Muddy terrain, muddy terrain! What was Amelie gonna do about Talia's question? She's definitely not a good liar, and guessing where this would head to wasn't very hard to discern. However, there was something the brunette had to ask herself before answering. What would make feel Talia worse, the fact that she withdrew information from her when she eventually finds out that, or... coming off clean?
It was definitely something that couldn't be answered easily; heck, was she sweating at the moment? This wasn't good...
"Okay, I'll come off clean, but... try to not be too mad with him, okay?" No matter what, the blonde wasn't going to be too enthused about it, but there was no harm in trying, was it? "The club is comprised... mostly by girls. Not counting digimons, we're six girls and Carlos. I really can't say if we're cute or not, and he hasn't mentioned he has a girlfriend, but as far as I know, he hasn't tried to hit on any of us, at least as far as I know! He's just a really nice guy! Besides, while I, uh..." She couldn't but make an awkward pause. Was this treading in the territory of too much information? She had no idea. "I'm aware that at least two or members don't really... swing that way, you know? So, at least you're safe regarding them!"
Yup, as smooth as a crash between two school buses. Way to go, Amelie! She really hoped her new friend wouldn't take the blow too badly, or that she was potentially ruining what looked like a healthy relationship, but if she knew something, it was that lies, while convenient at first, tended to be really damaging once the dust settled. So probably it was for the best, at least in the long term? Amy could guess that Talia would be at least a little mad, to say the least.
Buuut, that was just one concern. The other was the big dragon with corrosive saliva that was petting them as if they were gerbils. Which, probably... wasn't that far from the truth. Trying to not pay too much mind to it, instead, she looked at the team comprised of the digimons, and then nodded. "Well, what if you guys have the first move? Then Talia and me; the first game doesn't count because it's probably gonna be a demonstration of sorts, but what if... whoever wins the second game gets the last batch of deviled eggs? Is that fair to you?"
After all, games were more interesting when there was something on the line!

“Hey, earth to Talia! Talia? Did you turn into a fish or something?” It sounded random but Tohru had seen on the television that many fish slept with their eyes open because they didn’t have eyelids. “I think she broke, fix her Tohru! Fix herrrr!” Who else was gonna tuck Simba in at night, or make him pork cutlets? While she was a great sister, Tohru wasn’t exactly the maternal type. “Tch, she’s not one of your toys Simba, you can’t just change the batteries!” Hardly processing her snark, the small dragon continued to poke at the seemingly catatonic blonde, though in reality she was just trying to stay silent in order to mentally process what Amelie had just told her.
See, whether or not those things the other woman had attempted to dispute were true or not, Talia didn’t have any reason to believe what this woman was saying based on the fact that they’d known one another for hardly an hour, so while she wanted to believe what this seemingly nice woman was telling her, it just wasn’t in the cards for her synapses to take in that way right now, just like how she wanted to believe that Carlos would never cheat on her, but between her own emotional cynicism and the evidence stacked against the man - seriously, what girl wouldn’t be suspicious if her boyfriend was the only man in a group of ALL women? Was he suddenly some kind of new age digital Hugh Hefner?
“I won't lie, don’t know if I can believe that, but it’s definitely not you I’m mad at or anything, I don’t want a stupid boy getting in the way of me making a new friend.” Stupid Carlos and her stupid feelings, she was so mad in fact that she decided on the spot she wouldn’t bother looking for him here, he was probably too busy with his pack of women. “Yeah! Don’t let stupid boys get you down Talia.” Even though she didn’t really get what was going on, Tohru couldn’t help but chime in since she was always on Talia’s side nonetheless. “Hey! I’m a boy and I’m not stupid...I think?” Was Simba a boy? The concept of gender was sort of foreign and confusing to the dragon since it didn’t really exist in the digital world. He definitely had the personality characteristics of one, but was that the only prerequisite needed for someone to be considered a boy or a girl?
“Perfect! Humans against digimon.” Plus they had a megidramon on their side, how could they possibly lose? “Yay deviled eggs! Ow!” The rabbit smacked her brother on the head. “Focus! We won’t win if you just think about food.” And in typical Simba fashion he took the suggestion literally, posing as a puppy would in a playbow. “Yeah yeah, gotta focus! Those deviled eggs are gonna be mine.” Sigh, she could try right? “So who should go first - uhhh.” Megidramon had growled as if saying she was going first, not in a ‘can I go first’ way but in a ‘I am going first and there’s no other option’ sort of manner. The dragon, who had started to set up the cubes, motioned to the other two. “She wants us to help put the game pieces together!”

