The dark catacombs of Old Terminus are for many the point from which it was time to turn back. This underbelly of Terminus City was often considered by the city's inhabitants as a hive for those whom are not comfortable showing their faces to the more strictly-regulated area up top; it filled with all forms of seedy individuals and practices that are left unnoticed normally. While a relic filled with many mysteries, it was also regarded as a highly-dangerous place... ESPECIALLY at night.
Haru though wasn't exactly the type whom was normally frightened of her own safety, or the type to be discouraged once she had her sights set out on something. Locals had warned her that going down there at night was a disaster waiting to happen, though the gogglehead only just threw those comments away as mere pessimistic speculation.
Periodically shaking a flashlight a couple of times to recharge it, the girl's only forms of illumination was the small device and the dim-flickering lamp posts of a street in the underground ruins. Close beside her was a Meicrackmon Vicious Mode, they seemingly less bothered by the intense darkness. The girl often changed the direction she was flashing the torch, observing her surroundings with utmost interest and curiosity. Old Terminus was like just that... a Terminus City, but long since abandoned. It felt as if she were walking into a whole other side of the normally-cheery city; a layer that few if any seemed happy to talk about.
"Everything's so dark... You could probably walk down here for miles and only see a tiny fraction of what there is too see. I wonder why this is even here?" Haru ended up softly asking her partner, needing to squint to even see anything beyond her flashlight's cone of light.
Tawna had less difficulty seeing into the darkness, though even her razor-sharp vision isn't enough to see anything too far away. "The story of this place is perhaps better left unanswered. The more we ask questions like these, the more we grow mad seeking answers that may never show themselves." the feline responded. She was truthfully not as interested in the lore of this place. Sentimentality was not her style. Still, this place reeked of dark omens and dread... It was probably only marginally more cheery at day.

Tap, tap, tap. The repetitive sound of plastic tapping against plastic resonated along the barren and dilapidated streets of the ruined city, barely drowned out by the heavy fleshy steps that accompanied said tapping. The few smaller, weaker creatures that stalked the ruined buildings were quick to skitter away into the shadows as soon as they hear him approaching, fearful. They knew better than to cross paths with the one making that sound. Tap, tap, tap. The tall, lumbering creature slowly made his way down the street, the collar hanging from his thick neck being the source of all that tapping. Hanging from said collar were about 16 or 17 digivices, most of them cracked or broken, all of them turned off. Needless to say, none of them belonged to the creature…at least not originally, all of them having been torn away from their previous owners’ cold, dead hands. Why would a tamerless creature like as himself care for such things? After all, without a human and partner those things were useless, empty husks of plastic, nothing but a remainder of a now long dead bond, of two lives that had been mercilessly cut short. Perhaps the creature wished to feel the same warm light that his previous victims usually manifested in a futile attempt at stopping him. Maybe he liked the sound the plastic made when crushed apart or broken. Or perhaps he was simply keeping count. Whatever the reason, only the creature himself knew it. After walking for a good while, he stopped. He had heard something. No… someone. Slowly approaching the noise while hiding his large body behind a large wall, he saw two figures. One was a tall, furry humanoid, a digimon. An ultimate level by the looks of it. Something that, while interesting to see down here, did not caught his attention as much as the other figure by the mon’s side. Human. Small. Fragile. Possibly female. That last part was usually easier to determine later, the pitch of their screams was usually a good indicator. Not that it mattered, they were all the same to him. Just another lone human foolish enough to enter his domain in the dead of night. Just another digivice to add to his collection. The creature carefully slinked back to the shadows, moving surprisingly silently for something of his size. After all, he had plenty of practice. He had played this game before. 19 nine times to be exact, and he was itching to make that a round number. Tap, tap, tap. With a quick movement, a slight twitch of his whole body, the creature twisted forward, six needles the size of a pen shooting out from his arching back towards his target. Were she to not notice, the human would find herself stabbed in the back by said needles that, while painful, would not be enough cause significant damage to even a human…although if anyone got hit by that, that would be the last of their worries. As the poisoned projectiles made their way torwards their target, the creature couldn’t help but feel delighted, and would have smiled had he been physically capable of doing so. This was going to be a fun night.
OCC: Blurp! I have arrived to wreck some stuff. Combat Log: Arkadimon stays behind cover and shots aiming to hit Haru with Wing Clipper Fires off some sharp needles from his back, aiming for the enemy's vital points. If succesful causes medium damage and applies a poison that slows the opponent's movement by 30%. Slow lasts for two posts, two post cooldown.

It wasn't as if she could have expected it. Haru... she didn't have the sense of a Digimon like she was. Tawna was used to the dangers of the Digital World, and well... perhaps her own blade has gotten dull. She used to be so diligent and aware of her surroundings, but this sedentary life she's lived with Haru has taken away some of that edge.
The only warning she had was the sound of flesh contorting in a manner that was not natural and something whizzing through the air RIGHT at them. The Meicrackmon Vicious Mode didn't know she was not the intended target... but she acted as if both she and Haru were. Without even a chance to warn the girl, Tawna did the only thing that made sense to her at the time... grab onto Haru's body with both of her tendrils, and PULL the girl away (causing Haru to drop her flashlight, the device landing on the ground aimlessly).
