she had one was her red two piece bikini and the wrapped sarong with blue flames from the last time she paid a visit to an open air bar in Whitewater.
With a deep breath to steady her nerves, she went back out to rejoin Haru, closing the port behind her. It also revealed to the Tamer just how much of her form was warped. The right arm all the way up into the shoulder, she’d already known from earlier. But now she’d also see that Alicia’s left leg was similarly converted entire, from the toe up and reaching slightly into her hip. The metallic flesh gleamed almost eerily in the moonlight, in part because of it being part of a human.
“Right then.” Alicia mused softly, stepping beside Haru and holding her D-Scanner out. “You said near the Shibuya River, right? If you’re willing to narrow things down more I can get it closer to your place, and it’ll take less time to actually get changed and come back.”
She’d give the tamer some time to decide, and then she’d open the portal as close as she could, depending on how much Haru was willing to divulge regarding the exact location she lived at. She certainly wasn’t going to force the poor girl to answer, that was sensitive information!

Haru could tell mildly what the red-head probably would wish for if she had the chance to do. The intensity of the look on the Spirit Wielder's face very well suggested that what they wanted was not some mere fancy or flight.
Fortunate that Alicia was able to reassure both Tawna and her about the ease of time flow utilizing the Digi-Port functionality. It was hardly a minute or two when the young woman herself stepped right back out... garbed appropriately for the occasion.
Haru was... Haru was the type of person whom was still rather confused about their overall sexuality. Boys could be cute, but so could girls! Needless to say, Alicia had place themself around the end of the "cuteness spectrum" for gogglehead, even she being one to silently admit that were smokin' attractive. A pink flush formed slightly on the girl's face.
"... Your really pretty-looking Alicia-kun." she managed to mumble out, clearly a bit frazzled. It was weird to really describe, but despite Alicia's inhumanity more evident than before, it did not detract from their appearance. Frankly, Haru accepted the condition's presence without any doubt in her heart.
The girl quickly snapped back to reality as she realized she had to pinpoint her home for Alicia. Quickly dropping some coordinates for the girl, she soon enough went through the gate, Tawna staying behind.
"... She seems mildly infatuated with your looks." Tawna deadpanly spoke to Alicia, eyeing the full extent of their transformation, somewhat marveled by how much it's progressed. She wasn't a wizard at deciphering human emotion, but Haru wasn't exactly a difficult read. There was a hint of genuine curiosity in the feline's voice, her ears twitching slightly. "I am curious about this, but did not wish to bring it up in front of Haru. Do you think Haru... does not mind your condition? Would she be acting the same if it grew more pronounced?" the Meicoomon asked, nodding her head slightly. "I apologize for dropping somewhat hard questions like this, but the more I understand about Haru's happiness, the more comfortable she was about it."
Haru seemed to be taking a bit longer than Alicia, so there seemed to be time to talk at least.

“Ah, thank you, Haru.” Alicia began, before pausing at the last bit of word choice. “... -Kun?” she asked quietly to herself, quirking an eyebrow at the very slight blush blooming on the tamer’s cheeks. Was Haru somehow confused about something or...? She wasn’t exactly the end all be all authority on Japanese honorifics, being from America and all, but that particular one is usually attached to a boy’s name or to one younger than the speaker. There was one other context for it, but that implied...
Well, enough musing, Haru had gone off to get herself changed as well once Alicia opened the portal for her. And then Tawna addressed the elephant in the area with what Alicia was quickly realizing was Tawna-brand snark. Fitting that she’d wait for her tamer to go alone before speaking up.
“Mildly... right...” Alicia quipped back in acknowledgement of the feline’s deadpan. They both knew that such a drastic reaction meant that ‘mildly infatuated’ was, well, putting it mildly. “It seems to be the case, Tawna... Some humans are compassionate enough to overlook even the most drastic things, and it appears blatantly obvious that Haru is one such person...” She personally found the ability to overlook such drastic mutation a bit unbelievable herself but... if that’s how it was going...
“As for if it progressed further? I can’t say for sure. Maybe she’d continue this way. Maybe it would make her worry for my health. There’s even the slight chance that she might start to recoil in horror all of a sudden. Or the opposite but equally unlikely result could happen, that she might become fascinated with it. There’s... no way to guarantee what kind of reaction there will be. We are, as a species, strange like that.” The second question was a fair bit harder unfortunately, because it required deep understanding of the person that Alicia just didn’t have in order to answer with any kind of certainty.
“It’s comforting to know, though. That there’s another person in this life that won’t see a freak of nature when they look at me...”

Tawna solemnly nodded towards the metallic Spirit Wielder, they having noticed partially Haru's infatuation towards them. "Haru is a very unique human... no, person. She is a very unique person." the feline briefly spoke, wrapping her feelers around herself ala a scarf. "Truth be told, I don't think there is anything your appearance could do to dissuade her now... She carries this sort of unconditional love towards life that seems to extend beyond the skin one wears. She's very open-minded beyond her eccentricness..." she mused, kicking a slight bit of sand idly. "I can somewhat predict what other people do... but Haru? That girl is more unpredictable than a maelstrom."
Sure enough, the girl in question soon daintily stepped out of the portal with her bag filled with a few minor supplies... The Japanese girl had since removed her aviator helmet, allowing her long, black air to run freely down her shoulders. Wearing a white swimdress with decorative blue stripes, Haru's attire was considerably modest and showed off her thin, upper figure. Appropriately, the girl had a bit of a meek face.
"How do I look?" she hesitantly asked Alicia, briefly flitting her dress around idly. Yeah... she was kinda scared to death right now. Nothing in the Digital World so far has even came close to matching her anxiety at the moment.

“... She’s much better than most people in that regard...” Alicia fired back with a smile. “So many times the majority of humanity is bogged down by petty grievances and imagined slights that they become quite judgmental over many things. Its fortunate that we come across one another when I’m... in such a state...” She could only imagine the average reaction to he state of her arm and leg. “Unpredictability can be a good thing sometimes.”
Haru took that moment to return, and the redhead smiled to her. Alicia took the moment to take a few long strides and close the distance between them to get a closer look. “Quite adorable, Haru. Very nice.” She commented and nodded. “Well... lets see if I’ll actually be able to swim or if I’ll just be hanging out close to the waves.”
Ah, yes, that was something she’d forgotten about in her desire to do something normal... Stepping toward a wave, the bearer of Steel bit her lip and stretched her left leg out to let the water brush ever so slightly against her mechanized foot. Well... there was no immediate electrocution or anything of the sort... and the water didn’t feel any different on her leg. Another step let her foot sink in further. Still no immediately apparent problems...
Alicia smiled softly and turned to Haru, waving for the younger girl to come join her.