Well, if there was one feeling that was at the forefront of Amelie's thought at the moment, that was regret. Her words had undoubtedly caused a commotion on Talia's mind, even though she had done her best at softening the blow, it didn't take a genius to know that she had dun goofed. Was this going to be the end of their friendship? It was a very real possibility, and one that frankly... scared Amelie a bit.
"I screwed up, didn't I?" She asked after her acquaintance finally spoke again. Talk about obvious questions. "It's fine. You don't have to believe if you don't want to; I'd have my doubts if I were you too. Guess the best you can do in order to clear your mind of those thoughts is just going by yourself and... finding out. Or having a nice, long chat with Carlos. Because that sounds like something that will cause a fair bit of issues in the future if left unattended."
It was something they'd have to solve by themselves if they wanted to continue having a healthy relationship. Amelie wasn't an expert by any measure of the word, but she knew more than well insidious jealousy could be when dealing with a relationship. "I'm glad that you're willing to give me the benefit of doubt, at least. Better if we just don't think about that for the time being. Especially when we're gonna do something way funnier, right?"
And that's why she decided to focus on the game instead. That would probably divert some of the anger that Talia was undoubtedly feeling at the moment. Amy gazed at the three digimons, who apparently were going to make the first move! "Well, whoever moves, good luck!"
She'd wait patiently until they made their move, but that was probably not going to take much; after all, in games like these, first moves were always quick, right?

“Nah don’t take it personally, Talia just gets really quiet when she’s deep in thought sometimes, she calls it “being in the zone”, which I think means really concentrated.” As much of a pain as her two could be at times, she’d admit it was sort of...nice to have someone connected who was willing to speak up for her in such a way, it seemed that the twins understood her better than anyone else, even more than some humans she’d known for longer, but then again this wasn’t your standard run of the mill sort of friendship. “We’re not supposed to bother Talia when she’s ‘in the zone’ but we like making sure she eats and sleeps, she forgets sometimes when she’s busy!”
The perks of living alone had meant that there was no one around to tell when it was time for a break or to remind her it was okay to take a nap, back then she could just work at her computer until she crashed and then wake up and start again. Now that circumstances had changed, it was a bit harder to have that kind of lifestyle, the woman now sharing her home with the two overprotective littleluns. “I even tried to make cereal once uhhh but kinda spilled the milk everywhere and now we’re not allowed to cook.” Tohru scoffed. “We? I was the one who told you to use a bowl instead of the bag it came in.” The filmsy plastic material didn’t hold liquid very well unfortunately. “Eh eh?! T-that was only because neither you or I could reach the bowls dodo!”
The zoned out blonde seemed to block out the twins banter as background chirping while continuing to remain in thought, deciding it would be best to listen to Amelie’s advice and cease to make any haste decisions regarding the boy right now. “You know, you’re right, I’m put it in the “I’ll deal with it later” file in my head. Boys are so meh aren’t they? They promise loyalty one second, but as soon as they see a pair of legs that’s nicer than yours the promise is off, it’s like their penises are their central control hub instead of their brains.” She gave the brunette a gentle shoulder pat, smiling reassuringly as if letting her know she thought she was alright. “But like you said, it’s not important now.”
Meanwhle, the digimon had started to move the game piece, rotating it until it showed their symbol, push it into its previous spot as per the spirit users instructions. “Do let know if we’re doing this correctly, we’ve played a few board games before!”

At least, it was a relief that Talia wasn't just considering in tearing her head off on that precise instant, Amelie had to admit. While totally justified an rational by this point, the stories of jealousy causing or ending up in a tragedy were not an uncommon occurrence, at least if the newspaper that the brunette usually read was anything to go by.
Sure, in this case, it would be a 'shoot the messenger' situation, since the closest the brunette had actually gotten to Carlos was asking him if they could play something together at some point with the rest of the group. But that was just a detail.
Natural conclusion was... nodding with a somewhat insecure smile at Tohru's words; considering her current state of mind, the teenager just hoped she wasn't imagining how to murder her in this instant and hide the body. Then again...