Tawna's efforts weren't pointless. Because of the Ultimate level's quick thinking in tugging her partner away, four of the six needles managed to not pierce directly at the girl's backside. Of course however, that left two unaccounted for. One managed to stab into the girl's back, another into her side as she was tugged away. Needless to say, the pain was excruciating for Haru. Blood immediately stained her bright blue dress, the girl failing to even be able to scream as pain shot through her. All she could manage was a weak wheeze gasping for a breath.
Tawna could smell blood. Blood was drawn. Haru's blood. It was one thing to make an attack on her... but whatever this THING that had just ambushed them had just instilled a foul rage like no other the Demon Beast Digimon has felt. She growled as she bore her teeth at the direction the attack came from, Haru dangling weakly still from her tendrils before being firmly close by Tawna's arms.
As much as she wanted to rend the foul creature that dared attack them... they attacked Haru. The girl... she was not safe here. The Meicrackmon Vicious Mode's eyes dilated in a rage, the Mini-Meis by her side hissing nastily. Before making an impromptu dash away from this attacker of theirs, Tawna pointed the direction the beast came from.
"Go. Pestilence Raid." she commanded, as suddenly the Mini-Meis began dividingly rapidly, increasing in numbers as the swarm of creatures soon flew towards where the fiend lurked... the Mini-Meis simultaneously detonating into a foul broth of noxious violet gas expanded into a wide area.
Haru was hit partially by Wing Clipper and is suffering the slow.
Tawna has used Pestilence Raid.
Pestilence Raid - [RAM UPGRADE] - An alternative-version of Felt Made; instead of arming for explosive damage, the Mini-Meis are armed to explode into a cloud of toxic data that covers about a five meter radius, poisoning foes in the blast zone for 3 turns. The toxic data is intelligent enough to avoid purposefully seeping into allies, though it CAN poison Meicrackmon. Deals no direct damage. (Cooldown: 2 Posts)

With another loud, disgusting snap the creature’s back returned to its original position. A small shiver, a momentary twitch coursed through the creature’s body as the familiar sound of bone stabbing into flesh was heard, the faint but still noticeable sound of blood dripping accompanying it. He didn’t even need to look to know he had reached his intended target, he knew all too well the difference between hitting a human and hitting a digimon. He also knew that both felt… nice. Even if not all the needles had reached the human, the poison’s effect would be all the same, just a bit slower…and possibly slightly more painful for them. But that wasn’t important now. He had done the first move, now he had to wait for the response, regardless of how much he wanted to jump into action. He was always following a similar pattern. First he acted, tested the waters a bit, gauged their reactions. Then he responded accordingly. First he acted, then they reacted. It worked before, why wouldn’t it work now? Another sound soon followed, as the Meicrackmon Vicious Mode let out a roar. Rage. Grief. Sadness. Indeed, this was also a familiar sound to him. Most, if not all of the digimon accompanying humans reacted similarly upon their partners being harmed. Soon one of three reactions followed. Either the partner would charge forward in defense of the human, or attempt to escape while getting their partner out of danger. The final one was the rarest, having happened only four times: the unscathed partner, instead of even attempting to make a run for it upon seeing the human paralyzed simply…stood there. Close to their dying partner, never leaving their side, distressed noises and sobs escaping them as they refused to leave the doomed creatures side. Some not even tried to fight back, too concerned tending to the fallen human to even bother fighting back, perhaps understanding how pointless it was. Oddly enough, the few times that had happened, it had only been with rookie levels. Regardless of how trivial this made the ensuing “fight” (though “cold blooded murder” would be more appropriate), the Old Terminus killer loathed when this happened. If they weren’t going to make it fun for him, they might as well not even be alive in their first place…luckily, it seemed the tall feline did not succumb to despair, instead gently carrying the afflicted human between her tendrils, and swiftly dashed away from his direction, the small spherical creatures that floated around her quickly dashing towards him. It seemed the digimon was either choosing to put the human in a safe place first, or make a run for it, using those flying creatures for cover. While the Arkadimon didn’t know what to expect from such small wasn’t going to wait around to find out. Taking advantage of the adrenaline surge, that thrill of the hunt, he quickly darted out of his dark cover, trying to close in the distance towards his next would be victim, all while his collar loudly jangled as the broken digivices bounced up and down…just as the Mini-Meis detonated into a toxic cloud. While the creature had almost left the detonated area, he made the mistake of inhaling just a bit of the now poisoned air, an odd, unfamiliar feeling now seeping within him. It…burned, hurt. It had been too long since he felt something like this. Yet the creature’s joy only grew. This was now looking promising. Doing it’s best to ignore the burning surging within him, he continued charging towards the feline, raising his arm forward as he opened his palm in the Meicrackmon’s direction. As good of a tactic as she had done, she had now made a tactical mistake: being this close to her human only made them both a bigger target. In what couldn’t be more than a few seconds, the monstrous arm seemed to turn completely black for a moment, the open palm glowing an ominous darkened light. A moment later, the energy accumulated on the palm was released, surging towards the two targets in the form of a thick, blazing hot beam of dark energy.

Haru STILL barely had any idea just exactly was going on right now as she was dragged along by Tawna, her breathing being way too fast-paced for her to catch a break. It wasn't like she even could think right now, what with the searing pain she was feeling right now. "Wh-what... what's goi-" she managed to mutter as she attempted to try and pry one of the needles still in her, but the pain was too much to do so.
"Not NOW." Tawna growled, partially from frustration... having managed to catch a glimpse of their attack from the last moments of the previous swarm of Mini-Meis, a new trio spawning off of her tendrils. It wasn't too big a glimpse, but it was enough for her to notice the strange necklace it had.
