Round 3 L. Bracket - Lion and Worm King [Ban vs. Dante]
|
Post by Dante on Nov 4, 2018 0:54:44 GMT
Archnemon waits to see if her threads hit their target. Ban comes flying out of the whirlwind, hovering in midair. The Spider Queen squints one eye and raises an eyebrow in a startled gaze. Dante tilts his head up and strokes his chin. Ban seems to be a veteran fighter, but he isn't using many attacks. Dante questions if Ban has some secret technique or plan to turn the tides.
"Archnemon, stay on guard. You are fighting an experienced warrior. Don't hold back." "Yaaaahaaargh… What do ya think I've been doing? Rrrraaah I'm large and in charge. Why don't you stick to what you know best? Smoking cigarettes, skipping class, and watching Daria all day? Ahh haaaaaa ha ha ha haaaaaaa!!!" "Irritating bug... I'm also good at running and drinking, big butt."
Ban turns his attention towards Archnemon's lackey. Dokugumon is taken down to about half health, but as Ban ascends back into the sky, Dokugumon fires a large blast of webbing, attempting to get Ban stuck in Archnemon's net. Archnemon leaps off her web and attempts to pounce on Ban, aiming to sink her fangs into Ban's neck with her Venom Bite Technique.
The crowd gasps as Archnemon heads towards Ban. Dante knows right away what Wormy is going for. If the Spider Queen injects her venom into Ban, it would decrease his vision. Dante can only hope that this strategy will work, as if Archnemon moves into close range and misses, it would open her up to a close range counterattack. Dokugumon might not last much longer, but her webbing should be strong enough to stall Ban long enough for Archnemon to strike.
The crowd has been hyped from the start. After all these rounds, they have started to get rowdier. However, one fan is only just now making her way to her seat. A woman with long bleach blonde hair wearing a dirty white tank top and tight jean shorts stretched over an increasingly large tush makes her way down the stairs holding an overpriced beer and a hot dog. She raises the hot dog to her mouth and holds the tray in her teeth to free up a hand. She reaches down and lowers the seat, carefully balancing her beer and her hot dog. The woman sits down and spreads her legs, letting out a long sigh followed by a burp once she took the hot dog out of her mouth.
The woman takes a huge gulp of her beer and a savage bite from her hot dog, chewing loudly. The Digimon sitting in front of her turns around. The woman looks down and sees Piedmon's snotty face.
"Hey, you look kind of familiar. Did you audition for my adaptation of Furries on Ice 2?" "Dear god, there's a two?! Sod off, Piedmon!"
The woman stomps on Piedmon's face. Blood drips out of his nose.
"Oww! Stupid bitch! I'm bleeding! Where's my damn handkerchief? Piddomon, fetch me a napkin! Piddomon?"
Piddomon is distracted talking and giggling with some teen girls.
"...and so I said, Oh, last year's fashion. It must be retro night."
The girls giggle and snicker. Piedmon taps Piddomon on the wing. Piddomon turns and looks at the frustrated jester.
"Piddomon! Stop fooling around and fetch me a napkin. I'm trying to watch the fight." "Oh, I'm so sorry Lord Piedmon! Please stand up so I can get out." *Grumbles*
Piedmon gets up so Piddomon can squeeze by. The woman sitting behind is annoyed.
"Hey clown, you're blocking my view!" "Shut up, drunk whore!"
The woman shoves her hot dog in Piedmon's face.
"That's it! I'm going to do to you what your barber did to your hair." "Oh snap!" _____________________

It seemed as though their teamwork was almost nonexistent, as Archnemon seemed to ignore her trainer's commands as they fought. That was good, that means his opponent was temperamental and reckless, with a heaping helping of arrogance as well. This was disappointing, to Ban, but his attention was captured by the Dokugumon surviving his attack, and launching it's webbing attack at him. "they're persistent, but a creature without a will cannot hope to best me." He thought, as he reared back his storm blade, launching the remaining air around his blade across his body, scattering the champion's webbing attack, and aimed to send the remaining strands back to their creator.