"Eating and sleeping are important." She idly remarked. How somebody could focus to that extent was slightly scary. "They're vital for a healthy life, as far as I am aware."
The adventures of the two had gone through in order to try and properly take care of their tamer was as heartwarming as it came. "You two really love her, don't you? Must feel nice, to know you have two beings as... dependable behind your back. Talia is really fortunate to have both of you, you know?"
Digimon partners were undoubtedly a precious thing, and something that made Amelie slightly jealous every now and then, even if right now thinking about that wasn't very becoming of her. Eventually, the blonde finally seemed to willingly break out from her reverie just to... wave her frustrations at Carlos, and boys in general. While not the optimal result, at least it was good enough to prompt a relieved sigh from Amy. That had been a close call.
"I wish I understood boys. They kinda... just not make sense to me, at times." Blushing a bit at how liberally Talia mentioned the male reproductive organ, she ultimately smiled and nodded. "I'm glad you think that way."
She wasn't super excited about what would happen to Carlos, but there wasn't much the brunette could do. Dude should've acted more responsibly if he didn't want what was coming for him to happen. Then again... 'Carlos' and 'Responsible' probably didn't belong in the same sentence unless a variant of 'not' was involved in it. Bottom line? Despite her being mostly nice, Talia could be really scary when she wanted to.
And now, the game was one! The first couple of moves wouldn't be all that meaningful, so... Amelie just gazed at Talia a bit, then at a piece opposite to the one the mons had just moved, silently gesturing that was the move she wanted to make. Up to her if she wanted to accept that suggestion or not.
"Yup, you're doing pretty well thus far!" This wasn't supposed to be a competition anyway, and as long as they played more or less by the rules, this would be a lot of fun!

“Without a doubt!” The commentary brought Talia back to what she’d wanted to know upon that day she’d met K in the park. “Partners always have eachothers backs.” What did this whole partnership mean and why she of all people had been chosen to be connected with these two - Talia wasn’t the kind of person who believed in fate nor friendships by proxy, so this was all still a little hard for her to process, that and she didn’t like not having answers or things not explained to her. “What does that mean anyway? Like did someone just show the two of you a picture of my face and tell you to find me?” If that was the case she was going to find this person and give them a lecture or two about snooping around on her site server. “No silly, we’ve always been meant for eachother! It was just a matter of you willing us to you.”
Alright Tohru, if you say so. It was still something, for the meanwhile, that Talia couldn’t wrap her head around and went against everything she believed in. “Eh, they’re not really worth the headache of trying to do so, you might just get grey hair and wrinkles trying.” The blonde smirked and nodded. “Of course! Sisters before misters, you know. I’m a total girls girl.” As she babbled, there was a pulling at her leg, Talia looking down to see Simba staring down at her. “I’m a Mister, right? Do I count?” The blonde laughed as she picked up the dragon. “Nah, you’re my best boy for sure silly, you’re a whole different kind of count.” The dragon made a sort of satisfied snicker and innocent cheshire cat grin with the knowledge that he was seemingly higher in the woman’s book than a human boy was, at least for the time being.
Since she was still fairly new at this game Talia made the move that Amelie suggested, pushing the cube into position. “And they always beat me too! But this time the tables’ll turn for sure, even if they have a giant dragon on their side!” A remark that promptly released a grunt from the red beast. “I mean, Megidramon!” The dragon didn’t like being labeled the way those villagers did to her. “Oooh I get it; wow really? Must be jerks! Well, we’re your friends now, you don’t need to worry about those guys. Mmhmm, mmhmm, oh...” Well that might be a problem, but even a dragon had to eat right? Granted he’d never be brave enough to try and eat a sheepmon, what with those cannons they had on their backs. “Don’t worry, we all make mistakes!”

That feeling of camaraderie was something that made Amelie smile, even if a bit wistfully. It was something she would never get to experience properly, but it was also something she couldn't be envious about; what was the point, just feeling bitter for the sake of it? That wouldn't do. Shaking her head, she just chased that feeling away.
"How the Digital World gets to choose people is probably the biggest question we'll never get answered, I feel." How partners could say so carelessly they were 'meant' for a human was something beyond baffling, at least for the brunette. "But, at plain sight, it just sounds a bit akin to star-crossed lovers. Without the loving part, that is; that'd be kinda gross."
