Heh. How long has it been since I've settled somewhere new?
Dr. Mikemon couldn't help but have a little smile on his face. For such a fledgling group, the Digital Field Club had gone a long way - with a couple successful expeditions under their belt, Ayumi's genius creating an indispensable tool for the researching world, and the group's own individual accomplishments, well, it was time to move up from that dingy office space in Shibuya. In coordination with Yukiko, the group managed to gather up enough funds for a respectable lot in the Network Plains.
This much, though, was born of a little bit of faith from the calico. Having taken residence in the Northeast Tower, the cat couldn't help but take a look out his window, seeing nothing but the calm, rolling expanse of the Network Plains. This space was all their own - and this part of the tower, Mikemon's declared 'den'. He had a small lab with his name on it just across the hall, and the space he was in now would function as a makeshift office and personal dorm - well, once he had the place settled in!
The cat sighed with a smile, turning away from his small siesta to get back to work. The bunk, the desk, and the closet had all been sorted - it was now just a matter of getting all the papers into place. Opening up a cardboard box, the cat gave a cough at the small plume of dust that erupted up.
"Right... been a while since I've looked at these texts. Sheesh."
Well, better get to work!

Things have been somewhat more turbulent recently in the past week or so, what with the still dreadful events of the Village of Beginnings incident along side the encounter with Shakamon. Stressful, yes... but both Digimon tamer and partner both seemed to have a newfound respect for the other now.
While Haru had yet to tell of anyone else of some of the most recent events she and Tawna had experienced, there was an exception to the rule with Mikemon. Something about the doctor and her clicked she felt, his incredibly open-minded nature having been nothing but help to her own psyche when it came to understanding both herself and Tawna. For someone who had a medical license, he was awfully good as a therapist as well.
Alongside Tawna in their Champion level form, the girl was making her way up to where the good doctor himself was hiding out in the Library... a tray of three shakes freshly bought back in the human world in her hands. Given, they were a lil' soft now as navigating this place was STILL a bit of a challenge (she doubted the club as a whole has explored the entirety of their new hideout yet)... but hey, it was the thought that counted! It was partially also a reward to herself and Tawna... for well, both trying to their best. They were sorting out the nuances of Mega level, which Haru was willing to tack off as a job well done between her and Tawna.
Of course, this visit to the doctor wasn't all fun, games and milkshakes... they were oweing him a check up on Tawna, one that frankly they DID kinda owe him. Hell, it was a bit overdue too... Her scarring from the attack from Arkadimon was already fairly healed, and she no longer felt pain on that side. Worst case scenario, she would learn something new to be cautious about when it came to her and Tawna's safety...
Neither have really dwelled heavily on the past couple days... Though both did seem to understand just what they did NEED to talk about.
Knocking on the door to Mikemon's office, Haru waited for a reply... letting herself in if so. "Your appointment is here doc! A lil' overdue, but she is here!" she happily greeted the calico cat, motioning slightly to Tawna by her legs.
"... Hello doctor." the Champion level greeted her fellow feline, giving the cat a nod... and even a faint smile, an odd gentleness to the Meicoomon's green schlera'd eyes.

Honestly, the Mikemon had intended to spend most of the day setting up his new office. As the 'fully employed' member of the Digital Field Club, it always felt like Mikemon was at least one click behind on the direct goings-on of the club. Sure, he always hit meetings on time, but for sudden events - and even the christening of the very building he had helped to organize - the feline was either late or absent. Hopefully, with a more central space to call his own and a portal to travel here whenever he needed to, he'd be able to be more on hand.
Of course, Dr. Mikemon wasn't the only one late on appointments! Hopefully the doc hadn't been rubbing off on her as a roommate, but he was supposed to have seen Tawna upwards of a week ago. But between Tawna's little break in the Digital World and the whole Shakamon incident - and really, Mikemon couldn't blame both of them needing space after that - it seemed like it was about to fall by the wayside. Well, if they were both going to be using the same base, then -
Ah, there it was. His ear twitched as he heard a knock at the door: "Yo, c'mon in!" As it opened, he turned to see Haru, Tawna, and a tray of milkshakes brought over from the human world! He gave a smirk at the last thing, giving a nod to both Tawna and the tamer. "Heh. No worries - it does seem like you've had a good handle on things. And hello to you." Mikemon gave a nod to Tawna.
"Well, if you want, we can just go ahead and get that out of the way? Let's, um..." He took a look over his shoulder, back to the unpacked boxes. "Yeah, let's use the hallway." Just in case, right?
First things first: he drew that crystal ball into his hand, giving his eyes a few moments to adjust to the lens. "Hope you don't mind this - my mind's been running a mile a minute all morning just organizing this whole space. But might as well knock this out so we can settle in later, right?" And with that reasoning, he gave a nod to Tawna:
"I need you to take whatever form you need, and bring Arkadimon's data to the front. I want to check the integration ratio, first."

