The renamon tilted her head a little bit noting that it was the apperation again. She wasn't surprised really to find that it was the case. They weren't to the point where he trusted her not to attack him for some reason or another.
"I could of, and wasted another two days and missed the meeting, earning your ire and likely make my next job harder. I figured it wouldn't take them long to notice me doing anything to it; I had to make some kind of choice and walking out of there with it in my data or just running for it would of been far more dangerous. This was the safest outcome I could of thought of past dropping a meteor on the city block."
The renamon shrugged and raised her brow as he continued onwards. Saying that she was better off in his hands. Or at least that's what he said. With the wisemon she let out a soft sigh when he mentioned that her words weren't as vivid or reliable as they could be... well she let out a marvelous shudder from head to toe. The soft distinct memory of what was awaiting her from this book....
"....How long?"
The renamon seemed very hesitant and stared at the open tome; fear etched in her icy eyes for the first time in a very very long time. Though given the answer regardless of what it was she would do what she had hundreds of years ago, looking at those blank pages...

"Oh?" The Wisemon, under his cloak, gave a brief smirk. "My, dear Renamon, it seems that a little motivation is all it takes for you to show your fangs. Still, this might be a bit more problematic should we need more information in the future."
It was a fair assessment, but the Wisemon couldn't help but appreciate K's quick success in all of this. He was close to his goal, and with the power of his time, he could filter out any potential deception K might to press past him. That slight shudder earned a small glance from the Wisemon... but the following question only made him chuckle.
"A day is all I would need to analyze the record. But I need to fill the holes I have in my analysis of you." So how long would that actually take? "One week should be enough. I'll be keeping the book myself, so you'll be more than safe in my care."
That was all there was to it - he simply gave a nod towards K. "Go on, my dear."

K's ear flicked at the sparse amount of what seemed to be almost praise at the idea of her baring her fangs. But it would be problematic should they need information in the future. She gazed at him and shook her head.
"I know where their records are kept now. It'll be an easy matter of sneaking through the city and getting into that room. Or alternatively getting a friend to do it. I'm not without connections either you know."
The renamon frowned a little bit and rubbed her muzzle she felt her face drop a little bit however when that glance and chuckle followed suit. Just a day? She felt her core stop it's excited dance in her chest... before hiking up several notches at hearing that he would need a week. That he would also be keeping that book with him so she'd be more than safe in his care.
"....All right..."
She'd clamp her eyes shut for a few moments, taking in the last few moments of what amounted to freedom before she allowed that book to take her into it's folds. The scratching of those pens almost immediate. She didn't bother opening her eyes when inside, she still saw this place in her dreams from time to time. She could do a plethora of things to pass the time, perhaps meditating would help...

"Well, there's no guarantee that they'll keep the records in the same place," the Wisemon mused, resting his chin on his forefinger, "but I must say, I appreciate your resourcefulness in all of this. I wonder what kind of story you'll tell your friends to justify needing such information."
A dry, almost cruel chuckle escaped from the Wisemon's throat at those last words. But the focus wouldn't be there for long. It definitely took the Renamon a few moments to prepare herself, enough for the sorcerer to get in one last quip: "Think of it this way: in my time, you'll be hidden. A lot can change in an investigation over the course of a week. Maybe they'll get another lead... even if I invent one."
It wouldn't be held back forever, though - as K looked upon these pages, she'd be pulled in once more, the time snapping shut behind her. If K did manage a glance, she'd notice something different. The space around her would be blank, the color of offwhite parchment paper - and rather than a maelstrom, there would be nothing but a single quill scratching, the sound radiating against her ear. Slowly, those indecipherable letters would circle out from her back, filling up the space around her.
Time would be hard to parse together - though this was far less than the initial month that she had spent trapped in the time hundreds of years back. K wouldn't even realize when she was freed, most likely - she would find herself slowly waking up on the soft linen of a couch. That same blood moon radiated through a window, her white fur stained red by the bloom - and on the arm opposite Jesmon's mark, on the back of her unloved hand, she may notice a small black mark, a magical insignia.
"Awake, my dear?"
The Wisemon chuckled, floating in from the doorway - but it was somewhat different in appearance. Unlike the last two times, the mage floated right on forward - and brushed his knuckle right across her shoulder.
He was here - present - the time tied around his side. But with that mark, she'd be unable to raise a finger against him. "Sleep well?"