It was then he noticed his actual quarry leaping towards him, baring her fangs. He hadn't expected these two factors: first, he didn't think Archnemon could leap so high, and second: he didn't think they'd be so reckless as to leap straight into his ideal fighting area. His blade had already been launched away, and he was off balance from attacking and dispelling the attack of his foe's servant. With no other means to defend himself, he leaned back, bringing up his left arm to defend from the bite attack. The turbines on his arm was stopped as her fangs slipped between the blades, hitting his arm directly. He grit his teeth, those fangs were quite sharp, but... "This is nothing!" he roared, throwing his arm aside, aiming to dislodge her from his arm, before his legs performed the splits mid-air, before a clicking noise emerged from his hips.
His entire lower body started rotating, and a moment later, the circle formed from his feet flew forward, aiming to slam into his airborne foe, with no means of mobility. His consecutive kicks aimed to strike her repeatedly, as he descended with her, before he finished it with a final stomp, aiming to launch her and her lackey straight downwards, perhaps straight into their own web, using that same stomp to leap off of her, and flip backwards, landing back in the original 40% of the arena, as his temporary flight earned it's title as "temporary" and he was unable to continue doing so. As he refocused his attention on his foe, he noticed something, his sight was swimming, odd, considering his eyes were enhanced by cybernetics. He brought his hand to his face, and muttered, "poison, huh...?" he muttered, begrudgingly. He could only hope he managed some form of meaningful damage through his counterattack.
Active Passives: Steel Gaze (Enhancements to eyes improve accuracy of attacks as well as tracking capability even on swifter foes)
Ability Used: Cyclone Kicks (Rotates entire lower body in order to deliver several consecutive roundhouse kicks)
Durations: Rotating Rush:2/2 Storm Beast Sword 3/3
Cooldowns: Cyclone Kicks: 0/2 posts Rotating Rush: 0/3+2/2 Storm Beast Sword: 0/3 +3/3 duration
Summary: Ban utilized the remaining power of his Storm Beast sword to swipe aside Dokugumon's webbing ability, he took the Venom bite in his left arm, but countered with his Cyclone Kicks, aiming to slam Archnemon into Dokugumon below, hopefully catching them in their own webbings. Ban then returned to the non-webbed part of the arena, as the venom set in.

This battle was escalating quickly. As Dokugumon fires her webbing at Ban, the Ultimate level slashes them apart. Archnemon leaps towards Ban, attempting to bite his neck with her poison fangs. Ban guards against the attack, and her fangs pierce his arm. While not a direct hit, it would seem that the venom worked its way into Ban’s body. Ban attacks with a series of kicks at close range, landing a few blows.
With Ban at close range, Archnemon unleashes a Spider Bomb from her abdomen. As Ban is falling away from Archnemon, the bomb goes off and appears to engulf all three Digimon. If Dokugumon had any life left, that was gone now, as the spider lackey disintegrates in the explosion. Archnemon is sent flying back from the force of her own bomb, taking a direct hit from the powerful attack, but takes less damage due to her tough outer shell. Whatever webs were in the vicinity of the explosion are destroyed, leaving Archnemon's web heavily damaged, but still strong in some spots.
Dante's eyes widen. Not only is Archnemon playing to the beat of her own drum, she just used her most destructive attack at close range and got caught in the blast. Was it worth it to scold the Spider Queen? Dante can hear her annoyed response in his head. Best not to bother. Archnemon crash lands on the ground, slowly rising up on her feet. With Dokugumon out of the picture, the Spider Queen won't be eating her lackey to regenerate this time around. Did her gambit work? Had Ban got caught in the explosion? If this strategy pays off, victory would be coming for the eight legged lover of breasts.
"Ho ya! That hot enough for ya, emo kitty? I can go all night long." "It's daytime." "Shut up, Dante! Go play Yandere Simulator. Go get your Senpai, Dante. He's all yours. Kill that bitch with the purple tornado hair." "Not everyone is as pansexual as you are. Have you ever seen me hit on a guy?" "No, but I've seen you have a long line of failed relationships with women. When are you going to get some sweet tit action? The ladies can't get enough of me, Dante. I'm the King, uh, I mean Queen. The Queen of awesome possums."
Archnemon fondles her breasts and moans. Dante looks irritated.
"Is it too late to become a Spirit User? I'd rather get the crap kicked out of me every time there's a battle rather than listen to you boast." _____________________
Actions: Archnemon uses her Spider Bomb technique, attempting to damage Ban and gets caught in the explosion herself.
