Whitewater the city that never sleeps, maybe who knows all Kazuya knows is that its the best place to umwind after a long day of work. a place where he is free from bossy co workers and customers who think the world revolve around them, a place where he can relax and hang out with Royland. The two slowly got closer over time as their friendship got stronger over time and having a day to just chill was great for him.
" oy Royland why whitewater again, I think my time would be better spent going to a different city, I have not seen Rustport yet I will have you know. " Said the man as he kept his hands inside his pants, his clothes were much more casual than usual.
" Calm down now Kazuya, this trip is well worth our time. there is a new bar opening tonight, and I am pretty sure cut- I mean well informed digimon are going there. So we can in turn go ask them about the digimentals, and have great time doing so is a plus right ? " Said the small knight as he chuckled nervously hoping kazuya did not figure out his true intentions of flirting away.
" I see well I hope you do not get carried away in your "information gathering" and I will do some real investigation. and besides I have longed for a drink, and who knows maybe we will get lucky again and meet people like Colin, Luke, Bellamy and Gaz "
The two then entered the newly open bar, Royland imediatly spotted a lunamon and decided to approach her and try to flirt with her while Kazuya went and ordered a drink from the bartender Stingmon who was pretty knowledgable and had an interesting conversation with Kazuya.
Lunamon and Royland walked outside of the bar where Royland decided to ask her out, she turned him down politely and went away. while Royland stood there moping infront of the bar with his arms crossed looking down.

“Simba can’t go into a bar! He’s too young!” Talia, despite arguments from the rabbit, was all too curious to check this place out. “Nah, he’ll be fine! We’ll order him a milkshake or something, besides aren’t you two technically the same age?” Tohru scoffed. “Yep, but I’m more worldly experienced than him...well I’m technically not but I think I was in another life! It’s too hard to explain okay?!” The gallant twin just knew for someone reason she’d been important in another life, and maybe Simba was too but it somehow different...now why, where, how or when this all happened was still a huge mystery to her, maybe one she would never even find out, which to be honest Tohru didn’t have an issue with since her only priority was keeping company and protecting her brother and human. “Nooo I don’t want a milkshake, I want something grown up, like beer!”
Welp, might as well order it for him and let him try (and hate) it right? The poor little fellow, he just wanted to be respected and not babied, but at the same time his childish like personality made him difficult not to baby. “Anything you want pal! How about you Tohru?” Come to think of it, she’d never seen the two of them express interest in alcohol, probably because of their young natures - the thing with Tohru was she acted like an adult, but at the same had a childlike innocence she only displayed around Simba and herself, really around those only she trusted, as if being the ‘mom’ of the trio was some of emotional guard for her. But her human and brother knew she was a cuddlebug at heart who loved ice cream and wanted to curl up and watch disney movies.
“Here, these are pina coladas, think of them as alcoholic ice cream.” After grabbing a free booth, Talia had ordered for the both of them, having realized what they’d enjoy after thinking of ice cream earlier - the pineapple coconut cocktail was way too rich and sweet to have any kind of potent effect, and at the same both Simba and Tohru would feel smug thinking they were being all cool drinking booze. “Yay!” It only took a sip for them to be hooked. “Mmm sweet! Thanks Talia.” She’d noticed another patron come inside, particularly because it was yet another human with a digimon which for whatever reasons she always found inquistive, probably because they were rare and few-ish here, and while going to the bar for refills a bit later, Talia noticed the same cat looking glum at the counter. “Hey, cheer up! There’s plenty of fish in the sea.” Rejection was never fun, which was why the girl couldn’t help but order him a pina colada as well. “A little gift from me to you.”

