Don't go to the north for a month, don't tell others about his connection with gracenovamon, don't do this or don't do that. K hadn't done any of those things as he had asked; why? She didn't want to risk the fact that her family could of gotten hurt. Instead she had maintained a healthy distance from those that she cared about for a short time; trying to sort out how best to approach this entire fiasco.
The renamon had spent so much time debilitating she felt the cold ache of Silence deep within her try to sooth her. Try to speak with her in the way that they could; through small things and actions. They both knew it'd be okay, that they'd both make it through this.
But it wasn't them that K was worried about; it was everyone she cared for. Everyone that sprung to her mind when she thought of friends or family. So when a note came to her in an unmarked envelope left by eyes of red and skin of the purest black she didn't question it. She tucked the letter away and waited for a time when she could read it. It took hours for her to be able to have a bit of privacy away from her friends and family. She didn't push for her to be alone but she seemed wary of them for a small frame of time.
Eventually she opened the letter and read it's contents, understanding the instructions and letting out a soft sigh. Flicking her wrist she'd destroy the letter and the envelope without hesitation. No paper trail, no chance for someone finding out that she was doing this unless they followed her.
So what did she do? She waited till the moon rose high in the sky; like directed she'd find herself in the 'downtown' of whitewater. In the broken down and run down buildings that sang of better days. That weeped tears for those that no longer cared for them. Decrepit, wretched husks that were long since abandoned for better days or places.
She pushed through a particular door; one with a red X on it. It was the sign they told her to look for. The building itself had been slated for destruction the next day; either through their tamperings or for the fact that they knew this would leave even less of a trace. She cared very little the reason and pushed in, looking around for a moment before quietly shutting the door.
And so did she settle down in a chair nearest the window, as instructed as told. She'd gaze out to the moon, watching it quietly as the red tint started to take over it. They had said over the last few weeks that the harvest moon was coming early this year for some reason; but harvest moons were rarely blood red...

If K had been followed, the meeting in this abandoned building would not have happened at all. Here in the dead of night, the sounds of the lively city had all but faded away, only the distance of the wake crashing against the shore filling the ears. Absent this sound, K would find herself sitting in a dreary silence, left to bask in the calm, crimson moonlight.
Minutes passed, but as it stood, they might have felt like hours - but eventually, K would finally catch a glimpse of something: a static-filled white apparition, its near ghastly gaze filling the room in its sickly light. No, this wasn't the appearance of a phantom: the Renamon would find herself, after so many countless years, finally face-to-face with that figure:
Wisemon. Though, perhaps 'face to face' was a bit of a misnomer: this was clearly a projection, the sorcerer's body translucent and image imperfect. Perhaps this made sense - what kind of contract would this be if the sorcerer simply appeared to be run through by Jesmon's blade? Still, even this apparition seemed worse for wear, his cloak tattered, the Wisemon favoring one leg over the other.
"Ah, K, hello there." Despite that, the sorcerer's tone was as cheery as ever, a soft chuckle held in his voice. "Was the walk over okay? Nothing else is going to remain consistent, but should you see a message with a red X - and a little notch on the top-right corner - then you should pick it up in the future. Ah, but I digress..."
He coughed, clearing his throat: "Unfortunately for me, that little expedition to the north hadn't gone as planned - no fault of you, of course - but it does mean I have to fall to a back-up plan. So tell me... how well do you think you could handle entering Luminas, as you are?"

K sat, quietly. Patiently; staring up at the sky for what seemed like hours. Blinking as she caught sight of what appeared to be a static filled apperation out of surprise. She had anticipated meeting someone here; perhaps another helper of the wisemon but she wasn't expecting any sort of 'face' time. She'd frown slightly and take in the fact that her 'boss' was injured. Ultimately were he here, there was a chance that she could of run him through and been done with it but as it was he still had the edge of her not knowing where he was.
Slowly but certainly she'd stand up flicking her ears a little bit. Her silence continued at his greeting. The frown persisted for a moment or two before she nodded at his question. He'd continue with the fact that she should pick up any messages with that red X and notch on the top right corner. More instructions to remember; but they were all easy. She'd fold her arms and rub her muzzle with one hand.
"Unfortunate being the term yes, but for others I imagine it's relieving that you didn't accomplish what you wanted. But that matters little to me if you succede in ventures without me there and being 'instructed' in some manner."
She'd furrow her brow a little bit and rub her muzzle again. His question making her pause considerably.
"As I am? I can last for four minutes in Jesmon form, two in Examon if it came to fighting at top tier. As for friendly ventures I would be well received as an apostle; so I'd be able to handle attention easily as my typing changed to vaccine rather than data."
She'd grit her teeth and let out a slow exhale.
"I have one minute in another form, but it's... nothing that I think I can rely on fully. If it's combat you desire I can do so, but attacking luminas might be well outside of my power. What do you need me to do?"

