Amelie could see a measure of truth in Toki's words. With a small nod, she proceeded to answer the question asked, a bit of a neutral expression on her face. "Yup, he was just reborn; in fact, I think that between the egg appearing, him hatching and the evolution... there was fifteen minutes at most? I'm not really sure."
Then again, the male had provided a couple of valid points, but for what the brunette knew, there was also a... downside, so to say? "I mean, I'd be all for giving him some space if we were in, let's say, The Village of Beginnings, but... one never knows what might happen in a place like this, you know? And I don't know about you, but I doubt I could muster enough power to face the stronger or the faster denizens of this place." Which was more likely? A predator or a kidnapper? Maybe both were equally likely. "So... I'd rather not take chances and be sorry about it afterward."
The teenager wasn't sure on how to react to the exchange that followed suit; first a bit thoughtful about Toki's question of whether the digimon who introduced himself as Scyrus would prefer digimon over human company, then mostly not minding the bunny's own response and then a little bit... confused at her peer's own addendum? Well, everyone could forget about things, she guessed.
"That's fine. Don't worry; I think spirits have gotten meaner in the recent times if my experiences with every snowflake I found are any indication." Was that an adequate nickname for spirit users? It was true that they were probably on the rare side of the spectrum, even if not as mythical as the so-called xros generals. "And yup, you're right, Scy. I'm a snowflake too. Hoope you don't mind?" Why would he, however? No idea, but digimons could be weird at times.
Scyrus had expressed disdain at most regarding where he wanted to go, so maybe... looking at the edge of her sight, Amy just saw greenery everywhere. Maybe... "Hey, Toki; where do you come from? Maybe we could get Scy to The Village of Beginnings? He'll probably be safe there until he can evolve further while retaining relative independence. At least that's the best idea I'm getting."
Was that a good plan? Prooobaly; it was mostly the best course of action she could think about at the moment.

He pondered for a moment, happy that Scyrus at least gave his name. He nodded at Amelie "I see your point...it's pretty dangerous outside of the village for younger Digimon. Well in that case I'd be more than happy to tag along until we get somewhere safer, perhaps longer if you don't mind my company."
"My spirit isn't...mean. Not in the slightest. I just feel like I let him down after something that happened recently. We're not mad at each other, just...I guess we're thinking about things and how we're going to move forward." he said. He tried to be a little more positive, but it was clear he wasn't having the best of days "He's been supportive ever since I met him. Taught me what he knew about the Digital World and really pushed me to better myself as a person. Where I met him isn't that far from this spot now that I think about it." he said, looking around.
He had a moment of clarity after thinking about it "In that case...the village should be in this direction, considering I just came from the Shining Sea." he said as he gestured in the direction he was sure the village was in "We head that way and we should get to the village in no time. At least Scyrus can be somewhere more comfortable to acclimate to everything." he said, agreeing with Amelie's idea on how to help Scyrus in his current predicament.
"Can't say I've heard us referred to as 'snowflakes' before...either way, I'm ready to go whenever you both are." he said as he stood up. He looked over at Amelie "So you're a spirit user too? It's actually been a while since I met another one, so here's hoping we get along." he said with a warm, if not nervous smile.
He seemed a little upset when Scyrus referred to them as 'strange hybrids' but he couldn't really fault that. They were kind of strange in a way. They weren't what were apparently traditional tamers. "Anyway, we'll get you somewhere safer than this at least. Whether or not you want to continue spending time with us afterwards is entirely your decision." he said, bowing his head respectfully to Scyrus.

"Snowflake?" Scyrus seemed completely confused with that name, it didn't sound like it was related to it at all. Hybrid was the better name in his mind, he wasn't really aware of how it worked other than Human being able to turn into Digimon and gain their powers, but from this talk he noted that these "Spirits", probably of Digimon, are waht grant their strength to their hosts, as well as being able to communicate with them. How...peculiar. Well...he wasn't able to fully understand but he accepted it.
They did mention a name that jogged his memories. Oh. That place?
"I refuse. I will not go there." He simply stated, his stoic expression unchanging as he immediately started to bounce off in the opposite direction, not responding to the courteous bow from Toki. Even if he was a spirit user, a human was still just a human in the end, to weak to do anything on their own and Scyrus was not interested in being treated like a baby by one such weaker than him. He had no reason to reside in a place that would impede his growth. He wished to explore, to grow stronger. He didn't even give them a reason. They intruded on him. He wanted nothing to do with going back there. Even if it could be dangerous he didn't like relying or owing anybody.

