"Oh, shit, that thing was still on there?" Luke gave a chuckle, shaking his head. "They have those on the nitro tanks - apparently its the easiest thing that goes 'walking' from garages. I saw them pluck that off and just flick it somewhere - guess it still got tagged onto the bike somehow."
That aside, and a power drain that wouldn't even pass scientific muster of 'significant', the bike was back in working order. Given the opportunity to look over the summary, the engineer quickly looked over the front page - and then dove right into the detail, scrolling right down on one of those computer screens. "Hover-fan variance is... within three tenths of a degree..."
He was already mumbling to himself, diving right into the technical data. This left Iko alone to field Kan's questions, the wolf's standing ear twitching at the spirit wielder's query. "Ya'know, you could install a TV up in the waiting room - you might pick up a lot just by leaving it on the news. Anyway, I guess I'll start with the Spires."
Right, what was the best way to explain that? "Its the more 'interesting' of the two. Apparently there's these 'black monolith' things - like a giant, smooth pointed monument, sheer black in color - and within a certain range of that, all Digimon are forced down to their rookie state, or whatever their equivalent is. From there, the spires have the ability to produce 'control' rings and take control of Digimon in the area - those controlled are unaffected by the 'power-down' of the Spire and act as the area's guardian. Honestly, the whole thing creeps me out."
Why was that? "Because it doesn't make sense without a motive - but I've never seen a Spire that someone was controlling. Thus, all that really happens is a Champion level Digimon defaults to 'protecting the spire' while a bunch of rookies try and break it."
Weird enough as it was! "As for the D-Reaper, well, shit went down in the Dark Area and what was supposed to be a program that eats corrupted data turned into... um, well, some sort of hive-and-nest. I don't really have the details on it either, but apparently whatever it is can very easily alter the data of anyone who comes into contact with it."
Really, his display of the D-Reaper to K was on such a childish scale - if that could turn into that, he was out of his league to try and explain it, wholly! "Sorry if that last bit's a little mixed around."

"Makes sense. Still something they should of removed or done a once over to make sure it was gone."
"well it's not like they needed to do much more than turn that off."
The spirit shifted slightly and scratched at one of his horns. Brows raising just a little bit as he considered what the wolf said. A tv in his waiting room? Considering that he for the most part would be relying on others to spend their time here while he fixed things in the hopes that they would buy something here...
"Well I'll have to do that once I'm more unpacked."
"If you think downstairs is a mess you should see his upstairs. Nothing but boxes!"
The second voice sounded smug and the spirit scoffed at himself it seemed. Giant monolithic structures that forced individuals down to their rookie state which also meant that they were forced to fight on the terms of tower's guardian. It'd gain a frown and he'd rub his neck; cracking it in the process.
"Sounds similar to those Corrupted elemental orbs. I dealt with one a while back and it kind of had a somewhat similar set. But it was a field of 'corruption' that weakened attacks dramatically for things above the creature's level within. I was fighting at mega at the time and their guardian was champion."
The spirit shook his head and let out a sigh.
"So people are still attacking these things and taking them out then? Not really giving them a chance to figure out who or what is behind these things cropping up?"
"Unfortunately as it stands if that's the case I'd be unable to help."
"Kan's got most of his spirits sealed to stop their data from degrading-"
"Hush."
The massive being leaned a little bit and considered what the other told him about the D-reaper. Something about the Dark area that had some natural program that ate corrupted data turning into a Hive or nest.. or both? That was somewhat worrying in a fashion. Frowning quietly the massive digimon shifted, one of his tentacles snaking it's way to another computer that lay open to the side. It'd only be a moment before it was dragged over.
"I suppose gathering information to understand this better is a must."
Another shake of the horned head and with several tentacles tapping away at the computer the massive digimon shifted slightly.
"One of them sounds like I'd be able to help out if I wasn't busy trying to set up stuff. The other seems like a better idea to let others take care of it."
"Lots of hero types always wanting to prove themselves! Good thing we're not that."
"No I think we've been doing this far too long to be even considered much more than a shopkeep."
"Well... yeah I guess."
"So what of you two? If you don't mind me asking what sort of jobs do you two perform? Freelance? Specifics? I imagine the both of you have something you're skilled in."

Honestly, Iko was on the side of the spirit here, at least as far as the spires. "Honestly, it seems like someone tried to use the Spires, but they spun out of control before they could get a handle on it." With a shrug, he gave a sigh: "The Spires tend to pop up in populated or high traffic areas, and with forms being forced downward, there's little incentive to keep them up for study. I've seen a few missions attempting to do the study portion, but never heard any news out of it."
That was interesting on its own, but as far as the D-Reaper, it seemed neither side had much to comment on. In the end, it seemed that Kan was more willing to work on the D-Reaper than the Spires - as he had said earlier, he'd simply be unable to help. "Degrading forms, though?" Luke said that under his breath, simply shaking his head at the concept. Using Super Mega continuously like this had to be draining at some point? Well, no, maybe he still had access to his human form during his down time.
But soon, the question was turned back around towards Luke and Iko. Giving a shrug to each-other, Luke answered first: "Still in school, pretty close to a degree in electrical engineering. Dunno how much of that's gonna matter in light of the Digital World, but might as well wrap that up?"
As for Iko? "Freelance, mission-taker. Guild has me pegged as a 'strategist' after some work to the north, but its something that just has to be done at the higher level anyway. Though I take it you're less about the 'violent' parts of this world?"

"That's somewhat worrying to hear; if they got out of control maybe there's a chance that whoevers behind it had another intent. Who knows at this point. As for study missions for something like that? I'd be surprised if they got proper results."
The demonic dragon shifted and quirked a brow at luke as he heard the mumble but not the contents. Shrugging a little bit the spirit leaned and perked up as his computer search pinged a few smaller results. Frowning slightly at the information displayed he'd set that aside for later.
"You'd be surprised at what can be useful where, I bet terminus doesn't have as many of those as you'd think and it's not every day that outside of the digital world you run into those either. If anything it'll be useful to understand the more civilized locations yeah?"
Kan furrowed his brows and scratched his head at the answer that Iko gave him. Freelancer but pegged as a strategist because of some work up north? Maybe he should go do some digging if it was in the higher level of things. Information wasn't painful to have after all.
"You'd be correct; I prefer the peace and quiet over the din of the battlefield. In my youth I sought to use force much more than needed and lord have mercy did that bite me in the ass. But that's not going to stop me from defending my new home."
The man shrugged and placed a tablet down on the table. The price that they had discussed was clear as day there if everything seemed to be in order with the other two.
"Is that a surprise to you?"
