'Glorified Battery', huh? It had been quite a while since the General had met a Digimon with such a viewpoint, accented by the armored dragon simply dropping the human on the floor. Denryu himself didn't even grace that with words, but the Devidramon let out a low growl himself.
"You have a funny way of showing that you don't want to start a fight, then." At this point, however, there was little reason to antagonize him further. Dr. Cross still had to stabilize the Meicoomon and lead Hunter out of the quadrant - and with her rather flat description, the MeiCrackmon simply scoffed.
"Compromised? This isn't my first rodeo, doc, and if that data didn't off me, a Mei's not gonna do that much." Thankfully, this was said more in a low, frustrated whisper, the cat even tapping at the Solomon ring around her neck for reference. However, she'd follow right along - and the 'General' would soon be left to play his role. That as a tamer to this guardian, across this arrogant flame dragon.
Of course, seeing Tawna pulled away from the scene wasn't exactly the most comfortable point - but Fladramon's second point drew far more attention. He came here to secure a statue? Hearing that he had a boss, the Devidramon's eyes narrowed, claws tensing across his potential opponent. Denryu, giving a silent sigh, simply returned a rather bored tone:
"How much gold you talking?" That was his answer: there was nothing he'd be willing to talk to if there was an uncontrolled third party privy to the information. "I'm sure you realize us tracking down this 'statue' ahead of the 'others' looking for its' not something that we're going to give up easily. However, it doesn't sound like you actually care about what we do in the end. Though if you do?"
He gave a nod towards Demon. "Try your hand with him. You'll find his arena much harder to deal with than the cat's."

"I know; I've been told I'm hilarious at the bars." He replied to the other digimon with a grin, somewhat glad to see the handsome dragon act as something other than the human's faithful attack dog; even if in the end, he was really only doing it to perform part of his duties as an attack dog.
Turning his gaze back to the human, he found himself somewhat surprised that the Chief ignoring the clearly grieving human was actually bothering him. Somewhat. He had not been particularly sensitive about the subject himself, admittedly. But it couldn't be helped; this guy had chosen to place the cat on the job. Regardless of the cat's performance of her duties, one also had to wonder what the hell was he thinking when he did.
"Hey Chief; ignore me if you like; I'm an asshole. But have you got nothing to say to the kid over there? After all, some minimal professional standards on your part would have saved them a lot of grieving. Who the hell picks a data loading psychopath like that cat for anything but killing? Did you see her resume? Can't miss it, she has it written all over her teeth." Jeez, Was he the only professional here?
Whatever. The human chose to ignore Fladramon's question entirely, instead replying with his own. Irritating, but nonetheless a response, unlike the flat nothing his previous insult had gotten him. Progress?
"We can discuss costs once we get a few things out of the way. First: You've misunderstood my mission, and to say I don'care for what happens to it is also inaccurate... sort of. I was ordered to make sure no damage came to the statue, after all. And I take my orders very seriously." It was the professional thing to do. And nothing was more important than your reputation as a professional when a considerable part of your revenue came from mercenary work.
"And Second: I didn't really come'ere looking for a fight, but carnivore was very quick and eager on the trigger, and far too stubborn on the negotiating table; we sadly couldn't compromise. Good thing, I guess. Based off her performance, I would have thought killing intruders was exactly what we were supposed to do." He said, not so subtly reminding the youth that yes, his fuck up of a choice had screwed up everything.
"Anyway. Yeah, I do care about what you'll do with the statue. Cause if you intend to damage it, well; I'm 'fraid that dragon you've got there ain't the biggest one I've tango'd with." In more ways than one, he had to stop himself from saying. "No offense, big guy."
There was a pause after this, in which Fladramon tried his hardest to not say it. Don't say it-
"So... Much Harder, huh?" He said, turning his gaze back to the dragon, giving him an up and down glance before smirking. "I'll be mature for once and not make the obvious joke."