"There's never a guarantee on anything in life, but I doubt they'll just change the location willy nilly. It'll be a slow thoughtful process that can be followed. What sort of story I'd tell them?"
The renamon furrowed her brow a little bit; she would just indicate that she needed the information and that the angels didn't want her in their city. It would be that plain and simple; with any luck they wouldn't pry.
During the time that she spent preparing herself, he spoke again. Her ear flicked a little bit and she'd gaze at him with what amounted to as resignation. He'd do his best to protect a resource or worker or whatever he considered her at this point.
Once within the pages it'd be quite some time before K would look around noting that the space around her was absolutely blank past the offwhite of parchment paper. There was no maelstrom of scratching but only a single easily ignorable scratching of a quill. She'd flick her ear a little bit and let out a shakey sigh.
Just how far in did she get herself now?
The renamon's grasp on time normally was still pretty mucked up from the amount of time that she spent meditating and thankfully with how the quill was she was able to rest a little better. Meditating here or there to try to calm her beating core. She was in the midst of one of her sleeps when released; groggily she'd rub her muzzle. A shaky hand ran along the soft linen of a couch; the light from that blood moon radiated through a window. That red staining her fur and making the renamon feel a little out of sorts. Reminding her of Asher a bit and the inquiry about his forms having red fur just like his hair. The renamon blinked a little bit as she inspected herself; the red feeling somewhat strange honestly but she wasn't exactly going to argue. She noted the mark on her hand with a wide eye; she didn't recognize what it was but she didn't really have time to think about it. Just where were her gloves? She didn't even feel the tug of her cape either! Though that material would come to her the moment she willed it of course...
The voice grabbed her attention easily enough and she'd turn her head to look towards it. The difference in appearance was immediate and easily recognizable. But try as she may she was unable to actually consider attacking the Wisemon; something about that felt completely off and she'd shiver just a bit when he touched her. She'd let out a small exasperated sigh before dipping her head in a small nod. That resignation from when he put her in there earlier still somewhat present; but with the mark making it so she was unable to raise a finger against him the renamon had no real choice but to just play along.
"Yes. I'm awake. I certainly was able to sleep better with just one Quill scratching away than whatever amount you had in the last tome."
She'd look around the area that she was in quizzically raising a brow before looking at the Wisemon.
"...Where am I?"

K's waking confusion was more than understandable: being in a new place, with unfamiliar lighting and branded with a new mark, one would have several questions. As she moved, she would see that the color her fur had taken was nothing more than a trick of the light, cast upon her by the crimson light through the window.
As for Wisemon? Well, he seemed confident enough to be in K's presence. Perhaps instinctively, she'd know that he was well within range of Shutmon's blades or the brutality of CresGarurumon, but any thought or act to harm the sorcerer would fall to a faint noise in the back of her head. "Well, of course there's only one quill - this tome has only had one resident. I should caution that it has been about a day over the week that I had promised. The last, I needed to set this spell in place. Though I must say, this red color suits you quite well."
That trailing hand over her shoulder arched up, a light pat given to K's cheek before he pulled away. "You're in Whitewater, in a quaint little residence that I have rented out. But enough of that - the file you found is more than helpful."
He gave a chuckle, one that rose to a small laugh, as the Wizard circled around. "Something like that... not what I expected, but the scope is far beyond what I expected. K... I need you to get your hands on that one variable."
The Sorcerer smirked, giving his next order:
"The Calumon. Acquire it, bring it to me. I'll see that you are rewarded well for this."
Details were sparse, but the order was clear!

