The lights of the city shined brightly off the ground as the rain trickled gently from the sky. Viktor pulled the hood over his head as Genesis opened her umbrella and walked steadily behind Viktor. The rain picking up in random intervals as they walked by vendor after vendor, each bragging about how their respective product was better than their competitors. Gangsters shaking down business owners for "protection" money and the occasional fight between rival gangs. The Russian found it nothing more than petty squabbling, he had seen real fights. Fights where people lost their lives and orphans were made. Fights that Viktor hoped would stay on a battlefield.
He couldn't help but think about that, these kids fought for "control" over territory they had no right staking. And yet Viktor had seen, killed even, kids no older than them. But, all's fair in love and war. And there was definitely an underground war going on here. Just something Viktor had no care for. He wasn't being paid, so it wasn't his problem.
Almost as sobering as a hit to the jaw, Viktor bumped into a man, whom he assumed was probably drunk. He was ripped out his world of thought and placed back into reality as he spoke and kept walking;
"Are you blind? Keep an eye out, fool."
the Russian would push the man out of the way if he was still there, or if he refused to move. Viktor had tangled with local gangs, both Yakuza and otherwise. He wasn't scared of this guy, and would gladly put him in the dirt if he had to.
Genesis tried to apologize with a bow as she would still be behind Viktor, who was still going. He hopes he wasn't a drug lord or king pin. Viktor had enough enemies as is. She hated that about him, how he just didn't care. When she did. This man could possibly have connections that could land Viktor in prison for the rest of his life. Though he'd argue that, considering he was a government sanctioned killer. Another reason he wasn't scared of these small time gangsters, they were nothing more than Fleas on the back of the dogs neck. An annoyance, but not life threatening.
But even a flea could carry a plague.