This thing wasn't some mindless monster... it was a predator, and Haru was prey.
For the first time in Tawna's life, her Digicore was racing from fear. It wasn't however fear regarding her own safety... no, she was fearful of Haru's safety. She'd DIE before she'd allow Haru to die to this beast, but unfortunately for her... this Arkadimon was perfectly willing to skip her entirely it seemed. She absolutely could NOT allow that to happen. She visibly winced glancing at Haru's wounds, realizing the girl needed medical attention quick. It was only now did Tawna realize the fragility of human life being with Haru, and that fragility was being compromised.
Go figure the insectoid bastard wasn't done with them yet... She just BARELY had time to dash to the side as the destructive beam launched by the Arkadimon missed her (and Haru) by a few feet... completely annihilating a nearby building's top. As debris rained down on them, Tawna did the one thing she could think of... briefly let Haru go as she faced one particularly large chunk of building about to crush them.
A mere second later, the entire stone was cleaved into useless rubble before it could even hit the ground. A pebble hit the gogglehead on the head as she moaned in pain, her side aching heavily... though fortunately the needles seemed to finally dissipate (though her dress was still completely bloodied now). She managed to sit up, her vision a little shakey as she attempted to stabilize herself through sheer will. "... What... What is going on?" she managed to weakly mutter, managing to catch a glimpse of something big and sinister a little away.
Tawna managed bared her teeth, stress building up from far too many close calls in a short period of time. "... He wants us both dead." she stammered, glaring at the creature off in the distance.
She was at an impasse right now... while she excelled as a physical fighter, she couldn't risk leaving Haru alone like this... Who knows what that beast will do if given the chance? As an Ultimate level, she could take a beating... but Haru?
No... she couldn't rush in blindly. She had to play this safe, for Haru's sake. If she was going to leave the girl, she had to do so with a plan. She glanced at Haru, a determined look on the Virus Digimon's face. "Stay here." she muttered... before soon dashing towards the Bewitching Beast, somersaulting at them.
"Berserk Sinking!" she yelled out as her chrome Digizoid claws glew an ominous red-hue, aiming to slice directly into her foe's flesh... or what qualified as flesh. Armor, metal, carapace... it didn't concern her, she was going to tear it to little bits.

A small trail of acrid dark smoke escaped the Arkadimon’s arms as soon as he shot out his deadly beam, his blackened arms slowly turning back to his normal color as it did so. Despite the bright ominous glow from the beam, he could catch a glimpse of the Meicrackmon dodging to the side, narrowly avoiding his attack before said beam impacted against the top of a nearby building, utterly demolishing it while filling the area with dust from the rubble. Unfortunately, when the smoke cleared the creature noticed that the duo were not only unscathed from the beam, the rubble had also failed to cause any significant damage. The creature didn’t mind too much about that though, he didn’t want a repeat of his 14th one. Said victim had somehow managed to get his foot stuck under a giant boulder caused from the creature’s struggle against his partner. Other than that and the rather pathetic attempts at negotiation, that one had been largely unremarkable. So far however, these two were proving themselves to be more rewarding game. The situation wasn’t ideal, but at least his attack had stopped them from running any further, as the feline warrior soon gently left the human on the floor, before turning to face him. She was going to stand and fight. He immediately stopped on his tracks, glaring at the duo. In a slow, deliberate movement, he raised his hand again, his long, clawed finger pointing at them for a moment, before slowly reaching for his digivice collar, and slowly, gently tapping a couple of said devices, making that familiar plastic tapping sound. Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap...
The message was obvious: by the end, they were both going to be just another trophy. Yet despite how much he wanted to attack right away, the beast knew it would be foolish to charge blindly into the fray without a plan, and as such he stood there for a moment, waiting for the Ultimate level partner to attack him. He knew it wouldn’t take long for that to happen, he could see the sheer hatred in her eyes. As the creature quickly examined her from afar, his eyes momentarily focused on her glowing claws. Chrome Digizoid. Something dangerous, even for him. Even if close range was his preferred option, he had to be careful, precise. After all, he had the time to spare, he had all day ahead of him. Even if the fight could be resolved quickly, the creature was not in any rush. He was planning on savoring every last second. His patience was rewarded when the Meicrackmon lunged towards him in a somersault. With one brutish yet swift movement the monster jumped backwards, narrowly avoiding the red hot claws. His mighty wings flapped once to give him a further boost of distance to his dodging. As he landed loudly a good couple of feet away from the feline, the creature tilted his head ever so slightly for a moment, almost as if… he was mocking her efforts, in an odd way. Or, judging how his gaze seemed focus on the prone human, mocking the cat’s decision of leaving her partner's side. The partners were now separated from each other…and he knew for a fact the human wouldn’t get far even if she tried. With another delighted twitch, the monstrous killer made his move. He tensed his whole body for a minute, readying himself for his retaliation. Such an obvious attack could not be left unanswered. Letting out a loud, inhuman bellow, the monster quickly charged forward at a terrifyingly fast speed for something so big, his every step making the ground tremble as his whole body turned black, and his already thick carapace like skin hardened like iron. The cracks his steps started to leave on the pavement were a good indicator of the amount of pain awaited the other two. Now that she had separated herself from Haru, the feline now had two options, both just as bad for her, and beneficial for him: either she stood her ground and risked injury, or she would dodge the attack, and in doing so leaving the Bewitching Beast free way to reach the goggle wearing human.