Spider Bomb: Creates a large bomb that detonates when Archnemon desires. Sticks to surfaces such as walls. Can be placed directly down from the abdomen, or Archemon can stand on her hind legs and fire it as a projectile. Deals massive damage. 3 post cooldown.

As Ban flipped through the air, after finishing his combo attack, his eyes saw... something, although the poison had already started to kick in by then. A... sphere? His foe released a sphere, and it was not travelling very fast, it wasn't even heading towards him...? That could only mean... He instantly reacted, bringing his fist back. He couldn't take any chances, he had to defend...! As the bomb detonated, Ban threw a punch at what seemed to be an uppercut to an imaginary gut. His fist's turbine spun at a speed unseen before, as Ban's inner fire roared, in response to the massive eruption of power. The strike did seem to hit something, as he slammed his fist towards the explosion.
As he pushed further against this invisible barrier, a bubble of sorts formed around his fist, while sparks of electricity flew in every direction as the force of Ban's spinning strike, while the very fabric of space and time distorted around him. The attacks clashed, the sheer force and magnitude of Archnemon's explosive technique combated with the absurd precision and power behind Ban's fist. This formed a makeshift barrier against the technique, but was no where near enough to stop himself from being thrown back. That being said, his attack had more or less defused the shock-wave, and the only damage he had sustained was some of the fire from the bomb's residue. Ban did feel regretful for his actions, as that technique was the very one he wished to utilize on his foe, but he had just used it, although he felt it was the best choice, as he had taken minimal damage from the bomb as a result.
That being said; Ban felt he had learned many valuable lessons from his foe, more importantly, he wished to show Archnemon something important as he was thrown back at the ground. His form crashed into the sand, (Not hard enough to deal damage to him, as his body was too durable for that sort of impact), and formed a small cloud of sand. After a moment of stillness, Ban stood, staggering on one leg. For the first time, in the match, Ban broke eye contact with his foe, as he staggered forward, towards his opponent, clutching his arm, the one that was bitten. "...Such an attack... is nowhere near enough to take me down..." He muttered, gritting his teeth dramatically.
Active Passives: Steel Gaze (Enhancements to eyes improve accuracy of attacks as well as tracking capability even on swifter foes)
Ability Used: King of Fists (Rotates his fist and strikes with force powerful enough to distort reality,)
Durations: Venom Bite: 1/4
Cooldowns: King of Fists: 0/3 Cyclone Kicks: 1/2 posts Rotating Rush: 1/3 Storm Beast Sword: 1/3
Summary: Ban counters the bomb with his King of Fists technique, punching the explosion so hard he hardly took any damage as a result. However, it seems he was injured much more, as one of his legs look like they're injured.

The Spider Queen was feeling confident, and full of herself as usual. Archnemon's Spider Bomb had a history for big moments in her fights. It seemed as though she had landed a critical hit. However, Ban shielded himself with a blast of his own. The wanderer is sent flying backwards as the energy from his King of Fists attack forms a barrier that shields him from most of the energy from Archnemon's Spider Bomb. Though it seems that Ban's injuries are starting to ware him down.
Dante is disappointed that the Spider Bomb didn't quite get the job done, but he knows it doesn't hit every time. His partner is irritating him so much that Dante tries to remain silent. It goes back to the old, "If you can't say something nice" thing. Anything Dante wanted to say to Archnemon are criticisms and accusations, which would only distract from the fight. No, Dante would call Wormy out on her huge ego another time. The now veteran Tamer takes a deep breath and lets the air out slowly. This is their fight to lose. He doesn't want Archnemon to falter now.
The crowd takes a moment to calm down after the excitement of the giant explosion. Archnemon's fighting style at Ultimate was even starting to win over some detractors that were previously turned off by the Worm King's narcissism. It is clear that Ban is taking some nice hits, but after that last attack, Archnemon is feeling fatigued as well. The Spider Queen pants at a high pitch, and stretches her legs, staying loose.
"YAAAAAAHAAARGH!!! So, you think you are so clever. Using an attack as a barrier against my bomb, eh? Well big deal! I'm still the greatest! You don't look too good there, Ban. What's the matter, getting dizzy? It's always so much fun playing with my prey. Woo hoo ha ha haha ha haaaa!!!"
