Tawna grew quiet, contemplating the doctor's words. They would have smirked at their willingness to do this with her... They really were in sync, together, weren't they? Your a good man doc, but don't think a few more sins is anymore a burden for me... she responded... allowing for the doctor to continue. Mercy this was not, but they were also not monsters... At least hopefully this Guilmon may find solace in their next life.
Before the Raguelmon could continue though in their execution of the Guilmon via statuefication, a shrill voice caused part of the Raguelmon to falter... it belonging to Haru; the goggle-wearing girl having a desperate look on their face. "Please stop!" she called out to the fallen angel. She... She couldn't look at this. None of this was right, even if it WAS in self-defense! "The fight is already over... This isn't who you two are!"
It was Tawna who first responded back to Haru, their voice echoing from their combined form's words. "... He will merely try to continue this damnable crusade, over and over again... I know that look in his eye. Someone who will never let the past die.... So we need to kill it for him. For the safety of both you and everyone in the Field Club... We have to do this." she spoke with a voice as determined and unwavering as the former Royal Knight's own spirit even facing against certain death... enough to cause even Haru to falter. "You cannot stop us Haru."

Heh...
Yes, these two were in sync - and if it were solely up to them, this effort would have taken less than a moment: the dragon would have been rend to gold and left to rot in the field, while its data would wander back to the Village of Beginnings. The two, in the end, might have convinced themselves that this was the right thing to do.
But there was Haru. Despite everything, the tamer's voice called out to the two of them, the Raguelmon's claws tensing slightly as they were forced to pause. The fight was over. This wasn't who they were.
Those words weren't enough to stop either of them - no. Mikemon and Tawna would both do what was necessary to protect themselves and the club. But even if those words weren't enough to stop them?
Tawna's were.
I know that look in his eye. Someone who will never let the past die.
"Tch..." Internally, the Mikemon hesitated. He realized then, something that both of them had forgotten since the start of this.
Just like us, huh?
Despite Tawna's own words, Mikemon forced his way to the forefront of the mind, practically wresting control of the situation away from Tawna. The nails lost their gold luster, the beast's claw instead cloaked in dark shadow, a number of careful tendrils prodding out. From the left and the right, these very thin needles would poke on through, the Guilmon letting out a slight cry of pain - before the rookie was dropped, alive, onto the ground.
"What... what did you..."
"Core sectors 2a and 3x. I've punctured them simultaneously, and sent your core into a northbound spin." The beast's tone was level, and careful, as he calmly spoke the truth: "You'll never Digivolve again, knight."
"Wait... you intend to-"
"She believes in you." At that tone, the Guilmon blinked - his attention drawn to the human, as the Raguelmon continued to speak. "So maybe you can make like us. Maybe you can find purpose in this life."
"... Tch!" The dragon wanted none of it. The Guilmon, eyes clenched shut, just lowered his head and ran, straight in the direction of Terminus.
The Raguelmon grew silent - eyes simply glossed over, as they looked on into the distance.

Tawna... Honestly, she was against sparing this red bastard. She really was... It just felt too risky. She loved Haru to death, but she couldn't allow herself to even allow for the risk that they could later to get hurt. She hated Mikemon's words, because she knew he was right. ... I don't agree with this at all... but fine she murmurred in the back of the DNA's head, letting the doctor do his thing.
Haru had held her breath during the ordeal... but to her surprise, the DNA'd Raguelmon not killing the Guilmon like she had thought they would... instead, sentencing the former royal knight to a very different fate entirely. She felt a shiver down her spine as the Rookie was pointed to her... an unsure look on her face. She didn't think the Guilmon was a nice person, but she didn't want him to die.
Tawna had remained silent throughout the entire ordeal... There really was nothing else to say now that the Guilmon ran off. All now there was is stew in both of their pasts in the present.
It was Haru who broke the silence, she stepping up to the tall fallen angel... a concerned look on her face. "... This IS you two, right?" she asked, tilting her head down in contemplation. "I... I just don't get it. Why was he so adamant about fighting? No one else wanted to fight..." she spoke, shutting her eyes. "He... He wasn't lying there, was he?"
Tawna practically choked... partially since she knew that she couldn't let herself lie. Not anymore. She paused, waiting for Mikemon himself... but it was clear that she wanted to tell the truth.