Titania was still in a lot of pain. This was something that was becoming more and more evident as time went on. It felt like anesthetics wearing off, really. Adrenaline leaving the body. That evolution did not do her any favors. Yet she was uncertain at the same time. It felt tense. The air itself felt tense. "...I-I c-can confirm, that...thing was very eager to try chomping a piece out of everyone..."
And succeeded.
...Haru...
Within the span of a few moments, everything that had just happened made itself clear to Titania, and she wriggled free of Naoko's arms. NOPE. Gonna need a second on the ground to process that.
Naoko meanwhile paid little heed to that. Or...what was being stated, really. She swore Fladramon was talking about her at first, which kind of threw her off a little, before he segued onto another topic entirely. In the meantime, she decided to take a seat. Big white cube seemed a little more calming than the big spooky forest, really. "Someone similar, probably..." She grumbled. It was something. At least she was talking.
Titania took a breath. "...If you two tango, you're on your own, I'm afraid. I...Can't quite...keep fighting. Not unless I...Do what I did again. I'd rather not. Please don't make me..." Going through an experience as nightmarish as that twice would basically break someone, truth be told.

It was clear that diplomacy here was going to be a challenge, perhaps more than what would have been worth the General to try and bridge. No matter what, Fladramon and Naoko could very easily bring up using Hunter for this mission - and honestly, their point was valid. Any comments about risks or limited resorces would just come across as flat, neither Demon nor Denryu offering anything else to that point.
They still had a mission to attend to. Beating themselves up over their mistakes could come later - even if the victim's very kin was still in the room. As for the statue itself? "Unfortunate. Anyone who knows where the statue might have been is not someone I can associate myself with." Even the fact that the Fladramon had seen his face was unacceptable risk, and the aspect of a 'cheapskate boss' wasn't making it much easier for him.
"I will say that it is not our intent for harm to come to the statue. Once we leave, the statue will be returned to the desert, as it was or in better condition than it was. If that satisfies you, then turn around and head back towards the exit - I've no intention to keep any of you here. Otherwise..."
With that, Denryu gave a snap - and once more, the white expanse around began to stir, a bright light beginning to radiate from the walls. The exit remained in clear view, behind both Naoko and Fladramon, but forward, the scene would turn a blinding white...
... Until an entirely new atmosphere had replaced it. This wasn't the blank white canvas nor the thick forest from before, but rather the streets of a metropolitan city, at night. Street lamps stretched upward at regular intervals, light cast on the roads below - and despite the 'sphere' from before, should the dragon crane his neck up, he'd see several buildings stretch out towards the sky, an average of thirty stories in height.
The Fladramon himself would be at street level, a heavy rain skipping across the soaked pavement below. Titania and Naoko would be far off to the right, and in fact, indoors, inside a cafe named 'The Safehouse'. Perhaps a bit on the nose, but at least the point came across well-enough.
In front of Fladramon would be the town center, an ornamental fountain at the center of a rather elaborate roundabout. At the opposite end, three stories up, Demon perched himself atop a clock, the red gaze of his visor glaring right down at the blue dragon.
"Call me a 'dragon' again. See what happens."

Hmm. That sounded legit enough. Sagittarimon would probably want to confirm herself (and likely try to find a way to mix them into the group- she was always out to find lucrative contracts), but as far as Fladramon was concerned, he had done his job here. The fact that the human kept trying to give them a way out (despite the constant threats) was proof enough that they didn't really intend harm.
"No need Chief, sounds good to m-" And the the place was already changing. "Really?" He couldn't help but groan, looking straight at the human. The dude hadn't even bothered to wait for his response!
"I was just about to say we were cool." He said with some mild annoyance, crossing his arms over his chest while tapping his foot.
Then rain set in. Of course there was rain. It seemed like nobody liked a good, sunny day anymore. The wave of rain falling onto him began to evaporate as it touched him, the vapor wafting from him as he just stood there. Why hadn't he gotten some cover from the water, eh?
"Just grand." He grumbled.
Despite the shitty weather, he took his time to give a good, appreciative look at the city that had just popped up, releasing a suitably impressed whistle at the unnecessarily detailed skyline.
"So... I take it this is your 'harder place', big guy?" He finally said, turning his gaze towards the perched Devidramon. "It's a nice place you've got here. I was gonna ask if you were taking me to your apartment earlier, but I did intend it as a joke." Said the dragon, giggling to himself as he finally turned his gaze towards the dark dragon, laying a hand on his waist.
He got another threat in response. Oh for love's sake. "So bloodthirsty." He harrumphed. These guys just loved throwing threats around like candy.
"I too thought the 4 threats so far hadn't been anywhere nearly enough. No better way to make sure people realize you've got nothing but good intentions than to threaten to beat them within an inch of their life over and over, I say." He said.
"But all that nonsense aside. What exactly is wrong with being a dragon, mister?" Of course he would take offense to the tone, being, you know, a dragon and what not. He made a show of flipping his long, nonexistent locks of hair in a sassy manner, still glaring up. "You may be surprised to hear this, but some tend to take offense to the tone you used. A lot of us like to think there's nothing wrong with being a dragon, thank you very much." He said, gesturing towards himself. I, mean just look at him. Angels, demons, damn god man digimon; they wished they looked half as good as this dragon.
"You may be handsome, but that attitude of yours is just one big turn off." He sighed, shrugging his shoulders in disappointment. Then, he turned back to the human.
"All that aside. I won't fight your... ugh, Demon, since being a dragon is so damn terrible, but I can't just leave, either. I've got a contract with the cat that nearly died; I can't very well just leave her here on her own. Mind if I just sit at that Cafe with the kid while... I dunno, Big guy over there glares holes in the back of my head?" He paused.
"Is there booze in there? I could really get drunk right now. I figure a place called 'The Safehouse' must have some real heavy stuff." He said, the obvious joke seemingly flying high above his head.

