The Olympos XII is an elite group of powerful Digimon, rivaling the Royal Knights and Demon Lords in strength and ability. As the name implies, there are twelve Digimon that hold a seat in the group. However, there have been Digimon associated with the group that were otherwise rejected. The most well-known of the group is Plutomon, rejected by Jupitermon for his violent, overly cruel and overzealous methods of punishing evil. However, there is another that has lost out on becoming a member despite her history - Discordiamon.
Discordiamon, like the members of the Olympos XII, is a Mega Level Digimon and is a "God Man" Type. Despite being a Virus Attribute Digimon, she is not evil, merely meddlesome, troublesome, bothersome, and tricky. Unfortunately for many, due to her Level and scale of trouble, she can be quite dangerous. After all, her title as the "Goddess of Strife" is quite accurate.
Like most of the Olympos XII, and like the other famous rejected member Plutomon, she has a mostly human shape. She appears as a tall woman with a lean figure and slightly red-tinged skin. She is well-endowed, though not nearly at the level of Mervamon. This goddess's body is robed in a purple dress, though the bottom of it is torn off at the legs and various slashes are all through it. Her hair is an ornate mess of blond braids. The top of her face was covered with a purple coyote mask, although the left side of it is heavily damaged and cracked. Out of her back sprouts two huge monarch butterfly wings, though again, the left wing is torn up. These wings allow her to unleash the Butterfly Effect attack, a flap of her wings changing the air current to make a whirling vortex of razor wind a few moments later. Her purple boots also have monarch butterfly wings on the sides. The back of her hands and arms are protected by half-gauntlets that end in ornamental claws. While these could potentially increase the damage of striking attacks, she has none, and they are mostly decorative.
She once had a chance to join the Olympos XII but caused many arguments. She pointed out the flaws of each member, made seemingly innocent remarks about each Digimon's philosophy that opened schisms between the members, and overall broke down the group dynamics. They decided there was no place for Strife in the Olympos XII.
Upon being rejected, she appeared to keep her calm and leave with grace. However, she left behind a golden apple with Digicode reading [To the fairest/most beautiful] engraved in it and one stating [To the strongest], in places that Jupitermon and Junomon would find them. These were part of one of her techniques: Temptation Apple. They radiated a strange energy that amplified pride, vanity, and envy. This caused severe infighting before they realized what had happened, and they destroyed the apples. They have never been able to prove she was the one to have done this, however, she is still banned from the group because of this. She is also believed to have started a war with a similar Apple, or caused the generals of another army in another war to delete themselves out of shame, though no proof exists of either of these events.
Due to her wielding pride and envy as weapons, Discordiamon decided to consult with an incarnation of two of the Seven Great Demon Lords - Lucemon and Leviamon. She asked the two which was stronger and more useful. This sparked a long debate, Lucemon's pride making him think he was right, and Leviamon's envy causing his arguments to devolve into anger and jealousy. Thus, in this incarnation of the Seven Great Demon Lords, Lucemon was seen as the greater of the two, while Discordiamon learned that both can be useful as a positive and as a negative.
Her brand of Strife could both be destructive - turning friend against friend, family member against family member - or constructive -giving craftsmen pride over their work and envy of others, causing them to be competitors and thus increasing the overall value and quality of their works.
In order to try to get herself back in with the Olympos XII, she supposedly tricked some of the best blacksmiths in the world into challenging Volcanusmon in making the ultimate weapon. According to legend, she secretly helped the blacksmiths, and whenever they would start worrying that they would lose or that they shouldn't compete against a member of the Olympos XII, she would boost their pride and envy to spur them on further. She would also find some of the best and rarest metals and give them to both sides - aiding both Volcanusmon and the blacksmiths. In the end, the blacksmiths lost, but Volcanusmon was pushed further than he has been before and created one of his masterpieces. Discordiamon tried to convince Volcanusmon that she had helped, but he refused to listen.
Another legend claims that an enemy of the Olympos XII was either too insignificant for them to fight or possibly too important to delete. Maybe protected by laws, maybe was just spouting heated words of hate towards them instead of being a threat. Discordiamon was said to have seen her chance to ingratiate herself with the group. She was said to have covered the house where that Digimon lived with the Mists of Strife, making it hard for him to see, while also inflicting confusion and paranoia upon him. She taunted him from seemingly everywhere, causing him to lash out at everything - and everyone. Some say she was unaware that the Digimon had family with him. Others say this was part of her plan. They too were affected by the Mists of Strife, causing them to fight each other as if they were enemies for they could not see each other or who each other was, and were filled with distrust and confusion. By the time the mists cleared, only the enemy of the Olympos XII stood, in his ruined home, next to two eggs. Discordiamon "just happened to hear his lamentations" and visited the Digimon. Upon confessing his sins, she places a hand on his shoulder as if to comfort him. Instead, she unleashes the Betrayal Fang, a dark dagger that deals devestating damage when used from behind, to delete him. Having "punished evil", she was sure the Olympos XII would let her in.
They did not.
Over time, her attempts to join the Olympos XII and her revenge tactics dwindled, until she has seemingly vanished. Has she finally accepted her rejection? Has she been simply planning a greater revenge? Did she find a group that she fit in, and is sticking to her inner circle? Or has she truely disappeared? Anyone who truly knows is not coming forward, and those claiming to know seem to be insane.
There are a few temples and shrines here and there that appear to be in tribute to Discordiamon, though many of them also appear to be intentionally destroyed. All of them bear this mark )|( which represents the Hand of Eris - both a symbol on her left hand and her most straightforward attack, a beam of corrupted data out of said mark. There are also statues of her, and of what appear to be 'Real World' coyotes and butterflies. Within one of the temples was found various objects with no seeming connection to each other, just completely random junk. Whether this was a trash disposal area for the temple, an offering pit, or an act of vandalism is unknown. Upon one of the destroyed temples is a worn mural depicting a giant egg being tended to by what appears to be some form of Taomon and a four-winged fairy digimon of some sort.
There are many more stories than facts about Discordiamon, but they all add up to a Digimon that - while not truly evil - has an odd morality and chaotic nature, bringing strife wherever she went. Sometimes good has come from her, sometimes terrible destruction. Where she is now and how much is true, we may never know.
