It was such a calm, peaceful day today here at the Valley of Dragons. The female Gomamon has been here quite a few times now on her globetrotting journey. As she was walking across the huge canyon, feeling the warm dirt under her flippers, Elly thought back to all of the people that she met and the places she went to. She had lost track of time of when she first left her village to start this journey. Was it 5 or 6 months? Maybe a year? She wasn’t the best at keeping time. During her whole quest, she met all kinds of humans and digimon. Some of the most memorable people she met were her adopted ChubbyRenamon mother, Karen, her daughter Terra, and her digimon Elec. She was so fortunate to be brought up into their family. It’s sad that she hasn’t seen any of them in a very long time. She always wondered what they’re doing now. Then there was Regina, the RedVeemon super heroine. She only met her couple of times, but she likes her sense of justice and bravery. Plus she looked really good with that yellow cape on her. But the person Elly kept thinking about the most was a very cute, funny, and burpy guy named Rippah, or Rippy as she would like to call him. Before she met him, she enjoyed flirting and dating a lot of different male digimon. But Rippah was quite different from those other boys. It was hard to describe it, but she had a good feeling whenever she was around him. She just missed his cute belches too. They had gone on different paths and she hasn’t seen him for a while either. Elly stopped moving and opened her small brown bag and pulled out a picture of her and Rippah together. All this time, she wished that she had stayed with him. Now she may never see him again. She’s back to traveling on her own again just like when she first started. She couldn’t even digivolve to her champion form anymore. She had been trying, but she just couldn’t do it. It really was like she was starting over again, and she doesn’t like it one bit. It would be enough to make the poor Gomamon break down and cry all day.
But what would that accomplished? Sure, she might never meet a guy like Rippah again or find really good friends like Karen or Terra, but that doesn’t mean she can’t start trying to make new friends. She’ll find some way to digivolve back to champion again someday. It’ll be a brand new adventure to her, exploring different places and meeting new people. She will always be sad to miss her old friends and her boyfriend, but there might be a slim chance that she’ll see them again. She would just have to keep her head up high and preserve. After looking at the picture for a while longer, she put it back inside her bag and pull out a chocolate bar that she “borrowed” from some humans a while back. To Elly, chocolate makes everything better. Elly unwrapped the chocolate bar and started to take a few bites. Suddenly, she felt something hard hit her on the head. She rubbed that spot with her front flipper, wondering what hit her. It felt like it might be a small rock from the top of a cliff. She looked around and saw something shiny on the ground. The curious seal came over to it and picked it up with her claw. Upon a close inspection, looks like some kind of blue jewel, perhaps a sapphire. It was such a beautiful stone, but she wonders where this came from. Maybe it was the thing that fell on her head. Well, perhaps Elly should take this as a sign for the hopeful new future. Plus, it would make a good necklace someday. She happily put the stone inside her bag. And with that, she happily hopped forward through the canyon; hopefully for whatever her future lies.

