Notes: Since I'm writing this from an AU perspective, I'll be utilizing Pandora's champion form Witchmon in this prompt.
"A digimon, you say? My, that sounds dangerous," commented the pink-haired woman as she shuffled her deck of tarot cards. She stared pleasantly enough at the officer seated across the table from her on a park picnic bench. Everything else considered, this had been a lovely afternoon up until ten minutes ago. "I have heard a lot of mumbling lately about the increased patrols in the area, but I have every ounce of faith that you and your fellows will keep everyone safe from harm."
Dressed in a plain white blouse, blue jeans, and sneakers Pandora had thought that she was blending in rather well with her holosuit. Somebody must have tipped the authorities off to her presence in the area. The thought was blood boiling, but she kept a calm and cordial facade for now. The officer seated across from her looked to be just as apprehensive of the topic. He was middle-aged with sharp facial features, but unspoken forces, which Pandora assumed to be stress and fatigue, was starting to salt his hair and age his face.
"Riiight," started Sergeant Kou dryly as he stared back at Pandora with a weary look in his eyes. "Your confidence in us is appreciated. We're hoping to minimize collateral damage. Digimon aren't wild animals. At least, not all of them, anyways. In that respect the police are remaining optimistic that most incidents will remain peaceful." The officer looked like he was about to say more, but thought against it and shook his head.
"...but, they haven't?" added Pandora onto Sergeant Kou's last statement. She was still shuffling her deck, but with a slower and methodical pace. All the while her eyes never left the officer's. It didn't surprise her when the human looked away before replying.
"..and I sincerely hope that our investigation today will turn out differently. Calmly."
"Mmm, you say that.. and yet you've brought armed men with you today." The observation pulled Sergeant Kou's eyes back to Pandora, who in turn kept staring leisurely right back. She had been visually ignoring the four armed officers standing beside the table since their discussion had started. The digimon stopped shuffling her cards. The sudden ceasing of movement made the guards shift nervously in her peripheral vision, but she kept ignoring them. "Is that really a token of good faith, Sergeant Kou?"
"Are you going to come with us quietly or not?" The pointed question was punctuated as the officer slapped a pair of handcuffs on the table. "I don't think anyone here wants this to get ugly, and you've been agreeable so far, so-"
"I'm sorry," interrupted Pandora as she glanced down at the cuffs, almost in a bored manner, "but those are too big for me. See?" The digimon's holosuit flickered for a moment before turning off completely. Floating above the picnic table bench the tinkermon tilted her head to the side as she held out her hands, mimicking the posture one might take if they were allowing themselves to be taken into custody. True to her word, her tiny wrists would be ill-suited to human-sized restraints. The sudden change in appearance caused the watching guards to shoulder their rifles anxiously, but Sergeant Kou held up a hand to stop them.
"I see," muttered the police sergeant with a frown as he reached to pick up his cuffs.
"I guess I should disarm myself, though?" The fairy snapped her fingers, making her crimson spear appear floating in front of her. "I've been agreeable so far, haven't I?" Her voice trailed off with a soft, malicious tone as she pointed a finger at the hand Sergeant Kou had hovering over his handcuffs. The barbed weapon turned to point at its target before flying through the air and impaling the human's hand to the table with a heavy thud.
Needles of golden light one foot in length then flashed into existence around Pandora, creating a sphere around the tinkermon spanning four feet in diameter. Racing across towards the nearest two guards the fairy ignored the sound of scraping wood as her needles tore up the table beneath herself. She didn't even have to fly directly at the two men. Merely darting between them was enough for her prickly sphere to rip through their uniforms and draw bright crimson lines across their sides. The tinkermon circled around one of them, and by that time the sensation of burning from her Pins And Needles attack began to kick in as the two men started screaming as if their cuts were on fire.
The fairy zigzagged at sharp angles towards the remaining two guards, being mindful to keep the first pair of armed assailants behind her so their compatriots might hesitate to shoot at her. One of them did anyways, and gaps in Pandora's sphere of needles appeared as bullets collided with her magic. The tinkermon made sure to fly directly into that man before catching the last guard in a similarly direct assault. Once all four of the guards were writhing with the feeling of being burned alive from their injuries Pandora floated behind Sergeant Kou, who was still trying to remove the barbed spear from his hand with a panicked expression.
A flash of maroon light signaled her digivolving into her champion form, witchmon. Pandora's tinkermon spear disappeared then, freeing the Sergeant's hand. He quickly tried to turn in his seat and draw his handgun, but by the time he managed to do so the witchmon had already blown a kiss in his direction. The human blinked as something warm touched his cheek. Gritting his teeth to steel his resolve he raised his pistol and tried to pull the trigger. Frustration expanded on his face as he found himself unable to do so.
"Now that I have your attention," began the witchmon as her maroon eyes stared at the human with unveiled contempt, "I have not been agreeable. I have merely been tolerant of you and your kind, and now I've lost my patience for your nonsense. The only people who could have saved you were the ones who agreed to quietly leave." Pandora reached out to take a hold of the officer's tie before pulling their faces closer with a harsh tug. In a softer, colder tone she whispered one last thing to the human.
"You opened this box, and there's no closing it now."Word Count:1064