Amidst some confusing and altogether vague elaborations by the general, the scenery changed again and Naoko found herself within a cafe. On the nose. But...a place to sit was better than the bare white ground, really. Titania just hopped over towards the nearest window to watch Fladramon and Demon.
It did not take words to express disappointment, apparently. Naoko was left to her own devices, and she opted to...take out her digivice to check some things. It was working again, for one. She didn't have anything to respond to on Tamernet.
...That was a little bit of a relief. She also took the opportunity to see if she could get...something to drink. Seriously, coffee would probably help her mood a little. Maybe collect her thoughts. Something, goddamn it.

Apartment, eh? "I appreciate your enthusiasm to see my parlour, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave you out to dry." Finally able to return some of that snark, at least somewhat, the Devidramon remained on his perch, his visor keeping a keen eye on the scene. The bit about threats went along without comment - aside from a growl from the Devidramon - but that bit about a 'dragon' pushed him just a touch over the edge:
"'Hey Dragon. How's it going, Dragon? You're looking fine, Dragon." He gave a growl, narrowing his eyes behind that visor. "That's what you sound like." So that's what was getting to him? Maybe. Honestly, it was hard to tell with that demon-dragon at times - though he could care less if he was a turn-off.
As for the comment to Denryu? The Xros General returned a shrug: "Do as you will. I'll see if we can change the coding so that its properly stocked." No reason that he couldn't 'tend' to them, considering the situation. With a nod towards the 'Safehouse', he'd look - and once the Fladramon was inside, he'd revise his order to Demon:
"Keep your guard closer to the inner eye. I'll be along." Once more, a portal opened, the General slipping right out of sight...

"Now isn't that more fun than just threatening me? That was very good! Though doesn't really work in this context, hun." He said while gesturing to himself and the constant haze of vapor surrounding him. "I don't really do 'wet'."
Sadly the cleverness didn't last long; he had thought he had only called the other a dragon once, but it appeared that alone was enough to set him off for... he didn't know, generalizing, perhaps?
"After saying it once? I'll have to mind my nouns next time. But regardless... I'm doing mighty well, thanks for noticing my awesome looks." Responded the blue dragon flippantly, once again making a show of sweeping his long, awesome, non existent locks of hair behind his back as he turned to make way towards the shop, nodding thankfully at the human.
"Thank you kindly, Chief." He really didn't care if he was called a dragon, or Fladramon, or whatever. He hadn't claimed a random, meaningless name like most tamed digimon did, nor did he consider it important or meaningful to his identity. But he supposed that was just his view, not shared by many others.
Thankfully he didn't really care if others shared it or not.

"...Boo. No fight. Or anything else." Titania finally spoke. The Puttimon was hoping for -some- distraction from things but that was evidently not the case. At worst, barbs were being traded. Terrible ones. She felt like it was very possible for her--a goddamn baby, to do better than that.
"Another fight'd be a mess." Naoko responded, flatly. Seeing as there was nobody around? She just decided to make some coffee herself. Wasn't that illegal? Who knows? "Yeah. Nothing you'd be able to fix, anywho. Or were you hoping to use me to somehow make everything worse again?" ...Yeah. Salt was in the air, to put it simply.
"I guess humans really are...flawed. Batteries. Coming here was a mistake. A mistake upon a mountain of mistakes."
There was little more to be done here.
