It was somewhere on the spring, but getting closer to the summer. While the breeze was still merciful, a lot of kids is playing in the park. Some people also used the chance to go on a date... and another, like this one girl, just enjoying their time reading a book in the weekend. Library might be a good place, but she was attuned more to the nature, thus enjoy being in the park more than the library. Today, she brought a copy of a high fantasy slash science fiction novel which has yet translated to Japanese. She did this also to train her English knowledge. Sure it might not be so popular back home, but she felt if she want to be a nurse, all sort of widely used language is a must.
"..."
...But the girl had no idea that she's not alone. Behind a tree, fluffy light orange furred creature is looking at her general direction. Her small size make it so easy for her to hide. That and the green fabric that covered her made it like she's a tiny bush.
"...Mei..."
The Meicoomon is obviously partnered to the human, yet the human had no idea of this. Their routine is pretty much the same. For seven years, she has stalked her partner, knowing every single thing about her, and how she wanted to cheer her but can't. Why? Because she's too shy! The Meicoomon honestly desire nothing but to nap on her partner's lap while given a little gentle scratches here and there, especially under the chin! But what would she feel if she somehow approached her? She know that cats aren't supposed to talk, nor they have feelers, nor they have crossed pupils. But even so...
"...Mei..."
She really want to get closer to this person who's destined to be with her. Her patience is growing thin.

Haru was really just not feeling up to things these past few days. Ever since she came back home from the Digital World recently, she had been somewhat gun-shy when it came to talking about or even thinking about it.
After what happened back at the Village of Beginnings... well, maybe it was for the best. None of her other friends even knew about that dreadful experience at safest place on Earth with the exception of the good doctor, and the only other person she could talk to was choosing to stay in the Digital World... away from her.
Frankly, Haru forgot how miserable it was just being alone again... She actually genuinely missed the freaky cat, but she still had a lot of baggage relating to just whom and what her partner was.
It wasn't every day after all you learn your best friend is more or less part of a race of digital, furry locust.
At this point, Haru was just relieved to have a moment to just sit down and quietly think to herself. The gogglehead was currently resting by a picnic bench, briefly looking at her phone with her D-Arc laid out on the table... its signal pointing to where partner was pointing straight towards Central Shibuya, a sign that her partner was likely still in the Digital Worl with that... that Meicoomon.
The girl's eyes lazily drifted around the park, glancing first at the clouds hanging overhead... then to the few people at the park today. There really were not many visitors today, and were it not for Haru spotting something somewhat orange-looking with the shade maybe two dozen or so meters away, she'd have probably gone back to moping... but for a moment she thought she saw a Meicoomon.
Question was... was it even HER Meicoomon?

"Mei..."
The Meicoomon wondered if this is a nice place for first meeting. She have heard the now and then 'rumor' about the DATS, who was apparently very anti Digimon entering the real world. They'd be sent back... and it's getting really worrying. But when she tried to go there, apparently the building was pretty much abandoned. Rather than any agents, it's more to people who thought she's stray cat that's chasing her. But that's fine. Nothing is too much of a hurdle if it's for Mei!
The Meicoomon's green eyes watched at what sort of people are nearby that might see her and ring an alarm. Let's see... there are kids playing ball, a lovers on the opposite end, near a tree and... huh? That girl with goggle seem to notice her. That one is the most dangerous huh... Is she a sleeper agent? That was close that was close. The Meicoomon quickly pulled over her green coat to make it easier for her to blend in. Let's do this... while she's looking away!
Some littering human apparently tossed a water bottle with the cap to the trash bin but missed. Right! Time to fill this with water! The coon was enough, and covered by the drinking fountain. She filled the bottle with water until near full, then close it with the cap. Then, she prick a hole on the cap with her claw. This is near summer, so it won't be surprising that there are cicadas right?
She quickly jumped toward the tree near the lovers and climbed it fast enough. to obscure herself.
"...Miin miin miiiin," she mimicked the sound of cicadas. It was not a poor impersonation, but it's definitely sounds different if you heard it right. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case with the lovers. She quickly squeezed the bottle enough for water to came out and now hitting the couple.
"GYAA, WHAT'S THIS!? CICADA'S PEE!?"
...Success. They're leaving after kicking the tree. Now that leave the kids... and the sleeper agent...(?)