The renamon examined the mark a few times, trying to understand it. Something that she hadn't had obviously, most of her markings were blue or simply were too light to be seen because of the white. The few markings that weren't natural were the bite and ugly red blotch that covered her chest. K stared quietly at the Wisemon; full well knowing that her forms could easily deal with them. The thought to digivolve and just take care of him fell to that faint noise; which only followed by the renamon being unsure of what she was even thinking about in the first place.
At his answer the renamon felt herself pale a little bit. So all the quills scratching before were from other residents? She'd rub her muzzle a bit and dip her head in a nod as he told her how long it had been. She wouldn't of honestly noticed if he told her differently. Then of course he made the statement that the red color suited her well. She'd look down at her 'red' fur she felt an uneasy sigh escape from her.
"So each quill scratching was a resident before.. you must have many within there still then. If you hadn't told me how long I don't think I would of noticed normally. I don't have the best grasp of time."
She didn't know how to really respond to his compliment; but distantly she felt her 'heart' twitch a little bit at it. Maybe in disgust? Or maybe in thanks. She really didn't know.
The trailing of that hand only earned a shiver and uncomfortable look from the renamon. She still wasn't really used to being touched by others; she always kept her distance even though she was fairly friendly. Except for certain individuals that it would mean something to of course.
"A safehouse of sorts I presume? All right."
She'd furrow her brow a little bit and follow him as he circled around her. Tilting her head as he begun to speak. The scope was far beyond what he expected? Just what scope was that even? Then of course came what amounted to the next mission. She'd hesitate a little bit and feel herself stiffen slightly.
He wanted her to get the Calumon? To acquire it and bring it to him? She looked hesitant about it but looked down at her hands for a few moments.
"...Where is it being kept? Who has it? What kind of security would it have? I don't think the group that helped out at the statues would have it personally; they don't strike me as the sort to even have it for that long if they did."
The promise of the reward was easily forgotten; she knew the price for failure already. Harder missions, likely her family getting problematic ventures or something along those lines...

"Oh my, dear Renamon, you must understand that was a time of war." The sorcerer, even at that grave declaration, gave a warm smirk. "So many samey stories were inscribed in the pages of my old time, over and over - until you, I feared that I would find nothing unique." The tone he had spoke of her as a fine catch, even reaching a hand out, gently pressing his fingers into her back, dragging down the shoulderblade.
This was, of course, despite her discomfort. The remark about a safehouse was merely met with a noncommittal shrug from the Wisemon, not really having more to say about the topic. No, his focus was already drawn forward, the Wisemon intent on the goal to come.
"The Calumon has his own will - and should he he under the grip of the Empyrean Skies, I would have already noticed a shift in their structure. At the very least," he mused, "Those in the Science Club must have at least a hint about Calumon's location."
He gave a smile, circling back around to her front. "And, just maybe, you will find the Calumon there. Preferably, I would like the Digimon in tact, but its data is the most important."
A hit - Wisemon was calling for a hit, to steal this Calumon away from what may be its rightful home. "If you have any reservations against it, find a way to discard it. Until this job is done?"
Standing in front, he reached forward, dragging a knuckle upward - from the base of her neck to the tip of her chin.
"It is your only concern, dear. Can you do it?"

K shifted slightly; frowning and considering the idea that during that time of war it was needed. Considering that the angels likely got a lot of Intel out of their captures because of it she could understand the desire to feed this wisemon as many digimon as possible without killing them. There was a small earnest sigh and she'd run a hand through her fur. Samey stories? She could imagine the sort of things that those against and with them would have. But until the wisemon had found her well... She'd let out a sharp breath shuddering in surprise as she felt his fingers press into her back and drag down her shoulder-blade.
"Fe-feh... So you got lucky by just coming to my inn after some group then."
She wasn't sure if she liked his tone; but there wasn't much that she could do about it. The noncommittal shrug was enough for her to know not to go further in the query of this location. The focus of it pushing onwards to the Calumon. If the individual would slip into the grip of the Empyrean skies it likely would make her job harder too. She flicked her ears and felt her face pale when he spoke of the science club.
That's right they are part of that club... Nnn...
The renamon placed a hand to her muzzle watching her 'boss' circle her. She'd flick her ears and found her frown deepening as he was now in front of her again. So he wanted the digimon itself intact and preferred it that way but he honestly could get by with it's data? So technically digitizing the individual was an option if it came to that.
The reservations she had about digitizing had been long discarded, destroyed by those that had almost done the same to her. Her eyes hardened a little bit however when he seemed to think she'd be bothered by that fact. The only thing she seemed to be bothered by was the fact she had to go deal with the very thing she sought to protect. Come up with a way to make sure they didn't get harmed from it while also doing her job. She'd grunt softly however when he reached forward, dragging a knuckle upward from the base of her neck to the tip of her chin, basically forcing her to look at him.
"Tch... I can do it. But I suppose I should ask. What's this reward you speak of?"
There wasn't greed in her tone, it was for the most part curiousity and a bit of worry. She had felt those rings before, she had felt the sting of the D-reaper in her veins. Maybe not to the same extent as Cassandra or Guru might of but all the same it had been there at some point.