While the passing feeling of worrying that Mikemon would perhaps be mildly annoyed at them taking so long for this checkup existed… Fortunately, the doctor seemed pretty patient with their tardiness overall, Haru breathing easy with that regard. “That’s a relief… I did get you a shake, but I wasn’t sure what flavor you would want, so I got vanilla and chocolates one that you could pick from.” she spoke, placing the tray of shakes on a counter as the doc suggested they move to the hallway. A curious suggestion, but not a hard one to do frankly. Gesturing Tawna to follow, the pair exited the room.
As they waited for Mikemon to prepare that crystal ball of his (something Tawna realized now was not exactly.. common to most Mikemon, but she wasn’t willing to argue or care too much about the useful tool’s presence), but she was at least ready for this procedure… though she still was uninformed on the specifics of why Mikemon wanted to do so. All she knew was it was something to do with that disgusting, disgrace of a Digimon… Arkadimon.
The Meicoomon’s expression seemed to grow… tense briefly.
“I understand that this data of Arkadimon’s is… malignant? That is least what I heard of.” Tawna asked the doctor, trying to at least understand the purpose of this endeavor a little more. “Any form will do? I can Digivolve to the form that I… well, loaded their data and integrated them in.”
Haru was taking a fair distance back from Tawna to give her and Mikemon some needed room, though she still remembered the dangers that Mikemon was willing to explain back at her own personal darkest hour about Arkadimon… and Meicoomon as a whole. Frankly, she was more comfortable leaving the technical data science mumbo-jumbo to the professional in the room… Purr-fesional? Yet another thing to never say ever again… “How about you give it a go Tawna? Meicrackmon Vicious Mode is your favorite form, right?” she suggested to her partner, giving them a reassuring smile.
“... Hmm.” the Meicoomon softly mumbled, though sure enough relented. Drawing power from her tamer and their Digivice, the Meicoomon was enveloped in light as they grew into a larger, feminine humanoid version of their prior form. The Meicrackmon Vicious Mode softly laid down on the ground on all fours, her stinger tail idle as she stared at Mikemon, giving him a gentle nod despite their red schlera’d eyes looking at him with… interest. She softly took a deep breath as she held out one of her claws… the feline hand suddenly taking on the shape of red tentacles arranged in a crude mockery of a hand as she attempted to bring that data to the surface. ”... This it, doc?”
It was awfully uncomfortable for her to say the least, what with natural instinct from both her own body and the Arkadimon’s own scripts telling her to let set said tentacles dart into the nearest targets, but the cat had a VERY strong will that more or less made shoving that thought away an easy task. Besides, there was always going to be someone who would be a way better target to stab later than her friends.
Still, a passing thought passed in her head.... would Mikemon see more than just Arkadimon’s data?
How much of her past was the doctor gonna unearth just now…?

"Let's be honest, bribing me with sweets to forget the tardiness is a pretty good strategy. Thanks, by the way - I'll go with the vanilla." Chocolate never really sat well with him - and he was more a soda cat, anyway - but he wasn't going to turn his nose at a free drink! Still, that was for a few minutes down the line - right now, Mikemon wanted to wrap up what he viewed as a loose end.
And that was finally setting the lid on this Arkadimon issue. Seeing Tawna's expression tense and that question asked, Mikemon shook his head: "The data you have is no more dangerous than any other Arkadimon, and unlike something 'malignant', its unable to spread from Digimon to Digimon without loading it. But yes, any form will do."
'Any form', as it turned out, was Tawna's bread-and-butter: MeiCrackmon's vicious form. Mikemon seemed fine with it, stepping back enough for the Digimon to have the room to change forms - and soon enough, one of those claws turned into an example of Arkadimon's tentacle. Carefully, the feline observed from a short distance, and gave a nod. "That's it. Hm..." Drawing that orb to his hand, he closed one eye, staring directly at the tendril itself - especially the part where it met the 'rest' of her arm. "Relative efficiency of absorption... seventy-three percent, give or take. You should be able to continue using this technique at your leisure, though note that keeping the tendrils out for minutes at a time will eventually cause your surface data to burn."
Simple enough, right? The feline let out a calm breath: "Well, that's what I would test for any Digimon loading. As for Arkadimon?" He stepped back again - and motioned for Haru to move behind him.
"I need you to build up as much energy as possible," the cat peered through the glass sphere, "As if you were building energy to Digivolve. Go as far as you think you can, without actually going to the next form. Think you can manage?"