For a moment Haru was unsure if what she was seeing was actually a Meicoomon... it could have been just some fat cat orange cat or something. She squinted slightly to see if maybe her eyes were just playing tricks on her... but then again, they were standing on two legs. Yeeeeah, that kinda was a huge sign that maybe they weren't just some regular orange cat...?
Oh crap... it was on the move now?! Least it had the decency to try and cover itself so it wasn't just easily recognizable as a Digimon to regular people. Crap... what was it even doing now though?
What was seriously with these damn cats...? And of course, it had to be a time without her own damn cat.
Haru managed to get herself up from the table she was at, staring in mild disbelief from a distance the small Digimon... operating a water fountain? Okay, maybe that wasn't so bad... Lot of worse things she could think of a Meicoomon doing.
The girl sighed in relief as she sat herself back down, not exactly caring to try and bother the feline Digimon. As long as they kept to themself, she had no beef wit- oh good it just scared a couple away.
Haru let out an irritated sigh, shaking her head as she got herself back up. This really was just going to be one of those days, wasn't it?

Now there's this question of how to shoo the kids that's playing the ball without possibly popping their ball or do something that can make them cry? The answer is stil the bottle, but... to use this sort of method, she'll need a pump, which is probably not the answer. Hmmm... kicking the ball to the other direction? She's not in favor for hurting anyone, or hurt their feeling. That was why before she was just squirting the two lovers with water. It was harmless, and only a mid annoyance at best. Meanwhile, this...
"...Nya..."
The Meicoomon slowly climbed down the tree and started to think what might make the kids want to go away. That was when she found pair of shoes coated in mud... Ah right! Treasure hunt! It took a bit of preparation, but she started writing in a piece of paper. Granted, her handwriting is really bad, but with this and the bottle... She put in the roll of the "treasure map" in the bottle and tosses it to the fountain, loud enough that it caught the kids' attention. She set the destination to be in less crowded (but still the park area's) part of the park as the target of the big fat X. The moment they noticed that it's a fake, they'll most likely return or go home, but there will be no danger to them...
...But now how to deal with this one girl who's obviously not happy with what she's doing?
"...Mei..."
Meicoomon attempted to hide between the trees for now. She might unable to see her like this.
...Her fault though, is the fact that she's carrying her partner's Digivice.

Haru was taking great care to try and keep an eye on that Meicoomon, but damn thing was way too freakin' fast... Even just tracking it was a difficult task due to their small size and speed.
What even was that cat doing? IT seemed liked they were going around trying to... scare off everyone else away? It seemed as if they were going around the park with that purpose, doing small things to get rid of everyone... First scaring off that couple, then... was that a map in a bottle she just dropped to those kids?
She had to give credit that they were being very meticulous about driving people away... but that now just left her and what seemed to be some black-haired girl reading a book. Though still, what were they planning...?
At this point, Haru was not sure if she'd have wanted to try and call in backup from maybe anyone in the Digital Field Club... She kinda was lacking the means to handle any Digimon right now, so she'd have needed outside help.
Pulling out her phone, Haru immediately began trying to texting on the Field Club's LINE account.
Leadhead Gogglehead: hey guyz, theres a meicoomon just kinda wandering around here in miyashita park. Any1 able 2 come? i wanna make sure doesn't do something dangerous