Slightly disturbing implications aside, at least the small feud that mentioning Carlos' name had unleashed had been more or less contained, Simba acting like a total cutie included on the small act. "Sisters before misters, huh." Truth to be told, Amy hadn't ever heard that saying. Yet, it made her smile. "I like the ring that has. Hope you don't mind if I adopt that saying."
Laughing somewhat nervously, the teenager nodded after Talia went with her suggested move, finding it funny that the two digimon managed to beat her more often than not, considering their relatively innocent appearance. That meant they must be pretty smart! Letting her guard down would probably be a grievous mistake.
However... something caught Amy's attention. Even if she couldn't understand what the Megidramon was saying, a couple of words coming from Simba's mouth managed to make her feel slightly... worried. "What kind of mistake did Megidramon do, if I can ask?"
The teenager's tone was flat, yet inquisitive. She expected an answer, mostly because... she didn't have the best of feelings about this.

“Agreed, that just sounds gross, although that could bring up another curiosity...are there like, relationships between digimon ever? Is that a thing?” It was a question she aimed toward both Amy and the twins since the three of them had way more experience with this place than she did. “Relationships?” The twins turned their heads with a confused, childlike innocent look not quite processing what she’d meant first. “You knowwww, like the characters in disney movies!” Clearly they’d watch enough of those as their expressions clicked upon the blonde mentioning Disney. “Ohhh! From what I know yes, but digimon do not breed like mammalian species, instead we realize into eggs.” Welp, the more you know? It wasn’t exactly the answer she was looking for, but these two were a little too young to understand intimacy and such. “Does that mean I had a mom and dad?,” Simba pondered, placing a paw on his chin. “No silly, we were born in the village of beginnings remember? Digimon can have parents, but not all do.”
Tohru had sounded oddly defensive, but Talia figured it best not to press the subject too much at the moment since it sounded like it was a sensitive one for the rabbit. “Of course not! It’s something we say a lot in the states - I’ve always been more of a girls girl than guys girl really, most of my closest friends are women - not that I don’t trust men or anything, I’m just kind of cynical towards them I guess? Discrimination by gender will do that to you I guess, not that I’ve ever let that stop me from doing what I wanted to. How about you? Forgive me for assuming your age but are you in school?” Amy was totally going to get offended wasn’t she? Talia went through that a lot too, being mistaken for a young girl because of her babyface and all.
Simba hesitated to say, feeling slightly protective of the dragon, not so nervous of their judgement towards her persay but moreso fearful about what they would do as a result of the incident. “Uhhh…” The petite dragon looked away somewhat uncomfortable before receiving a pat on the shoulder by Tohru. “You can say it, no one’ll judge.” The rabbit would have been lying if she said she didn’t feel completely guilty over what happened earlier, but the thing was she constantly worried that Simba’s cowardice would get him into serious trouble one day when he was by himself, he needed to learn how to pull himself by his bootstraps so to speak. “Fine...she ate some villagers sheepmon.” As he spoke, the dragon jumped in front of the Megidramon slightly with a protective vibe. “But its not her fault! The sheepmon used to be her wild prey until the villagers came along and made them farm livestock.”

Talia had, undoubtedly, posed an extremely interesting question. And, while the initial topic was something she couldn't entirely wrap her mind around, the blonde's second question was something way less uncomfortable.
"They happen, kinda." Was her initial response. Her right index now placed in her chin, she began to think about her own experiences about the matter. Better to... just omit certain details about it, however. "I actually have a friend that's currently... going out with another friend? Both are digimon; a Mikemon and a Renamon. Basically, a funny-looking cat and a humanoid fox lady. It's definitely not like a relationship between humans, but I think it works out just as well."
After a small pause, the brunette's hands finally relaxed a bit as a small smile took over her features. "I'm helping them to get their new baby settled in! We're not sure if it's going to be a boy or a girl, but everyone seems to be so happy..." Indeed, that was a bit of a momentous occasion! The birth of a new life under the care of a loving family was definitely something that had to be celebrated. "I don't understand why they were so reluctant about throwing a party for the newborn. That stuff kinda has to be celebrated, right?"
