The morning sun would rise to the East, the burning bright orb hung low in the early morning sky, casting beams of light peeking across the mountaintops in the distance to the East, faintly painting the landscape and skyline in shades of orange and pink. The beams would reach a specific carved out rock face, flooding over the rocky formation, shadows diving into and defining the details of each carving. Overlooking their home from the mountainside above would be a set of faces carved, and what home did they overlook? None other then the Village Hidden in the Leaves. Yep, thats right, shinobi about and not a digimon in sight...not traditionally anyways--and whats a Digimon? Who knows! Not these people.
But the stone faces on the Hokage Mountain above wasn't the only faces to be painted with light--beams of sunlight peered through an open window to the East and cast an annoying glow to the eyelids of a certain individual. Wrapped in a blanket, a figure begun to stir in this second floor apartment bedroom, squirming, stretching, groaning. Finally this figure sat up and the blanket fell from his form, arms out and stretching, a mighty yawn cast out an open mouth. Finally he stopped yawning and the figure's face returned to normal, jaded jade hues peering out from a face framed in long brown locks. Who was this young man with green eyes and long brown hair, Cole Archer? No, this was Coru, Chuunin of the Hidden Leaf! A working class ninja on his way to shape his legend to be left behind and echo across battlefields for decades. But for now, he was a simple Chuunin and that was fine for him.
He finally got to his feet and would step out of the bedroom for a moment, returning a few minutes later with a cup of hot tea in hand, taking a seat at the edge of his bed. A lazy sigh passed Coru's lips, lifting the cup to take a sip as eyes peered over to the open window that brought the light to wake him. His sharp ears burned with the sound of wings flapping, he knew exactly what was coming...He couldn't sleep in if he wanted. Almost on cue a large red feathered hawk like monster landed on the edge of Coru's open window, only garnering the same lazed look from the tired and groggy Chuunin. The perky bird with a feather stuck in a headband marked by the leaf emblem would wave its wing at Coru cheerfully, but only seen the young man take another lazy sip from his cup of tea.
"Morning Coru! I have a mission for you, sorry to intrude so early in the morning. Details are here when you want 'em. Have a good day!" the Hawkmon would say as it dropped a scroll on the desk next to the window, the bird speaking with an educated tongue and tone. Smiling and saluting at Coru before turning and taking off to continue its job, Taka disappeared into the distance out the window. Coru huffed a sigh, "...Every time Taka...Every time at the ass crack of dawn..." he mumbled groggily in annoyance, obviously familiar with the hawk monster and its habits. Coru would get up and lazily walk over to pick up the scroll, opening it and taking in its contents.
He sighed again and tossed it on the floor, having snagged a piece of torn clothe from inside the scroll, turning around and stepping over to what appeared to be a closet. But was it? No...Opening it, the closet was revealed to be an armory, filled with swords, kunai, shuriken, and many other weapons and armors to choose from. He disappeared into the armory for a few minutes before returning geared and suited up, branding the normal green Konoha vest over a sleeveless black shirt and a pair of black pants and shoes finishing the outfit. He nodded and got to the window that Taka had arrived at earlier--looking around his bedroom...he was forgetting something. Of course! Reaching over to the desk next to the window he grabbed a necklace, his sister's pendant, putting it over his head and tucking it safely into his shirt. "Ok...lets go." he murmured before leaping out the window--an inhuman bound that landed the man on the rooftop across the street.
On the rooftop the man would stand, lazily looking out across the other roofs...he'd lift his hand to his mouth and bite his thumb, drawing blood. "Summoning Jutsu!" he said while performing a string of hand signs, slamming his hand to the ground with the offer of blood. In a poof of smoke, a new figure appeared--summoned to Coru's position. As the smoke cleared it was revealed to be Tsuki--a black furred wolf...lizard...4 armed...thing. What? Either way Coru looked to Tsuki. "Can you track this scent Tsuki?" he'd ask, offering the clothe from earlier. She blinked her bright blue hues and stepped closer, sniffing it. She then sniffed the air, turning as she did. She nodded. "Its this way, Coru-chan." said the cheery Digimo--I mean Summoned creature, the sufix to his name in replacement of the normal 'Dear' in this case from Tsuki. With a nod the team took off, Cory following Tsuki--following her nose.
This would lead them out of the village, and on a fast paced along hour chase, the stamina of both shinobi and summon shown as they would in time reach a village many miles from Konoha. Once there they'd find the village silent, void of life...everything was fine, nothing destroyed, but just...abandoned--recently too. The two stood with eyebrows raised. "The hell is going on here..." Cole expressed, the two slowly exploring the empty village.
Suddenly almost like a zombie apocalypse, the villagers made their presence known, bursting out the buildings--doorways and windows alike. They mindlessly stumbled towards the duo, who got back to back at this point. "The--...They are under mind control Coru-chan!" exclaimed Tsuki, suddenly having to dodge as one lunged at her. Coru and Tsuki both leaped up to a rooftop above their reach, the zombie like humans not being capable of the feats of a shinobi to get to them. Coru sighed, shaking his head. "Who would do this..." "Coru-chan we have more problems, look!" Tsuki would say while pointing. Across the street on the rooftop opposite them was a lone figure--but in a blur they disappeared. Coru drew his sword just in time to block--another sword clashing with his and becoming deadlocked. As Coru looked to see who was attacking him, his eyes filled with what could only be described as pure unadulterated horror. "Sh-.....Shinku....-Onee...sama..." the man could barely get his words out.
Standing with blades locked with Coru was a slender feminine figure, long Scarlet locks...Hint hint...framing the woman's youthful and admittedly beautiful face as she held the blade to the taller man's own Katana. It was Shinku--Coru's older sister! One he'd thought dead for so long, standing before his eyes! But...was it her? No, it had to be...but her eyes...they was shadowed and glazed over--the same as the mindcontrolled folk below. "Shinku-Oneesama you have to snap out of it! Its me, Coru!" he cried as she tried to overpower him--but suddenly he found her stepping back and taking another swing, the sound of blades clashing loudly echoing across the rooftop. "Shinku-Oneesama please! Its me..." Coru would say, sorrow behind the young man's voice and tears welling in his eyes. But he got no answer...no...she remained perfectly silent, and with a leap she backflipped back to the opposing rooftop. The man lowered his sword, wide eyes watching, the man stepping towards Scarle--I mean Shinku with his hand reaching out to her...but as if he couldn't grasp her, she'd suddenly retreat.
"Coru-chan!....Coru-chan!..." echoed in his head. "Cole!...Cole please wake up dear!" Tsuki's voice continued to echo in his head. "Wake..up...?" he asked as he stood in shock on the rooftop...Suddenly Cole snapped awake and shot up from his bed, drenched in a cold sweat and breathing heavily. He looked around in shock, where was he, what happened?...He was in his apartment, a small place in Shibuya Japan...Cole raised his hand to grip the side of his head--Tsuki the BlackGabumon beside him with a worried look on her face. "You was having a nightmare dear...I had to wake you up." she explained to the confused man. "...What...was....was I dreaming?...." Cole asked, looking down to see Scarlet's necklace hung from his neck...the man clutched the pendent and sunk back into his bed, looking at the ceiling.