The current conversation was interesting, in a sense. Amelie could agree with the points raised by Toki even if... well, she was a bit surprised at the man's dilemma with his spirits. Utmost intriguing.
"Bedroom problems, huh? Well, at least I can say that I haven't gotten into an argument with my spirits yet; they're... not the kind that likes talking, honestly. Hope you can solve yours, though! Seems like you have a pretty good crew right there, on your digivice." Had her tone just adopted a barely discernible envious undertone? Nah, that must've been just somebody's imagination.
Well, at least the plan was underway now! Just get Scy to the Village of Beginnings so he could be safe there and be done with it; Toki seemed to put that plan in notion soon enough, just after Amy shrugged at both the digimon and the human expressing puzzlement at the nickname of her own invention.
"Sure! I mean, I don't see why we wouldn't get along? Unless you're secretly evil or something, I~ think I don't see any issue!" Those words probably couldn't sound more genuine even if the brunette tried. "Random question, though; does being a spirit wielder makes me any different, friendship-wise than being a tamer... or any other thing? You made it sound as if we were an unfriendly bunch or something."
Maybe Toki had just phrased that one poorly, but that was fine! Amy had gotten the intent; she just couldn't resist making a slight teasing remark. Just for good fun!
Despite the relatively friendly atmosphere, Scyrus seemed to have other plans in mind; he wasn't a fan of the Village, apparently, and began bouncing in the exact opposite direction soon enough. Welp; so much for that plan.
Another shrug ensued. Not much she could do except following the Repamon towards his destination. "Seems like we have a bit of a tough customer. Any reason why you don't wanna go there, Scy?"

Toki frowned a bit at Scyrus' insistence to avoid the Village of Beginnings and Amelie pretty much asked the question he wanted to already. "If you're not going to go there, Scyrus then best get used to us following you around for a while. You've got a couple of people that care about you already, so I'd say today's a pretty good day." he said, that optimistic smile still present. Was he being too overbearing? Was he just going to drive Scyrus away if he kept acting like this? To Toki, he was just doing the right thing since Scyrus is more or less defenseless in this state without others around him.
He blushed a little bit when Amelie referred to Toki's current situation as 'bedroom problems,' though he couldn't help but notice her using the word spirits in a plural sense "I only have one spirit...well, to be more accurate, several totems that all make up different parts of one spirit. Each one I find seems to help him remember things about his past. He helps me with my time in the Digital World and I help him get his memories back. It's been quite the adventure so far. I'm sure...I'm sure everything will be okay."
When Amelie said that would get along, he looked relieved, though once again looked nervous when she posed the question about how he phrased what he said "Oh, no...no no that's not what I meant at all. I just run into so few spirit users compared to Digimon or tamers that I meant...it's such a rare meeting for me that it would make me happy to get along with whoever I find that is one, you know? Though...while I wouldn't call them unfriendly, other spirit users I've met were a little more somber than you were..." he reflected back on when he met Kan and Alicia.
"In any case, I think we should focus on our friend here. I just hope we can help..." he muttered. "He kind of reminds me of how I used to be...and how I used to be just made life lonely. I don't want him to live like that too." he said. He genuinely wanted to help Scyrus. He was a little sad they weren't going to the Village as he enjoyed spending time with the Digimon there and helping raise the young ones.

Scyrus cared not for whatever "bedroom" problems this human had, neither did he care to begin to understand what the heck that expression even meant. One human was weird, the other nosy. He hated this sort of babysitting they were doing. He was an In-Training, he understood that much, but when you have 4 lives worth of knowledge in survival, it sort of means he doesn't need anyone, right? Relying on others wouldn't make him stronger. He didn't want to do that as much as he didn't want this girl to follow him in the first place. They may be what people refer to as "good" humans, but he didn't need their pity, companionship or to be looked after by them.
God by now he wished he was secretly evil. He didn't think he was evil, he didn't think he was good either, he was just himself and that was all he wanted to be. He scoffed at her under his breath, looking uninterested. He almost pouted. He was about to continue along until the girl asked another question. He was really getting tired.
"How can I hope to strengthen myself when relying on others? Relying on you, on the carer or others. It makes one weaker. I grow stronger on my own. Nobody to hold me back." He looked back at them with a stoic and neutral expression as he spoke, his voice, sounding not cold, but also not happy. This was sort of the life Scyrus only ever knew, and he was stubborn.
"I also don't like it. Too colorful." Guess he was also a child too even if his soul was older. He pouted and looked aside, satisfied with his answer.

