Even if it didn't make sense to the angel, what choice did K have? She was stuck between the law of the demons and the law of the angels - if she sold Wing out, her life would be forfeit to one end of the war, and if she protected them, her fate was sealed right there. By this point, she had at least bought enough time for Wing and the rest to scurry out of the back - even if they searched the place and found she was lying, it wouldn't be possible for them to catch up to the vampire.
This left K, and K alone, to bare the brunt of the angel's cruelty - and at her answer, the MagnaAngemon gave a sigh, shaking his head, merely nodding to the Wisemon.
"A dedicated innkeeper to the end? How romantic a thought - ah, but if that's the case..."
Yup - there wouldn't be even a pause for that. The tome, drawn once more, was placed right on K's desk - and should the Renamon try and move away, the MagnaAngemon would try and drag her right back. By will or force, should K look upon those blank pages, the same torrent of wind would draw her right in, towards those pages. Despite all logic, she'd fall right in, seamlessly as if slipping into a pool...
... And if she'd find herself inside, she'd hear the scratching of a thousand pens into parchment riddled into her ears, to the point it felt like static. Her eyesight would show herself lost in a void, an endless stream of words and phrases, with or without meaning, streaming around and past her. Silver would be nowhere in sight - why would he?
That was a different page, after all.

This wasn't the first time that k had to make a choice like this and it certainly wouldn't be the last. If she really thought about it she had helped some angels out just as much as she had helped some demons or virus types. She sighed softly and stared at the MagnaAngemon. She was resigned to this point; she had nothing else she could realistically do and it was the frustrating part of this decision she as a person had to make.
She'd grit her teeth as she heard the Wisemon speak; after all she knew what she was in for for the most part. Likely going to be burdened with some fate she wouldn't like or something that was excessively worse than the fate that silver had been pulled into.
She'd eye the tome and glance up at the MagnaAngemon; she couldn't outrun them or fight them. They were far out of her power range, she was a mere rookie to their ultimate. Even if it had been just one of them she likely would of suffered the same fate.
She had nothing to say to either of them, but she deigned to look at the tome. It was frustrating and that same torrent of wind drew her in; much like silver. She didn't like the sensation or feeling and once she was inside well...
The renamon looked around and found herself amidst a endless stream of words, phrases and the sound of scratching pens. It was something she'd likely have to get used to and with a hearty sigh she'd shift to at least get comfortable.
Damnit. I didn't want to get drawn into this. But what choice did I have... I am sorry silver.
The fact she didn't see silver meant one of a couple things; but all of them were a somewhat moot point. They were both stuck here. Apart from one another and as unlikely as it was she doubted she'd see him again.

Without 'incident', K would be apprehended by the tome, and sealed away for an indeterminate amount of time. The Angel had been little more than petty with his last threat: the Wisemon would already know the contents of the book merely by touching it, and knew full well that the demons and mercenaries had resided in the back of the inn.
The key word there, was 'had'. Of course, Wing and the others had used the time bought by the Renamon long ago to escape, much to the frustration of the angel. This was no concern to her, of course...
Just how long would have she been trapped in that tome? It had certainly been a long while, perhaps long enough for her to question if this was her fate. Days? Weeks? A month? It would definitely be hard to keep track, her mind likely long numb to the sounds. But, eventually, she would feel a surge of power around her:
At once, the sound would cease, and she'd feel herself fall out of the book, right into a grassy field. Tents surrounded this area, members of the holy army freely walking around, preparing for the objectives that lay ahead. K wouldn't be allowed much freedom, though, as a fierce palm would plant right against her back.
That same angel looked down at her, the Wisemon observing from the side.
"Hmph. Consider this your lucky day, Renamon." The Angel's tone was quite commanding, and even a touch surprised: "Not every day we come across a rookie with 'healing hands' - so, welcome to the back lines. I trust this works for you?"
The angel inched closer: "If not, that's fine. The dragons could always use someone to keep their senses sharp."

