A hidden land, nestled away in a far-off server. Skies of a deeper blue than any sapphire, and grass as green as emeralds. The trees of this realm stand high as skyscrapers, and massive cities sprawl about the landscape, each with a magnificent castle nestled in the center. This is the digital realm of Witchelny, a haven for magic wielding Digimon, knight class Digimon, and their assorted ilk. However, the cities aren't the only populated ares of Witchelny. Many types of more monstrous Digimon live in the million-acre thick forests of sky piercing trees, the miles deep caverns, and the churning digital sea surrounding the entirety of Witchelny.
The citizens of Witchelny's cities live in a fashion reminiscent of a medieval kingdom broken up into numerous feifdoms, all swearing fealty to the central kingdom. Each feif acts as something of an autonomous government, with the regional rulers setting laws and handling inter-feif affairs, while the citizens are mostly free to pursue their own interests, often being magical study due to the high amounts of Wizardmon, Witchmon, and other magical Digimon, as well as the guard squads of Knightmon, often lead by a Mistymon captain.
The capital city of Witchelny, however, is a much different matter. This sprawling metropolis of magic, craftsmen, and knights is a spectacle even among this mystical dimension, with high soaring towers of red, blue, green, and yellow painted marble at each corner of the city, contrasted by shorter spires of purple, black, white, and teal marble at the east, north, south, and west, respectively. These towers represent the collective knowledge of the great elemental sorceries, high-level programming wielded by the natives of Witchelny, and each had a single path leading inward, towards the center of the city, where its greatest spectacle stood.
At the center of this city stands a magnificent palace, easily taller than any of the immense trees of the land, looking to be carved of a single piece of solid black basalt and inlaid with gold and silver. This mighty fortress houses the shrine of the ancient hero that saved Witchelny, and is the seat of the kingdom's rulers, a council of elder Digimon titled as the "Council of Sages" who gather around a massive circular table, with a single seat left empty, comprised of a symbolically large throne.
Outside of the cities, Witchelny is a mystifying, terrifying realm, full of beastly wild Digimon, many of which have no desires more complex than destroying intruders and devouring their data. The forest act as home to a wide assortment of Digimon, for the gentle Cherrymon elders who seek only to maintain peace, to the stampedes of Vermillimon traveling throughout the land on a whim, to the branch-swinging Apemon, living is tribes among the foliage and dropping down on any interlopers. Deep in the caves live many types of primal dragon Digimon, as well as subterranean beasts like Drimogemon and Digmon, and if you delve deep enough, even wicked creatures like Devidramon.
More than anything, though, every resident of Witchelny agrees on one solitary fact. You never go into the sea and expect to leave it. The seas surrounding Witchelny are horrendous, filled with monstrous high-level Digimon constantly vying for territory and waging constant war. Dagomon roam the depths, dragging down any foolhardy youths that try to set out on the waters, while pods of Whamon bicker and feud over sections of water, and gangs of MegaSeadramon harass and waylay any stragglers or loners. Truly, the water is the domain of death in Witchelny.
Obviously, despite their isolation on a distant server, Witchelny has frequent interaction with the Digital World proper, with gateways leading to and fro erected in each city, and natural portals forming at random in the untamed wilds. While the constructed gates always open into mostly-peaceful settlements, and can normally only be opened or closed by those tied to Witchelny, the wild portals can appear anywhere in either Witchelny or the Digital World, and at any time. This has, in the past, lead to warring factions in the Digital World falling into Witchelny and forming temporary truces to try and dominate this foreign land. Thus far, none have succeeded.
This isn't to say that Witchelny's residents are secretive, or afraid of outsiders. Many willingly cross back and forth often, trading goods with Digimon of the other side, or going on pilgrimages of exploration and self-discovery. Very young inhabitants will sometimes even partner with the humans who have been appearing in the Digital World more and more of late, sometimes at the behest of the Council in order to understand these even more foreign entities better. At their worst, inhabitants an come across as selfish, snobby, or as know it alls, but much of Witchelny's populace are kind, and readily welcome in any who would wish to learn from them. It can be said that Witchelny's currency and its main export are one in the same; knowledge.
Unfortunately, with this knowledge always comes those who would abuse it. In recent times, bands of Shamamon lead tribes of Goblimon to pursue raids on the cities, always pushed back by the city guards, and sinister Wisemon perform wicked rituals for eldritch knowledge, with some mutating into undead type Digimon, others being corrupted into Raremon, and the very lucky few becoming powerful demon types. The problem has become such that some of the cities give out bounties to those bold enough to bring in data remnants of these heretical casters. The worst of it, though, are the roving bands of Ogremon, which have learned to overpower and manipulate Cyclonemon as weapons.
In times of war, the Sages bring forth their great clerics, holy class Digimon who pray to the winds in honor of their ancient saviour, an act that gives their soldiers great morale and confers the "blessings of the wind" unto them, allowing them to fight on with the wind at their backs. While each domain has its own military, under order of their governing body, Witchelny as a whole has a dedicated army, known as the "Fangs of the Great Dragon" that serve as their defense as well as their vanguard.