In the sky, there was a small round object soaring across the canyon. At one’s glance, it would seem like it was a flying, metal ball with a rocket attached to the back of it. This metal ball was carrying a container in its “arms”. It would seem like it functions as a carrying robot, but to where, is anyone’s guess. As it kept flying, a Biyomon was passing by, minding its own business. Suddenly they both collided with each other. The robot almost dropped the container it was holding, but caught it just in time. The Biyomon grumbled under its breath, muttering something about a stupid ball that should have watched where it was flying. The metal ball kept going on its path, getting close to its destination. Speaking about its destination, it can see an old research lab on top of a cliff. It landed in front of the entrance and gently dropped the container to the ground. The door to the lab opened and a figure came outside. It had an appearance of an Agumon, but he had darker skin and wearing a black robe. This was none other than the self-proclaim evil genius, NiseAgumon Hakase. He stepped forward to the metal ball, looking rather satisfied. This was yet another brilliant invention made by him to carry the rest of things from his castle in the Dark Area to his lab here. Inside that container holds the key for the Hakase to finally be powerful enough to rule over the digital world. At long last, after many strings of failures, he might actually succeed on his goal. For many months, he had been researching about the data that gets left behind after a digimon gets defeated in battle. The data that doesn’t get absorbed by the victor were said to disappear into nothingness. The Hakase quickly proved that it wasn’t true, but the original power that came with that data is lost. After a long while, he finally found a way to restore that data’s lost power, or at least he can test out a theory about it. He had spent those same months collecting those lost data and crafting it together into a blue jewel he calls the DigiSoul Rock. With all of that data, he would just need to shoot out a powerful light onto it and restore those lost powers. He can use that power to create a weapon to finally rule over the digital world.
NiseAgumon Hakase was relieved that his transport bot made it back to him in one piece. That’s important as the rock was inside the container. If anything happened to that jewel, it would take months for him to make another one. The Agumon walked around the bot, giving it a closer inspection. He leaned over and noticed that it had a small dent. It must have hit something on the way, but it looked like everything in the container was still there. Now it was time for his plan to come into fruition. He took out a remote from his robe and pushed a button. The roof of the laboratory opened and out came a large laser gun, pointing towards the sky. The Hakase went inside the lab, taking the container with him and the bot following behind him. He stepped over to the controls of the laser. Now all that is required was the DigiSoul Rock. He reached into the container, pulling out all of the contents and…
“It’s not in here…Where’s the DigiSoul Rock?!” The Hakase kept checking the container, but to no avail. The jewel was definitely not in there. He glared over at his bot and gave it a nasty snare. It must have dropped it, that miserable piece of junk. He took out his bat rod and smack the top of it as hard as it could, leaving it with another dent. Now his plans would have to be delayed for a few more months. He was about to hit it again when he stopped and took a deep breath. As he was calming down, he just remember something. He had installed a camera inside the bot just in case something like this would happen. That bot was very glad that it had that; otherwise the Hakase would have turned it into molten metal.
He opened a panel on the back of the bot and pushed a few buttons. Soon the bot opened up and revealed a small monitor. Soon, the screen turned on and showed the flight path that it was going the few minutes before it came back to him. So far, nothing eventfully seemed to have happened. Then suddenly, the image started to static for about a minute and then it came back on again. He was guessing that that must be where the bot got that dent. Now he rewound the footage to just before the crash and changed the angle. He thought he saw someone there just under the bot. After zooming in a few times, it seems that creature was a Gomamon. Something told the Hakase that the Gomamon seemed familiar. Then it hit him.
“No…No! Not her!”
There was no mistaking it. That was the Gomamon from that secret Gomamon village that he tried to kidnap numerous of times. She had foiled his plans time and time again. This made the Agumon’s blood boil. That idiot bot dropped the DigiSoul Rock and now that meddling seal has it. At the very least, he can still be able to recover the sample, plus she’s all alone. Now he just has to find her. She couldn’t have gone too far. Not only would he get the rock back, but he can also get his just revenge.
After pushing a few more buttons, he turned off the monitor and closed the bot back up. He climbed on top of it and gave off an evil grin. “Heehee. Now let’s find our little Gomamon friend. I’m sure she’ll be so happy to see me again. Hahahaha!” He wacked the bot with his rod again and started floating into the air. The Hakase held on tight around it as it hovered outside the lab and climbed up higher. Now it was heading over to its new destination. To that meddlesome Gomamon.