The renamon didn't know what the wisemon was capable of; nor did she really care at this point. It was frustrating to think about that she had done all of what she had for naught. But customer service was something you couldn't skimp on regardless of who poked and prodded at you. She had dealt with angels often enough to where hse knew that if she had done anything differently she likely would of been loaded.
She couldn't tell how long she had been trapped in the tome, but the sense of self that she had was firm and made it somewhat easier for her to deal with the wait as it was. Near the end of it however she could feel that resolve fraying just a bit; once the surge of power suddenly boomed up around her she'd blink repeatedly. Were they releasing her back into her inn or...
When she fell out of the book she'd put a hand to her head, thankful that the scratching sounds of the pen was gone. It had started to really drive her up a wall even though she somewhat had drowned it out. Her thoughts were cut short as she felt that fierce palm plant itself against her back. She'd turn her head to look back; seeing the Angel that had forced that ultimatum upon her. Her ears flicked a bit as he mentioned her healing hands; she'd grit her teeth slightly.
So that's how it is huh..
There was a resigned sigh and she'd nod; her tail swishing a bit. This wouldn't be the first time she had been a healer for some conflict small or large. Though the latter was so long ago she honestly had trouble remembering it.
"Rare is it? I'd say it's Better than being in that book. Where do you want me?"
Her tone and response was rather surprising as the book had certainly done it's damage to her resolve or mind. But honestly what choice did she have? She didn't want to become some dragon's meal or some angel's plaything. Healing people would likely just keep her away from the action and protected. It saddened her immensely that her inn wouldn't have a caretaker for a while and it was likely it'd be torn apart.

It didn't take much for the Renamon to understand her place in all this: seeing her nod, and sensing frustration but not defiance in her tone, the MagnaAngemon slowly stood, releasing his weight from the Rookie's back.
"Wisemon will be handling the specifics to that. Know that we have our eye on you for the time being - other than that, welcome aboard." Acquiring help like this was just par for the course for the angels, and with her as a successful recruit, there was no point for the commanding figure to waste more time on a mere medical assistant. The Wisemon, however, would help K back to her feet, his tone suggesting that he'd been closer to a dear friend rather than someone who had imprisoned her for some unknown amount of months.
"Well, you'll need this," the Wisemon slipped a band over her arm, marking her as a member of the medical team. "Now you see the tents with the white tops over there? You want number eight. Go to the back, show the Angewomon the band, and you'll be put right in line." The Wisemon gave a chuckle: "The hours are long, you're paid poorly, and you're among the last to leave the camp should we get caught. Have fun!"
And with that, she'd be pushed right along, the Wisemon vanishing from sight a moment later, leaving K alone in the middle of the camp. Should she follow directions, she'd see about what she was expecting: several cots and hammocks, some unoccupied and most not, with either injured or resting Digimon. Six or seven other medical users shuffled around from patient to patient, a single Angewomon at the back directing orders.
Yup... she wasn't going to get a break at all, here.

K shifted a little bit when the MagnaAngemon released his weight from her back. The pressure that an ultimate could put on someone such as her was a lot higher and definitely wasn't something she'd want consistently. The renamon rubbed her muzzle and stared at the MagnaAngemon; the fact that he said welcome aboard of all things only made the rookie sigh. She didn't really want to be here and work for them; but in essence of her safety and the desire to eventually return back to her inn... Well she had to work for and with them.
"All right. Not unexpected I suppose."
When the Wisemon helped her back to her feet, she'd just stare blankly at him for a moment. Then to the band that was now on her arm; it was an easy symbol for her to recognize as she had seen it in use before. The renamon bit her lip and dipped her head in a nod.
"Paid? I somehow even doubt that. I'm used to long days so this isn't going to be any different.
The renamon snorted softly and shook her head; she wanted to ask about silver. What was going to happen to the poor boy; but she already knew that he didn't have a healing power like she did. No he had some other simpler stuff. She stood there for a moment, considering leaving and trying to make a good escape. She'd look down at her hands for a moment, her tail swishing to and fro before slowly padding off towards the tents that the Wisemon had directed her to.
Upon arriving she saw something decidedly familiar. She had done stuff like this before; her eyes sweeping over the location with a practiced ease before she'd quickly go over to the Angewomon. She hadn't been told to speak to them, but merely show them the band. So she simply waited for a minute or two before approaching the Angewomon. Quickly gesturing to the band and quirking a brow.
Why would she expect anything different from the angels now days?