Roy entered the bar as he saw Kazuya talking to a stingmon, he decided to leave them be and went to the counter sitting on a chair and put both of his knees on the table and put his head on his palms. he looked sad and bummed as he turned to look at Kazuya waiting for him to finish, and complain to him that his best performance couldn't even give him a second chance to impress as he was still sad about the harsh rejection.
Kazuya on the other hand gained an interesting nugget of information on a treasure hunting club that could prove to be helpful, after taking their he continued chatting with the stingmon asking him about work in the digital world.
The spadamon let out a sigh of frustration pondering on what to do now, he started to remeinence on his past and what happened to him. Just when he was focusing on it too much, a young lady came to him and snapped him out of it, she offered him a pina colada and some nice words "huh ? oh you saw what happened, no it was not a rejection but it was not a yes either, I mean forget about it. thanks for the pina colada!" he said with a smile on his face, he saw two digimon drinking next to her and imediately remember Luke and Bellamy "so are those you partners ? " He pointed at the cloaked digimon and asked.
"Oops sorry look like I forget my manners, the name Royland nice to meet ya. i-is it okay if I sit with you guys, I am waiting on my friend to finish something. " he said as rubbed the back of his head smiling. Kazuya on the other noticed the woman who approached his feline partner, and decided to let Royland be after all its rude to bail on this stingmon.

“They sure are.” Talia had decided already this cat in knight armor was adorable, almost reminding her of a more sassy Simba in a way. “And I’ll assume that the human you came in here with is your partner? Sorry, I totally sound like a creeper, I just happened to notice these things I guess! It’s not like humans are native to the digital world so when I see one it strikes me.” And when the digimon asked if he could sit with them Talia held no reservations. “Of course you can, come on over!” And when the girl approached with the new friend the twins watched with curiosity about the newcomer. “Oooh, are you a knight?” asked Simba while Tohru decided to be a little more subtle.
“Looks like an ordinary spadamon to me.” Aww, that bunny was so cute when she was playing the tsundere, and Talia just couldn’t help but tease her. “Or do you just he’s cute?” That definitely caught the rabbit off guard. “What?! Noooo, I told you digimon don’t do that kind of thing, I don’t even know what you’re talking about.” She crossed her arms, to which Talia placed the hare on her lap. “Meh, just don’t embarrass me, I’m not a little kid.”
It was rare she sought out affection from the hare since Talia knew she preferred her independence - cuddles weren’t her thing but sometimes she just couldn’t help wanting to hug the grumpy little girl scout rabbit. “Sis is a party pooper sometimes, but she means well!” Tch, he thought party pooper, she thought follower of the rules. Rules were there to keep away chaos, simple as that. “Your partner should come over too! I love talking to other people with digimon, its so...relatable I guess? Like having something in common by default.”

Royland smiled at the optimistic girl as she confimered that the twins where indeed here partners, she then seemed to have noticed Him and Kazuya enter the bar "yep he is my partner, infact dare I say the best." he said with a smug smile as he took a sip from his pina colada "and that is totally understandable, humans do stand out like a sore thumb in this world filled with digimon " He said as he flashed Talia a smile, he felt something sincere and nice about her that he quite enjoyed. Royland then finished his pina colada and walked towards the twins his chest forward in a smug manner, his ego getting stronger by The hackmons compliment "yep the most dashing and gallant knight in fact but you can call me Roy if you want" he said as he flashed a bright white smile to the twins, before sitting on a chair next to the twins. He looked at the lopmon when she said that he was an ordinary spadamon which was true for the most part, he wanted to impress her because of her statement but before he could try to say anything Talia catches him off guard by saying he is cute.
The spadamon shy'd away from Talia as he looked away from her direction as he looks away and blushes as red as a tomato "I-I am no-not cute I am handsome I will h-have you know" He barely managed to say that as he could handle compliments well especially not after that rejection earlier today, he wanted to take the attention away from so he deviced a genius (?) plan "Also the cute one is this lopmon here, who I do not think I have the pleasure of knowing her name infact I do not think I know your names." He said as he smiled at the lopmon, he thought that this way he will be able maintain his composure.
"oh yeah he should, wait a second let me call him over guys. " He said as he jumped from the chair and walked to Kazuya, "hey man, are you free ? cause there is some people I would like you to meet. "
Kazuya nodded to the stingmon who left and went back to work "yeah I just finished, where are they ?"
Royland motioned to his partner to follow him, when they reached Talia Royland took a step forward to be infront Kazuya "Kazuya this Talia, Talia this Kazuya" He said before sitting down.
"Hello there nice to meet you, I see that you have twin digimon that must be a lot fun. mind if I take a seat " He said as he smiled awkardly.

