Tasha was in her room, sleeping on her bed after a hard day of unpacking. She and her family just arrived in Shibuya three days ago, and all they did was unpack their things. She didn't get a chance to go out and started shopping, one of her most favorite of activites. Still, she was glad that she gets to sleep for the day. Things have been busy for everyone. Tasha's dad went over to his new job and get himself settled there. Her mother had been decorating the house with the help of her 12 year old brother, Johnathan. Fortunatly for her, she doesn't have to do to much. She pretty much decorated her room. That was definatly enough for her. She could hardly wait to officially start her life in Japan.
The next morning, Johnathan came into Tasha's room, holding a pair of clothes. He was already dressed in his school uniform. He was tasked to wake up Tasha for school, which wasn't an easy feat. He stopped next her bed, seeing her sleeping soundling. He was looking over her, trying to find the best way to wake her up. He knew that she was a light sleeper and had to be woken up gently. He just shrugged and grabbed her arm, yanking her out of bed. Tasha fall down hard on the floor, surprising her awake. Fabergasted, she looked up at Johnny, seeing his smiling at her.
"Ohayo Gozaimasu, Tasha." said Johnny.
Tasha shook her head a bit and got up from the floor. She rubbed her sore head and looked at him like he was speaking some alien language.
"...Huh?" said Tasha.
All of that definatly confirmed Johnny's supisions. He shook his head a bit.
"Man, I knew it. You didn't study up on Japanese like Dad told us too." said Johnny
"Yeah I did." interject Tasha.
Johnny shook his head again and crossed his arms. It was time to give his older sister a little test.
"Saikin dou desuka?" asked Johnny.
Tasha was scratching her head. She really think she knows this one...even though she has no idea what he just said. It was time to do what Tasha does best when she is given a problem like this. Just guess. She clapped her hand and pointed at him, smiling.
"Eggs..." said Tasha, so sure that she got the question right.
Johnny just gave her a rather strange and confused look. Tasha didn't like that all. She looked down and scratched her head.
"Ya'll did ask me what I wanted for breakfast, right?" she asked meekly.
Johnny smirked and gave his sister a pat on the shoulder.
"Not even close." he said, walking off.
Tasha quicky grabbed Johnny's arms. She did not want her dad to know that she wasn't listening to him. She was have to do something to keep him quiet, that doesn't involve killing him, of course.
"Okay okay...Don't tell Dad. I'll do your chores for a whole month." said Tasha.
Johnny was liking what he was hearing. he turned around and crossed his arms.
"Alright...Make it a year and we have a deal." said Johnny.
"3 months."
"6 months."
Tasha growled a bit. "...Fine..." said Tasha. She turned and noticed a pair of clothes in his hand. She pointed at them.
"What's that?" asked Tasha.
Johnny placed the clothes on her chair. "Your uniform. You're suppose to wear it for school." he said.
Tasha was very surpised to hear this. She looked over at him.
"Uniforms? Since when did we have to wear uniforms?" asked Tasha.
"I see that you didn't listen to that part, either. Just get downstairs" said Johnny.
He was walking out of her room, shaking his head out of disbelief. The uniform was still processing in Tasha's mind. Out of anger, she opened the door and popped her head out of her room.
"YA'LL BETTER STAY OUT OF MY ROOM, JOHNNY!" shouted Tasha.
Tasha went back into her room, distroted. She grabbed the uniform and sat down on her bed. She gave out a heavy sigh. She won't be able to wear the clothes she bought before coming here. Not in school, anyway. Tasha looked over the uniform again. It just looks so boring. She didn't understand why Japanese kids have to dress like this. She shook her head and quickly started to get dressed. Once she got the uniform on, she left her room and went downstairs, not looking forward to her first day of school.
Once her door was closed, something amazing happened. Tasha's computer started to turn on by itself. A bright light came out of the screen and slowly started to fade away, leaving behind a strange-looking device and a large egg.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hours have passed and Tasha finally arrived back home. She immedently into over to her room. She had a really hard day at school. She had no idea what her classmates and teachers are saying. She had to use her Japanese-To-English just to barely catch the gist of the conversations. At least she can go home and relax for the day. Before she could take off her school uniform, she noticed some objects on her desk that wasn't there before. She picked up the red D-3.