The valley of Dragons. One of the many fantastically named sections of the Digital World noteable for its lack of any dragons and being a valley. At this point one would think that most of these places were named so the could sound more 'edgy' and 'cool' or perhaps a 13 year old boy started calling them that one day and everyone just rolled with it. The bipedal construct stopped in mid air, its body instantly stabilizing so he would remain suspended without the slightest swaying. The new system seemed to working wonders with the new hydraulics he had installed. The creature resisted the urge to make the obvious pun, however that effort proved to be not only fruitless but also pointless.
"Ehuhuehuehue... it vorks 'vanders.'"
Silly comments with the power to make a hundred basement dwellers cringe at once aside, the Valley of Dragons was an area that was currently a Hakainushi base in the making. Or at least that's what Giygas though. Daichi and Barrigan seemed to have disappeared. Possibly someone decided to take an 8 month hiatus and deleted any communication portals from their desktop. It mattered little in either case. The Vandermon still felt incline to check up on this place as his own space shenanigans was underway. His 'royal' eye made a clicking noise before his filed of vision split into several monitors. After briefly sorting them out he laid eyes on what he had come here to investigate.
"Let's see... poorly hidden lab... poorly constructed flying toaster..." Giygas paused for a moment, zooming in at the image. "ASTERISK poorly constructed transport device. I can practically smell ze tears and rustling. Must be a vanna be."At that point the mechanized chimera was ready to start a rant about 'posers' and how they were making the world a duller place but he realized he had forgotten his coral blue number 2 semigloss lipstick and Tumblr account. He'd have to this the old way like some sort of animal.
The Super Mega cracked a grin. First of all this guy needed to be grounded. As Giygas felt generous today, as well as possibly looking to look down on someone, he decided to go with a more tame method. The bot's digital signature was a fairly simple task for the Vandermon to track. The plan was simple. Step 1: Stop the vestigial inventor. Step 2: gravity. Step 3: no one plans that far ahead. All the emperor had to do was extend an arm. He usually remained in his gravity mode for convince unless he planned to fight seriously.
"Graviton field!" The was a small pause as Giygas pondered. Did he want to knock his target down or turn it into a means of creating a blast zone? For now he'd stick with a weak pull. "Kneel!" The second command would come with a wave of his arm, gravity increasing in the surrounding area with the Vandermon suspended in the midst of it. Anything even remotely above the surface would come crashing down. He merely tripled the gravitational pull at this point so it wouldn't have any drastic effects but it should still cause quite a bang.
The researcher would wait until his target was effectively grounded in one way or another, assuming he could escape the pull somehow, before he'd vanish, reappearing near the Hakase shortly after. Spatial Distortion was always fun. "Vell, vell. Gravity is never pleasant, is it?" He'd mock, a sly grin stretching across his face as his wings refolded neatly inside his back, forming two rows of spiked racks. The Super mega cross his arms arms, looking down at the Rookie. This was hardly fair, but luckily he didn't care enough to delete the Agumon. Yet.

After several minutes of walking, the little female Gomamon was starting to get a bit tired. She had been walking almost non-stop for days. She just had her old friends still on her mind. All this time, she had been wondering what they all were doing now. Well, as long as they’re safe and sound wherever they are, she’ll be happy. In her thoughts, she barely noticed she was about to run into a small stream. She snapped back out of it and stopped just in time. She looked down at the nice, sparking, blue water and nearly squealed. She had been a bit parched. She reached her front flippers into the water and scooped up the water, taking a sip. It tasted so delicious to her. Nothing seems to beat natural spring water from a stream.
As she was taking more sips from the stream, she was wondering where she would go next. Besides the shiny blue rock that she found, there really wasn’t much else in this canyon. She was a bit disappointed that wasn’t any much here, but at least it wasn’t a total lost. She could go back to the city and find someone to make a necklace out of the blue rock. She can strut around and show off her pretty necklace to everyone. She giggled to herself happily with that thought.
After she got her fill of water, she was ready to take off again. To the city she goes. But before she started to move, she heard an incredibly loud noise coming from behind her. It sounded like some large metal object fell from the sky. What in the world could that be? She couldn’t resist her curious nature, so she hopped over to the direction of the sound. She didn’t get too far before she found a round metal object lying on the ground. She could also see two digimon, one that she never seen before and a darker looking Agumon that seems strangely familiar. They both look really scary. She definitely doesn’t want either of them to see her. She quickly hid behind a rock, waiting for the both of them to leave so she can leave the canyon safely.

