Name: Ginjiro Tanaka
Alias: Ginji
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 122 lbs
Alignment: Neutral Good
Birth Date: August 20
Birth Place: Meguro, Tokyo
Skills/Talents: Ginji has a curious and sharp mind, steady hands, and the ability to subsist purely on cheap ramen even when not going to college.
Backpack Contents: Instant ramen, water bottle, assorted encyclopedias and science fiction novels.
Digivice:
Swampy green D-3 with matching D-Terminal
Personality: Couragous. Brave. Decisive. These were all words you would never hear used to describe Ginjiro. In fact, he is quite timid in many cases. He would be the one in the corner at the party, or the one pressured into letting you copy his homework so you wouldn't fail. While at college. He's the one that takes ten minutes at a fast food restaurant to figure out what he wants to order, or get stuck debating himself in circles over what important life-changing decision he will make. For his character in a video game or tabletop RP.
He is also the person to explain the confusing science-speak in a lecture or scifi setting in simple terms for everyone to understand, or warn someone before mixing those two harmless chemicals that will make toxic fumes. If you want to know how to understand the difference between types of rocks or chemical bonds, he's your guy. He's no genius, but his curiosity is almost unbridled, and his mind is sharp enough to grasp most of the concepts thrown at him.
Ginjiro has a good moral compass but a weak backbone. He would not likely jump into the middle of a fight to save someone if there were other people that could do the same, but if someone needs help, he's the only one around, and he doesn't feel it is beyond his capabilities, he will help. He'll let you know if he morally doesn't agree with something, and if it makes him uncomfortable, but will quickly back off if challenged on the smaller things. Big injustices, however, may bring out the tiny bit of bravery in him, letting him debate those he sees completely in the wrong, unless severely threatened.
While not cynical or a pessimist, Ginji does not know how to find happiness. He can't find a job that satisfies him, and has no idea where he is heading in life. He is lost and confused, looking for a change of pace.
Appearance: Ginji used to be of average height and weight, and used to care about his appearance. College and the fruitless search for a job he can be happy with has taken a lot from him. His poor diet and walking everywhere due to not owning a car has made him very skinny, almost - but not quite - unhealthily so. He now mostly wears whatever he can just quickly grab and throw on, so mostly t-shirts and hoodies, jeans, and worn-out tennis shoes. His grey eyes seem dulled and have lost some of there life-filled shine, though it returns when his curiosity is piqued. His red hair has been cut very short to not need any styling, and his beard is cut similarly short.
Due to a combination of poor eating habits and weariness, he often appears to be out of energy. He slouches constantly, shuffles more than walks, and sounds worn out. He has a bit of a rough voice as well. Despite being in his twenties, it would not be hard to mistake him for older.
Personal History: Ginji was a curious little child. He learned to speak at a very early age, and his favorite words seemed to have been 'why' and 'how' with how frequent he used them. Crazy science shows sparked an interest in him, and on every birthday from age 7 to 12, he asked for some form of children's science kit or educational toy set. As he grew up, he started asking for things like video games like a normal child, but also science fiction novels and science books. In school, he had above average grades, but aced the sciences.
When it was time to go to college, Shibuya seemed like the place to be. Good college, plenty of jobs, a change of pace - just what he wanted. He managed to get a small scholarship, and secured an apartment for (relatively) cheap. He started taking classes, and was excited at first, but then realized that he was going to have to make sacrifices. Going to college and a part-time job took a lot of time away from him, and he couldn't afford anything fancy, but it would all be worth it.
Or so he thought.
After getting an Associate's Degree, Ginji ran out of scholarship funds. It was time for the dreaded student loans when it was time to go back. But... what would he do when he went back? Science, of course. But Geology? Chemistry? Biology? It was a complete mystery to him. He just now realizes he doesn't know where he's heading. He's stuck in an apartment alone, eating cheap food, working jobs he doesn't like, all to go to college for a path he is uncertain of. What now?
Digimon Name: Dee
Default Form: PetitMamon
Gender: Female
Alignment: Neutral Science
Skills/Talents: Keen mind, insatiable curiosity, the drive to carry out her ideas
Personality: Dee's curiosity matches her human partner's, but even greater than his. Her mind is fully dedicated to learning about the interaction of data and how it can combine to make things not the sum of its parts. Jogress, Xrosses, and Biomerges are her main areas of interest. Why do some Digimon combine differently during Jogress? Two identical pairs of Digimon make two different Jogresses. Why? What makes some fusions compatible Jogress and others incompatible Chaosmon? Why does adding a human to a Digimon's code bring out their true power, when they are just meat and water but eating and drinking doesn't? She will stop at nothing to figure these mysteries out. Nothing.
Dee is cool, but not cold, calm but not emotionless, manipulative yet not evil. She rides the edge of good versus evil. And her human partner will be along for the ride. However, she claims not to have a partner at all! Instead, the poor human that gets linked with her is merely her "assistant". She will convince, cajole, manipulate and make threats to get him to be her assistant and follow her orders. Yet, she actually seems to care for him - and only him. Any other humans and Digimon are curiosities at best; annoyances can become test subjects for her real quick.
Despite her more serious demeanor, Dee has a hidden sense of humor. She will deny finding things funny even after being caught stifling a laugh. She may even play the occasional practical joke or two, and then act as if the victim were the one 'clowning around'. Most of her pranks are harmless, though if she combines her prank with an experiment, her unwilling test subjects might not see them as harmless.