Hmph, those that usually brag about themselves ending being the biggest hypocrites. Tohru kept her thoughts to herself of course since she was polite and knew blurting out such vile thoughts was highly inappropriate for someone as mature as herself, even to someone as silly as this knight cat, but the rabbit liked to think of herself as respectful to all digimon, never treating one like the gum on her paw so to speak. “But can’t you be both?” Still, the rabbit rolled her eyes when her human pointed out that the digimon could be handsome and cute at the same time, perhaps out of mild jealousy at Talia fawning over this cat as if he was some kind of new puppy, wondering what it would be like if she fawned over her - the rabbit did not like cuddles or attention and Talia knew this, which was she limited her affection for her.
But now that Tohru was seeing a digimon other than her brother be given such affection the rabbit couldn’t help but find herself...longing a bit? Was that the right term? It was kind of like not wanting to a play game because she thought it looked childish, and then watching everyone have fun and being envious from not being part of the group, part of the collective if that made sense, especially since this modern scenario involved the attention of Talia. But would such affection made her think less of me? She takes me as the serious one and I don’t want to change that by going all golden retriever...a double edged sword I suppose. “You can call me Tohru, Roy. It means to be transparent in Japanese.” The name was fitting since the hare liked to think of herself as honest and clear, never being fake or having alternate intentions with someone. “And Simba is named after some cartoon lion character, don’t ask.” The dragon proceeded to ramble on in a childlike way about the disney movie and the plot of how the lion cub exiled himself after his father’s murder and eventually defeated his evil uncle to become a king.
“Please, have a seat, we’re just learning about disney movies apparently.” The blonde said as she invited the human to join them. “Fun is a stretch, they’re a pain sometimes but it’s a pain that’s worth it I guess. Names Talia by the way.”

Royland was embarassed by the amount of undeserved affection the blonde woman is giving him, he began to tap the counter with his finger as he looks down barely managing to look the woman in the eyes, before taking a deep breath and looking up "I mean yeah sure, but cute is for kids and that does not fit me the manly man that is me. " He said as he put his hand on his chest as he puffed it up to appear manly or atleast that what he thinks, his confidence is slowly going back up. He then smiled as he heard the name of his new friends (?) and was suprised at the bizarre difference between their names one was named a beautiful name that has a cool and wonderful meaning and the other was named after a disney character, which was weird to say the least "Wow that sounds beautiful, Tohru. I love the sound of it. And Simba as in the disney character ? " Royland asked before Tohru rambled about it confirming it, he nodded and smiling as he listened.
"Oh I love that movie, it has a beautiful story great animation and music. a true masterpeice, what I love about the movie is that the fact that Timon and Pumpa add a feeling of fun and whimsy, balancing the seirous tone of that movie. " Royland said as he continued to ramble about the movie, his day of being alone in the house learning about the human world paid off.
Kazuya smilied as he took a seat next to Talia "Disney movies are always fun no matter how many years pass, but as someone who was born and raised in Japan I have a slight bias to studio Ghibli movies. " He said as he ordered a cup of water, he then turned to Talia. "I see, that is wonderful. I wish I can say the same thing but in all honesty Roy has been suprisingly helpful. Nice to meet you, The name is Kazuya Oda"
"Hey what is that suppose to mean ? " Roy said as he scrunched up his face glaring angirly at his partner, who could not help but smile at his adorable partner. "Anyways, I know that the only way to get here is via Japan so I want ask, do you live in Japan ?" He only asked because of her name and her feauters which are not common to Japanese women.