This just wasn’t the Hakase’s day. First, just before he was close to having the power for total world conquest, his stupid transport bot dropped the valuable DigiSoul Rock. Then, he realized that his annoying Gomamon nemesis has it and is doing who knows what to it. As he kept a good grip of his floating transport bot, he couldn’t help but growl and snarl. He even slammed the top of the bot in angry. The poor droid was taking a lot of abuse. The dark Agumon was keeping his eyes on the ground for any sign of the Gomamon, but with no success.
Suddenly, the bot started wobbling a bit. The Hakase hit it harder to keep it afloat. He didn’t understand why it was struggling to float. He remembered to change the battery before he left the Dark Area. Then, almost like an instant, the bot started to fall down from the sky. Agumon was holding on for dear life as his creations was quickly descending hundreds of feet to the ground. A large crash can be heard, with the bot smashed into pieces and Hakase being knocked off a few feet. He managed to survived, but with quite a few scratches and bruises.
As he tried to get up, he realized why his bot fell down from the sky. It seems like the gravity has increased and it was quite difficult for him to get on his feet. It looks like it was slowly getting back to normal, but he was still a bit sore. Suddenly, a rather large digimon appeared in front of him. Clearly he was responsible for changing the gravity and brought down his transport, destroying it. How dare this fool mock him and destroy his transport bot. Granted, he was most likely going to destroy it anyway, but still. He glared over at the digimon, snarling and pointing his bat rod at him.
“What is the meaning of this? Do you have any idea who I am? I am the Great NiseAgumon Hakase, future ruler of the Digital World!”
He could feel his spine tingling a bit. He had a feeling that this digimon was a lot stronger than he looks. It didn’t matter to the Hakase though. His anger was much stronger.

Giygas raised his head a bit, biting his lip in a grimace that seemed to reflect the amount of fucks he gave. As a hint for the reader- they were the same as the number of living relatives he had. Obviously the Agumon knock off had no concept of self preservation. Wait a second. The Vandermon narrowed his single eye. Agumon Hakase Digimon were a rip off of the regular Agumon species. This one was a rip off of those. The researcher blinked. "Holy shit ze elusive double knock off. Yggdrasil sure is a lazy fucker." Thought Giygas.
"Never heard of you." Giygas would say, starching a wicked grin across his face as his royal eye began to glow. "Ze ruler of ze Digital World you say? P-please don't violate me too hard, senpai." The construct would mock, crossing his arms. He could flick the guy and kill him. Well, the electricity circling around his body would not the flick. Obviously he couldn't do that, maybe. What was he, some kind of jock?
"Listen here crabby-patty." The Vandermon wouldn't kill that guy just yet. "Although you're probably a piece of shit, I von't kill you because you're a man of... ugh... science... like... ugh... me." A quick shrug to emphasize his point. "I always viewed people who focused on zeir physical strength to be... vell downright retarded. Just like gym instructors really." At this point Giygas would crouch to be on eye level with the Rookie. "I assume ze low qualification requirements of fitness trainers means zat zere is an over supply of zese buffed but essentially otherwise purposeless professionals. I once knew a Minotarumon back in mein lame days. He couldn't talk very vell and collected sticks, he used to call our leader 'mum'. I vould give him bits to dance, zen sell him sticks to get mein bits backs. He went on to become a fitness instructor so I view gyms as kind of like those factories zat provide a community service by employing people vith down syndrome to lick stamps and pack boxes. Except with more Spandex obviously. Zehaha!" That was a long and mostly pointless rant, but it managed to put the mechanized chimera in a good mood, something the Hakase would find to be life saving.
"Anyvay. Empty threads aside, vat is zat you vant here?" He'd ask, staring up slowly as his elbow blades extended in a flash. "I'm vaiting!"He'd bark, shooting him a quick glare before he would reassume his wide grin.

Elly was still hiding behind the rock, watching the two evil-looking digimon. It looks like they’re still talking to each other. She wasn’t sure if they were going to leave anytime soon. If she stayed here, one of them would find her here. She didn’t even want to think about what would happen if they do. She’s also afraid that if she moved forward, she would get spotted. She just needed to find a way to sneak past them without getting noticed. The Gomamon thought she noticed something and she turned her head a bit to the left. On the face of a cliff, she could see a small hole. It was just big enough for her to go through. That has to be a perfect place to hide from those two. Elly took a deep breath and carefully sneak over to the hole, doing her best to not make any noise. She soon made it inside the hole. It was a bit of a squeeze, but she made it through. She kept moving through the hole, getting deeper and deeper. She was wondering when it was going to end. Eventually, she can see a light and push her way forward. On the other side, she was back outside, right from where she came inside the canyon. The seal digimon sighed with relief. She was glad that she made it out of that situation. Since it was too dangerous to go back into the canyon, she had to decide where to go next. She took out the blue rock from her bag and gazed at it. Now she knows where to go. She was going to the city and has this made into a necklace. She smiled and giggled happily, making her way to the city.