It had been…a rather busy time for Carlos and Dio. Both man and digimon still felt sore after that wild hunt they had been a part of a day ago, not to mention that whole…”incident” they had dealt with the week prior, they figured it was now that they both had a well deserved rest from all the physical and mental exhaustion. Which of course meant staying at the man’s apartment with nothing but games, food, and old movies of varying quality.
Luckily for the imp’s sanity, this time they were actually watching a proper movie and not the sort of exploitation nonsense Carlos enjoyed so much for some reason. Something about some Usual Criminals? The Same Suspects? Frankly, Dio didn’t quite remember the title, as he was too focused on trying to follow the slightly slow moving plot.
Needless to say, the impatient would be Demon Lord was not amused by the movie’s supposed slow pacing.
“Guh, this movie is dumb, why do they keep hiding Keyser Söze’s face? I just want to know how he looks, damn it!” He demanded, throwing his arms up in the air in annoyance.
“Dude, just wait it out, there’s a reason for it.” Carlos said for what was probably the third time in the movie, and would have said more, had it not been for the fact his cellphone let out a small blip like sound. It seemed someone at the Club’s LINE chat was talking. Against his better instinct, the man decided to take a look, in case it was something actually important and not just another meme.
Much to his surprise, it was a message from Haru requesting assistance on the park. Apparently there was another digimon roaming the place and she wanted help taking care of it. The part that made alarms ring in the man’s mind was reading what kind of digimon it was. A Meicoomon.
“Another one…?” He muttered, sounding honestly dumbfounded. Just how many of them were suddenly popping up? Maybe the dwellers of the Digital World were right, and they were a plague of locusts. Regardless, the man felt the urge to go and help Haru with it. He could make it there quickly, the park was only about some blocks away from his apartment. It was then that he noticed his partner’s concerned look, however.
“Something the matter?” Dio asked, sounding both curious and worried over the man’s expression. Carlos bit his lip a bit. He wasn’t quite sure on the Impmon’s general opinion about Meicoomon’s as of past events, but Carlos still decided to be honest with him this time.
“Yeah its Haru, she said she saw a digimon in the park. It's...another Meicoomon.”
“I…see.” The imp said, with a somewhat sad sounding sigh. Just the reaction Carlos expected really, and couldn’t blame the small rookie for having. It had been a bit too soon since that other incident.
“Hey.” He reached out with a hand, gently patting Dio’s shoulde. “If you don’t want to go that’s fine, you know, I’m sure someone else will show up.” He reassured him with a smile. He wanted to go and help, but wasn’t about to put his partner through an uncomfortable moment because of it either.
“No, it’s fine. I’ll manage. Let’s just go help that goggle head.” Dio replied, getting down from the couch, making his way for the man’s backpack. He turned around at the last moment however, with a grin. “Owe me extra bacon for dinner for this, though.”
Carlos shook his head with an amused smile. “Sure, bacon for the bacon lord.”
Well, it was good to see he was at least trying to keep his spirits up, despite everything. The young man grabbed his cell, and send out a simple response before heading out.
C.King.: kk we’re on the way, plz dont do anythin dangerous
A couple minutes later, the man had already made his way to the park, backpack in tow with the head of a holosuited Dio popping out from it. It was easy enough for the two of them to find Haru standing in the middle of the park, thanks in no small part to the fact that the place seemed…rather empty today.
The man quickly approached the goggle headed girl, waving.
“Hey Haru, we got here as fast as we could.”

Seeing that the gogglehead bring more companion made the Meicoomon hisses in frustration. Why would these people call another guy? What is she, some sort of criminal? She's heavily pressed for time, and honestly she cannot really risk to stall the time any longer, mainly because the kids would return soon. Is there is any way to reach Mei without alerting these two people?
...Oh drats, one of them got Digimon with them... Or is it? She can't tell, but whatever. Time to execute operation meltdown. She need to do this or she will lose her chance forever. The Meicoomon pulled her green cape closer to her, camouflaging. And with that being said, she slowly slipped toward the girl reading the book.
"...Mei..."
AND SWIPED HER BOOKMARKER!
"Ah, hey!"
Undoubtedly the girl looked a bit panicked. The Meicoomon know that the said bookmarker is an important bookmarker from the girl's grandmother. Acting catlike, she turned around to make the girl aware that she have it. She carried it splendidly like a cat. Now she just need to steer her away from these annoying people! She hate to be hostile, but this is the important first meeting she have with her partner, so she won't let these people disturb it. She shot a warning glare, one that might be misinterpreted as something else.
Unfortunately she had no idea of this.
With the black haired girl on following her, she headed toward the deeper part of the park, covered by trees. An ideal place to have one on one talk.