Well, that was probably the human way of thinking. After a small shrug, she nodded decisively to Talia's next question; that was way easier to answer. "Majoring in architecture at the moment. First year; still a long way to go, but I'm enjoying the trip thus far." She made a small pause before the obvious reply. "How 'bout you? You look like a professional, but it never hurts to ask. Which field?"
The whole 'being cynical towards men' argument was a bit interesting to hear, even though Amy didn't have much to add to it. That kind of stuff was something that could only be formed with experience, and while hers hadn't been optimal, she couldn't really call them 'bad'.
Those thoughts were interrupted by Simba's own dire tale about Megidramon's actions. Sure, eating cattle wasn't something out of the ordinary for wild digimon; they had to subsist somehow, right? At least those were Amelie's first conclusions about the whole deal, yet... more upsetting implications about the whole deal arose.
"Say..." Her voice quivered just a little bit. "Then, if Megidramon ate the cattle from one of the nearby towns, does that mean that this particular Megidramon is maybe being hunted for, well, that very reason?"
That was a question that was left hanging in the air for a couple of seconds, before she added. "What are we going to do about it?"
It wasn't like she considered the Megidramon her closest friend, but Simba definitely seemed like he did. And that meant that Talia would probably get dragged along, which meant that she would probably get dragged along too.
Such was life.

“Sounds plausible to me, considering there’s tons of animals who mate for life like humans - foxes, swans orcas, but each one has a completely unique dynamic.” In a way this land was starting to make sense, well maybe not total and practical sense but more along the line that the hacker was beginning to see parallels between this place and the earth plane that made the hypothesis of the digital plane’s existence just a little bit more easy to process in her mind, a task which she found difficult even after spending so much time with the twins - as if she’d accepted it, but the events that unfolded hadn’t quite sunk in yet. “That must be so fun, newborns always are - I’m not much of a maternal person, like when someone hands me a baby I’m nervous I’m going to drop it or make it cry by looking at it the wrong way, but once they can walk and know how to use a toilet I’m alright with them.” As long as they didn’t have tantrums of course, bratty screaming kids were super annoying.
“You should have seen the twins when they were babies, they were super duper cute, oh wait!” The perks of being able to take pictures on your phone in the age of technology right? The phone’s connection didn’t work here but the phone itself was still functional which allowed Talia to pull up pictures saved in its storage. “This is when they fell asleep watching 101 Dalmatians!” Displayed to Amy was a scene of a Koromon and a Moonmon sleeping peacefully on a couch while curled up together like two small kittens, the room dim with only a faded light in the back which was likely coming from the TV that was left on before they’d fallen into slumber. “Hey watch it!”
Talia had been surprised by a jumping Tohru reaching for the phone, who’s ears had nearly fallen off from horror and embarrassment upon learning the human was showing off their baby photos. “But you’re embarrassing us! I..can’t let you show anyone those pics Talia, quick go long Simba!” The rabbit’s tone was hilariously melodramatic, as Simba tried to jump up on the opposite side of where the rabbit was, except that the blonde knew both of them fairly well by now as she pointed over yonder. “Oh...does that tree have fruit on it?” It was enough to distract Simba who glanced in said direction wide eyed at the mention of food. “Fruit? That means - FOOD!”
The small dragon forgot about the embarrassing pictures within seconds once the idea of sweet fruit was on his mind, causing the rabbit to chase after him. “Come back Simba, you can’t just, gah!!!” And now with the two occupied, Talia was free to display the embarassing yet adorable baby pictures once more. “And thisss one was when they had their first bath after they were playing in the dirt outside!” The girl slid her finger over the old pic to reveal the same babies now bouncing in a tub of steaming warm bathwater, resembling George and Martha Washington with bubble foam on top of their heads looking like tiny white wigs. “Oh me? I’m a game development programmer at the game company Overlord, I work on the coding for all our new launches, but also dabble a little in engineering and help out with designs for our gadgets occasionally. The hours can be long and it’s pretty time consuming when launch dates inch close, but it’s definitely fun work!”