Haru was giving Mikemon and Tawna a fair bit of room when it came to the process of scanning... though she did visibly flinch as Tawna brought out the Arkadimon tentacles. Mikemon's little diagnosis seemed to imply at the very least that the absorption seemed... smooth? "73%? Is... Is that good though?" she ended up asking, though did seem to hesitate at the mention of surface data burning with continued use of the tendrils. "Y-yeesh... Is it really that dangerous loading Digimon data...?"
Tawna was... experienced to say the least with the process. She wasn't knowledgeable about the scientific portion of Digimon data, but she knew how it FELT. "Loading Digimon data is straining, Haru. You are incorporating a foreign Digimon's data entirely into your being, and if you do not reign control over it... well, it can very well overtake you and kill you as well. You need a very strong Digicore to handle and process it all for it to... acclimate." the Ultimate level spoke, she giving a brief nod to Mikemon as Haru stayed behind the calico cat.
He wanted her to avoid Digivolving to Mega...? That seemed simple enough... though she was willing to admit, Mega level was not something either she or Haru were still used to managing. Still, it couldn't have been difficult to channel that power and not Digivolve... could it have been?
The Meicrackmon Vicious Mode took a couple steps back as she took a deep breath, shifting her hand back into it's original shape and flexing it. Tawna let out a soft growl, channelling power drawn from Haru (the girl's heartrate jumping somewhat as they felt a mild burning sensation within them). The Ultimate level's form had black particles seem to idly materialize around her, she slowly attempting to try and increment the energy building within her... surprisingly more tricky than actually SUSTAINING the form it felt, Tawna gritting her teeth as she for a moment backed off as her growling grew in intensity.
She thought she would have been able to manage it... but giving even some leeway proved to be a mistake. In a sudden burst of power (enough to probably cause Haru and Mikemon to lose balance briefly), the feline Digimon's form expanding in size to fill up the hallway's width as they went down to all fours as their form glew, revealing the shape of their Mega level.
The Raguelmon growled in frustration as she opted to sit down (being somewhat too tall to stand properly in the hallway), the plating that covered the bestial angel Digimon's face retracting as she bore her teeth. "... Tch. Damn it. That SHOULD have been easy..."
Haru seemed to have recoiled slightly from her partner's sudden Digivolution, though for the most part seemed fine... just startled. That was... surprising to say the least, and perhaps didn't give much hope in regards to if Tawna was fine. She tried to count how many seconds had passed, but she doubt they even managed half a minute there. Still, she wanted to least believe that the Raguelmon had made her best effort... She didn't know how it felt quite, but she could tell that Tawna was disappointed in themself. "Hey, it's alright Tawna... You aren't used to using Mega level, right?"
The Raguelmon seemed to tilt her head somewhat away from Haru and Mikemon, a look of disappointment on their face. "... Not good enough though." they let out a soft growl, shaking their head slightly. Embarassing, yes... but she did try to avoid Digivolving. The fact that was not good enough though did worry her somewhat.

