St. Patrick's Day was definitely a somewhat uncommon holiday to think of in the grand scheme of things. Now everyone and their mother knows and celebrate holidays like New Years Eve or Christmas, but St. Patrick's Days was just kind of in that weird niche of being a holiday that you never really remember even exists until it actually ends up coming. It was just kind of there until it becomes relevant. Haru had heard Labor Day was somewhat like that for Americans too, so at least she could relate to them. What was even this event about anyway? She didn't even know... Unfortunately for it, this also meant she didn't even care.
The girl yawned in her bed, she laying front-first as she had her elbows on the soft cushioning; she busy reading some manga of hers. The truth was, she really had not a care for the festivities today. For her, a day of relaxing in the human world was for the most all she really needed.
Her partner didn't exactly share the same idea of "relaxation" as she did, Tawna being the type to prefer actively moving about doing something at all times. Haru couldn't blame the Digimon really... they were the rambunctious type, not one to ever really settle down. They were normally fine in the Digital World, though they got antsy back home. They'd try to wander around, but Tawna disliked being away from Haru due to a need of staying close to the girl to maintain their form. While they were able to for the most roam the area around their home, any further forced Tawna back into Rookie level. It was somewhat why Haru couldn't fault them for wanting to be at the Digital World, since that limitation was less an issue.
The girl yawned as she briefly glanced outside from her bedroom, her family's home yard vibrantly green from plant-life. Spring was here to bring new life, to replace the death of Autumn and Winter; Haru wasn't the type to get philosophical like that, but Spring made her feel all nice and fluttery inside. It was a time where everything could be renewed, the old discarded to make room for better things. It was the kind of mindset that Haru wanted to apply to her own life at times.
As the girl relaxed in her bed, she was jostled back into reality as she heard the tinking of her bedroom window. The girl sat up with a mild look of confusion on her face, but only until she saw the familiar sight of her partner's Champion level peeking their head outside. The grumpy-looking Meicoomon was tapping her paw on the window glass, Haru realizing it was locked. Not wanting to risk the cat trying something crazy like breaking the window open, Haru quickly took the latch off and opened it.
"I... see you've been busy." the black-haired girl greeted her partner, noticing them carrying... her backpack? That was rather unusual to see, even coming from Tawna. "So why'd ya take my stuff? You don't usually bring stuff with you, just back." she ended up commenting, referring to previous experiences with dead vermin and birds brought back into the Toriya household.
The Meicoomon crawled inside as her tamer shut the window, she laying the red backpack of the girl's on the bed. "I have only the most logical of reasons for that, Haru." she spoke to the girl, causing Haru to slightly roll her eyes.
"Yeah. That's a whole lot coming from you." Haru somewhat snidely commented as she pulled the bag towards. "What did you do this ti-" she began to speak as she unzipped the bag, pausing as she saw what was inside.
Clovers. Lots of clovers. It was a large pile of clovers, freshly pluck just today it seemed. Haru could even still see some fresh dew from this morning still on them. Regardless, it was an incredibly odd sight overall. "...? Why do you have all these clovers for?"
Tawna seemed to lounge slightly on the girl's bed, sitting down just like any regular cat would. "You humans have a myth about four-leaf clovers, yes? We are going to find one. Starting now." the Champion level monotonously spoke, they beginning to sort through the clovers... one at a time, discarding the three-leaved stalks.
Haru just seemed to remain silent for a moment, actually in semi-disbelief. She didn't know whether or not to be either appreciative of the Meicoomon's intent, but there was no way they were seriously expecting her to assist in digging through all of those clovers just for a mythical four-leaf clover? "... You don't really expect to find one in all of those clovers, do you? How many did you grab today?"
The Meicoomon shrugged, already having a small pile of rejects thrown off to the side. "Don't know, don't care. I've been picking these things all day." she passively spoke continuing their work. They seemed oddly content just sorting through the dead plants, though paused as they noticed Haru was not assisting them in searching through the pile. A brief look of confusion seemed to appear on the Digimon's face, unsure as to if there was a problem. "... Do you not wish to join me?"
Haru actually felt her gut twist slightly, especially with how sad the Meicoomon seemed just now. It wasn't the first experience she has had with searching for a four-leaf clover, she remembering as a kid vainly trying to find one with Naoko; it was just a rather fruitless effort that really had no substantial reward in her eyes. A four-leaf clover actually didn't grant good luck, but at the same time Tawna couldn't be faulted for thinking it was true. She gathered up all these clovers clearly wanting to find at least one four-leaf clover, but how likely was that even?
At the same time... she just couldn't manage to say no. It was the first she felt the feline Digimon had went out of their way to do something... well, nice for once. For the lone wolf cat who tended to ditch Haru on a frequent basis when in the real world, it was actually a pretty nice gesture. The black-haired girl smiled gently at Tawna, she giving a soft sigh. "Tawna, I do want to say... don't get your hopes up. Four-leaf clovers are really rare, so you can't expect to get a whole bunch of them and find one."
"Oh..." Tawna ended up responding with a mild hint of disappointment in her voice she gazing down at the pile of clovers... though perked up as she saw Haru begin to throw three-leaved clovers onto the pile of rejects.
"Doesn't mean we can't try ~" the gogglehead cheerfully added in, earning her the very slightest of smiles from Tawna.
The pair soon began idly sorting clovers, sorting rejects away from the huge pile of clovers still remaining in the girl's bag. Was it how she planned to spend her day-off? Nah, not at all... But at the same time, this didn't bother Haru one bit.
As the two toiled away, unbeknownst to either... a single clover from the bag of clovers daintily is blown out, landing softly on the girl's bedroom carpet, four leaves growing on it's stalk.
