As the conspicuous gate opened, three digimon popped out of it. One of them was a bandaged purple lizard, another a shoutmon with a scarf and the third a thin, tall humanoid fox. Monodramon, Shoutmon and Renamon. Monodramon Silence and Rain.
"Ow! Ow!" Monodramon complained, finally freed from Silence's constraints. His eyes widened as he witnessed the portal closing itself, he got up as fast as he could and ran towards it, only for it to close before he could reach it. "No, no, no! My chili! What did you do that for? She was taking care of me and being super nice, and you had to come and ruin it!"
In response, both Rain and Silence kneeled in front Monodramon, each placing one fist in front of their bent leg. They lowered their gazes, then Rain spoke words that reminded Monodramon of the tragedy they'd revealed moments ago:
"My deepest apologies, master Monodramon, but we require your assistance and guidance." She confessed. Monodramon couldn't respond right away, his own gaze looked down. Was what she said true?
"Did...did master Dorbickmon really disappear? What happened? He was so brave and strong and great, how could he just vanish like that? Where did he even go?"
Rain shook her head.
"That is unknown to me, master Monodramon. All we know was that he was requested to aid some digimon in the spears of Meggido, where a pack of raging Megidramon's were rampaging. We haven't heard from him since, nor did anyone we could reach. With him disappearing like this, we were left without guidance." Rain explained. Monodramon swallowed, not wanting to believe what his ears were telling him, but knowing he had to accept it nonetheless.
"So why did you take me here? Why are you addressing me as master? I can't teach you anything, I don't even know as much as you do! I don't even know how you got to the human world, I ahve so many-"
"You are wrong, master monodramon. You do know a lot more than we do. You may even know more than master dorbickmon." Monodramon stopped and simply stared at her, baffled by such an observation. What was she even talking about? She raised a finger and aimed it at him. "You and master Dorbickmon each took turns raising the other's reincarnation, training them, passing down the secrets of the FCF strike. Even if right now you do not recall so, all those memories and secrets must reside in your code still, buried deep down somewhere. Why else would you and master dorbickmon manage to always reincarnate into your correct selves? It makes no sense otherwise. There has to be a way to awaken that side of you, master monodramon, restore your memories so that we can learn and complete our training."
"What if I don't want to? What if-"
"Then you too, must learn."
Monodramon gulped, turned around and quickly tried to escape. Silence made no motion to stop him, but Rain quickly leaped up and dropped on Monodramon, pinning him down by sitting on top of him. Monodramon kept struggling, he couldn't allow this, he needed to run! What would happen to him as they attempted to make such an impossible thing as restore a past life? What would happen if they succeeded? If they failed? Would his current memories cease, his current self go away? He didn't even want to think about it...
"I understand that this is not easy to accept. It's a lot to have sprung on to you. But that is ok, we can give it time. I'm sure you will come to comprehend our perspective." Rain insisted.

After that, Monodramon was given a few hours to "calm down" about the whole situation. While indeed he stopped struggling, it was just a terrible sensation knowing he was now tied up while two of his former friends, who had just taken him away from everything he loved in the human world, from the great food he was about to have to his collection of shinies, all of that so they could learn something they hadn't managed to at the dojo. And even so, he had no way of really getting away.
Fortunately, his idea for a plan came at the right time, as Rain passed the watch to Silence, and went to get herself a nap. She wasn't comfortable at first, seeing how she was used to the dojo's floor and tree branches, whereas we were in the middle of the desert. Still, she eventually managed to, and Monodramon took the opportunity to try to formulate his escape. He approached Silence, dragging myself along the sand.
"Hey, hey Silence! I think I may be willing to... try it out. Just a little. Can you like, get me up? Then use your technique and punch me. Maybe that will trigger some memories."
Silence gazed down on Monodramon with suspicion.
"If you can't trust me a little... how can we ever do anything for you and Rain to learn?"
These words were, it seemed, enough. Silence helped him up, then readied his FCF technique. Monodramon stood there, prepapred, and took the punch with which Silence implated his curse on his supposed new master. Damm it, that hurt! But now Monodramon only had to say the words, no sound actually coming out, to trigger his ability "Chameleon Strain". As he fell in the sand a little distance away, he was already invisible, and his change in texture wouldn't even allow him to leave proper markings on the sand. He turned around and ran away as best he could while still tied, not even bothering to look back to check whether Silence or even Rain were in persuit. He ran, he ran, he ran, hating with every inch of his being that he had been brought to this situation like this, and he kept running until his feet suddenly slipped and he found himself sliding down a hole of sand and stone.
