"Hey, we look just as strange to them as they do to us!" Syre turned that point around with a small laugh, once more giving Siris a small tap with the edge of her elbow. Of course, the question came of 'what to do when another one came up', to which Syre just gave a shrug.
"I'unno. I don't act any differently around them than I do with Digimon - isn't it pretty much the same?" Having grown up in the library - about an equal mix of Digimon and humans - she simply didn't grow up with the same biases that Siris had. "Just 'be yourself' as much as you can, I guess. They don't bite, after all!"
Past that? Well, it seemed like Siris was about to hit the books - and really, Syre couldn't blame him. Of course, her interest was far away from her brother's, instead picking out books of different games, both of human and digital variety. Cribbage, chess, some kinds of Poker...
Well, she could keep herself entertained, at least! As Siris asked for help, though, she snapped her own book shut, and took a look over. "Eh, sure! What you trying to look for?" Stuff on the Skies? Looking over that book of traitors, she took a look up to the shelf. "Maybe somewhere more general... look, here's a tourist guide!" Pulling that small paperback down, she gave a blink, as Siris' eyes seemed locked on a certain part of that book.
... Huh. "Sy? You okay?"

As he flipped through the book, he was always scanning for things on this Ronin, the idea of someone who fought back against the system and arguably won fascinated him greatly! Syre seemed more interested in the general aspect of the Skies, but Siris was fixated on this figure. He found another section, detailing an account of a fight the Ronin had with one of the Knights;
"Look! He sort of looks a Renamon, no?"
Almost ignoring her query about if he was alright, he'd show her the picture of the sword wielding fox and set the book aside! Soon, he'd set the book aside and look to his younger sister;
"Do you think Dad has any more information on him?"
He couldn't explain his obsession with the figure head that might not even exist. But it likely had to do with the idea of a hero who saw something wrong and fought for what he believed to be right. That's what he did with that gang... That was it! He saw himself in this Ronin, a person who couldn't sit by and say nothing when things were wrong and instead of taking the punishment like everyone else, he fought back and won!
He would take not of Syre's expression and fold his ears a bit; "O-Oh... sorry. Uhm, what were you showing me?"
At least the fox took to something!

Siris was definitely an energetic sort once he had something to focus on! As Syre reached for that tourist guide, she could see the Renamon becoming more enamored with the pages before her eyes. He was drawn to the pictures, to the rigor and stance of this 'Ronin', so much that she could have sworn she saw a sparkle in his eye. Asked about the figure, the cat climbed up, giving an idle glance on the page - then back towards Siris. "I guess? More like a Weregarurumon to me, but... um..."
Sheesh, what was this all of the sudden. Would dad know? Syre couldn't help but sigh at that! "Siris, I hate to break it to you, but you're reading a book about the most heinous criminals in Luminas. And though it is Luminas, well, not all of their tales are complete exaggerations. It looks like this one was a thorn in the Sky's side for more than a century!" She shook her head, not really seeing what Siris was seeing in all this - really, it was like watching a kid reading a comic book, except the comics were nowhere to be seen.
As for what she was trying to show him? "Oh, it was just this tourist guide... you know, stuff to do, sights to see, skydiving stuff..." Her tone seemed to peter out, near the end, knowing that his interest was elsewhere. "So, hero stories, then? Let's see if I can find something along those lines!"

As she tossed aside the ideas of the tourist guide, Siris' eyes lit up and his tail swished to and fro! He was certain much more excited about her helping him now and with that in his mind, the young fox nodded and looked around some more, now with the assistance of his sister! After a short time looking, Siris turned back up with a single book and a smile;
"This one looks promising!"
He held it out to show a simple word and symbol; Luminas Exiles
He smiled again sat down, looking to the smaller cat; "Did you find anything?"
He'd flip casually as he looked for more on this figurehead that suddenly took up his attention, only looking up to Syre when she would tell him of her findings. Then would add the books to his collection, if any were found. It truly was showing, his childish side with this, be it because it was a hero of sorts to him or that the Ronin looked like a fox similar to his mother! Either way, Siris' fascination might have alienated his younger sister...
Or maybe she'd relate to him, given her love for human games!

Alright, Syre could help out with this - cool pictures of strong fighters, right? It seemed Siris was more of a buff for heroes and villains, and certainly there was some sort of history book around here that he could dive into. Peering over the far end of the bookshelf, she pulled out a few: 'Influential Fighters of Luminas', 'Terminus' History', and 'Rustport's Nomadic Days'...
... But it seemed like Siris was locked on the Ronin! Seeing the book Siris found, the BlackGatomon gave a small chuckle. "Heh, might be good. Here!" She'd set those on the table as well, but it seemed clear from the start that Siris was more into whatever was happening in Luminas, for one reason or another. Slipping back down into her seat, she'd flip right back through the rules of 'Hearts'... but at this point, she wasn't focusing too much on her own book.
Eventually, she simply asked:
"What do you find so interesting about that 'Ronin'?"