Tohru had to stiffle a laugh when the cat referred to himself a manly man, wishing to be snarky but also wishing to be polite at the same time. “But you’re not a human man, you’re a cat!” Simba’s childlike observation made her laugh a little. Right out of the mouths of babes. “Forgive my brother; you know little kids, they basically have no filter.” The dragon pouted at being called a little kid. “And you’re a...know-it-all, yeah!” Weeeell it wasn’t a complete and total lie but it was a pretty decent clapback, thought the rabbit would never let him know that. “Yup, and now you know about our names, how did you end up with the name Royland?” Yes he had an ego, but something about this cat’s spunk and courage caught the curiosity of both twins; granted in different ways but it was all the same to a degree - basically, Tohru and Simba would befriend anyone who was nice, but they especially liked those who had energy like they did, and the cat seemed to just fit that.
“Really?! I love Studio Ghibli films - one year I went to a...costume party as Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle.” Crap, to think she’d nearly given away her cosplaying secret to this guy. “I know he’s a guy and all but there aren’t that many blondes in Studio Ghibli movies - I would love to go as Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind though one day!” Yup, she could just see herself riding on a glider with the twins at her side, exploring the pretty yet deadly toxic jungle, plus so many of those insects held a resemblance to digimon, particularly the Ohms. “I always admired her for her bravery and selflessness and willingness to do what was right for her people - it’s kind of a nice deviation from your standard animated princess if you ask me. And - correct, I do live in Japan but I’m originally American - basically, I came here through a study abroad program and never left. How about you?”

Royland was taken by suprise thanks to Simba's followed by Tohru's laughter, both combined to make him feel embarassed. Royland then took chugged down his pina colada very quickly before turning towards the hackmon quickly "Well yeah that is clearly evident by my looks, but I did not really mean it literally. I was just saying that I am like too old to be called cute, like a digimon man" Royland said before turning his attention to Tohru the lopmon, she said something interesting an insult with the cadence of a compliment, he really did not know how to feel about it "Thank you..? " Roy said unsure if that was the right thing to say in this scenario. "By the way, you are the older one Tohru ?", he asked based on her statement.
He then chuckled when the lopmon asked him about how he got his name "That is actually a silly story, you see in my previous life I learned about a human world knight called sir Roland, so I thought it was cool name so I put my own spin on it, underwhelming I know" He said before laughing.
"By the way, how long have you two stayed with Talia ? Cause I only spent a couple of weeks, but its been a wild ride learning about the human world, they are so different from us. " Royland said as he got into conversation with the interesting siblings, both of then seemed like the kind of digimon he can see himself hanging out with them.
"Thats great, I have not met alot people outside of Japan that love that studio's films. But you seem to like them alot, to go as one of the characters atl a halloweem party. I usually go for easy costumes, except one time I went as Jotaro Kujo from JoJo's bizarre adventure and it suprisingly worked" Kazuya said as he chuckled at that funny memory. " Oh yeah, you should totally go for it, Nausicaa is one of the most iconic female characters in animation history a brave and beautiful woman who has a lot of confidence. I am happy to see that alot of other characters seem to follow her legacy, but some of them fail to capture what made her work." Kazuya said as he got into the topic, Kazuya was a fan of good story-telling and meeting another fan is usually a delight, and Talia was extra delightful.
"I see, I am happy to hear that you liked it here in Japan, that makes me proud. " He said with a smile on his face "As for me, I am a Japanese man born and raised here. while I was lucky enough to have recieved quality education, but I never travelled around and hopefully I can in the near future." Kazuya said as he turned towards the waiter calling him before turning back to Lola and the twins "Would you guys like anything ? its on me."
"I would like some light beer Kazuya" Roy said as he wanted something harder but not too hard yet.