Toki's spirit was definitely interesting! Just like the explanation behind him; all of them were the same entity, but fragmented, huh?
"First time hearing something like that; seems pretty interesting! But I guess that having a single partner beats dealing with the individual personalities of." She began to think a bit about it... "Seven or so entities, eventually? Jeez, definitely sounds like something I'd rather not deal with. I'm glad you seem to be good friends with yours, though!"
The brunette made a small pause, before asking the inevitable question; sure, Toki said he didn't want to make his conversation about him, but the curiosity was simply too great! "So... how did you let him down? Seems like a pretty chill guy, from what you've told me."
Well, at least her teasing had worked out as intended; Amy proceeded to giggle at how her new friend scrambled for an explanation, before just waving off the part where he sounded apologetic. "Don't worry about it; I'm just being difficult. I gotta admit that, besides you, I've only met... four other spirit wielders, and two were brothers. None of them seemed to be particularly 'somber', though! Even if they all were... pretty interesting as people, for sure."
It was true that the number paled in comparison to the number of tamers Amelie had met, however. But that was probably a topic for later! She had gotten a little bit derailed, hadn't she? Scy was the main issue right now, and his unwillingness to express himself more clearly... or to accept others' help was a bit of a problem. After nodding to Toki's last statement, she looked at the Repamon with a thoughtful expression. It seemed that only stone-cold logic would do?
"Well. Not liking colorful is nice, buuuut; what if I throw you a curveball, so to say. Food for thought, if you wanna call it that way." She paused for a split second, as if to gauge that Scy was probably not very interested. "The most successful species of animals are gregarious. Most of the time, it's not forming communities to depend on others or anything the of sort; it's just because there's so far you can get on your own. No individual is omnipotent, and I think that you're smart enough to know what is likely to happen when you get to fight against two opponents who are at roughly the same skill than you. If you really want to tread so-called path of 'strength', you know that is bound to happen sooner or later, right? Is that really how you want for things to end?"
She could probably go on and on why solitary life wasn't a very good choice when deciding that fighting was everything you wanted to do, but Amy thought those words were enough to drive the point home for now.

Toki felt a little better at Amelie's perspective on the situation. "It's something I don't mind, honestly. I enjoy the places I've been to and the people I've met while searching for the totems. I wouldn't trade this for anything." he said with the utmost confidence in his statement. He didn't know what he would do without the people he now has in his life. "I...I am good friends with him, aren't I?" he said to reassure himself. It was something he needed to hear. Their time working together wasn't wasted despite this current issue. He sighed a little when she asked what happened "...I wasn't in the right mindset when I obtained the Beast Spirit Totem. I was angry with myself. I doubted myself. Who I was, who I wanted to be...and...the last thing I remember after that was pain. I lost control of the spirit. I had to be stopped by my friends. If they didn't, I'm not sure what would have happened to me. Since then we've just stopped talking to each other. He hasn't even manifested. I lost control of a power he would have entrusted to me, so I'm scared that I've broken his trust."He listened to her talk about other spirit users that she had met "Brothers, hm? I don't think I've met them...it must be nice to have someone so close to aid you with this sort of thing. I'm an only child, myself." he said. His tone suddenly shifted slightly at Scyrus' words. His smile faded as he moved to step in front of him. He would pace in front of him if he tried to get past him just so he'd listen "Absolutely, one-hundred percent incorrect." he bluntly stated. He looked down at him, arms crossed behind his back. For a moment he remained silent, as if thinking. "The lone stubborn wanderer Who fights for himself Becomes forgotten by time."
It sounded harsh, and he might have been a little heavy-handed with that, but he looked at Scyrus once more "Strength is not just about independence and prowess in battle. It's about clarity of mind and an openness to experience. To disregard the comforts of companionship and what said companions can offer you is naive. I saw when Amelie pet you when I arrived. You looked peaceful. Happy even. Those are feelings to experience. Those are the feelings that matter. A life alone and a life without those small comforts is a bitter one. Trust me. I grew up thinking exactly like you. I thought all that mattered was honing my skills and being better than everyone else...but I realized that strength and skill for the sake of it is a worthless endeavor. All it does is hurt people and hurt one's soul. Without a purpose beyond simple improvement...what is there? When I came here to the Digital World I found a purpose. To protect others. As someone who is strong, it's my duty and privilege to defend those who can't defend themselves...then maybe one day they'll become inspired by my actions and grow stronger themselves. Who knows? I just know it's what I wish to do."