As he read through, he found out a lot about his newly found hero. The good... and the bad. It didn't dissuade him from continuing his investment into the Ronin, however, and he continued on until Syre asked a simple, yet complicated question.
Why DID he like the Ronin?
Maybe it was the fact that he was an unclaimed at one point and inducted into the Knight's program many years ago? Or that he had the courage to stand for what was right? Or at least what he thought what was right. Maybe it was his appearance? After being 'knocked down' the Ronin took a more vulpine form that heavily resembled a Renamon.
"I guess... I see me in him? When I was with that group, I saw something wrong. I spoke out and was beaten for it. I eventually fought back, but had to run. I wish I was able to do more than just flee with my life."
He set the book down and sighed, it was something of a personal crusade to get back at those gang leaders. Something Siris didn't like to talk about. Could anyone blame him? With that, the young fox smiled and went back to his book, getting lost in the many fantasies he played in his own head about how some of these tales went down. Though, his time reading wasn't ALL about the Ronin. Information on him wasn't skim, but it also wasn't plentiful.
Eventually, Siris would set the book down and look to his sister;
"I... uhm, when is lunch?"
It seemed his bravery only existed in those books!

Well, sure, the Ronin might have looked like a Renamon - but other Renamon looked like Renamon too! Hearing Siris' reasoning, the cat couldn't help but give a nervous chuckle: "Siris, that's nice and all... but you really don't know much about this guy at all. Heck, you're looking at a book that details the acts of criminals of a sovereign state!"
And really, who was the type of person to idolize those kinds of things? Maybe Siris just felt a little personally invested in it all - which was fine, but gone too far it was something that could end up biting him in the tail one day. But, so long as he was entertained by the book, the time would pass easily enough...
... Until Siris would ask that question. "Um... in about an hour or so, I think?" Indeed, it was barely 10:30, Syre chuckling when the fox asked about food! "If you're done with books, we can try a game or something!"
Sheesh - brother and sister, and they barely knew each-other!

As he read, he sort of agreed with Syre... he wasn't exactly an idle to look to. But still, eh couldn't help but feel a little conflicted when thinking of it. Some marked his crimes a heinous and the point of his crimes were so wrought, it became suspicious. Moreover, some accounts simply stated he was insubordinate and his actions kept Luminas afloat. So they read, anyway. Siris took them all with a grain of salt, likely both sides over exaggerated their points!
With a rather disappointed sigh at hearing food was so far out, the Renamon set down his book and leaned back. Games, she said?
"Okay... I guess I could play some games! What did you have in mind?"
He'd walk over, taking a seat with his legs crossed and watched intently, "I heard humans have all kinds of complicated and interesting games. Mostly revolving around killing, though! Like one called 'Battleship' where you sink human things in the water."
Siris understood literally zero of that game. What objects did the humans have that would be in a fight like that? Were they bigger humans or their 'companions' he had heard so much about?
He'd watch carefully, the kit interested in what the kitten had to offer!

Sheesh - that's what Siris though Battleship was? The cat had to remind herself that her brother was more-or-less a wild Digimon to keep herself from laughing, as the cat dug through her games. "Well, I mean, that game's based around plastic pegs and stuff - humans like to put pretty pictures and 'motif' to try and give the games a bit of theming. You know, more than moving circles around a board."
Of course, she meant 'checkers' - but there were games they could try other than that. Syre wasn't about to try and describe Chess to the Renamon - mostly because she only had about half an idea of how to really play the game herself - and instead pulled out that same checkerboard - flipping it around to a side that held more triangles than a grid.
Backgammon! Putting a couple of dice on the table, Syre reminded herself how to set the pieces up - starting to explain the rules to the Renamon. "Heh... and then humans come with games like this, where there's no 'picture' to it at all. This one's a bit weird, but it can be fun - worth a try, at least!"

With a tilt of his head, Siris sat down and examined her words with consideration. A motif and theme? He was unsure if humans had such a thing before, yet Syre was proving him wrong! He’d watch her take the board and pieces out and then his head in the opposite direction, trying to understand;
”I’ve heard of this. No idea how to really play, though!”
He watched with vested interest as she continued to lay out the pieces, still trying to figure it out so he could play her!
”I don’t think Digimon have games like this, do we?”
Sure the question seemed naive, but it was not without its merit! The young fox barely understood the world he was standing in, so it would come natural that he’d have little to understand about the many cultures that shared this world with him!