Lucky? Wisemon couldn't help but give a short laugh! "Oh, quite lucky. I was definitely pleased to have your story added to my collection, dear fox. Oh, thank you for letting me finish that up, by the way." Drumming his fingers over that fresh tome, K would perhaps understand Wisemon's interest in her... uncomfortable as it may have been. A gem that he had found, rough and unrefined, that had grown brighter and brighter over the years.
His attention toward the fox was already obvious, of course - perhaps the sorcerer already considered her part of his collection. Wisemon looked on in interest as K considered the information presented, seeing that small shudder and brief hesitation in K's frame. It definitely took her a minute to process what it meant - to potentially attack her husband's club to steal the Calumon away - but she eventually relented, and even asked about the reward.
"Oh, dear Renamon: your reward will be anything that I, in my power, can grant to you. Maybe you want to free your assistant from so many years ago? Wealth? An abode for you and your family? So long as you don't challenge the fact that you work for me, not ask for anything for the Calumon's benefit, I will consider it."
It seemed reasonable... but the Wisemon's tone quickly darkened. A small chuckle escaped his throat, as he brought his hand forward, gently wrapping his fingers across the back of her neck.
"Fail this, my dear," he warned, "and you will belong to me."

K felt her expression darken a bit at that laugh; to start she had figured that he had never really intended anything with her past that one incident. So considering now? She was bascially under his whims as it stood and she was slowly getting forced to do more and more complex things. Or at least that was going to be the continual case of it even if she succeded. Considering her intial job was something that most people wouldn't even dream of getting halfway on; to consider it any form of success wasn't soemthing most could do.
"Tch.. I imagine it's something you enjoy going over then with the way you're talking."
The renamon sighed a little bit; at his thanks her ears flicked a little bit. She noted how he was carrying it; how important it could be to someone such as he. It held all of her secrets, the keys, Her forms, her powers, her demeanor her history.. everything and anything that had to do with her since the last time she was in that initial book would of likely been something the wisemon could use to his advantage.
The renamon's expression continued to darken as he listed off what rewards she would get from it. Her assistant. Silver the renamon that had been stored away in that first book since the last time she had seen him. Wealth. Inconsequential to her in such a way that it might as well be pointless for her. An abode for her and her family? That last one struck home and the renamon put a hand to her chest gripping it tightly as she felt her heart wrench.
"Many options you present Sir. But we both know what I would ask of you when this is done."
The chuckle followed by him gently wrapping his fingers across the back of her neck only illicited a shudder from her again. It was far too gentle, far too nice; far too personal. He was happy with what he had here, she could tell that.
Then of course came the warning, that were she to fail that she would belong to him. She didn't know what that would entail and that actually made the renamon shift slightly. She'd hold up her hand, the one with his marking on it.
"You say that like it's not the case here; you blackmail me into working for you and then offer rewards for jobs well done. I'm not some kit that you picked up on the road; I understand how things are. Either way you win right? I'm surprised you don't just do both and get it over with... With all due respect of course Sir."

Oh, if only K knew how right she was, how dog-eared his initial tome was when he discovered just how 'unique' K was. As it stood, that sigh was returned only with a small shrug, a tease just to leave the Renamon a little more on edge.
As for the reward? Well, Wisemon let out a smirk, smiling as K indicated that he already knew what she'd ask. "Do I? Tell me, what's more important - your family now, or a Renamon that might not even remember what it's like to be in the outside world?" K had only been sealed for a month at the longest, so what kind of state would Silver even be in? Heck, maybe Wisemon had already loaded those trapped out of sheer mercy?
That all fell by the wayside, though, as K decided to poke at a very dangerous beast. Why had Wisemon not 'taken' the Renamon yet? "K, you are a rather intelligent businessperson - truly, why would I wait if I had no reason to?" Just to make his point, he shifted that hand over, from around the back of her neck to the front, giving a faint, yet threatening, grip at her throat.
"But even you should know: motivation is much better when you have something to protect, even if artificial." He held that, for a moment, before slowly lowering the hand, soon producing and offering the fox's gloves back to her.
"Do not fail me."