The Hakase’s eyes were still glaring at Giygas’s, his anger still sizzling. All this freakish digimon has done was mocking and rudely insulting him. Even worse, he was telling him a rather pointless and stupid story. How dare this fool disrespect the future ruler of the Digital World like this? Soon, his anger started to subside a bit as he was grasping his situation. Just feeling the aura around this digimon, he must be mega level or stronger. If he doesn’t watch what he say, this digimon could end him in an instant, and he couldn’t have that. He had so many things that he still needed to do, and dying wasn’t one of them. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, but he would have hold back his tongue for now (also appreciating that he would let him live).
The digimon started to ask what he was doing in the canyon, or most likely threating him. The Hakase couldn’t reveal this true purpose. It was enough that he still had to find that Gomamon, but he didn’t want to have a rival trying to activate the DigiSoul Rock’s lost powers. Although, he couldn’t really see this freak as a “man of science”. Then again, the way he can manipulate gravity was impressive. He might have to steal that idea later. Still, The Hakase would have to tell him something. The longer he waste time talking with this buffoon, the farther away the Gomamon and the stone would be. The Agumon started pacing back and forth in front of Giygas, putting his rod behind and keeping his composure. He finds that this helps him clear his thoughts and calms him down, which was very important to help him get out of this mess.
“Weell…If you must know. I’m only here purely for research. I believe that there is something valuable in somewhere in this canyon. I, myself, haven’t confirmed it just yet.”

Giygas paused for a moment, his single eye blinking as a grin crept across his face. After a minute or so of awkward silence the chimera burst into a fit of laughter, not even bothering to acknowledge the Digimon in front of him. This would go on for a nerve shattering amount of time with no signs of it ending any time soon.
"Nye-hehehe...haaa... ok... I zink I'm... pffftttfZEHAHAHAHAA!" Nope. The Vandermon was still at it. "Ok, ok. I'm done. Sorry, but... pfft.." Giygas gently pushed his under jaw up to stop his laughing fit once more. "You? Doing research? Here? You vestigial moron. Enough vith your silly poppycock. I have mapped zis entire area already. Zere is nozing of value here. Nozing a God like me vould regard useful at least." The researcher would shoot a look of disgust at the Rookie for a moment, asserting his superiority before tapping the device that was fixed deep into his chest, the monitor coming to life to display a rather cartoonist looking heart. "Zis ist ze greatest treasure here currently." He'd mock. It wasn't a lie either. The core held enough power to potentially destroy everything in a rather wide radius if detonated. It's energies fed the mechanized chimera's weapons and armour.
"I feel sorry for you, kinder. BUT! I am a generous king. I look after my, how do you say, subjects." Giygas shrugged. "Go on. Ask about your research. Any question at all and I VILL answer. I vill show you the true power one can achieve vith science." The royal eye took a bright red glow as the Vandermon's grin stretched at an odd length across his muzzle. His body made an odd clicking sound as his elbow blades adjusted, cracking with electricity a bit more intensely. He always assumed a creepy attire when talking about science. According to Otto this was Giygas's fetish. Giygas never denied this fact.