“Oh...I’m not all that good with this expressive stuff language, digimon are so much more literal so I guess I’m not used to the jargon yet.” The dragon could feel his cheeks turning hot with embarrassment as he reached for his drink, feeling the rum start to give him a little bit of a buzz. “I am! er at least I think I am? I know that I’ve had more rebirth cycles than Simba has - Talia has a theory that we weren’t always twins, but at the present none of us know exactly how that can be possible.”
Their human might have been good with computers, but as far as her knowledge digimon death cycles went was holed, mostly because there were no resources for that, and she doubted it was that simple to begin with. “It’s true, for some reason I have this instinct that my old life was very long.” The dragon stuck his tongue out at his sis! “But just cause I’m younger doesn’t make me less tough, besides I can breathe fire now!” Heh, the little guy didn’t mind flames, but the sound of bathwater could make him run for his life, a fact Tohru would spare him the embarrassment of revealing for now. “Yeah, till you set yourself on fire Dingdong!” Simba perked up when he heard the word knight. “Oooh, like the knight in Dark Souls?” He adored that game, even if it was too scary sometimes! “Eh, I wouldn’t call it underwhelming, it sounds to me like this Sir Roland was really important to you.”
At first the twins had to ponder how long it had actually been since the night Talia found them trying to break into the vending machine at her office. “Good question, I’d say maybe a month or two?” It felt like longer but had that much time truly passed? Oddly enough, Tohru still wasn’t used to the different way that time passed in the land of humans as opposed to the digital world, if anything she found it quite velocitizing. “We’ve been learning plenty about human culture too though, particularly through the media!”
Meanwhile Talia was entertained talking to Kazuya. “Traveling is really fun - forgive me for sounding kinda blunt, but my family life in the states was really dysfunctional - divorced parents, yada yada, so I needed to basically get as far away as I could. And I found a job and boyfriend here so no reason to leave, ya know? I might be born American, but Japan is my home now - I’ll take a beer too!”

Roy couldn't help but chuckle as he saw Simba get embarassed "Its okay Simba, we all make mistakes, no one is perfect so do not worry I guess." Roy said with a smile on his face, as he went for his light beer that was handed to him and took a sip from it as he turned his attention towards Tohru, as he kept drinking his beer. "Oh really ? You have had many rebirth cycles. thats interesting, I have only had one, this my second life. Anyways do you happen to remember whats it was like ? " Roy asked, his curiousty spiked through the roof the topic of rebirth intigued him.
Roy turned his attention towards Simba, who apparently did not remember his past as clearly as Roy does, " Ofcourse not, I bet you are super strong. and breathing fire sounds amazing, I can only summon blue flame but I can't show you it now. but I will later." Roy said looking around, the bar is filled with many digimon and doing something like conjuring fire will cause a panic so he decided to not do it. Roy ears then perk up, when he heard Simba mentions Dark souls the name was familiar but never bothered to research it, he was too busy learning about human history and watching cartoons.
"Dark souls !? I have heard about it, it has knights ? that sounds super cool. And yeah you could say that I really like the name. An oh really ? that is not a very long time, well I have been with Kazyua for just a week so not a really long period" Roy said as he thought back how one week ended up quickly, he then looked at Simba " I have been doing something similar when Kazuya's at work, aside from cleaning the house cause my god does he need my help there" Kazuya laughed nervously, He did not need details about how messy his house is be leaked this quickly, " but anyways, I learned about humans through this site called waka, no woka oh no no I got it its wikipedia. Yes wikipedia, that site is amazing filled with alot of valuable information and also alot of useless information but overall its a great web site"
Kazuya was suprised to hear Talia talk about her problems, and while they weren't exactly similar he could still heavily relate with her. But he was happy to know that she found a stable life in Japan, he then called for the drinks and took a sip from his "Well I understand how troublesome familial problems cab be, I am just glad you could over come those and be surronded by people who love you " Kazuya stopped for a second almost feeling.......Jealous ? no that can't be he shook that idea away "By the way how does it work ? Does your boyfriend know about digimon and if not how do you deal with it ?" Roy stopped and thought about Kazuya's question, he was lucky that Kazuya lived alone so there was no need to hide in his house.

