Ah, yes, the Digital Field Club is relatively new! My friend, Yukiko, founded it, to research the Digital World in its entirety!" Ayumi followed Kan, trusting this man. If anything bad happened, she trusted her partner to pull her out! "Is tinkering so rare? I always thought when people get bored they start playing about with stuff! That's how I got into tinkering!"
The Monodramon listened to Silvermon's explanation. "Ah, is that so? So in a way you lend him strength, and he lends you physical presence? What a fascinating symbiosis, certainly a new and unique way to Digivolve. I hope we can find a Spirit Totem of our own one day to study it."
"Really now? Huh. Well it's good that there is a group dedicated to exploration or the like then if these scanners are for you guys."
The shopkeeper made sure to turn on the light and made sure that the door was propped open just so that the others could come in if they wanted. There was no real reason to leave it closed unless the other desired it of course. He wasn't scummy and wouldn't do anything to a potential customer or friend.
Most of the back room was filled to the brim with gadgets made specifically for digital world ventures. Ranging from the sort of things you expect to find in andromon shops, to heavy duty stuff you'd expect to find in combat orientated ones. All of it was mostly geared towards things that humans could use easily however.
The back wall was the only one where things were locked tightly in place, each labeled carefully and the level of danger each one represented was clearly mentioned. Most of those items were highly irregular and didn't fit proper descriptions.
"Somewhat Rare I'd say, in my decade or so of traveling the digital and human worlds I haven't met many digitally aware individuals that were tinkerers. It's unfortunate really. I started it as a living and it ended up being a massive hobby of mine."
The man chuckled and went over to the scanning section where there was a decent array of parts and 'pre built' scanners that the man could show the other human.
"Lets see here... Lightweight, durable and.. Probably something water proof?"
In the front Silvermon dipped his head in a nod. Affirming what the other had said. He however chuckled a little bit when the other spoke of finding a spirit totem of their own to study.
"Well unfortunately you have to be a spirit user to find a totem, but there are plenty of them around. Kan knows a few and is one after all, that and I don't think I'd mind being studied. But yes, that is the basic jist of our relationship. Some spirits affect their users quite drastically and ours is one of those. He's a very changed man from the first time we met I'll tell you that much!"
The spirit gave the Monodramon a grin and leaned on the counter. Though it took a semblance of restraint to show that he actually wasn't properly leaning on the thing, he almost kept phasing through it and with a soft huff he'd redirect some energy to his arm to make it so he wouldn't fall through the damn thing!
"So how long have the two of you been partners? Couple months?"
Ayumi marvelled at all this stuff. "Whoa, so many things! You made your own scanners you said? So did I! Well, to be accurate, I kind of just made a program to load into a Digivice to scan Digimon, buuuuut I also made scanners for plants, one for the atmosphere, one for Data content in objects... M-n-most of these are still in the prototype stage, but the program is already in Beta!" Ayumi was a tad taken aback by the more dangerous contraptions. "My word, they do look quite dangerous!"
Solomon nodded. "Ah, is that so? I figured one might stumble over them by sheer chance, as one does with other artifacts or the like. But if a spiritual connection is needed, then I believe we cannot find one without another Spirit User." He rubbed his chin, and was a bit surprised at the question. "Ah, well, to be honest...we have only known one another for a couple of weeks. But I have felt a spiritual connection to her for a while now." His facial expression did not change, but he did blush.
"Yup! everything here was hand made, scanners and all. That's still very impressive that you got a program to load into a digivice. I'm still struggling with mine. Quite a few things you are able to do it seems. I'm rather impressed. How long have you been working on those?"
Kan would perk up and look over at the dangerous equipment, sighing softly. There were digital dangers and there was ways to protect oneself without a digimon. Most of them were things that would just sting against lower tiers at best but would be somewhat harmful against a human if managed to be turned against them somehow.
"Meant to defend against champion or lower at best. It's why I have them locked up like so. Can't risk them getting out..."
He'd shake his head and start going through the scanners tutting a little bit as he was trying to find something specific he could show her. After a bit he'd pull out a small handheld device and offer it to Ayumi.
"Multi Scanner, good for depth, good for height. Good for just about everything. Has a rubber case so even if you drop it the case will absorb most of the shock. Doesn't have a good program in it yet though."
Out in front the silvermon dipped his head in a nod.
"There are chances of stumbling over them yes, but they likely won't activate unless you are the one that's supposed to get it. I imagine if you get a spirit user early enough and work with them they might end up being willing study subjects."
The silvermon raised his eyebrows a bit when the other mon told him that they had only known one another for a few weeks. It was rather surprising with how well they interacted with one another!
"That's surprising, considering how well you two seem to get along. Most tamers at your guy's stage bicker and such. But it's good you have a connection, most people don't at this stage."
The girl followed eagerly with the presentations. "Oh, I spent one entire night to make the prototype of the Super Scanner, and the other gadgets took me up to a day each! I don't want to sound smug, but I am -quite- smart and crafty!~" The weapons surprised her. "Ayeh? Doesn't your Digimon partner defend you from other Digimon?"
Solomon nodded again. "In that case, if we do ever stumble over one, we shall let you know. Provided you are willing to help us out." He looked over at Ayumi and Kan, then leant over and whispered to Silvermon. "I think we share a deep kinship. That of not being like everyone else. This could be why we get along so well."