To say that this digimon was getting on the great Hakase’s nerves was a very large understatement. All this annoying fool has done was laugh, mock, and telling him ridiculous nonsense. It was starting to get old real fast. He was even having a laughing fit, just because the evil Agumon thought there was something out here in this god-forsaken canyon. He knew full well there wasn’t anything special out here. Even though he was only throwing him off his trail of discovering his stone, he still didn’t appreciate being laughed off like that. He kept bending his rod in frustration, clenching his teeth to try to control his anger. If this freak kept up his remarks and laugher, he would explode on him without fearing for his life.
The Hakase couldn’t help raise a brow as he saw Giygas tapped something on his chest as a picture of heart appeared on a monitor, claiming that this was actually the greatest treasure that can be found in the canyon. Looking at it, it appears to be this digimon’s power source. He scoffed a bit. The power that he was going to get from the DigiSoul rock would be much more valuable. The power from one Super Mega would never compare to hundreds of them. Of course, it was only just a theory that he was trying to test, but it’s a strong theory.
Then this fool was even arrogant enough to offer to answer questions. What kind of simpleton does he take him for? NiseAgumon Hakase was the most intelligent digimon in the entire world. There wasn’t anything that he doesn’t know about or figure out for himself. ...But there was one thing that annoyed him. He can’t stand the fact that, on the rare chance, there was something that he didn’t know. There was a certain complexity about that Vandermon’s power source he just couldn’t figure out. Since this buffoon offered, he might as take the time to ask about it. But he would have to be subtle about it.
The Hakase turned his back at him and crossed his arms, glaring over at him. “Hmph, laugh while you can. You’ll soon see what I’m capable of.” To the Mega, it might sound like an empty threat, but once he finally got his hands on stone, he would truly be a threat. “Heh, but about that ‘treasure’…How exactly does it work. Just a slight curiosity, mind you.”

The Vandermon grinned widely. So the poorly constructed character in front of him wished to know the secrets behind his core. Suddenly the researcher found himself pausing. That thing was constructed by extracting bits and pieces of Alastor's core and building up on his work. It was essentially a reversed Digimon core. How would he even explain something that's not possible to exist? True, this body of his did bend the rules quite a bit, but perhaps if he spoke really slow and loud he would get his message across. It would be like a crippled child trying to hit a match with arrow that's 10 miles away, but obviously he had nothing better to do with his life other than type this.
"Vell, I vill try mein best to explain ze complexity of ze core. Basically, zink of ligh for a moment. Ze speed of light. It's naturally very fast..blitz... but it is only as fast as ze universe allows it to. So in a sense ve aren't measuring ze speed of light but ze speed it is allowed to move." Giygas paused to ponder for a bit. "Digimon are kind of ze same. Zere are rules on our power. No one may be stronker zan a super mega. Vell... ze core alone is enough to achieve it, but it is ze key to removing zat limit. Zink of a if creating a cheat field. Ven inside I can do zings no other can." With that he would suddenly vanish and reappear at some distance forward of his original position, much like he appeared the first time.
"An example is bending ze laws of space. Ze grvity you exprienced earlier is an example. Of course, not everyone can wield zis kind of power. You see, mein body is not something zat came naturally. I created zis vessel, as vell as modified my allies, so ve could harness unmatched power. Of course... zere is something else to zis body." Giygas would crack a rather sinister smile. "Immortality is also something I have achived by corrupting mein core. Vell, not me, but I vas the one who perfected it."[/font]With that the Vandermon would vanish and reappear once more, this time near the Rookie.
"Now zen. I vould love to explain to you about how my swort vorks, but science lesson is over. It's time for you to get the fuck out of here." Giygas would snarled, crossing his arms as his wide grin remained frozen.

The Hakaze was listening intently to this freakish digimon's explanation about his core. From that, it sounds truly amazing and that he has done a lot of work on the core and the research around it. He could do with the random teleporting. If the Agumon wasn't so annoyed at him, he would be marginally impressed. Though, he already understood most of the complexity with it...or maybe just a little bit. He was still convinced that the Digisoul Rock would be much more powerful.
He was relieved that Giygas has stopped speaking and asked him ever so politely to leave, which he would take the pleasure to do just that. He grunted a bit turned his back to the digimon, taking a few steps. Then he turned back and pointed at him with his bat rod.
"Hmph. I'll gladly take my leave, but know this. I WILL have the power to rule this world. As long as you don't get in way, we won't have a problem. Now if you excuse me. I have some pressing matters to attend to."
The Hakase turned back again, flicking his black robe behind him as he unfortunately has to leave the canyon on off. He ran off, taking good look at his smashed carrying droid on the ground. Next time, he would have to work harder on the next bot's AI more. Now because of that fool's rambling, the Gomamon has gained so much distance away from him. He was determined now more than ever to find her and get back the stone. It was the key finally accomplish his goal for world conquest.