"Oh, its not a hard game at all! Let's see... five, three, five, two..." Setting all of the pieces into their starting position, the BlackGatomon set out to explain the rules: "So, we each take turns rolling two dice, and then we move our pieces that many spaces over, towards our own board. Each die can be used to move one piece at a time - and if its possible to make a move, you have to move a piece. You can't land on a space where the other player is, if they have more than two pieces on the same one."
"And if you land where someone only has one piece," She slipped a red checker to the middle, and pointed towards her own side of the board: "Then you have to set that piece free. One through six, counted this way - when you roll for your turn, you have to put your piece on an open spot. If you can't, you lose your turn!"
Simple enough: "Oh, and if you roll 'doubles', you play the dice twice - like, if you roll two fives, you can move four pieces five spaces - like moving a whole group at once!"
Hopefully, that all made sense! Though, at the last question, the cat's ears gave a flick. "Well... maybe not exactly like this, but I think Digimon have been making up games with rocks and stuff too? Maybe?" She didn't exactly know, either! "Anyway, I'll start!"

It seemed simple enough, but honestly, the Renamon wasn't paying enough attention to really get the gist of the game, and instead he watched her move pieces from one side to another, not really getting why she was doing and when she moved her piece, he'd simply move his in a manner that definitely sang his understanding of this game;
Truthfully, he was more caught up in his books. Thinking about the Ronin, the heroes and the stories that could be told through their eyes. He wanted to know more, and the driving hunger didn't help at all for his concentration. He'd blink again, no doubt it would be his turn again and with that, the fox would put his hands up;
"Syre... I'm going to be honest. I can't focus on this right now. I'm still wrapped up about the things I was reading and I'm starving!" he'd fold his ears, a little ashamed he was not playing with her. But still, he didn't want to lead her astray! He'd fidget with his hands and blink owlishly, hoping she'd understand!

Yup... honestly, this was embarrassing. First, Siris was messing up the rules, then he was splitting his pieces - it took all of five turns before the center was stacked up with five of Siris' captured pieces! With a sigh, her ear twitching at the Renamon's explanation, the BlackGatomon gave a nod.
"Well, if that's the case..." She cleared up the board, no real point continuing with this game. "Then c'mon, let's go see dad. Maybe he'll know a bit more about what you're talking about than I am." And heck, maybe he could get lunch a little early!
As for the Mikemon himself, the cat would still be scratching away at his notes, idly penning through an appointment book, half-muttering to himself: "So if I have to move the Biyomon's appointments a day up... tch, that's just a bit tricky, isn't it..." He blinked, just as Siris and Syre would be right at the door, the doctor cat giving a small smirk to the two of 'em. "Er... something wrong? You seem a bit out of it, Siris!"

With a rub of his arm and more of the fidgeting of his hands, the fox's ears folded as he apologized;
"S-sorry, Syre. I didn't mean to ruin your game."
Like a great deal many things, Siris was genuine about this. He wanted to play with her, but he really couldn't find himself focusing on anything other than his heroes and food! But her next suggestion to go find his father was a notion that put a bit of spring in his step;
"Yeah? You think so?"
As they walked through the Library and moved to his father's office, he'd eventually be standing in the doorway with his sister. In no time, he pinpointed that something was up with the young fox! Siris would nervously rub the back of his neck;
"Uhm... Well do you, uh, know anything about something in Luminas called the Ronin?"
It might have been a tad vague for his dad, but at least he'd be able to point him in the right direction! Surely his dad, who ran an entire library and kept it's knowledge knew something!

"Its alright, not everyone seems to get this game anyway." Scratching the back of her head, she gave a nervous chuckle - checkers was definitely easier to pick up. Well, a lesson in trying to teach complicated rules out of the way, it didn't take long for the two to reach Mikemon's office.
Yes, 'dad' here quickly figured out that something was wrong, but the question caught Mikemon a bit off guard. His ear flicked at that - the Ronin? "Um... oh, right, the 'just' warrior?" Piecing it together in his head, the cat rolled the thought around a bit: "I don't know too much - he's a rare species of Digimon - Kajunemon - which focuses on swords, flame, and close-range combat. I've only seen one in my own time, but I can see where the legend itself would come from. Headstrong, stubborn, and with a very high sense of justice."
Truly, the type of heroes that fit in books! Syre gave a smile, shaking her head. "Siris' been digging through the books and couldn't learn enough about this guy! I think he's turning into a fan..."
"Heh. Well, nothing wrong with that as a symbol, honestly... though, you have to be careful. A lot of those stories are a bit tilted in favor one way or another, son." It was a fair enough warning - setting down his pen, he gave a nod to the pair of them. "So, what do you two wanna do?"