"Mm? Pardon me, I think I misheard you, dear Renamon." Wisemon gave a chuckle at K's offhand comment: "I think you'll, in time, find that my ventures are very relevant to you. The more I succeed, the easier your life will become." Well, well - he wasn't just looking for a mercenary, but a loyal servant?
That light chide might have been K's one hint to change her tone. For the rest of her explanation, the wizard nodded, going along easily enough with her combat capabilities: "Mm... push comes to shove, I guess, but your Renamon form will be more than enough for what I have in mind." 'Handwaving' the rest off to the side, the wizard's tone changed, a strong hint that he was getting right down to business.
"See, the group that was assigned... 'opposite me' at the Northern Prominence were sent by a council in Luminas. To clarify, its just the grounds by which the group meets - but you know as well as I that the angels are suspicious of anything on their grounds." The Wisemon gave a grin: "I'm sure that somewhere, an angel has records, documents... perhaps even a full telling of what happened off in the north. And should an angel have it, they wouldn't be able to tell anyone that their records went missing, because they would have to admit to having them in the first place."
The Wisemon smirked, circling once around the fox: "See what I'm getting at? You have three days before I send another note, to Whitewater. I don't care how you do it. Just get the record, my dear."

K blinked a little bit as the wisemon spoke; she was quick to pick up on the subtle hints that he was placing down and with a soft sigh she'd dip her head in a nod. It was frustrating to play this game; it was frustrating to do just about anything with this digimon but she had to do it didn't she? If she wanted to keep them safe.
"I see."
She'd roll her shoulders and rub her muzzle surprise etched in her face however when he said that her renamon form would be more than enough for what he had in mind. She'd remain quiet flicking her ears a little bit as the wisemon started to explain what was going on. The opposing group in the northern prominence that was sent by the council. Then stating that the angels were suspicious of anything on their grounds. She knew that far too well; but that grin made the renamon shudder a little bit. Then there was that next bit where that somewhere there were records, documents and perhaps a full telling. Were an angel to have it they wouldn't be able to tell anyone that their records were missing.
"I understand."
There were thousands if not hundreds of thousands of different ways that she could go about this. Brute force didn't seem to be the option she wanted to rely on, diplomacy wouldn't work... So she'd have to settle in on stealth up until she was compromised. She'd glance at the wisemon as he circled around her. She had a three day time table before his next note. She better have it by then else there likely would be consequences.
She felt her skin crawl however when he called her dear, she'd suppress a nasty shudder and ran a few digits through her fur.
"Anything else?"

"Oh, so direct and to the point! But for Luminas, such an attitude will help you fit right in."
At the very least, it seemed that K understood her role in all of this - sneak in there, steal a record, and present it back to Wisemon. K had enough time to think, but not enough to sit around - even the trip up and back from Luminas would take a full day on its own, in total. Asking for further instruction?
"Just remember, if you're caught, it has nothing to do with me - though for your sake, I'd try and find a way to weasel out of it. Luminas does not take well to criminals in their judicial system." He gave a shrug at that - but with her order given, all the Wisemon could do was leave her on one more note:
"Succeed well enough here and the tasks will stay as they are. To tell you the truth, after the north, I'm not too fond of the 'mercenary' type - but maybe you'll prove me wrong." He gave a hopeful chuckle - oh dear, was K's freedom really on the line here? What about for Mikemon or Syre?
That thought would have to wait in the air - on that very note, the wizard vanished on the spot.
"Good luck, my dear." That last haunting voice echoed through the empty room...