Despite their size, the Arkadimon managed to swiftly evade her attack entirely... pausing as if to taunt her. She snarled as the only thing she managed to cut was empty space, taking a step back as she squinted nastily at the creature. Silent murderers were one thing... but sassy ones were a completely different level of frustrating for her. "Everyone's a critic." she managed to in frustration quip, bile building up within her.
Tawna's pupils dilated as she saw the behemoth Digimon charge, she rushing forward to try and impede it. With sheer strength, the Meicrackmon Vicious Mode managed to catch the Ultimate level mid-charge with her hands... but this was not without consequence as the manticore-ish Digimon skid several feet attempting to hold back her foe, her arms practically feeling like they were being torn apart by the velocity this thing. Tawna had essentially suffered the full-force of the attack just attempting to match it. She had a good look of the beast's wreathe of former trophies too...
Haru was still weakened from the attack earlier, clutching her side painfully, as she winced at the sight of blood staining her gloves. She took a few steps back as she witnessed the fight unfold, shocked to see Tawna just kinda stand there and take it... they should have easily been able to dodge THAT attack, so why did they stand their ground?
It took her a moment to realize that was because SHE was still here. In a perverse way, she was part of this fight too, whether she wanted to or not. Tawna had two people to micromanage right now... her, and the Digimon that wanted her dead. All she could do was try to not make herself more of a target... she managing to take a couple steps back into cover in the hopes that it may help... The way that thing had its eyes on her was way too unsettling.
Tawna gritted her teeth as she struggled through the intense pain of attempting to hold back her foe, letting out a roar as she in a surge of strength attempted to push her foe away. Whether she was successful or not, she needed an opening to strike... especially so with a melee attack if she could manage. Her viral side was in full-display now, she bellowing an inhuman screech. Whether they both wanted it or not, they were both in striking distance melee-range wise.
"Cursed Claw!" she spoke as she aimed for an uppercut-style slash across the Arkadimon's torso with her claws, now enveloped in a putrid violet hue. Of course, it wouldn't be the only thing in the way of her blades... the position she was in was a good angle for snapping that string of Digivices around their neck.
In Tawna's mind, she was just returning the favor. She wasn't going to make this easy for it... Not one bit.
Tawna was hit by It Follows and is counterattacking with Cursed Claw. Chaos-Half Life is ready.
Cursed Claw - Meicrackmon extends out her red Digizoid claws from her gauntlets, they glowing with dark, destructive energy as she dashes and attempt to slash at the foe. A successful slice will corrupt the foe's wounds, preventing them from being able to heal damage or status effects off for 3 turns. (Cooldown: 2 Posts)
[PASSIVE] Chaos Half-Life - Every once in a while, Meicrackmon can ready a trojan virus to apply with her physical attacks. The first foe damaged by her in this case is afflicted with the virus, it remaining dormant in the target's body for the next four turns (though foes WILL realize something was foribly inserted into them, though will not know what it is). Once this timer passes, the virus will activate and cause the foe's body to suddenly be afflicted by terrible pain as the trojan wrecks havoc to their digital make-up and Digicore, dealing heavy damage and rooting their movements for a turn from the intense pain. Once the virus has unleashed it's payload or has been purified from the host, Meicrackmon must wait three turns before she can ready for a new payload.

Just as planned, the Meicrackmon had chosen to stand her ground rather than risk her human be harmed. As his massive body struck against the furry partner, the creature stared her down as she stood there, taking the full force of the impact, his eyes glinting with smug malice, squinting a bit as if he were smiling. All partners were always this easy to manipulate into taking damage, it was almost funny. He understood little of the symbiotic bond between humans and digimons, and he didn’t particularly care either. They were all the same to him. Toys, food, a momentary distraction. Trophies. That said, he had to commend the vicious feline, not ever partner had the strength needed to stop his advance, much less to actually push him back. He would have preferred for her to also fall down to the ground because of the impact, but in all honestly, he was having such a good time he almost didn’t care. Of course, his joy was momentarily cut short as he readied himself for the Meicrackmon Vicious Mode counterattack. As her glowing claws swiped in an upward angle, the massive insectoid used his arms to attempt to block the attack, being mostly successful in protecting himself, the bladed Digizoid slashing across his arms and just a bit of his chest...though Arkadimon didn’t notice they had also managed to graze something rather valuable to him…. The killer took a small step back, pain coursing through his arms, the wounds recently inflicted emanated a dark, corrupting energy. He could tell those would take a long time to heal even after the battle. As if that wasn’t bad enough he felt as if she had injected…something, into him, an odd, invasive feeling was now moving across his code, spreading. The creature couldn’t place what it was, this was a completely foreign sensation for him, neither pain nor joy, just a general discomfort. But if came from her, it wasn’t something good. Just as he was ready to counterattack, he noticed on the corner of his eye, a tiny red object falling just behind his foe. Then a small, plastic sound came not too far from them, followed by a louder one. Tap, crack... The creature’s attention was momentarily drawn to the source of the sound. Just slightly behind the tall feline there it laid. One of the priced digivices from his collar. The small, bright red device was now on the ground. Split open. Broken. Apparently that last slash had managed to tear one of his trophies from the necklace. The monster looked at the broken piece of red plastic scattered about, before focusing back on Tawna, his whole body trembling with…something he hadn’t felt in a long while. Pure. Unrelenting. Anger. Now…now she had his full attention. For better or for worse. With a deep bellow, he reeled his arm back as if winding up for a strike, but the limb stopped midway before even getting close to the cat. The creature opened up his palm, revealing small, but incredibly sharp stinger like spikes tearing through Arkadimon’s skin. With an unnatural looking convulsion, the arm seemingly twitched for a moment, and with a disgusting sound reminiscing of bone and sinew tearing, a large amount of long, thick tendrils shot out of Arkadimon’s hand, the sharp stingers being on the tip of said tendrils, looking not unlike an army of small harpoons. Even though the human had just gotten behind cover, the stingers still had just enough range that they could realistically reach the human…if the feline chose to evade it of course. Though after that recent display of defiance, for once the killer would much rather the digimon to take the hit. She had to learn…
Arkadimon was hit by Cursed Claw and is now affected by Chaos-Half Life. Arkadimon counter attacks with Broken Toy: Attempts to painfully stab his future victim using long sharp tendrils coming from out of his hand, causing medium damage and binding them as the tendrils wrap around them, severely minimizing the affected victim’s mobility. Tawna's blow was able to aim true at the Arkadimon, but she soon realized she was just as vulnerable to an attack as he was. She only had a moment to comprehend the creature's malice-filled stare at her for tampering with its twisted necklace of bloodshed-earned trophies before she felt a sharp pain STAB into her, causing her to wretch briefly.