Haru really was not getting what this Meicoomon's intentions were going around scaring off folks... What were they even trying to do? Haru was just trying to keep a mildly close distance to keep track of the maine coon without perhaps earning it's rage... They didn't seem hostile, but she did not want to push her luck without someone to back her up... Fortunately, help came by quick as the tanned man (and his ever-trustworthy fiendish friend disguised as simple cat) soon popped up a short bit later... Haru sighing in relief.
"Oh man... Sorry to ask this at such short notice, but you probs know Tawna's on... a vacation back in the Digital World." she ended up thanking her fellow club member (admittingly needing to catch herself as she had yet told anyone as to why Tawna was awol at the moment). Nonetheless, maybe now with an actual Digimon on their side they could perhaps get this lil' situation under contr-
Haru wasn't the only one to get caught off-guard... the hell did that cat steal just not from that girl over there? Well, it wasn't like she had a chance to ask... cause the victim was already making a sprint after the Meicoomon, and feline was making a break towards the denser-forested section of the park. In a way, both good AND bad... cause who knows what could happen in there if that Meicoomon got threatened?
It may have been cute and fluffy, but there is no mistaking that Meicoomon were naturally a Champion level Digimon, and quite dangerous if you got on their bad side. Nonetheless, plenty of reason to go after "H-Hey! Wait up!" she yelled out to the girl chasing after the Meicoomon, giving an unsure glance towards Carlos and Dio before heading off after the thief and victim.

“Eh, it’s no biggie, we weren’t doing anything important.” Carlos shrugged with a smile. Truth be told, even if they had been doing something important, he would have probably tried to find a way to come and help his friend out. While he momentarily quirked an eyebrow at her mention of Tawna being on vacation (since he didn’t remember anyone mentioning anything of the sort on the group’s chat), he didn’t ask further questions, partly because this wasn’t exactly the best moment to catch up, partly because he was quickly interrupted by his partner chiming in.
“You mean other than the fact that we were watching a good movie for once in a life time? You’re right, nothing important.” The small monarch sarcastically remarked, rolling his eyes a bit as he did so. While he was still partially annoyed over missing the movie’s ending (seemingly unaware they could simply watch it again when they returned to the apartment), truth be told he didn’t mind coming along to help out Haru, having warmed up to her considerably along the past weeks.
“So where’s the…” Carlos found his question inmediatelly answered, as the Meicoomon quite abruptly appeared and stole…something from some girl, before running at a breakneck speed further into the park, the girl running after it. “…never mind, there it is. Shit.”
Well, so much for this being easy.
“Dio, after her!” Carlos said, as he began running behind Haru too.
“Yeah, I’m on it.” The imp-disguised-as-cat replied, leaping out of the man’s backpack, quickly running after the other cat. He would have rather having to pursue the other cat without being confined to his holosuit, but the least attention they brought to themselves the better. At the very least, being this small meant he could pursue the orange furball faster and better than any of the humans.
“Stop there, fleabag! The Dark Lord demands you to stop!” He demanded, clearly too caught up trying to catch Mei to even bother about anyone else hearing him.