The renamon blinked again at the mention of her being able to fit right in with the attitude that she was having with the wisemon. She didn't really know what to say to that so she simply remained quiet. She had soem ideas of what she could do in order to sneak in and deal with all of these.
The renamon let out a little sigh and ran a hand through her fur again; musing over the idea of several different escape vectors ranging from simply talking her way out of it to just shifting to jesmon and warping out. Though she doubted the last one would go over so well in the heart of the angel's city.
Gritting her teeth she'd dip her head a nod. She'd blink a little bit however as he made more insinuations. She felt her heart drop when he said he wasn't fond of the mercenary type. She wasn't a merc for him! He was blackmailing her to do this in order to keep her... No. She basically was a merc in this situation as she was getting something out of it. She looked like she wanted to say something, but the idea of her succeeding well enough to make these tasks stay... 'simple' was enough to keep her quiet.
Then she was left alone with the ideas that he had planted and with a firm grunt she'd move out of the building proper. Avoiding people when she could and where she could. For now? She would get to the outer city limits shifting her data so that she could feel the MetalGarurumon-x data surface and take hold of her. The blinding light that followed was only crested with the sudden rocketing speed that she pushed out with her Combat Thrusters/Jump jets.
It would certainly still take her half a day to get there; she didn't want to push herself completely and deplete any resources that she had. Upon entry of the angel's airspace she made sure to be careful to follow any traffic or security forces that met her. Touching down in what amounted to the 'entry' of luminas before shifting to her renamon form. The cape billowing as she continued to walk forward. If anything she looked like a mon on a mission...

At the very least, K wasn't the type of Digimon who would stand out too much in the City of Luminas. As a white fox bearing Jesmon's symbol, she would earn a few passing glances and tilted heads - but as the very symbolism was that of light and honor, none would dare stop her on the streets, or question why she was here.
If she'd ever been to Luminas before this holy form had been acquired, she'd notice the difference straight away.
That said, intent as she was walking, did K even have a lead to go on? It wasn't as if the civilians of Luminas themselves would hold anything: around here, most talked idle chatter, not daring to say too much near the city's entrance. A bit north was a marketplace, and nearer the center of the city was a political sector... past that? There were so many ways to go about this, that one might forget that she was trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Heck - all of this assumed that the reporting group even gave information to Luminas at all! Right now, it was up to K to try and figure out a plan!

K ignored the tilted heads, the passing glances and the general reaction that she got from the crowd. She wasn't here to deal with them; as much as it pained her to say. She didn't have much in the way of connections in luminas; nor did she really not much about the city other than what she had heard from those in whitewater and terminus.
The renamon considered her options as she walked; a marketplace would be good for items and the like. But it wasn't something that would draw her in, the political center was something that she could perhaps use if she could get someone to give her the location of the group from the north.
Honestly her best bet was to look into the marketplace for possible connections or places that might look seedy enough to give her a little bit of information for her bits. Or if she got lucky and ran into someone that might have the right knowledge or even part of the group that went to the north. The problem was trying to figure out whom it was.
So of course this meant that the fox took her time walking through the marketplace; ice blue eyes sweeping and looking carefully over what shops there was. General stores would be the prime location type she'd look for, followed by 'information' vendors.
Though she'd be rather subtle about the latter of the two as she didn't want to draw attention. She simply indicated that she was looking for a particular group of individuals that she had heard about and wished to contact them. Or at least get the attention of one or two of them...

Well, the market would have been a good place to find general gossip - but perhaps not the story she was looking for.
Sure, even in Luminas, the General Store was a rumor mill - but it seemed that there was deeds that even the shopkeep here wouldn't know about, the Angemon on hand giving a shrug. "Sorry, don't deal in Council business. That's all kept under wrap, anyway." Of course, informational 'booths' would say the same, simply saying that there was an incident up north - either K's approach was too direct, or the honest-sounding members of the marketplace simply had nothing to say.
Well, maybe not - a few stores in, the Renamon might notice a bit of whispering in the background - particularly between the guards. Perhaps sneaking around the trail of one of them would be better suited for her work?
Or, perhaps, did K ask too much already?