Feeling confident, Archnemon lays off the offensive this time around. The Spider Queen backs further away from Ban, taking refuge on part of what is left of her web. Dante agrees with this change in tactics. After having just kamikazed Ban with her last move, it's good to see a more cautious and defensive strategy. The question is, how much can Ban take? How can he outlast the Spider Queen at this rate?
Dante thinks back to a Digimon he once knew. Another Leomon he encountered early on when he first became a Tamer. That Leomon would not back down. Exhausted, body slashed to pieces, arm cut off, Leomon kept fighting. From what Dante has seen of Ban so far, he has no reason not to believe that at Ultimate, Ban would be even more unstoppable. This could be another hard hitting battle to the finish. Could Dante bare to put Wormy through that again? _____________________
Actions: Archnemon retreats back to her web, creating distance from Ban.

"Tch." Was the only sound to escape Ban's mouth, as he thought to himself. Even with that absurd self-destructing attack, his opponent had seen both his special attack and might have seen through his facade. In truth, his limping leg was a ruse, his leg had only actually not taken much damage, as it was protected. The actual damage resided in his arm, the one that had been used to dispel the power of the explosion. He could still feel his arm shaking, he had been ill-equipped to counter that attack, and his arm had paid the price. It still functioned, with a bit of grit to ignore the pain, but what was certain was that it might just break if he tried the King of Fists one more time. Which meant he only had one more shot to make it count.
Ban contemplated how the two had more or less placed all their cards on the table, now all that was left was to see who could use the information correctly against one another. Ban also had to still deal with the poison affecting his vision. He could still determine the location of his foe, through his cybernetic parts, but he could hardly make out her shape, let alone follow her movements, at the current distance between the two. That being said, getting close had proved to be a poor choice, as his foe's repertoire of trap-type skills denied him the ability to close the gap safely.
This didn't really bother him, though, as he already had a new plan. His vision being impaired was of little consequence, as long as he switched his methods on their head. Throughout this fight, Ban came to understand both his opponent's combat capabilities, as well as their basic mental state, and this new strategy might work on one so ego-centric. He grit his teeth, pointing his wounded arm, to hide it's injury by acting it was fine. "It is indeed a wise strategy to flee from me. If all of this is a game to you, it explains your half-assed effort." He stated, sternly. He wasn't really focusing too hard on what he said, as anyone can sling around such surface-level insults. However, with his opponent's obsession with their appearance and constant jeering, it was clear they lived in the surface level, challenging them to a verbal battle, his opponent might just be dumb enough to forget the strategic aspect of this fight.
Ban followed up his words by waving his arm, dismissively, "Your reprehensible laughter is the most painful thing you have subjected me to thus far." Ban continued, hating every moment of this pathetic excuse for banter. But, if such mind games could throw off his opponent's defenses, he had no issue in exploiting such a thing. "To be honest, fighting you while you're acting like an abrasive fool is embarrassing us both."
Active Passives: Steel Gaze (Enhancements to eyes improve accuracy of attacks as well as tracking capability even on swifter foes)
Ability Used: N/A
Durations: Venom Bite: 2/4
Cooldowns: King of Fists: 1/3 Cyclone Kicks: 2/2 Rotating Rush: 2/3 Storm Beast Sword: 2/3
Summary: Ban is pretending his leg is injured, while his arm is what's actually damaged, and he stands still, taking his time to insult Wormy, instead of attacking them physically.

Archnemon was feeling pretty good about this fight. Ban had taken a few hits, and most of the damage the Spider Queen had taken was self-inflicted. Ban continues to limp around, acting as if his leg is really injured. What Archnemon doesn't know is that this is a ruse, and it is actually Ban's arm that was injured in the blast. The wanderer uses brains over brawn, battling Archnemon with words. Dante can tell right away that Ban is playing mind games and trying to buy time.
"What would you know anyways? You're in no shape to run your mouth off. Why don't you save yourself the humiliation and just quit already?"
While Archnemon is never one to back down from a verbal joust, she doesn't compromise her defensive position. It would take more than words to throw the huntress off her game. Archnemon knows that the clock is ticking on the effects of her venom. However, she has already used most of her attacks, and needs to recharge before she can launch another Spider Bomb. This creates something of a standstill, with Ban half blind and faking an injury while masking a real one, and an exhausted spider waiting on her web.