To be fair, K was hardly the only person who didn't want to be here - especially in this tent. Even as she walked up to the head medic, the fox would hear the sound of groaning soldiers, as well as panicked and hurried field medics. Supplies were passed around, and the entire room's data felt 'fuzzy', simply for the amount of radiated healing data in the air.
The Angewomon spared the Renamon a glance, giving a sigh. Just a rookie medic, huh? "Beggars can't be choosers, I guess. You're job's to screen the newcomers that get dragged in. Assess it, and if you can't handle it on your own, call for someone wearing a blue band. If someone wearing other than white," the color on K's band, "tells you to do something, you do it."
So much for an employee introduction: with just those instructions, a small bag was thrust into her arms, able to be worn around her waist by a cloth belt. Inside were simple medical supplies. "No complaints. You're already on thin ice as it is."
"Oi, fox! Tighten this off, will ya!"
K's first instruction came from a Strabimon, quickly waving the Renamon over. The Angewomon had already started giving off other directions across the tent - as K would come over, she'd see a fallen Guardromon, his arm held in place by a white bandage. The Strabimon already had a power drill in hand to attempt to re-attach it fully, but it was a job that took more than two hands!
"Name's Wolf. Just make sure the arm sets in place properly." He set a new bolt on the tool, ready to attempt repairs on this metal 'mon.

K flicked an ear at the groaning of the soldiers; it was just another thing that she was well accustomed to even if had been a long time. The hurried motion of the medics wasn't surprising as they were on a natural time crunch. The reaction that the Angewoman gave her wasn't really a surprise; she likely wanted someone that was more powerful and had stronger healing for the harder patients.
"All right."
The renamon's eyes flicked down to her band and she found herself frowning. There was a momentary pause before the bag was thrust into her arms. The following statment seemed to be more directed at the idea that she would complain about this. Realistically she was actually somewhat happy she wasn't on the front lines or in that damnable tome. The scratching of those pens made it hard to do anything in there; ranging from thinking to even sleeping.
"You won't get any from me."
The renamon quickly put on the small bag on, tighting the belt to a comfortable but suitable amount for her size. Her ears flicked when she was almost immediately addressed. She was quick to come over and with a practiced ease she'd give the Guardromon a once over as the other spoke.
"Mine's K."
She didn't really need to respond to the second part, she knew what she was doing and it was easy enough but it could be something that most people wouldn't immediately know how to do. Re-attaching limbs was very dicey especially for mechanical digimon. But she'd quickly shift the arm lining it up and holding it in such a way that'd allow the Strabimon to use that bolt to 'repair' the digimon.

K was quick on the pick-up, wasn't she? In any ordinary sense, she would have been a valuable asset to keep around: a Rookie calm enough to move quickly and act efficiently. But considering the circumstances, the others around were wary.
The only way someone would have been added in the middle, is if they were forced to work. And though medics captured from the enemy were valuable, they had a risk. So the Strabimon had a little plan, to temper that problem. His movements were deliberately disguised, such that K might not even notice that the screw was out of line. The drill gave a hiss, the Strabimon loudly swearing:
"Damn it, keep it still, K!" His tone was frustrated - perhaps explained away by the fatigue, but it was made to sound like K was being wholly unhelpful for the entire process. In fact, he'd screw up more than one bolt this way - and each time, the Renamon would be blamed, until the Angewomon would finally take notice. Floating over, she stared down at the two...
... But before the wolf could even speak, her fist collided with the side of his temple, immediately rendering Wolf unconscious.
"Hmph. It doesn't take four arms to do what he was doing." The Angewomon glared down at the Renamon: "Take his place. I've no use for ingrates who are looking for nothing but a cheap buck." Of course, the angel was already watching this new recruit closely - did the Strabimon honestly think he could hide from her gaze?
The rest of the shift would go on relatively uneventfully, and as the sun started to set on the horizon, the whistle was blown - indicating for the medics to change shifts with the other group. K would originally have instructions to go along with the rest of the medics - but she would be pulled from the line by a familiar hand and voice.
"Ah, sorry, sorry." The Wisemon gave a chuckle. "This way, please. I've a few words for you!"