K wasn't terribly surprised at the fact that most of the marketplace had seemed to be a bust. So the northern incident was under wraps and was council business. Which gave her plenty of information to work off of already. Nodding in understanding to the angemon that told her as much she'd pardon herself.
"Thank you for your time."
Now the question that plagued her mind was, who were the council members. Which of them would of led the northern forces primarily and failing the leading of who would of had them go? Being part of the council meant that they had serious tug and pull, any records that they had would be heavily under guard.
The renamon paused however when she noticed the whispering, her eyes sweeping and locking onto the guards in question. She'd grit her teeth a little bit; she'd lean against a wall nearby to the guards. Making sure not to seem terribly interested in what they were talking about; even going so far as to watch people. She'd wait for the two guards that were whispering to one another to split up before following one of them. She had to follow every lead avaliable to her, regardless of how bad it could be.
Else the renamon might just have to start picking council member estates and bombing them in an effort to destroy the records. The wisemon wanted the records out of their hands right? At the very least she could make sure that they wouldn't have the information of all things.
The very last option to her was to hope that mikemon had the information required and could perhaps do her a favor to keep the whole nonsense under wraps under the guise of wanting people not to panic at all... before making off with the information herself.

It was a lead, but a small one to go off on - and it didn't help her to know that the Council had dictated the orders, if she didn't know the identity of the Council itself! Wisemon's idea would start to make sense - why try and find this primary information if an angel was already looking into it - but how would she find one? By chance, a needle in the haystack?
Apparently, that was her current plan: K followed the Andromon guard out from his post, away from the market towards a residential district. The machine itself didn't seem like it cared much about K's presence - though whether he sensed her or not was quite difficult to tell.
That would be up to K's judgement - with little more than a glance over his shoulder to check, the machine-type Ultimate turned towards an alley, and started walking off into the darkness, away from the main road. Down there, the only exit would be the very way that K came in, and perhaps one or two doors between the buildings. Was this a trap, or was the Andromon trying to slip out of sight?

Even with the lead being as small as it was, what could the renamon do? The only person that she knew of that was a council member was one of the very people she was trying to bloody well protect. She'd grit her teeth as she continued to follow the andromon guard away from his post.
She had very little to go on, and the whispering had drawn her attention. The fact that it was heading towards the residential district gave her a thoughtful pause here or there. She wasn't sure where else it had to go or where it was posted, perhaps she was just following it out of curiosity... or by the sheer lucky chance she'd get something from this. Not knowing if the guard knew she was following or not didn't change how she acted. She still took it slow, quietly observing him and making sure there was just enough distance between them for her to hide if he checked behind him.
She saw his head start to turn and quickly ducked behind something, noting that he had walked into an alley the renamon frowned and considered what she was doing. Following a guard was dangerous especially if they noticed you. With a soft sigh the renamon shook her head and turned about; heading back the way she came. She had other things she could pursue.. perhaps if she went into the political sector?
There was a chance she could find some loud mouth nobles or perhaps even a help desk of sorts. Maybe if she was careful she could find out where information in general was kept? But there lay a distinct problem still.
Did the group even report to luminas yet? Or was that group part of another faction the angels wanted to keep under wraps?

As the Renamon broke away from her pursuit, she obviously wouldn't notice anything off - if it was a trap, she very well avoided it, and if it was actually a lead, she likely lost it.
But K couldn't dwell on that for long - her next thought was to try the political sector, and see if there was anything she could dig up. If she would try and make her way over there, well, she'd find the usual affair: strict professionalism in gilded halls, at least on the surface. Many Digimon here - mostly angel types - seemed far too preoccupied to try and get a word in, either talking harshly into phones or simply brushing past.
What could K do, here? Time was ticking - would she try to simply go through the front desk, or actually try and slip deeper into the halls? Should K enter the central hall, she'd be greeted with the presence of an Angewomon none-too-interested in greeting her back, scratching away at a ledger below.
Well. The angel wasn't going to be the one to speak 'first', anyway.

K figured that the andromon probably had managed to spot her at some junction or another; that they were just leading her into a trap of sorts. If it hadn't been something along those lines she very well might of just lost a lead; but honestly she shouldn't be taking terribly big risks so soon after arriving here.
She was not used to the snobby, angry, political nature of the mon's here and looked somewhat out of sorts at the fact that they brushed her off or were just too preoccupied. While she was a social guru because of the inn that mattered little in the political scheme it seemed. The renamon considered something briefly and decided to go to the front desk.
The entry was kind of what she expected, the Angewoman that was in the central hall. She'd look around for a few moments before approaching; figuring politeness and being somewhat direct might help her here.
"Exscuse me Ma'am, Do you know where I could go to look at information and the ilk? I've got a few things about the northern incident I need to look into."
The renamon wasn't lying on that part, she needed the records most certainly and wanted to look into them. If this angewoman knew where to go for it, or for who would have it or such they might be willing to pass it on. If not she just ousted herself in the worst possible way...