Talia though for a second before answering the woman regarding Megidramon. “Well, if Dark Souls is any indication, yes, it’s highly likely, but I doubt a bunch of farmers with pitchforks can take on an acid drooling dragon...right?” There wasn’t much of a reason to worry. “Are digimon usually touchy about this kind of stuff? I feel like I could give you a better answer but I’m not experienced enough with this place I guess.” Well the only thing they could do was protect the dragon right? She’d promised that to Simba after all. “We’ll tell those farmers to go scratch of course!”

Of course, Talia provided her own insights into the situation. A thought sprung in Amelie's mind, however; were digimon really comparable to animals? Or were they something that could directly be compared to humans? The true answer was probably neither; given that digimons could be as feral as animals or even smarter than humans depending on the being itself; throwing all of them on the same bag was unfitting.
She had to agree with one thing, though; newborns were probably the cutest thing in existence. The brunette's expression effortlessly shifted into a smile as Talia made a gesture to show her the photos of Tohru and Simba when they were just babies. Gushing at how cute the two little digimons, she just stared at the screen before.
Or... at least she did so until said digimons tried to snatch the phone out of her tamer's hands. Snickering at those antics and at ow Talia managed to deftly avoid Simba doing any amount of effort in that endeavor.
"Well. At least that the phone and the compromising pictures are safe for now. I don't think that the pictures are embarrassing, though." After all, it seemed to be only natural. "Everyone was a baby at some point, I think! Even Talia or me; maybe you could ask her to show you her baby pictures down the line? I'm sure she wouldn't mind!" It was a fair tradeoff, after all! Or at least Amy saw it as that.
Her new friend's career path was definitely on the interesting side! "Programming, huh? I don't know a lot of girls who took that career path. They say it's... pretty harsh." There was no masking that fact, that was for sure; Talia probably knew that way better than her. "But it sounds interesting; I'm sure there's not an idle minute on that field."
After all, it was probably among the ones who evolved and changed the quickest; things that were cutting-edge could become obsolete from one year to the next; maybe she was wrong, but that sounded highly competitive to her. However... there was probably far more pressing issues at hand. Or at least Amy saw them as that; Talia seemed fairly relaxed about it.
"Are you sure it's okay to stay this relaxed about an impending attack from... who knows who? I mean, I don't doubt on Megidramon's ability to handle herself, but what if they get Tohru or Simba? I doubt that Megidramon will be able to roast them if they're holding your partners, you know?"
It was a wild guess, but Amelie thought that a digimon such as Megidramon probably had... attacks that didn't care about collateral damage. And that wasn't for the best when fighting in groups.

“Meep.” Her baby pictures?! No way Jose, those were probably even worse - at least baby digimon couldn’t really be naked right? “Hehe, luckily my mom lives in another country and I didn’t take any with me - you know airports, they charge you a fortune if your luggage is over a certain weight and my computer equipment was already three quarters of that. Heck, they charge more for that than they do for those gross peanuts and orange juice they serve you on the flight.” Talia nodded, agreeing with the woman’s words. “It is, or rather it can be if you let it be. You’re bound to have a lot of competition with guys who think they can do better than someone just because they’re a girl, but I never let that stop me - Talia Brandt always gets what she wants! And yup, it’s super fast paced, but can be slow depending at what stage of game development we’re at.”
The woman gulped, was that a thing? “I guess? Maybe I am jumping to conclusions, I don’t have much experience in this world, being this is my first day and all.” Maybe getting out here was a better idea though. “But if that’s the case, we should all probably move elsewhere - Tohru, Simba.” She called over the twins who were still preoccupied searching for the fruit she had ‘pointed out’ to them earlier. “Time to move ahead kiddos, so that-”
The ground suddenly shook but it wasn’t what they thought - as opposed to an angry mob, Megidramon had set herself flat and wrapped her snakelike form around the ground in a protective manner. “Uhhh, she’s not letting us leave is she?” Ensuring they were shielded by her, the dragon looking up staring into the distance as a pointer dog would when they caught a whiff of a deer in the brush. Trouble was coming, and the large dragon did not want the humans to be involved with it. Scooping all four of them into her arms, the red beast skyrocketed upward with flapping wings towards her cave. “D-did we just get kidnapped by a dragon?” Crap, they were gonna be dinner weren’t they?