Right, the numbers probably meant little to Haru - and Tawna, to be perfectly honest. Hearing Haru's reasonable question and Tawna's follow-up, Mikemon gave a nod. "If the acclimation rate is too low, it means that it mostly ended up fading into the background data of the Digimon - and if its too high, that means that the absorbed data has the potential to take over or harm the host. As a rule of thumb, the 'sweet' range a doctor looks for is between fifty and eighty percent. Even then, its impossible to fully use a foreign source of data."
That said, Tawna's explanation was quite adequate as to give why a higher number would be risky. "It's a tricky subject. I've dealt with a lot of first-time cases where the results went wrong. Anyway..." Onto the next - and far more interesting - part of the diagnosis.
Just how long could Tawna build up energy before she flipped over to her mega form? The MeiCrackmon understood the direction, and as soon as Mikemon felt that energy start to well, the cat peered through the orb, keeping a metal timer in his head. Naturally, Tawna's process drew energy from Haru as well, even the light of her Digivice starting to glow from the process. It took Tawna a moment to realize just how tricky this was, but for at least a little while, she managed to maintain -
Whoops, strike that! Taking a step back to brace himself - and possibly even hearing Haru fall backwards behind him - the Mikemon blinked, now looking towards Tawna's mega form. Perhaps this was the first time that Tawna seemed so disappointed to be in it, the poor mega crossing her arms as she tried to relax in the hall.
"Twelve seconds? Honestly," the cat started, "that's a better sign than I was expecting." And now for the part Tawna probably didn't know: "Arkadimon are 'Digimon of fluid form' - they maintain the same name and species traits from Fresh to Mega, and its a benefit that only that species can properly take advantage of. Loading that trait into another Digimon weakens the 'barrier threshold' a Digimon has when they change forms. It doesn't mean you need less energy to transform, but it means that it takes less 'intent' to take on your higher and lower forms. That said, hang there for a second."
The cat spun the crystal ball in his hand, peering into it as he circled around to Tawna's side. It had been a while since he'd taken a look into the data of anything in the Meicoomon family, but he was really just taking a quick glance. He gave a blink, seeing 'something', before giving a shrug. "Hm. You'll be fine, though. The damage isn't bad enough that you'll randomly change forms. Actually, just caught a glimpse of something else."
What was it - an altercation in her data? A glitch she hadn't seen? Vast amounts of consumed data?
"Your data type in mega's remarkably similar to my own."
... Wait, what, that was it? The cat chuckled: "Wouldn't guess it just be looking, but it just is. Virus, Beast, and BB+ subtype. Alright, you can power down now if ya want."

The fact that she only managed to keep her Ultimate level from evolving for a mere dozen seconds felt... off to Tawna. She COULD have done better, but guess that damned Arkadimon data had a hand in making it trickier for her to not be as "trigger-happy" about evolving. "Still, I would hope to avoid Digivolving or Degenerating when unnecessary if I can manage it." the Raguelmon calmly spoke, oddly so for something as ferocious looking as their current shape.
"Just I guess means you have to be a little more careful of thinking about it I guess." Haru mused. It made sense for Digimon to have to will their Digivolution and Degenerations, but she did of course have the fear that the feline Digimon might shift to a form like Raguelmon at the wrong time... like at her apartment. Yeesh, that would have been difficult to explain to the owners... She already had ONE hole caused by Tawna in one of the spare rooms, she didn't need more property damage if they could avoid it.
Tawna paused as Mikemon seemed to look a bit more indepthly in her data, a mildly confused look forming on the Raguelmon's face. "I'm not good at understanding the technical jargon I admit... but I trust your word doctor." she quietly spoke, taking up his suggestion as the Raguelmon's form shrunk massively back down in size... all that remained being Tawna in their Champion level once more. Frankly, she was just glad there wasn't any real damage it seemed from absorbing the Arkadimon in the long run... meant she could at least use her new toy somewhat confidently.
Haru on the otherhand was trying to keep up with Mikemon, tilting her head curiously. Honestly... was it surprising that their data was kinda similar? They both were cats, it was just that Tawna's Mega was more a giant beefcake cat angel than just being... well, almost completely identical to one's Champion level like Mikemon's. Well, Haru wasn't one to question against the doc (after all, he knew more about Digimon than anyone else in the club probably). "So... BB+? Wh-What's that?" she ended up asking, not familiar to what the letters and numbers meant... though she at least had a theory. "Is... is that actually like a blood type?"