So long as you understand.
This wasn't easy for Mikemon to do, but honestly, this entire situation had put way more on the table than he could have ever imagined. Between having his past come back to bite at him, and having to fully open his heart to Tawna, this incarnation of Greed wondered if he had just made another mistake. The Gallantmon was fully justified in his actions, after all... just as they were justified in trying to claim the two of them.
As the fallen dragon knight ran off, the Raguelmon remained silent, both outward and inward. A sense of relief was mixed with tension between the Mikemon and the Meicoomon, both likely knowing there was going to be a tough talk coming forth. In that span, they had forgotten that Haru was there.
And once she spoke up, it was like a spike was driven right through Mikemon's core.
"He wasn't lying there, was he?"
Tawna knew the truth, at this point. Mikemon, giving an internal sigh, shook the Raguelmon's head. "The knight wasn't lying. His motives were pure."
However, Mikemon knew he couldn't speak for Tawna. Giving one simple nod, internally, the Raguelmon's form burst into light - the champion level, Mikemon, appearing once more as their combined form vanished. Falling briefly to a knee, the cat gave a glance downwards - Tawna's gloves gracing his hands. Tawna herself, in whatever form she would be in, wouldn't have Mikemon's gloves - but Barbamon's own cloak, suited for her size.
Had this been a kinder time to DNA, he might have found humor in that, but he simply found himself taking off those mirrored gauntlets. "... At this point, I'll listen to any questions you have. My own past actions caused all of this to happen - and put both yourself and Tawna at risk, for simply trying to protect me. You... you have no idea how grateful I am for you two right now."
The cat gave a sigh - eyes cast away from the tamer.
"I'm sorry. Both of you, I'm sorry."

Tawna could feel the echoes of Mikemon's own doubts and pain... After all, they were right now intertwined to the very core; that process was about to end though... It was for the best after all. The DNA soon split within a shimmering light, revealing their base forms... Albeit with Tawna missing the mirror-like gauntlets she had and instead draped in a stylish cloak of some sort; the Meicoomon least recognizing it as Mikemon's as she took it off and passed it off back to him... a pitiful look in her face.
"... He wasn't lying about me either. Before you Haru, I didn't have any inhibitions... I was just a feral beast." the maine coone softly mused, struggling to be able to look at her own tamer in the eye. To her surprise though, the girl's first action was getting down onto her knees and bringing the the two cats in for a hug.
"Its okay... Thats why you stayed quiet, right? We wouldn't have come if we didn't know there was something wrong." the girl softly assured the two cats, even stroking their fur slightly. "We're all friends... and friends help eachother. Even if you both did bad things in the past, you both have been trying so hard to make up for it. I... I couldn't just let you guys down like that."
Tawna remained quiet, closing her eyes. It was... a tender moment, but the ordeal was also emotionally draining for the cat. There were just so many unpleasant facts about her own past that she realized were inexcusable, and learning the doctor has a few hundred skeletons in his closet as well was rough. She let out a defeated sigh, gazing back at her tamer as the girl let go of them. "... You aren't mad at us?"
Haru grew quiet, the girl's face clearly showing that her morals were being challenged here... but in the end, she spoke her say on the matter. "I am disappointed. Disappointed that you guys hid this from us... but no, I am not mad." she softly spoke with a voice that was gentle as it was pure. "If you don't want to talk, its okay... but I would like to know the truth."

With the cloak handed back, Mikemon would give Tawna her own gloves back - and, with a quick flick of his wrist, he'd slip that cloak right back around his shoulders, vanishing on the spot as his own gloves 'appeared' once more.
None of this was easy, of course. Mikemon and Tawna had just laid their hearts and their pasts bare to Haru, and given the weight of their actions, neither of them could really blame her if she chose to run, to abandon them, or to consider them as monsters. However, that was not Haru. That could never be Haru.
Mikemon's eyes opened in widened surprise, as that hug wrapped right around his back. His arms still hung off to the side, held in the tamer's left arm. She hadn't left them, she hadn't abandoned them.
It was through her faith that their DNA form even existed to begin with.
Closing his own eyes, briefly returning that hug, the cat simply listened in silence. Haru wasn't mad, but that didn't make their actions any more tolerable. All the tamer wanted to know was the truth. At that, the doctor looked towards Tawna, giving a small nod, before looking right back at Haru.
"Of course. It'll be a long evening... but I'll tell you everything there is to know about me. It won't be easy to hear, but you deserve to know the truth." After such a long, emotional day, the cat managed a small smile.
"And, Haru... thank you."