Megidramon flew up to a large cave on a hilltop that seemed to be inaccessible except by flight or really good mountain climbing skills, which made the woman all the more nervous they were about to be food - aside from that the cave wasn’t so bad, sort of cozy in fact and warm when the dragon lit a small fire with her breath and proceeded to snuggle the twins as if they were her own whelps. “T-Talia...a little help?” Poor Tohru, cuddling definitely wasn’t her thing. “That’s your burden to bare, pal. Besides I don’t think we’ll be going anywhere for awhile, what do you think Amy?” While speaking, a shiny filament at the back of the cave caught the girls attention and as she moved closed, realized it was a pair of ornamental looking eggs with scaled, dragon like designs on both. “These would be lovely on my figures shelf but I feel like lore has taught me that taking stuff from a dragon’s cave never ends well.”

Or maybe she would mind, as strange as that was. Were Talia's baby pictures that embarrassing? Amelie didn't know, but that made her even more curious! Maybe she would have to see those down the line.
"Where does your mom live? As long as it is not very far, I'm sure she could visit every now and then! That's what most moms do, don't they?" Admittedly, maybe not every mother could be as motherly —read: overbearing— as hers, so there was no way to be certain of that. "I agree on packing light when traveling through air, though. I bought most of my stuff as soon as I moved to Shibuya. And it was cheaper than what carrying my stuff from home would've costed me."
Ah, the pleasures of traveling by plane. A cramped, smelly flying can that had food that could only be described as decidedly below average. Yet, it was still the fastest and most efficient way of transportation when wanting to get from point A to B and those were thousands of miles away from each other.
Amy could respect the blonde's drive to succeed in an environment with that amount of competition, however. "That's commendable, even if in an ideal world it shouldn't be necessary... but that's probably me being idealistic. Nevermind."
Why there had to be so much blatant sexism and competition on a field that pretty much set itself aside for being among the most progressive ones? It was as ironic as it could be, even though this wasn't the time or the moment to talk about that. Especially considering they were in a potentially dangerous situation; yet... the Megidramon seemed to be awfully bent on them not moving an inch away from this place. At least on their own, apparently! The giant dragon had managed to carry them all to a cave of sorts. "... Yeah. I think we just got kidnapped. And that I'll have to buy another Quixo set. But that's probably not very important."
Oh well, at least some digimon would have fun with the game. After everything had been said and done, she had to admit that their situation wasn't... that bad. "We should wait and... hope, I guess? Megidramon could've eaten us before we decided to be her friends, so... I guess she has a reason?"
While the objects on the end of the cave were interesting to Amelie as well, she had other priorities on the matter, like... addressing Simba. He was probably their best bet for understanding the situation. "Hey, Simba. Do you think you can talk with Megidramon over there? You could understand her earlier, so maybe you could try and make sense of what's happening?"
It was worth a shot, at the very least.

“Pretty much! From my area Japan is only about a 10 hour flight or so. See, most of my family lives in Suburban Seattle, its in the northwest part of the states - Washington is above California and Oregon, nice place, and Seattle is a clean city but you really have to be able to appreciate the rain and gloomy weather cause we get a lot of it!” It was one of the reasons she’d left to be honest, a sunny day here would have been nice. There was California but it’s mild weather and sunny climate made it a bit too popular for her liking. “It shouldn’t be, and forgive me for sounding preachy but if anything I’ve learned that you’ve got to roll with the punches sometimes, or in this case punch your way through the patriarchal road blockers!”
Yeah, unfortunately Quixo was the last thing on the dragons mind when she’d flown the group up to safety, or at least that was Talia’s guess. “Blah, it’s on me, it was my twins who got too friendly and look at the mess they’ve gotten us into! Uhh...crap.” She’d run her mouth a bit too much with the two standing in earshot, both looking a bit hurt which in turn caused them to shrink back further into the cave, a move that was possibly the catalyst for the discovery of the ornamental eggs. “Do you think they’re Megidramon’s eggs?” Tohru said, wondering out loud as she inspected them gently with a paw as if nervous to break them. “Nah, I think she wouldn’t let us touch them if they were, aren’t digimon parents usually kind of uhhh..protective? Territorial?” Granted Simba had never seen this in person, he was going by what he’d seen animals in shows on the tv in the human world do. “Mostly, probably, so it begs the question of how’d these got back here..”