The results might have been frustrating, but at the very least, Tawna wasn't completely in the rough with Arkadimon's added data. As both Haru and the Raguelmon mused over the consequences, Dr. Mikemon returned a nod. "My only concern here was to see if Tawna needed any sort of treatment to hold the data back. As it stands, she'll be fine as is." The prior concern had left the doctor's voice - and at Tawna's comment at technical jargon, he just gave a laugh.
"Hah, no concerns there: it's my job to know the jargon!" He couldn't expect the others in the club to know nearly as much about data and digital medicine as he did! Fortunately, there was little issue with Tawna returning to her natural state as a Meicoomon - and with a tilt of his head, he invited the two back into his office. No point letting those shakes go to waste, right? Plucking one out of the drink container - and giving a quick glance at the lid to confirm it was, indeed, vanilla, he took a sip. His ear twitched at Haru's follow-up.
What did those letters mean? The cat actually gave an embarrassed blush! "Er... right, technical jargon!" He chuckled, giving a nod to the tamer's guess. "It's sort of like blood type, though there's generally no harm in cross-contaminating data on our side. Its why loading Digimon works, after all." Let's see... how would he explain it? "The first letter largely relates to family. Mizu would be an 'A' for 'Aquatic'; Tawna and I are 'B' for 'Beast'; Dio would be an 'I' for Demon. 'D' stands for 'Dragon', 'P' for 'Plant', and 'M' for 'Machine'." It was a bit technical, but that much would be easy enough to follow.
"The second is a little tricky, and its something one can only see with code, but its essentially one of those same letters picked at random. It can sometimes give a hint at secondary Digivolution lines, but its not a hundred percent. The third mark, 'plus' or 'minus', is actually just the direction our Digital Cores spin. In this case, Tawna's BB+, and I'm BB-."
That would likely satisfy Haru's curiosity, but did that mean much, in the end? Actually, it did: taking another sip of his milkshake, the Mikemon flicked at the straw. "Curious to say, but that specific set of data makes us potential DNA partners." The cat's tone was matter-of-fact at this point, simply stating that as an interesting fact!

Tawna even now had a hard time expressing her own gratitude and thanks at times, it always feeling off to do so around others… however, this did not mean she wasn’t appreciative of what others have done for her. K, Mikemon, Haru… all were people that in a way have played parts in helping her sort out her own messed-up life. “I appreciate the help Mikemon, though I am sure I would have been fine. Meicoomon can stomach a lot of things.” the Meicoomon lightly smiled, happily sipping a cookies and cream shake Haru had set for her, though the look in their eye was a bit… solemn. ”... Seems even this D-Reaper gunk isn’t spicy enough for some of us.”
It didn’t take Haru long for her to realize what Tawna was talking about. That Meicoomon that Carlos had to go help take care of… She remembered initially reading about it and being shocked at what she read… Digimon willing to destroy the area just to prevent a feral Meicoomon from growing. It was bizarre in a way knowing her partner was just like one of these Meicoomon, or at least ONCE was. She… still had yet to talk about it more indepth with Tawna, having not wanted to push the issue. “... Tawna, we don’t nee-”
“No no, there isn’t a need to hide it. I refuse to dance around the fact that plenty of my kind are data-gluttonous monsters. That Meicoomon was too foregone to allow to live.” the small cat immediately refuted, not wanting to avoid the topic if it came up. Frankly, she wanted to finally come clean about herself… but she wanted the perfect moment to do so. For now, her sins were hers to bare alone. “It’s… just something I am coming to terms with.”
Haru merely gave her partner a mildly concerned look, though ultimately opted to let it fly for now. She didn’t want to push Tawna… she knew that it was way more difficult for them than it was for her. She shifted her attention back to Mikemon. “... So, does the data type change with form? I kinda can imagine as so of you Digimon look SUPER different when you Digivolve.” she theorized briefly. Sure it was just a guess, but she felt she was getting there when it came to make educated guesses now when it came to Digimon. “So if your data is similar enough that it could plug in with eachother… does that mean its possible for you two to DNA?”
Tawna lightly shrugged at the prospect, though it was clear that they seemed… conflicted about the idea. “Anything is possible… but I don’t think I should ever fuse with anyone.” she quietly spoke as she took another sip of her drink, her eyes drifting down at her tail by her side. “... It's just better that way.”