K shifted a little bit her ear flicking slightly as she held the arm in place. She wasn't going to really try to explain why she was here or what had brought her into this conflict. She figured that everyone knew that she was forced into this or thought she was an enemy now working for them. Hell they could even chalk her up as a spy and she wouldn't be really surprised.
However when the Strabimon told her to keep the arm still she'd blink. Tilting her head she'd pause and consider the fact that she had moved it. Or perhaps her grip was slipping? Shifting just a bit she'd make sure that she was holding it properly but alas that didn't matter. The strabimon blamed her for each and every time he messed up. Though she quietly shifted her grip time and time again to try to make sure that she was holding it correctly. Were procedures so different that she was doing this improperly?
When the Angewoman floated over K turned her head to look up at the angel. She had maybe a moment before the wolf was unconscious; K blinked several times in surprise. Her gaze shifted to look at the strabimon; noting that he was easily knocked out. It wasn't a surprise considering the level difference; but still was that needed? At the angewoman's instructions she'd nod and quickly go to work; her ears flicking. She had some bolts to pop out and re-align it seemed.
"Very well. I'll try to keep up."
The renamon would of course set the strabimon aside if he was left alone; but if he was taken away or something she wouldn't touch him. She wasn't even sure what she should and should not do. Even though the rest of the shift went on rather uneventfully she couldn't lower her guard; she was halfway expecting that MagnaAngemon to pop up and make her be a guard or something.
The hand that quickly pulled her from line only made the renamon sigh softly. She should of expected this... But the one to pull her from the line was no the angel; it was the wisemon. She'd blink a few times and follow him with a slight frown.
"This isn't about the Strabimon and Guardromon is it?"
She wasn't expecting it to be, but she wasn't taking any chances. She was very tired from the shift and coming straight into it after being in the tome... Well. She honestly had less fight in her than normal; she doubted she could make a good case if something like that was brought up.

"You'll do better than try."
The Angewomon's perception and tone were sharp, but K's efforts were enough to avoid drawing further ire from her supervisor. Nervous as she may had been, there would likely be nothing on her performance that would have made her stand out as 'bad' - and certainly, there wouldn't have been any time to report anything off.
So why had the Wisemon pulled her out of line? The sorcerer merely chuckled, shaking his head as he heard those questions. "Oh, no, no, nothing like that. But the MagnaAngemon's been on my case on you in particular. Ever since your arrival in our little tent village, you've been awfully complaint, keeping your nose down, not a single complaint. Admirable, yes... but isn't that suspicious?"
The Wisemon grinned, tapping the tome under his arm. "So rather than keep any sort of secrets between us, he wants us to get a concise record of the last day. Of course, he thinks you might lie about any sort of scheme you may be hiding..." He chuckled, smirking and apologetic as ever.
And lying straight through his teeth. There was no guarantee, if she agreed, she'd simply be trapped just overnight. "Better than the alternative, right?"