The two went on and on about their little almost heart to heart conversation. Not of any interest, in fact, he almost zoned out, hopping away veeeeery slowly, trying to escape their so called "care"....and yet he found himself listening on them, not because it mattered to him what their lives were, but rather he simply wanted to gain more knowledge...and so far he could tell these Spirt...Wielders? Snow Wielders? Whatever? They could talk with the Digimon that gave them the power to change. It was like a DNA Evolution with Humans and Digimon in the end right? How curious...He once again tried to bounce away when it seemed their conversation ended but was quickly turned back to him.
Scyrus seemed surprised. He was feeling something, something that made him choke slightly, that made him boil and his stomach feel unwell. Was this what being really angry felt like? Or was he just sick...? Both of them immediately shot down his statement, insulting his very way of life? Saying he has been one hundred percent wrong? Was his entire life a damn mistake then? Everything, did it all amount to nothing in their eyes? His training, his battles, his kills and deaths. He grew red from anger, gritting his teeth and growling as he glared at them both...Living alone, fighting alone, it was all he ever knew...How was it that these people call it wrong and deny it?
"...." He scoffed at Amelie. "You...You wouldn't know a thing about that. You hide behind that stolen power...none of it is actually yours...If that ever happens I will kill them both. And if I die that just means I was too weak... and I will come back stronger...! My deaths...make me stronger...I need nobody...." He shot back...his anger showing in his voice as the same kind of dark data that was seen when he was born and digivolved started to surround him. This feeling of anger felt familiar and yet foreign. It was strange....He was never this usually emotional over things. Had he been his own self it would have ended in just a shrug or a glare maybe....but never had he felt this...He might be over reacting but the poor rabbit has very little control over his newly attained emotions.
He shot his look at Toki, the data converging more so like a tornado around him as he shot his words now to him. "You...Who are you to call...my purpose...my way of living incorrect?! That I 'enjoyed' her weird action?" He slammed his ear against the floor with anger, glaring daggers at Toki, even more so than to Amelie.
"You can't do a single thing on your own and call yourself strong?! Relying on others is just what the weak do to pretend to be strong...I need nobody...They...'friends'... will just get in my way... My strength is mine...And mine ALONE."
...And soon enough his body enveloped itself in the data...
"Digivolve...."
And with that, the smoke of data thickens and then....it clears...These stands a bigger bipedal rabbit with eyes like that of a fox, a purple scarf and large heavy arms with marks on the left arm and left ear....He opened one eye, his yellow pupil seemed to glow as it was surrounded by black sclera, glaring at them.
"I WILL become the strongest. Alone." He spoke, his voice still sounding young, and yet it did not suit that tone he was taking towards them, nor the deadly glare he shot...With that he turned around and dashed away towards the exit of the forest, his swift feet aiding his leave.
...And yet...those words wouldn't leave his mind. Was he really wrong in thinking this way? No! He wasn't...Amelie...her words sounded so logical...why would he get so overreactive about this...Why did he care so much. This all felt so confusing...that burst of emotions...that feeling of anger... Maybe he did enjoy what he did...but it was so strange, foreign. It scared him? NO! He wasn't scared of anything. They were wrong. His strength had a purpose... HE had a purpose...he...he did right?
Right?