While Data leaked from the fresh wounds as the demon beast Digimon growled from the pain as she finally saw the tendrils stabbed firmly into her, she unable to back away from the creature. If anything, she was being pulled closer... and try as she might, she found great difficulty moving, a sense of urgency in the Ultimate level's
Haru realized they were stuck in a bad spot... that thing was planning something with Tawna with the way it was binding her, the girl wincing at her partner's pain (which she with no doubt in her mind believed was experiencing far worse than she had prior). She felt... well, to say the least helpless as she watch her partner futilely attempt to fight back, her heart beating at her chest in fear of the life of this person who was willing to fight what seemed to Haru as an incarnation of death itself to protect her. Was she really to stand helpless here...?
No.
The girl gritted past the pain in her back and side as she pulled out an orange-white D-Arc, managing to weakly pull out a Gold-ranked card, briefly glancing back at the battle with a look of anticipation. If there was a time to help her partner, it was now... She immediately slashed the card against the plastic-like device's scanner.
From nowhere, Tawna's eyes dilated as her tendrils that grew from her neck suddenly were tipped with heavy-metal red lances, she utilizing both skillfully... one in a attempt to slash at the tendrils connecting her and Arkadimon, the other in a attempt to stab at Arkadimon's wounds.
Hey, just because she was the victim here didn't mean she wasn't willing to fight dirty. When one is dealing with a monster like this, one could not pull any punches.

As Tawna let out a pained growl when she was pierced by the many tendrils, the creature couldn’t help but tilt his head a bit, before his whole body trembled with ecstasy while he made a low, repetitive yet not exactly monotone sound. Arkadimon was actually chuckling; seemingly delighted in the direction the fight was going and the feline’s reaction. Try as she might to hide it, he could feel her breathing slowly becoming frantic. She too, would eventually succumb to fear. She too would eventually break. He pulled tightly with his hand, the tendrils following his commands and wrapping themselves more around the cat’s limbs and body, trying to further restrict any movement as they slowly, agonizingly dragged her ever closer to him. All the while the stabbed stingers glowed with energy, quite literally feeding off the digimon’s pain and fear, slowly building up within Arkadimon, as if slowly but surely fueling something… It wouldn’t be long now, the creature could barely contain himself from the anticipation, his whole being trembling with every inch the Meicrackmon dragged closer. But, as he readied an attack to further stop her struggling, he then noticed a small surge of energy and a small glow coming from…the human? That couldn’t be right. Only when he sensed the same energy bursting through the pinned digimon did he started realizing what it was. It seemed this human also came equipped with one of those fancier digivices, the ones that used those small cards. Perfect, her’s would be a good replacement for the recently lost one. He was taken out of his mulling, as he suddenly saw the cat’s own tendrils suddenly light up with energy as two sharp lance tips appeared in their place, which then made a quick, swift movement. One aiming for the tendrils constricting the cat…the other aiming for Arkadimon. Surprise flashed in the monsters eyes for a moment, as he seemingly cursed himself for having forgotten about the human. This is what made hunting humans both as rewarding and dangerous as it was: they were sneaky but crafty little creatures. In the split second that took him realize his mistake, he twisted his arm around, causing his own tendrils to move and weave, narrowly avoiding the cut aimed at them. Unfortunately for the monster, he wasn’t so lucky when it came to avoiding the attack aimed at him, and he soon found himself with the sharp blade being dug into his skin…right into his already open wounds. The creature let out a sharp, pained roar. It hurt. A lot. So much so the creature actually closed his eyes for a moment, the pain being a lot to bear. Needless to say, rather than dissuading the insectoid digimon, this only fueled his anger further. He was not going to let her get away this easily. He pulled with all his might and anger with his tendril filled arm, trusting his great strength would be enough to throw the cat around like a ragdoll, hopefully smashing her around a bit, but what he really wanted was for her to come closer, as he then quickly aimed his free arm in the cat’s direction...then slowly raise it a bit upwards, aiming for the place the human was hiding in, an evil glow in the creatures eyes as his open palm glowed with dark energy once again. A moment later, he would be shooting his deathly beam again, hoping this would be enough to stop the cat from struggling for long enough while he prepared his preferred attack.