And while Tohru got lost in her own thoughts, attempting to rack her brain’s mementos for anything that could help her recall what these things were, Simba went to respond to Amy, nodding as he listened. “I can definitely try, I’m not sure how good I’ll do.” He’d be lying if he said it wasn’t suddenly intimidating to willingly approach the dragon, as if the younger digimon was afraid of the answer or reaction he’d receive. “Villagers come, they hunting me down because I was taking their sheepmon, I moved group out of harm’s way, villagers know I live here though.” Crap.
At first Talia thought she’d broke them when the eggs lifted up. “Uh uh I’ll pay for them I swear! Put them on the list next to Quixo.” But instead of shattering, they fascinated her by disappearing in fractals of light right into the digivice. “Huh, thats the first time this things made any kind of noise since the twins got their child forms…” She was thinking too densely right now though to make any kind of evolutionary connection. “Okay, so Megidramon flew us up here because the villagers were coming and she didn’t want us to get in their line of fire, but they know where her cave is…” A hint that they would come soon possibly? “Well we can’t just let them hurt her right?” Talia said, turning to Amy for a second before her digivice started making noise again. “Huh, this things never been so active - hey wait, ah!” Now what had she pressed?!
In fact she was so zoned into fiddling with the thing she didn’t notice at first the pair of armored dragons standing where the twins were, the two of them looking down at themselves in fascination and almost disbelief, one covered in ivory fur and the other in lavender scales, both covered in protective metal armor platelets. “Yup, this thing is definitely defective!”

Seattle, huh? That was a pretty interesting answer! Not a place where Amelie had been before, even though the States were... an interesting country, to say the least. "Ten hours in a plane sounds a bit difficult to do on a relatively frequent basis, but I guess it's doable every now and then. When was the last time you've seen your family? Do you have any brothers and sisters? Or were you an only child?"
That was a bit of a strange question, but the brunette had their weird theory about the general outline of a person's attitude. Whether that was true or not, that was left to be seen! However, she couldn't help smiling at that statement. "That's a very admirable attitude, you know? It takes a lot of courage to confront the established status quo and strive towards a positive change."
Not that they'd have a lot of time, considering how quickly they had taken to the skies! Talia seemed a bit apologetic about the whole event, which wasn't Amy's intent in the slightest! She immediately waved that statement off. "Don't worry! It's not something that's really hard to replace; I'm sure neither Tohru nor Simba wanted for this to happen. It just... happened, I guess."
Unwittingly, maybe that'd also help the twins to feel a little better? Her friend's words had been a little too harsh, in all honesty. Not much to be done about it, in all honesty; now, their focus was the strange eggs; as interesting as they were, what was their purpose? Hopefully, they'd be able to piece that one out!
And they did soon enough, even if that was by accident! Amelie witnessed the process of what was going, knowing fairly well what it was about! "Oh! I guess those are..." She made a pause, trying to remember the exact term. "Digimentals! I know this might sound a little silly, given how sudden it is, but you just unlocked a new evolution for your partners! With any luck, you'll be able to try it out... well, soon enough."
Both Simba's comment about their current predicament and the woman fiddling with her own digivice seemed to be fairly obvious at pointing out her words. Well; at least an in-depth explanation wasn't needed. "So, what's the plan? I doubt Megidramon wants to leave her place. Maybe we could try to make a truce between them? Avoiding a tragedy would be nice, I feel..."
Did they have much time to think about this? Amy wasn't sure, but having a plan wouldn't hurt them, right? Maybe they had no time at all. The degree of unease she felt in regards to the Megidramon around the group began to slowly escalate, and despite her best attempts to ward it off, something way more... primal than that was threatening to take over.
As ridiculous as it sounded, it was almost as if somebody that wasn't her screamed directly into her mind. Someone --or something-- wanted for Amy to abandon the scene, going as far as to instill the primal fear for her life inside her mind. After all, Megidramon had claimed to eat other digimon as if it were something... casual. Was it right, to side with a murderer, as repentant as she seemed? Why hadn't she doubted of this before?
Amelie wasn't sure, but now... everything just seemed blurry. Her own thoughts were overwhelming; in a gesture that bordered panic, both hands grasped her head as she felt her balance failing. She felt she was falling.
But she didn't. Before her body touched the ground, the teenager had disappeared, seemingly out of thin air. What... had happened? [Exit]