In the end, Amy nodded to Toki's words. "Sounds like you are pretty good friends, yes." Then again, it'd take somebody being completely and utterly blind to not notice that. However... the teenager had to admit she was a bit weirded out at the man's current predicament with his spirit. She couldn't understand, but...
Eh. That was her mindset; probably something nobody would appreciate being shared. "By the sound of it, it's probably something that can be solved given enough time, but... have you tried taking the first step and apologizing by yourself? Like it or not, you two are now in the same boat, and I frankly think that there being no communication is something that neither of you should allow. Besides, thus far, the only thing you've told me are conjectures." She made a small pause; this was the second time she was going to sound harsh today. Probably too soon? "Have you tried asking him how he feels, and what can you do in order to salvage the situation? At least from where I stand, that's the obvious thing to do; letting time pass incurs in the risk of that rift widening. Fortune favors the bold, or so they say."
The brunette shrugged right afterward; had she been dismissive of Toki's own problems? Maybe, but she really thought there were concise things he could do to improve on it that he currently wasn't doing. Then again, her outlook on it was rather simplistic... Anyway! Changing topic onto something a little... different? She wasn't sure if bright was the correct word.
"I don't know how I'd feel if any member of my family was involved in this mess, honestly." Her tone was slightly distraught at that notion; even if an amazing place, the Digital World was dangerous. And Amy wouldn't be able to bear with the weight of her family getting injured or... worse. So she let the answer lie there.
It wasn't like she could add much, anyway, since Scyrus' own words, coupled with Toki's expected harshness was something quite surprising. Amelie herself hadn't expected for him to that blunt on his approach. Funny as it was, she had been so surprised by the whole exchange that she hadn't even been able to address Scyrus properly when he called her out for sharing her ideas.
So much for a friendly exchange; all that the teenager had managed to was to remain frozen while the whole scene ensued. In the blink of an eye, the digimon was gone and she was left even more perplexed than before.
Returning back to reality would take her a couple more seconds, but once she did, she just stared at the distance, a nondescript expression on her face before... shrugging. Yet, she did not move an inch from her last position.
"It's his... loss, I guess." She finally said. While it was true that their words had some effect on the rabbit, what exactly that had been was dubious at best. "But I guess that, ultimately, those are his choices to make. Not much we can do about that."
At least one thing had remained true, for Amy at the very least. That was a digimon whose egg she had cradled in her arms. Somehow, she felt like he was her responsibility, at least in a sense. And...
She also thought this wasn't the last time they'd see him. The true question was, however... how would their next meeting go? For some reason, the brunette wasn't precisely excited to find out...

Scyrus' outburst came as a bit of a surprise, but despite that Toki didn't flinch or back down. Scyrus was being defensive, and that was understandable. He certainly would have felt the same way in his position. Due to his past, Toki sympathized with him. It didn't make it any easier to see Scyrus run off, though. With a heavy sigh he walked over to the tree to lean his back against it "That could have gone smoother...maybe I shouldn't have been so up front about it." he mused. It was too late now though, so it would only hurt him to dwell on it.
He had a feeling he would see Scyrus again, though he wasn't sure what the circumstances would be. At least, he hoped so. "I might just be as stubborn as he is, but I don't want to leave it at this. I want to do what I can for him...whatever that might be." he said. To be so steadfast was respectable, but he couldn't respect his views. Friends get in the way? Spirit Users have false strength? There was no way he could ever agree with those beliefs. However he worried that he would just end up hurting him if he kept trying to push his beliefs onto him. There had to be another way.
Regardless, he listened to Amelies advice. "...You know, I didn't really think of that...huh." he looked down at the grass thoughtfully. He closed his eyes for a moment "If...you can hear me right now, I'm sorry. I was an idiot...I rushed ahead without thinking and got us and even our friends hurt because of it. I just...want us to move on from this and be better because of it."
It was silent for a moment, but soon the faint image of an Antylamon appeared before them "I should apologize to you. I wasn't able to guide you properly then, and because of that we both went in over our heads." he said. He looked genuinely guilty.
Toki felt a little embarrassed about this. The whole time his spirit felt just as guilty? He didn't even consider that possibility "So...everything's okay?" he asked.
His spirit nodded "Of course. It would make me very happy to put this behind us." he said. He bowed to Amelie "It's a pleasure to meet you, by the way. Forgive my silence until now. Now...is everything well? I was aware enough of my surroundings to hear about what happened..."
Toki frowned a bit "I wouldn't use the word 'well' to describe what happened. There was an argument and a pretty adamant disagreement. I worry I might have pushed things too far."
"Nonsense, if I heard everything correctly, you simply wanted them to avoid living like you once had. If there's anyone who understands him...I think it is you. I believe you should try to meet with him again."
"Maybe you're right." he said. He managed to smile a little bit. He chuckled nervously and looked over at Amelie "Hard to believe what can happen in such a short amount of time, hm...? It's certainly not something I expected to get involved in. Oh and...thank you. I guess I should have apologized to my spirit a lot sooner..."