The chase continues. The Meicoomon on the front being chased by three human and one Digimon in holosuit. Mei who honestly wondered what's going on and why this cat takes interest in her bookmarker cannot do much but to chase after her. Thank goodness for being a mountain raised girl though. Her stamina is quite high. Albeit, honestly this dress is not suited for running. She kind of regretting picking this long skirt today. At any rate, she can't lose the bookmarker! That's too impo--- wait did the cat just talked!?
"EEP!"
The sudden cat talk moment made the girl tripped on her own skirt. It was a splendid fall, complete with her glasses flung several meters ahead. Mei who too shocked at the strange occurrence wondered if she's dreaming or something. It can't be something like Alice in Wonderland! Plus the fall hurts! So that means she's not dreaming! Just what... what happened?
"Mei!" seeing the girl fell, the Meicoomon immediately did a sharp turn, kicking a nearby tree to start her dash. Her expression showed how much she cared for the girl. She quickly faced Dio head on, then attempted to slap one of her feeler at him in a 'don't you dare stop me' action. Even if he dodged, she doesn't care. Her focus now is to grab the glasses, and affixes it to her partner's face once again.
"...Mei..."
"Huh?"
All of this is strange for the young lady, who stared at the orange catlike creature that seemingly intelligent enough to put on her glasses back to her face. On top of it, this cat is bipedal, and she returned her bookmarker to her. She had no idea what to say, only the fact that it seem this cat want something from her.
"Gomennya..." the Meicoomon apologized.
At first, the girl was silent. Meicoomon think it's normal. After all, it's not everyday that you saw talking cat(s). That and the fact that she might be a bit too sudden in her approach... Mei did really bad, huh. She made Mei shocked. This is not good. The Meicoomon's ears drooped in a moment of regret.
*pon*
Suddenly the bespectacled girl flicked the cat Digimon's forehead! Ah, Mei really did bad huh? was what the Meicoomon thought when she did it, but soon her partner's caring, warm hand gently strokes the point of impact. Her ears perked up, wondering what just happened so she deserved that gentle pat on the head.
"Stealing is bad yanno? Ya shouldn't done that. But ya know that's a bad thing and ya apologized, so it's all good. But don't do it again, alright?"
"...Mei... Meeei!"
The Meicoomon hugged her partner close. Yes, after seven years, she finally could touch her, her one and only special person, her destined human... This is Mei. Even after she parted with the mountain of Tottori, she still smells like their backyard. It calms her down. However, after she remembered the fact that they're not alone, the Meicoomon ruffled her furs like a cat trying to be imposing and hissed at the newcomers.

If there was one good thing about once being a track runner for her school, it was that Haru was able to pretty easily keep up with the chase. Helped that all the stuff she has experienced in the Digital World has been forcing her to stay fit... Nothing like the fear of life or death to get the blood pumping!
Oh goddammit... Did Dio just talk out loud? Already this was gonna be a mess to explain to the fallen girl, but now they were going to need to help her ba-
Wait... did the Meicoomon just stop and turn around to... help the girl? Haru's own pace running paused as she watched the scene unfold. To her surprise, the girl actually seemed to take the feline Digimon's theft of her belonging pretty well... and frankly, the Meicoomon seemed absolutely thrilled to bits that they were receiving the attention they did.
Haru's eyes widened as she realized that this wasn't some stray Digimon... they had to have been actually a partner Digimon of this girl! Not that everything was a completely smooth turn of events... The fluffier than normal Meicoomon gave they one hell of a stink eye, even hissing at them!
Of course, this wasn't Haru's first time dealing with unruly cats at least... If she could deal with Tawna, she could deal with any other Meicoomon! "Hey, don't you hiss at me! You were doing a lot of weird stuff back there, and I have all the all the right to step in!" the black-haired girl scoffed, placing her hands at her side as she judgementally stared at the feline, though turned their attention to the girl now. "Yo, you alright...?"

Even as they chased them down, Carlos could help but facepalm at his partner’s complete lack of subtlety and tact. Was it really so hard for the imp to stay quiet while he was disguised? They were already making enough fuzz as they were.
Ironically though that would actually play in their favor, as the sheer surprise from hearing a cat speak was enough to make the other girl trip, which then caused the Meicoomon to swift turn to help out the girl. Welp, maybe his partner had the right idea for once?
Admittedly, Dio should have expected some sort of response from the cat. But he certainly did not expect Mei to quickly turn herself around and run in the opposite direction, whisking right past him while delivering a rather painful slap with her feelers to the Dark Lord’s face. Even if she was holding back it was a Champion level attacking a Rookie, the difference in power was noticeable, and hurt. Especially as the hit made Dio lose his balance for a moment, sending him tumbling head first into a tree.
“Well crap.” Even as the chase came to a stop, the man ran past the other three, immediately going for his own partner, carefully picking the black cat up with a worried look on his face. “Dude, you’re ok? That looked painful.”
“Tch, I’m fine.” He replied sounding more annoyed than pained. Truth be told, his pride was more hurt than his head. As they returned with Haru and the two new…partners, it seemed, Dio was quick to reciprocate the hissing with some growling of his own, clearly still offended over that slap.
“Hey, easy now, we don’t mean you any guys any harm.” Carlos said, holding his free palm out to the hissing digimon in a sign of peace, just to make it perfectly clear they were not the Meicoomon’s enemies unless it decided to attack.

