Our House In The Middle Of The Plains [Digital Field Club]

It had taken a while, but finally the club had its own base of operations. Yukiko could still not believe that her silly idea had gained enough traction that they now had a -base-. And what a base it was! "I th-th-th-th-thought you wanted to look f-f-f-for an office space in Terminus!" Usako, the club's Calcumon guardian, looked up from reading her copy of The Annotated Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica. "Friend, do you know how much real estate in Terminus costs? You'd be lucky to afford an office if you have an annual salary of 6 Million Yen. So, instead I took our money out of the city, and onto the plains. And lo and behold, this lovely thing was for sale. I bought it, and fixed it right up. It can even move." Mizu was in sheer awe. She was laying on an old sofa in the lounge, and staring at the ceiling which displayed a video feed of a (currently empty) aquarium in the basement. "This place is amazing! I still cannot believe this is all ours! We're gonna have the best parties ever here!" "Certainly, but let us keep in mind that we are mostly here for research, yes?" Mizu stuck out her tongue towards Usako while Yukiko set down a few more boxes full of furniture. Seems that Usako had also gotten a number of items to furnish the base with. She had sent invitations to every field club member, inviting them to come look at the base, and to help decorate it. She wondered how many would come...

The Great Moving Library...
Amelie wasn't the kind that enjoyed long-winded, fancy names; probably something short and to the point would've rung better with her. However, the brunette couldn't deny that the base of operations of the Field Club looked pretty impressive and that there was no way around that.
That had been the fruit of their labor, hadn't it been? While she wasn't sure of how much she had actually contributed to this, she was aware that everyone had at least done something for this project to become a reality. And for that much, she could let herself beam with pride as she entered the mobile base.
The first group of beings she found were, logically, Mizu, Usako and Yukiko; deciding to close the distance between them quickly, Amy waved excitedly at the three. "He~y! Mizu, Yuki, Usa! Hope I didn't arrive too late." Given that no one else of the club seemed to be present at the moment, she guessed that she hadn't. "Place looks pretty great, if you ask me. What's the layout? I'm a bit excited to know how it works, exactly!"
Given she was studying to become an architect of all things, that question came as something pretty natural for the teenager; she was excited to know about the inner workings of this place as soon as possible. "Take there's enough space for all of us? Guess we'll have to do some... heavy lifting first, though."
That pile of boxes with furniture wouldn't disappear by itself, after all! This had the real possibility of being an arduous day of work, but... Amelie didn't care. She was too happy to.

Post by Haru Toriya and Tawna on May 29, 2018 20:43:35 GMT
When it came to the Digital Field Club, Haru would have never thought that it'd have expanded the way it did. What was once just a bunch of generic, ragtag dorks banding together in the pursuit of science seemed to be growing into something FAR bigger and grander than any of them would have ever expected. Now they had a LEGIT base of operations, like a secret base tier hideout! Was it even accurate calling this a club anymore...? From meeting up in a dinky little office in Hachiko Square to owning what amounted to a moving fortress was a huge leap for their little team.
Haru still wasn't completely the sciency type like perhaps Ayumi or Mikemon, but she did take the club very seriously. As soon as she got the message from Yukiko to come over... well, the girl was willing to drop what she was doing at the time (a.k.a. being lazy) and rush to their new hideout as soon as possible.
The Great Moving Library as they've chose to call it was identifiable from even far off, the series of moving towers easy for Haru to at least catch and head towards. With Tawna in their Meicoomon form on the girl's shoulder and Medea the BlackLunamon not terribly far behind (Haru had yet to introduce the BlackLunamon to the club yet, the BlackLunamon having somewhat attached themselves to Haru). They were... certainly something alright.
"I din't take yuh fawh bein' a geek, boss. Man, I thoughtcha were ackshully SOMEWHAT cool." the lapine Digimon snidely spoke as the tailed behind Haru, briefly blowing their ahoge off of their face as they walked. They liked the girl and cat, but what kinda losers hung out with science nerds anyway? "Well, how do you know they aren't cool? Science is pretty rad actually!" the gogglehead retorted somewhat pluckily, not minding their sour attitude. After having dealth with Tawna in the past, the Brooklyn-esque bun was nothing at this point.
The BlackLunamon seemed to sigh dejectedly as they began to pout as they soon arrived at the giant structure, Haru's face lighting up as they entered the lounge area of the Library and saw Yukiko, Mizu, Amelie, and Usako. "Oy! Can you believe this...? This place is all ours! Our club's not so little anymore ~" the girl exclaimed happily as she waved to the group, Tawna jumping off her back and seemingly having claimed a single empty cardboard box nearby as their own. Haru snorted slightly at her partner bee-lining towards all cats' greatest pleasure, she glancing back at her fellow members. "So, anything we need to do...?"
Staying behind Haru's leg, Medea peeked her head behind the girl at the two humans, Betamon and Calcumon... somewhat cautiously.

It had been a hard day of work, indeed! But Amelie was very satisfied with it; after all, she had helped to move a fair bit of stuff from the previous hideout the club had towards its new home and had left her own room looking nothing short of f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s!
The brunette couldn't but look with satisfaction at what had been the four walls that had initially been assigned to her; while bland at first, now they were decorated with nothing short of an amazing combination of pastels and pinks, and was fully furnished! With enough space to accommodate a huge bed, a drawer, and even a small table.
Sure, right now her clothes were a mess and even her face and hands were stained with paint, but that was only a small price to pay for a job well done. At least she had enough foresight to protect her hair inside a beanie; otherwise, there might've been a tragedy! Even though brushing it back to shape was probably going to be a drag.
Sighing in relief, Amelie looked at the time. It was quite late, wasn't it? She should better go home, considering that midterms week began...
Wait, it begins tomorrow? Panicking for a second, Amy picked up her things as quick as she could and, after biding her goodbyes in a very hasty way to any member of the club still left in the Library, she made her exit posthaste.