K flicked her ear at the Angewomon's words; she'd dip her head in a nod and sigh. If she didn't try here and didn't complain about things she'd likely just end up getting shoved back into that tome and forgotten about. Or perhaps even worse; she didn't want to really think about it. It wouldn't affect her performance too much; she figured if it did she'd be out of luck.
She didn't know what the Wisemon possibly could want; but considering that the ultimate was the one that had brought her here for she could only imagine the long list of things he could want or do to her. She'd flick her ear staring at the Wisemon as he spoke; she didn't want to get back into that book, digitized or deal with the beasts. She felt that last one was paltry to the tome but...
"...Anything but being compliant and workable would just end badly for me. I see how it'd be suspiciou-"
The renamon's eyes widened a little bit and the renamon took a single step backwards. Her body visibly shuddering at the thought of being back in that tome. It hadn't been bad at first when she had been in there; but the constant sound and words to her that simply didn't make sense... Well it had a rather poor effect on the fox.
"But.. How... I. N-.... I.. I don't really have a choice.."
The renamon's ears flattened against her head and she'd grip her arm tightly. She didn't want to go back into the tome; it was hell in there. She wasn't sure if she could stand being in it for a long period of time or any for that matter.
"F-fine..."
Even though it was just overnight, the scratching, the words and such made it impossible for the renamon to get a good night's rest. She maybe got an hour or two of sleep and would look terrible in comparison to how she went in. Her fur was sticking up in some places, her pupils were dilated and she'd be shivering. She wouldn't even say a word to those that were around her either...

"Good, good... and don't worry! When you have our trust, we won't have to resort to this any longer." Perceivable, so long as K had nothing to hide, there would be no reason to repeat this process too many times... but the effect was already visible on the Renamon. After one mere night inside the tome, well, K looked much worse for wear.
Fur standing up in places? Shivering? Eyes flickering in place? Brought to work in the medical tent, this would have undoubtedly affected her work - and a mere half-hour into her shift, after what would have been her third missed vein of the day, the Angewomon's focus was brought on her. From behind, the angel would move to grasp the fox by the scruff of her fur, and stare at her eye-to-eye.
"You the same fox? Get your act together, or we'll find a role much more suiting of your current performance."
With that, she'd be dropped right back into line, with her first and last warning. But, a thought... what if the Wisemon would hear about that? Just how much more of this could she take?
In all, perhaps this was just spinning out of control...

"I... wait..."
She didn't like the idea of having to do this multiple times just to prove herself. She very much doubted that she could stand too many more of the venture into those tomes. The night had been harsh on her that much could be certain. She'd grip her muzzle tightly and let out a slow shivering breath.
It was hard to do this sort of work in this condition but she certainly tried her best. Shaky hands and shivering body as she was still trying to work through her own problem. She wasn't doing any better by the time that Angewoman's focus was brought upon her; she'd sharply inhale when picked up by the scruff. Was it wisemon again?
No this time it was much rougher and the renamon was at least allowed a shaky but somewhat relieved exhalation. No it was just the Angewoman berating her for... A role more suited to her current performance. Her eyes dilated severely quickly and she'd shake her head after she had been dropped. A hand dragged itself through her fur and she'd find these thoughts invading and it only made it worse for her. She managed to continue her work, though there were a couple times where she worried that she messed up but thankfully that was no tthe case. No hammer came down on her, no person grabbed her again.
She didn't want to go back into there, she didn't want the wisemon to have to use this as an excuse for putting her in there again. The renamon rubbed her temples softly and exhaled as she exited the tent. She was still shivering, her fur was still standing on end in places...
"Ugh... That was less than desirable..."

K had every right to be afraid when she exited the tent. Where was the Wisemon? When would she be pulled out of line? Would she even be let out again in the next morning?
Perhaps all of these questions swirled around in her head... but the moment she exited the tent, in line with all of the other medics, she'd find the camp in disarray. They hadn't been attacked, no, but the higher angels and more prominent figures were darting around:
"Not over here, sir!"
"Damn it, he couldn't have gotten far!"
"Find him, then! That damn wizard has to learn this isn't a game!"
The Wisemon had abandoned the camp? The lower members around mostly had their heads down, but were noticeably fewer, some having thought to escape in the confusion. But unfortunately, that wouldn't have been an option for the Renamon, the MagnaAngemon quickly cutting across to ask:
"You there! Any clue where he could have gone? You were one of the last to see him!"