What Tawna said was true - Meicoomon, in addition to the D-Reaper and Arkadimon himself - were on Mikemon's short list for 'dangerous and unstable data'. The fact that Tawna was a Meicoomon likely mitigated the worst of the damage that the abhorrent data could have caused. In fact, she was quick to point out that incident in the Dark Area - the Meicoomon who made use of the D-Reaper itself.
Unsurprisingly, this brought a bit of discomfort to the conversation, though Mikemon was quick to add his own take: "Honestly, I'll need to see if Carlos managed to get any data on that with the scanner. If there's something there that'll help D-Reaper victims, I want to make use of it." Still, it was definitely a sore subject, and as Haru countered, the doctor skirted himself away from the topic. After all, Tawna was becoming more and more aware of the elephant in the room.
That her species consisted of dangerous monsters. That they were threats the world had to deal with.
Tawna's own tone was near neutral, but it pushed the room to a small bit of silence, Mikemon quietly taking another sip from his milkshake. The cat wanted to say something right then, but honestly, he couldn't come up with anything - and as Haru changed the topic, Mikemon gave a nod, latching onto the change. "Of course - the first letter has the most flexibility, but every bit can change between forms." That much was obvious - and as for the bit about a DNA form between Tawna and Mikemon?
Well, 'yes and no'. Tawna was quick to bring up her point, and the Mikemon gave a shrug: "Sorry to say, but its close to the same case for me. You've seen how I become 'mega', of course: I barely change shape and my data structure stays mostly the same. I'm honestly unsure if I'm even capable of fusing with this form at all." Past that, he wasn't about to press Tawna to try something she didn't want to do - so once more, the cat changed the topic.
"Medical stuff aside - I hardly believe we managed to snap up this place. Sure, real estate's cheap out in the Network Plains, but a... a..." the cat set down his drink, taking a moment to sneeze into his glove. "... A mobile base?" He sniffed, shaking his head. "Between this and the scanner, Ayumi's got quite the head on her. Where did you end up parking yourselves in here?"

Haru did visibly wince slightly regarding that one D-Reaper'd up Meicoomon. It sounded like it was both a harrowing experience, but the fact that the Meicoomon's data was still out there was a bit of a scary thought. Carlos mentioned that their data was taken by a Renamon with a Xros Loader, though the question was... why? Considering it managed to take on three separate parties and almost win... she was rightfully worried what could happen if that thing got loose again. "... Are you a bit worried that Meicoomon is still out there...? Considering how scary they can be normally, but hyped up with D-Reaper stuff... its like a ticking time bomb just WAITING to happen. Do we even know who took it's data?" the girl questioned, clearly uncomfortable with the knowledge that thing was still out there.
Tawna remained quiet, though the look on their face visibly displayed a solemn anger that the cat was restraining. It was clear that particular Meicoomon was a lost cause... so why? What would be so interested in them? A low growl came from thr Champion level's throat, struggling to try and find an answer herself. All she knew now was she wouldn't have left them alive in any capacity... She was the one with the stronger will after all, not them.
On the plus side, she and Mikemon at least seemed to be pretty mutual in the aspect of a DNA probably being an impossibility. Even if she could would it have even been wise fusing with a creature like her? Her kind was not only corrupt in nature, but it wouldn't be merely her own data they would be mingling with after all... "I'm just saying that I feel we've all come to the conclusion that my kind is bad news for the most part, and it would be much less risk overall."
Haru sighed in relief at least hearing the change in conversational topic... They all could use one frankly. "Its kinda swanky, isn't it? No idea how Ayumi and Usako snatched this place up, but its amazing! Just look at the view from here!" she somewhat cheerfully spoke as she set her shake down, shifting up the blinds for one of the windows in the doctor's room... a wide view of the Network Plains for miles visible. "As for me... I just kinda have some of my extra junk stored like second floor in the east wing... like my game consoles! I still gotta do human world junk with my job at the grocier, but I figured I can shove them here and Tawna can bunk here while I'm gone! A BlackLunamon may stop by from time to time too... She's been calling me her boss, but she's mostly harmless... Just leave Tawna to keeping them in-line."
The feline Digimon seemed to sneer slightly at that last comment, rolling their eyes slightly. "Bleh. Easier said than done."

Yes, the D-Reaper Meicoomon was a debacle all its own, wasn't it? Haru's concern was well warranted, the doctor mulling the thought a bit in his head. "It's definitely a bit concerning that someone would risk taking that data. As for who, well, thankfully Xros Generals are few and far between - though I really only know his name. 'Denryu'."
One could only speculate, at this point, what the general's intentions were, but at the very least, his partner seemed willing to leave Carlos and the rest alone. Tawna's discomfort to the whole situation could be felt brimming in the room (and who could blame her?), but it was little more than a curiosity at this point. Would this end up biting them in the butt? Maybe!
But for now, and with the topic of the two cats being potential DNA partners behind them, the conversation moved onto a more casual tone! "Well, I helped out a bit for it - but I would have never thought of this design." Hopping up onto the windowsill, he took a look off to the distance, smiling as he looked off to the distance. His ear twitched as Haru started to speak about her own quarters - what she had brought over, the Black Lunamon that would be stopping by, and Tawna's slight discomfort with the mercenary all slipped into his listening ear...
... And slipped, right back out the other. To be honest, Mikemon hadn't comprehended a single word she had just said, an uncharacteristic silence filling the air around him. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, the doctor seemed 'spaced out' for a moment... that, or he was really focused on that tree off on the distance.
"Uh, yeah..." Passing off that as an answer to the comment, the doctor shook his head, and turned to face the tamer. "Sorry, I just remembered something - guess all this stuff with the base has thrown off my schedule for a bit. Going to have to catch a train back to Terminus - I'll be back around here in say, three hours?" His tone rolled well enough, as the cat bounced off the windowsill - past the milkshake on the desk - and out towards the door of his office.
"I'll catch ya both later, alright?" He gave a pause, before muttering a word that Haru might note that the doctor had never said before:
"Goodbye."