With an unsure expression, Tohru bit her lip and shook her head somewhat quietly, as if feeling awkward that she didn’t have a straight answer for the lion knight. “None at all, well I do remember that I lived in a house or something with others, but for all I know that could be part of my memories of the village of beginnings. From what I recall, Simba and I played together there until the day we evolved from being a pair of botamon to a moonmon and koromon and then something brought us to the human world.” Black hole? Magic spell? Bearded guy on a motorcycle saving them from a dark wizard? Plus it didn’t matter what it was anyway since they’d managed to get to Talia safe and sound! “And I’ll show you my flames!” The rabbit cringed, were these two going to have some kind of fire show competition? “Just don’t go burning any digital forests down, or I’ll have to freeze you both into place.”
Their humans love for video games having rubbed off on them, the twins suddenly got excited at the prospect of showing Dark Souls to Roy (and possibly deciding to see who was the best at it, apparently Talia’s competitiveness was magnetic as well). “You have to come over and play! And Talia makes pretty good pork cutlets too.” The blonde blushed. “Eh, how difficult can breading and frying a piece of meat be?” Then again there were the basics of cooking that one could easily forget, like not letting the meat be at room temperature before cooking or the oil not being at the correct level of heat - cooking cold meat could make it rubbery and the oil not being warm enough would make the cutlet way too soggy and not get crispy at all - also if the meat was too wet it could make the oil bubble up everywhere. “Cooking’s pretty easy once you get the basics down.”
Hehehe, poor Kazuya. “Awww, you’re so nice to help him out Roy.” What was it with guys and having messy bachelor pads anyway? “Lucky! Talia never lets us do anything she thinks’ll make a mess!” Pfft, they never let her stop them if they wanted something. “Do I need to recall the cereal incident, which if I’m correct but was done without my permission anyway?” You’d think they’d know to use bowls - the digital world wasn’t some underdeveloped civilization that didn’t have cooking utensils but nooo they’d just had to dump a gallon of milk into the entire cereal bag and make the kitchen smell like lactose for two weeks. “N-no not here, that’s embarrassing!” Hehe, now she knew how to shut them down - note to self: never forget the cereal incident.
“Actually he has one of his own, a cute little cranky pagumon thing with big fluffy ears! He must be a rookie by now though, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen one another after he went missing a while back.” Or just up and left her for someone else, but then why would he abandon his apartment too if that was the case? “I thought that was the case anyway but then I found out from someone else that he joined some science harem of women here in the digital world.”

Roy tilted his head at Tohru's statement, he had not thought about it before but not all digimon remember their own past lives. So how come he remembers everything clearly, even the details he wished he did not remember up to the point of his own death. Everything was so vivid, why ? He then shook his head as this was not the time appropiate time to do that. "I see thats really strange, but then my Egg just Showed up in the human world for no apparent reason, So I cant really judge. Oh and Kazuya said that his digivice materilaized after he picked up my egg which should mean we aren't destined partners. But then again Kazuya was really drunk when he picked me up, he even tried to flirt with this girl who did not get that he was even flirting with her." Roy said chuckling really hard, while Kazuya was really embarassed yet again, too bad Roy was not going to stop saying stuff like that to people.
Roy then got excited at the prospect of showing off his powers to Simba, the many things he could do with his fire would totally impress Simba. "Nice I will show you all the cool things I can do with my flames, I have amazing tricks." Roy said a bit confident as he broadened his shoulders and gave Simba a confident smile. He then turned towards Tohru who seemed more worried about the dammage the two of them can and possibly will do on the forests, which is a really fair argument to be honest. " Oh no do not you worry about that, my fire control skills are top notch. Infact I would love for you to come see them in person later." Roy said cheerfully with a big smile on his face. He did not know the twins alot but from what he can tell they seem nice enough people and they do remind him of a couple digimon he knew in his previous life.
Roy then got excited at the prospect of going over to someone's house and playing games with them, also there is food so this really sounds like a night for him. "Ooooh I would love that, can I go over to them Kazuya ? " Roy asked excitedly looking at Kazuya with his big bright gold eyes. Kazuya was honestly kind of confused, since the Roy he knows is a hardened warrior but now he is acting like a little kid asking premission from his big brother. "Sure you can, I can take you there and once I get that holo suit you could go on your own." Kazuya said in a confused manner, the two them paid attention to Talia who apparently was a good cook.