Hitting Tawna with Broken Toy once again activates Savor their Fear. Arkadimon is hit directly by Tawna's Twin Lances, but manages to avoid his tendrils to be cut. He attacks with Death's Touch Fires off a large beam of energy from his hand. Innacurate, but has a 75ft range and causes heavy damage. Three posts cooldown. aiming for Haru. Some Digimon have been known to glorify violence and bloodshed. In a way, it was justified... the natural laws of the Digital World favored the surival of the fittest, and right now Tawna was not being given much hope that she fulfilled that notion. Being tossed around painfully like some toy was not a pleasurable experience, especially being still attached to that creature.
The pain, Tawna could deal with that... The prospect of her own demise... Nothing... but seeing the creature aim another one of those destructive beams at her defenseless Tamer? Now that was real fear. Tawna cursed through the pain that wracked her body, she realizing the predicament she was in.There was no way she could get to the girl in-time while she was tangled to this bastard... unless she...
She gritted her teeth as she closed her eyes, gulping a bit of saliva. Sorry Haru, she thought to herself as suddenly a small portal appeared by her shoulder, one of the lance tipped tendrils of hers diving right in. As quick as it went in, it came out next to Haru and gave a forceful (but gentle) thwack at the girl's side (which unfortunately was the one Haru had been hit earlier from). Barely enough to cause the girl to fall to the ground, causing the blast of destructive energy to just barely pass overhead and into more rubble strewn around.
The Meicrackmon Vicious Mode retreated her tendril as quick as she had fulfilled the action, glaring at her foe from the ground. Still stuck to this beast... and with no easy way to assail it without being hurled aimlessly like some kind of sick toy, her options were limited.
Of course... limited only by her capacity to destroy this creature at ANY cost. Her angry snarl turned into a wild, manic shark-toothed grin as suddenly the Mini-Meis that floated by her side began to multiply again. What she was about to do was nigh-suicidal to use such an attack so close-range, but at this point... Tawna didn't care.
"Felt Made."
Suddenly in a single cataclysmic moment, the swarm of Mini-Meis dived en masse at Arkadimon before exploding all at once. The way the attack was positioned was by all means going to partially hit Tawna as well from the splash radius of the explosion... though the force was able to knock her back several meters, hard enough to cause the tendrils grip into her flesh to loosen, causing the Meicrackmon Vicious Mode to tumble to the ground before getting back into a feral, quadrupedal stance.
She gritted her teeth from the pain, the tendrils have DEFINITELY done a number on her, and her explosive gambit just now had left some of her fur singed... though the playing field has evened out somewhat. To be frank, even SHE didn't know the attack would have freed her... she had merely intended it to be a suicidal attack, but decided to pass it off as a lucky coincidence. All she could hope was the luck didn't run dry now... not here.
Haru meanwhile had just had her life flash before her eyes, she moaning slightly in pain... She was saved just now, but GODDAMN did it hurt still. She managed to sit back up, reminding herself that... she needed to keep moving. She wasn't helping Tawna by being an open target like this. She gritted her teeth as she slashed one more card before running towards some more cover, specifically an abandoned building that had it's top blown right off from some battle long ago.
Suddenly, Tawna felt a surge of energy, one that dulled out some of the pain she was experiencing. Slowly but surely, some of the wounds that she had received prior from the tendrils were mending together, bits of flesh sewing with one another. Tawna while was still injured, it helped give her back some of her fighting spirt... She just needed a little more time. She needed to stall.
Tawna used Brane Hopper to push Haru out of the way of Death's Touch. Tawna has used Felt Made at Arkadimon, the blast damaging her partially but prying her off the tendrils. Haru scanned Regenerate!
Brane Hopper - Meicrackmon is capable of tearing holes through space itself, allowing her to more or less as a free-action teleport short distances even in mid-combat. They are also able to be used to extend the range of her attacks (though other attacks will rupture them entirely) or to assist in dodging an attack. The only real limitations of this ability is that she can only rip about two holes a turn, one entry hole and one exit hole. (Cooldown: 2 Post)
Felt Made: The Mini-Meis' numbers multiply by the dozens for a turn, being sent forward by Meicrackmon to swarm at foes and self-destruct. Deals multiple bursts of moderate chunks of damage that can be distributed to multiple targets (split evenly), or swarm a single one for a much larger amount of damage. (Cooldown: 3 turns)

The Arkadimon shook his head a bit, slightly disappointed his beam had failed yet again. Perhaps he should replace it with a more useful move. Ah well, Meicrackmon would certainly have one or two good abilities he could use when he finally absorbed her data. He barely took notice of the human repositioning herself after his failed attack. He would deal with her eventually; right now he had bigger fishes to fry. His eyes squinted in delight again, as the tendrils kept slowly draining Meicrackmon’s energy while dragging her closer. Not nearly enough energy for her to even notice or even be impeded in any way, but just enough energy for Arkadimon to slowly charge up his “coup the grace” as it where. Once he readied his attack, it would all be over for her. She’d get to enjoy the most exquisite pain just before everything turned dark, what else could he possibly ask for? As he slowly readied himself for the kill however, he couldn’t help the frankly…maniacal grin the cat suddenly gave him. Had she finally snapped? No, he knew that look all too well. That was the smile of a partner with nothing else left to lose. Her now dangerous look suddenly sent the creature into high alert. Just what was she planning? The answer came quickly, as he noticed the small army of Mini-Meis converging