While Haru talked, she had not exactly considered the possibility right now that the doctor wasn't acually listening... After all, he didn't seem like that kinda guy who would just start acting all funky for no reason. Frankly, she just sort of took Mikemon's quietness as just perhaps the conversation not being too interesting to go any further. The girl instead idly plopped herself onto one of the chairs in the doctor's office.
Tawna on the otherhand was mildly more aware of the doctor's odd behavior... the way he almost seemed to tense up. That wasn't the way someone acted while idle at a safe place such as this, with friends... that was fear. The Meicoomon didn't try to bother Mikemon, but she was concerned as to what the doctor was feeling right now.
Haru for the most part on the otherhand didn't register that perhaps Mikemon's next couple words were not quite genuine... she having merely accepted the doctor's words as face. "Well, alright. Take care Mikemon!" the girl pluckily spoke as Mikemon made his way out of the office... only with the way he said goodbye causing the girl to pause.
... Was it just her imagination, or was the calico acting really off right now?
Maybe not... The girl shook her head slightly as she soon finished up her own drink, motioning Tawna to follow her as they exited out of the doc's room a couple minutes later as she andTawna began making their way down the hallway of the library. "... Yo, Tawna? Do you get the feeling Mikemon was acting kinda weird a bit ago?" she ended up idly asking the small cat by her side, dropping off some of their garbage in a nearby trashcan.
"... I mean, maybe...? He seemed scared." Tawna quietly responded. She had not spoke up back then, but now she was unsure of if that was the best course of action. If there was something the doctor was afraid of... What could it have possibly have been? "... Haru, I have a bad feeling... A genuinely bad feeling in my gut."

Yeah... take care, and stay safe, you two.
Mikemon's last comment to them was simply said in his head - and as Haru and Tawna didn't immediately follow, Mikemon made his way down the hall. He calmly made his way to the elevator, and even exited The Great Moving Library out by the front door. However, the cat didn't make his way to the nearby Trailmon Station. Instead, he turned, setting out due north. Once he was sure no-one was following, the doctor set himself on all fours, and started to run.
That sneeze. Tch - it was a weird quirk, but one that had managed to save his own hide a couple of times. As sensitive as the Mikemon was to data signals, occasionally something would enter his range with a powerful or unique data signal - and, occasionally, due to that difference in 'pressure', Mikemon would sneeze. Of course, that could have just been by the dusty boxes in the room - but setting himself on the window, expanding his search range, he confirmed it.
Something was approaching the Great Library from the east. And as Mikemon made his way north, his worst fear was confirmed: whoever was approaching had changed direction, actively pursuing his own data signal. But why? Damn it, I could never get it perfect. Anyone who can sense data like I can, whose looking for me, can pick me out.
The only question that remained was this:
Was this Digimon who was looking for the Demon Lord an admirer or an adversary? In either case, Mikemon kept his pace north, attempting to draw the target away from the Great Library.
It would be a good nine or ten minutes later - perhaps Haru was at the Great Library, or perhaps she had gone out to check the Trailmon Station - to which she would find that Mikemon wasn't there, despite there not being the sound of a Trailmon's whistle between the time Mikemon left and the time she would arrive. Regardless, she would hear a familiar sound - whatever sound she had set to signal that a new entry had been added via the Super Scanner.
As for the entry itself?
Species: Gallantmon Level: Super Mega Attribute: Vaccine Family: Wind Guardian Type: Exalted Warrior
Techniques:
Lightning Joust Shield of the Just Holy Ward Spiral Saver Dragon Flame
Submitting Party: Cat M.D. Well. Tawna's gut feeling might have been on the money.