Well. Not much that could be done now, honestly. The brunette thought genuinely that Toki's words had reached Scy in some way or another. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gotten that reaction. But... had he been too blunt on his approach? Amelie thought that was a real possibility, but since the digimon has also expressed his opinion unrestrained and not caring about hurting the feelings of his listeners, she had thought he'd also be mature enough to take the same in return.
But, that had been a mistake, hadn't it? There had been an effect, for sure, even if definitely not the one that neither person had expected. "Don't worry about the result. I think you already planted the seed of doubt in his mind. Give it time; this kind of changes, —if they happen at all—, take their fair bit of time. Just as he had said, that probably had been his way of life for... who knows how much time. That must've been a rather rude awakening."
Whether he wanted to be of further help to Scy or not, that was definitely his choice; she definitely hoped he'd have luck, even though that finding the rabbit again would probably take a fair bit of time, if it ever happened at all. "Good luck there. You'll probably need it."
In any case, at least, the teenager was happy that Toki had decided to try and make peace with his spirit; the result was pretty amazing, in a sense. She hadn't ever seen a spirit projecting like a hologram, and even talking to them as if it was real. That was pretty metal. Still, she tried to hide her surprise as she listened to the conversation between the two beings. And managed to smile widely at the result.
"At least that solves your bedroom problems. No need to thank me for helping." She remarked, her expression turning for a split second into a teasing grin. Amelie then turned to talk to the digimon. "Pleased to meet you too, rabbit man! 'Well' is a strange word. I think something happened and eventually had its conclusion. Whether it was a positive or a negative development, that is yet to be seen, in my opinion; time will tell."
But... at least that meant that there was a concise plan for the future. If both Antylamon and Toki desired to see Scyrus again, there wasn't much she could do to stop them. Except wishing them luck, except that... she had already done that, hadn't she?
"I think that there's not much left to do here." The brunette said, while staring at distance, her expression becoming a bit embarrassed. "I should get going; kinda had an appointment in Terminus like... half an hour ago. See ya later, guys!"
It had been an interesting experience, and one that she wouldn't regret, but for now... she had to run! With any luck, she'd see both Toki and Scyrus down the line. Even if... Amy wasn't precisely in a hurry regarding the second case. [Exit Thread]

Everything that had happened still nagged at the back of Toki's mind and likely would for a while. That was just his personality. He would always get worked up and overthink everything before committing to an action unless it was something he felt strongly about. "I just hope it works out in the end. He got so defensive and upset, though I understand why. We'll just have to wait and see what happens from here on." he said with a nod.
He became flustered once more at her referring to the situation as 'bedroom problems,' though knew that was precisely why she did it. "I'm going to anyway, because it was the reminder I needed. So thank you." he said to her. Truly he was grateful for that simple reminder. He would be beating himself up about that one for a while.
The spirit nodded in response to Amelie "I see...I see. I'm familiar with this kind of development. Nothing to it other than wait for what happens, loathe as I am to say it. These are certainly things that cannot be resolved in a single conversation." he lamented.
Toki began to look a little more optimistic though "I think we can help if we ever run into him again. I'm still not sure how exactly, but we'll figure something out." he said. He looked at Amelie when she said she had to leave for Terminus "Oh! Well don't let me keep you. See you around!" he waved goodbye.
"So where do you want to go, Toki?" his spirit asked. The two of them still felt slightly guilty about what happened, but at least they were speaking again.
"Honestly...I don't know. With the semester out I can spend far more time here in the Digital World, but I think I should go resupply before I make my next big plan. That and see how dad's doing."
"He must be worried. It would be nice to stop and visit with him a little while longer before he has to go home, wouldn't it?"
"Yeah..." Toki said as he managed a small, yet genuine, smile. "It would be." he opened a portal back to the Human World and would leave the Digital World behind for the time being. Next time he was here, he would have goals to try and accomplish.