around him. He shot them a curious look. Were they going to detonate and spray venom at him again? If so, he could deal with that, he’d rather take the poison again than letting go of his prey. What he didn’t expect was for all the small balls of fur to explode. The monster could barely react in shock as the small creatures detonated around him, the explosion sending the creature tumbling loudly across the floor, making him lose his grip on Meicrackmon. He continued tumbling a good couple of meters until he violently smashed against a dilapidated wall. For a moment there was silence, the creature lay inert by the side against the wall, large patches of his skin burnt off and singed by the explosion, small smoke emanating from all his burns. Could he be finally finished? After an agonizing moment of calm however, the creature slowly rose once again on his feet, bent limbs snapping back into place with a sickening crunch. His eyes glowed in sheer anger and hatred. He wasn’t finished. Not yet. Besides the aforementioned burns and cuts, there was something else different about the Arkadimon, something that caused him a lot of pain. Burnt, melted pieces of plastic were now lodged just underneath the Arkadimon’s neck, the force and heat of the explosion having melted them into his skin. Most of his necklace’s trophies now laid scattered across the pavement, all of them completely destroyed and unrecognizable. The monster froze for a moment, seemingly shocked when he noticed. Seeing all his trophies, the only proof left of all his achievements, of everything he had accomplished to be destroyed like that…it was just too much. With a loud, long, pained bellow of anger the creature punched the ground once. Twice. Thrice. And around ten times, screaming incoherently all the while. By the time he had stopped his body was now in a small crater he had created seven punches ago. The absolute feeling of rage that was coursing through his body was immeasurable. Now he no longer cared for the thrill of the hunt, for that ecstatic feeling the pained screams of his victims caused him, he barely even cared about taking his time with these two. All Arkadimon wanted now was to see both of them die screaming in agony. And he would stop at nothing to make sure that goal was achieved. With a flap of his wings, the enraged creature took flight for a moment, before rapidly descending towards the feline, his whole body hardening and becoming dark yet again as he let out a primal roar of anger, hoping to smash the feline flat so he would be able to let out some much built up frustration. But that wasn’t enough; he had to make sure the cat would stay down. With an ominous glow, hands grew and fingers stretched eerily, growing twice their size. As he landed harshly from his jump (aiming to fall either on top of Meicrackmon or close enough to make her lose her balance) he slashed downwards in her general direction, his claws leaving behind a reddish after image as they aimed to tear the target apart.
Arkadimon was blasted and harmed by Felt Made including his priced necklace. He's now lunging empowered by It Follows, as well as attacking with Rip and Tear: Arkadimon's claw like hands glow and grow for a moment, before he slashes in a wide arc in front of him, causing heavy damage. Tawna managed to stand back up as she eyed her foe managing to get back up, their movements as pained as her own. While injured, she nor they were down for the count yet... though Tawna wanted to make sure that she herself would be the only Digimon to walk away from this encounter.
However, something curious occurred... It seemed that lovely (with at least sets of quotation marks) handmade necklace of his was basically insalvageable now, destroyed and/or melted. It wasn't as if she intended to preserve that mockery of countless lives, though her foe certainly seemed to take great offense to this. Any composure the beast had disappeared in seconds, they soon back on the attack.
The initial descent of Arkadimon flying towards her was the easy part to evade... it was the swipe of their claws that caught Tawna off-guard. With no time to dodge, the brutish attack cleanly landed on the manticore as she was slashed at, knocked way off to the side as their form tumbled several meters.
The Meicrackmon managed growled in pain... as it turned out, the attack had not landed as dead-on as perhaps the Arkadimon hoped. A knee-jerk reaction at attempting to guard the attack was born from desperation; a desire to not get immediately eviscerated. Not to say it was guarded completely... No, most of the ability had managed to get through Tawna's defenses, if the large gash at her stomach leaking data was to say the least.
The Meicrackmon Vicious Mode laid on the ground, weakly managing to pick herself back up off the ground, her movements a bit weak as the red lances on her tendrils vanished from the damage she had sustained, though she wasn't done yet. The viral manticore stood up, her breathing a bit slow as suddenly, she began to speak. Suddenly, the Meicrackmon smiled... one of those wide, manic smiles, her cross-shaped pupils dilating within her dark-red eyes; Arkadimon had an extremely good look at her maw of razor-sharp teeth as she gazed at him.
Even now, Arkadimon may feel the wriggling sensation before as the trojan virus she had implanted was readying to strike. And she intended to let it happen. The feminine bestial Digimon suddenly went to all fours as she went into a mad dash forward, leaping at Arkadimon, her stinger-tail looking extra finnicky. "Berserk Sinking! she yelled as aimed for another dual-claw attack at the behemoth's wounds... not giving them any chance to walk away from this unharmed.
No... That chance vanished the moment he laid a finger on Haru.
Meanwhile during all of this, Haru's breathing was slowing down, her vision getting a bit blurry. She cursed to herself as she held out a hand to her side, her glove stained slightly by moist, fresh blood still leaking from her wound. She had overexerted herself and was losing blood, the girl in no position to move from the bit of cover she was behind.
She managed to silently offer a prayer for her partner's safety even as she kneeled, fighting back tears from the pain.
Tawna dodged It Follows, but was mostly hit by Rip and Tear. She is attacking with Berserk Sinking.