"...What is this thing" she asked herself.
It must have been Johnny. He must have been snooping around her room again, leaving behind his toys. She opened the door and popped her out of her room.
"JOHNNY! I TOLD YOU TO STAY OUT OF MY ROOM!" she shouted.
Tasha came back inside and took another look at the D-3. She shook her head a bit.
"Keep leaving his toys here, you go to be kidding...Hmm. It does look kinda cute, though." she said.
Tasha looked at on of the buttons for the device. She shrugged and pressed it. Suddenly, the screen started to flash and a bright light started coming out of it.
"What the...What's going on?!" Tasha exclaimed.
The egg on the desk started to shake. After bouncing for a bit, the egg started to crack. Tasha could only watch in horror as her egg slowly started to hatch. She has no idea what could be inside that egg, freaking her out that pushing that button on her D-3 would cause this to happen. The egg soon fell apart, revealing a small, bearded creature. Tasha could hardly believe what she seeing. What this thing a real, living creature? She touched it with her finger, causing it to giggle a bit. It really is real.
"What is..."
Tasha heard a loud knock at the door. She sprang up and looked over at it as a deep male voice was talking.
"Tasha. Honey, it's Dad. Can I come?"
Tasha panicked a bit and grabbed the creature.
"Just a second, Dad." said Tasha.
Tasha looked around for possible place to hide this creature. She looked over at the closet and smiled. She opened it and placed it gently inside. She sighed a bit and closed the door.
"Okay. You can come in now." she said.
Her father opened the door and came inside her room.
"Well, hey there. You ran inside so fast, I didn't chance to talk to you." he said.
He sat down on her bed, Tasha joining him. Her father gave her a warm smile.
"So how was your first day at school?" he asked.
Tasha shrugged. "It was okay."
Her father stroked the top of his bald head. "Look. I know it's hard living in a different country and different culture, but you'll soon adjust to it. Who knows...Maybe you can meet a new friend here." he said.
Tasha smiled. "Yeah...I think you're right."
Her father patted Tasha's shoulder and got back up.
"Alright. Dinner is going be ready in a hour." He said.
He was just about to walk out of the room, when suddenly there a bright light coming from her closet. He looked over at her.
"What was that light?" he asked her.
Tasha had to think of something to say about this. "Umm...I think one of the lights blew out. I'll replace it, you go help Mom make dinner, okay?" said Tasha.
Her father shook his head a bit and walked out of the room. Tasha looked over at the closet, wondering what had happened. She opened the closet, noticing that the strange creature was gone. She jumped when she noticed a different creature was inside. It seemed to be looking at one of her fasion magazines. The creature looked up at her, smiling.
"I really like her. She looks pretty. " said the creature, revealing that it has a female voice. She pointed at the name above the picture. "I like her name too. Pedra..."
Tasha just stood there. She didn't really know how to react to this. After taking all this in for a second, she reach down and grabbed the magazine.
"You don't look through other people's stuff. What wrong with you?" she said.
She sighed and sat down on her bed, still very confused. She looked over at the creature.
"What exactly are you, anyway?" Tasha asked.
"I'm a digimon. A Tanemon, to be exact." she said, hopping on Tahsa's lap. "Hey. What's wrong?" she asked.
"Sorry...I'm just keep thinking that all this isn't real." said Tasha.
"And yet. I'm still here, talking to you." said the Tanemon.
She turned her head and saw the vase of flowers on Tasha's desk. Her eyes lit up and she hopped on top of the desk. She was looking over at the flowers.
"These are really nice looking flowers. That water inside of this thing is really tasty to them." said Tanemon.
Tasha just stared at the digimon. Could this creature really be hers? All of this just seems so suddenly. Still, this digimon needs someone to care of her. She does look really adorable. All that she needed was a name. Tasha just thought up the perfect one.
"How about I call you Pedra? You like that?" asked Tasha.
"Pedra...I really like that sound of it. Okay. You can call me Pedra then." she said. She turned her attention to the flowers and hummed to them, knowing that they really like it.
Tasha saw all of this and shook her head.
"Man. There better not be more people having Digimon. If so, then this is one messed up country." said Tasha, enjoying Pedra talking to her flowers.