All considering the renamon would never know just how unique she was; most certainly she understood she wasn't exactly normal or anything close to the word but there likely wouldn't be a case close to her experience for a long time if ever. The small shrug meant as a tease did leave her on edge just a little bit; she wasn't sure how to feel about the wisemon still and with him acting in this vein well... It wasn't something she was going to get used to anytime soon.
With that smirk and his teasing way of speaking to her only darkened her expression further. He certainly knew which of the two that she would pick at this point. She'd do just about anything to keep her family safe; to do what she could to try to keep them away from this sort of thing. But she was slowly being driven in such a way that would only end up hurting them if she continued.
"Feh. It pains me to admit it but my family..."
She'd sigh a little bit; she understood how it was in there and wouldn't even know if the wisemon had loaded those trapped in his book out of some kind of 'mercy'. Next was something she wasn't really expecting to be as dangerous of a topic as it was. His shifting of his hand after the fact caused her quite a thoughtful pause mixed with an uncomfortable exhalation as that threatening grip was now to her throat. Faint as it was; it was easy to see.
"...Like any business person you're seeing how the goods are before putting you're money to them... That and you don't need a puppet quite yet or at least to that extreme so soon. Quality over quantity; because I imagine I'm also not your only venture in this regard... Can't have all the eggs in one basket or something like that. Forget that human phrase..."
The renamon shifted a little bit at the mention that motivation would be much better when she had something to protect. He wasn't wrong in that vein either and the renamon let out a strangled; rather defeated sigh. The renamon would of course taker her gloves from the wisemon, slipping them on and flexing her digits a bit to get them comfortable on her arms. Her ears flicked and she'd let out an uneasy sigh.
"I won't Sir."

Of course K picked her family - after all, it was her entire motivation for going along with this in the first place. The Wisemon feigned a warm smile, words of similar warmth rolling on out: "Of course, of course. There's no shame in putting them first, dear fox."
Well, first after the 'job', apparently. Once those fingers were wrapped around K's neck, all of the questioning tone left the Renamon's expression. She immediately tried to rationalize against her own question, even theorizing the existence of other servants. Once her answer was heard, the sorcerer gave a nod, pushing the fox away as he moved to offer her the gloves.
"Good... I'm glad you understand." watching her affix those gloves, the Wisemon retrieved her cloak, settling it around her shoulders, running his hands a bit down her arms. "If you focus a little energy into that mark, your fur will turn a fine, dusty red-brown. Maybe that'll be enough to hide yourself." Aside from that, he'd give her one pat on the shoulder...
... And vanish, on the spot.

There was no shame in putting K's own family first? She knew that but why did it hurt to admit it? She'd grit her teeth a little bit and that warm smile along with those warm words only ended up making her even more frustrated. She didn't have the option of saying no to these jobs; they would constantly be in danger otherwise and she wasn't omnipotent.
Her answer to him only illicated a nod; and him pushing her away. Those gloves were comfortable, just like her cloak. They spoke of good days past and soon maybe their red wouldn't be just from natural colors. Hear ears flicked when the wisemon said he was glad that she understood; it wasn't hard. If she didn't he would of just made her suffer for it she imagined.
When he set the cloak around her shoulders she let out an easy sigh; the cloak itself always felt supportive no matter what she was doing. However when he ran his hands down her arms a bit the renamon shuddered. It still felt weird and she doubted that she would ever get used to it. Then came the information about focusing a little energy into that mark; that it would turn her fur into a fine, dusty red-brown. Making it probably easier to disguise herself if she wasn't already so noticeable with her cloak and gloves. When the wisemon vanished from the spot she'd stare at it for a good long time before quietly testing that information.
Finding that it indeed did what he said only made her frown. Just what else did this marking of his do? She'd likely find out as time passed; but for now she had a mission to do along with some information to gather beforehand...