The Meicoomon still gave stink eyes toward the trio. To her, they're almost the same as the shelter catchers around there, one that would separate her from her beloved Mei. This holosuited Digimon also dared to try to growl at her!? Oh the nerves! The Meicoomon raises her posture so she's looking even bigger, feelers ready to slap in case this one cat dared to move. Only when Mei pat her head that she stopped.
"It's OK, you can calm down now... Are you afraid? Did they scare you?"
"...Un."
"Well, then, everyone, can I ask for a lil' bit more of a room? You there, stop your growling, please. Being hostile in return won't do. First of all, I don't know who started this, but if you threaten a scared person who's ready to toss down everything for self defense, that only will make it even worse. So please drop your hostility," with her tone even, the bespectacled girl pleaded the holosuit Digimon and his companion.
"...Now, uhm..." after all that tense moment gone, the girl seem to slink back into her shy self. "Ah, I hope that wasn't too much. First and foremost, I'm sorry for this one's mischievousness... and yes, I'm alright. Um... I think we're fine now, but why exactly are you... chasing her?"
"Mei did bad..."
"Hmn? Did bad?"
"She chased out some people to talk with Mei. Mei just want to talk to Mei... Want to... hug Mei. Want to be together with Mei... Mei... waited for seven years. Mei cannot hold it any longer. Mei just want to be with Mei..."
...It sure is gotten confusing considering that the cat-like Digimon refers herself as 'Mei' and the girl herself is named Mei.
"Alright, so... Mei-chan, why do you waited for seven ye--wait, you were there back then when I was still at Tottori?"
"Un. Mei... spent seven years here... Mei know that she is destined to be Mei's partner..." the Digimon took out a white, tiny device that seem to be a Digivice from a small waist pouch. "But Mei is too shy. Mei don't want Mei to hate her. That's why, Mei... Mei decided to wait. Mei did everything she could so Mei doesn't get hurt. Mei kept watching over Mei... what Mei likes, what Mei dislikes, what is Mei's hobby... Mei knows almost everything. But Mei is too scared. What would Mei think of a talking cat?"
...Indeed, she got a point there.The bespectacled girl mused slightly.
"...Looks like you guys know what she is, can you explain more about this to me? Maybe we should... see if we can go to a less crowded place? Considering that it's seem everything is hush hush..."

There was certainly still a level of tenseness in the air with how the Digimon were acting, though least Carlos and the girl were willing to cooperate and broker a sense of peace. She could only imagine how this girl was feeling, cause it was clear that the way they were interacting with the Meicoomon was their first time meeting properly. Honestly... it reminded Haru of her own first time meeting her partner, albeit Tawna being way more grumpy and prickly than this Meicoomon. "It's okay... Take your time. We're just here to make sure nothing goes wrong."
Turns out, her suspicions WERE correct... the girl was this Meicoomon's tamer, and the feline Digimon had been waiting for a SEVEN whole set of years. Yeesh... that beat Tawna's stalking her by a whole 6 years! No wonder they were Champion level then... certainly better than the... other possible alternative. Still, they didn't seem bad at all... even if the manner they spoke was confusing. Was her name Mei, or was the girl's name Mei? Damn it, how confusing...
Haru took a deep breath to collect her thoughts, giving Mei (the human one specifically) a gentle smile. This certainly wasn't the best place to talk about this kinda stuff, so it was certainly in their best interest to find somewhere more secluded. "We do know a lot about your new friend here...