As his claws dug into her flesh, scattering bits of data around, the creature couldn’t help but feel some satisfaction upon seeing the feline’s form being sent tumbling to the ground. It wasn’t enough to calm down his anger, however. Not nearly enough. It was little, but he’d take what he could get for the time being. That said he almost felt a small pang of joy when she slowly rose from her crumpled form and back to her feet again. She still hadn’t had enough. Good, he wanted to drag this out as long as possible. Death was too good for this one now; she deserved something more…special. But he needed just a bit more time to regenerate his tendrils again… Even now, he could feel an odd…something, spreading through his system, filling his very being. It wasn’t anger. It wasn’t hatred. He felt both of those things now, he knew how they felt. So what was this foreign sensation coursing through his data? Regardless, he couldn’t let that distract him from the task at hand, last time that had happened it had almost ended poorly for him. As he was mulling on the matter, he noticed the injured Meicrackmon looking back at him with a murderous gaze again. And that smile. That wretched, sharp toothed smile. How he hated that loathsome expression of defiance. None of the past digimon nor humans had looked like that. There was a…odd, familiar feeling that came from gazing at her deranged face… Almost like looking into a twisted mirror. Perhaps that’s why he loathed that smile so much. Regardless, he had little time to think about that, as the creature broke into a mad dash towards him, sneering like a frenzied beast. The monster however, tried something other than madly dashing forwards to go and meet her face to face, instead took a step back, arcing his back for a moment. Once again, he twisted his body forward in one unnatural looking movement, the snapping of bones soon accompanied by a six pen sized needles aimed at the lunging feline’s stomach wound. Clearly he was learning a thing or two from this fight. How ironic he would use the same attack that had started this whole ordeal, the ordeal that had gone from another fun hunt to a matter of life and death in a flash, all to in an attempt to stall the feline. At this range, it should be hard for the cat to dodge, and the poison would hopefully buy him enough time to ready his winning move once again. Regardless of if the needles hit their mark or not, it was still too late to stop the cats attack. Unfortunately, as his back went back into his place, he found himself face to face with a really angry Tawna attempting to slash at his open wounds again. This time however he was ready for her, as he tried to use his good arm to stop the blow. It wasn’t enough to stop the claws from further opening his wound, but it was preferable than simply taking another full hit. No matter, this was a mere temporary setback. He would still come out on top.

Tawna's wild rush towards Arkadimon was a reckless move, and certainly one that could be taken advantage of. With no chance to evade at such close-range, the needles landed squarely on their mark, injecting their toxic load into the lunging beast... but beyond an initial pain, the Meicrackmon Vicious Mode was not slowed down in the slightest as she collided blade-to-arm with her foe. No... whatever venom was in those things was proving to be of no consequence to the demon beast, their manic grin only widening through the pain, the violet-markings on the orange-black feline's body glowing more intensely as vitality was surging back into her (and perhaps much to her opponent's horror). She'd have almost thanked him for the little "pick-me-up" if she wasn't preparing for the end.
Her initial attack with Berserk Sinking while was not nearly as successful as prior attempts, it was only a side attraction for what was to come. If her familiarity with her own abilities was correct, the finale surely was to happen... right about now. Whatever pain this killer of men may have experienced before in the past was going to be nothing for what was about to happen as his body was inflicted with an agony that gave the beast a taste of what he had once wrought.
The Chaos Half-Life has split within Arkadimon.
Of course, Tawna was not one to ignore a free opening to attack... the manticore Digimon suddenly leaped at Arkadimon once more, grabbing onto the writhing abomination with her sharp talons on all four of her main limbs, her two tendrils extending wrapping squarely around their neck... her face adorned with a malicious grin as one monster greeted another.
"̴̨͇̽͒Ĵ̴̮̼̯̀͜o̴̘̫̓̈́͝i̶̡͈̾̅͌n̴̫̣͂́ ̶͙̆m̴̢̛̟̜̱̈́͛͝e̵̜̊͂͘͝.̴̱́̓̈́ she uttered with a voice that was as gentle as whispering snow, but as cold and ruthless as the darkest blizzard, her words sounding more like an invitation. Her stinger-tipped tail lurched back, the tip glowing with a vile red hue at the tip. "Manticore Sting."
In one single swoop, her stinger tail darted at the paralyzed Arkadimon's chest... digging straight through their body with a sharpness and painful cruelty that was only befitting for the victim subject to it. Within, a malignant venom was injected... and all that was left was to watch her foe suffer.
Tawna was hit by Wing Clipper, but the poison has failed to affect her and is regenerating damage instead from Corruption-Eater. The Chaos-Half Life has detonated. She is attacking with Manticore Sting.
[PASSIVE] Corruption-Eater - [RAM UPGRADE GIGA] - This Digimon's data has been irrevocably altered in a manner that latches onto the concepts of chaos and normally toxic anomalies, nullifying their dangers to the point that they benefit from them. Foreign debilitating status effects like poison or corruption-style effects have no negative effect on her, in fact healing her for any damage they'd normally inflict or if they were a normal poison status effect otherwise. Appropriately, normally toxic substances are of no harm to her. An additional effect has left all of their forms as Virus attribute.
Manticore Sting - A last-ditch, but deadly technique of Meicrackmon's. Utilizing her stinger, Meicrackmon attempts to brutally gouge a foe and inject a lethal dose of corrosive venom. Stuns initially for 1 turn while inflicting a 3-turn poison, the poison damage significantly increasing the more wounded the foe is. While she only has enough venom for one dose, against an already weakened foe that dose may be all that’s needed.