(Thinking) "Things are going good. If Ban's leg really is injured, his speed should fall greatly. It's only a matter of time before Archnemon capitalizes."
Dante waits with anticipation. Archnemon has a lot of defensive abilities, but that also meant less offensive moves. Her web won't last much longer. Then, would Archnemon have anywhere left to run? The Spider Queen snarls and starts generating thread. Archnemon launches a burst of Spider Threads towards Ban from above. Would Ban be able to dodge the projectiles while injured and his vision weakened? _____________________

Ban's eyes narrowed. Archnemon was on the move, positioning herself above him, although, this was the extent of what he could gather from his opponent's movements. It was only a matter of time before they launched another attack, so the moment she stopped moving, he decided to respond by pressuring her instantly. This way, he could still defend the truth of his wounds, but as a trade-off, he might simply be literally firing blindly at his opponent, easily seen as a sign of weakness and desperation. Regardless, Ban saw no other option, his other options were limited and he had no other ranged attacks to speak of, for the moment.
He crouched down, momentarily, gritting his teeth through the pain as he spun his turbines once more, literally willing them into their high-velocity rotations, gathering wind around them. "Hurricane Fist!" He roared, launching twin, compact tornadoes from both of his arms, towards his foe. The wires caught in the wind would be torn to shreds, displaying the shearing strength of these gusts, although due to limited area of effect, some of the threads got past, and due to being unable to see them well enough, the small number of threads slashed against his armor, gouging out the metal and inflicting a number of cuts across Ban's mighty body.
Ban yelled a nondescript war-cry, in response to the pain, feeling emboldened, rather than dispirited at the sustained damage. "This is my final warning: half-assed efforts will do nothing to stop me." He repeated, "As it stands, your attacks sting as much as any normal spider, let alone a queen." He stated, flashing a resolute glare at his foe. Ban knew full well the benefits of never showing his weakness in a fight, as the saying goes; a cornered Chuumon is the most dangerous. His arm trembled, for a moment, but he clenched his fist and held it high, like some sort of boxing champion, "You will not make me fall, that I promise you." With that line, the crowd reached a new fervor. In the back of his mind, Ban couldn't help but be embarrassed, what was he doing? He was no performer, yet here he was, putting on a show like a cliche action series.
Active Passives: Steel Gaze (Enhancements to eyes improve accuracy of attacks as well as tracking capability even on swifter foes)
Ability Used: Hurricane Fist (Cross fists while spinning turbines to generate linear, powerful tornadoes that spin against each other at a medium range,)
Durations: Venom Bite: 3/4
Cooldowns: Hurricane Fist 0/2 King of Fists: 2/3 Rotating Rush: 3/3 Storm Beast Sword: 3/3
Summary: Ban attacks with his Hurricane Fist aimed directly at Archnemon above him, blocking some of but not all of the Spider Thread, and he takes some damage from the leftover razor threads, throwing some more words out.

The battles wages on as both sides have been taking it up a notch. As Archnemon's razor threads fly towards Ban, the Ultimate uses his Hurricane Fist technique to knock them away with the wind generated from his turbines. Most of the wires are split and ripped to pieces. Some of them reach Ban and snag in his armor, tearing at his body. Archnemon seems to be quite pleased with herself, as she waves her arms in the air to rile up the crowd.
While Ban tended to be on the receiving end of things, he still belittles Archnemon's attack, insisting that it will take more than that. This enrages the Spider Queen, as she grinds her fangs and sneers down from her web.
"N'yeh! I've had bigger shrimp than you for breakfast. Stop messing around and bring it! I can handle anything you've got. You know I'm the last OG of the Dark Area, and I will be picking your skull out of my teeth by the time this one is all over. So step up to the Queen, baby, and I'll rock this court. The juice is-B'wah!"
Suddenly the webbing around Archnemon starts to give out. He web falls apart, and Archnemon is sent falling to the ground. The Spider Queen crashes hard, laying on her back. Little anime girls wearing skirts and roller blades carrying platters of cheese burgers dance around her head.
"Ohh… this is not good."
Dante is shocked to see his partner caught off guard. Did Archnemon really just drop the ball? It looks like the Spider Queen is vulnerable to an attack. The crowd gasps as Ban has a chance to capitalize. Would the loss of Archnemon's web tilts the odds in Ban's favor? _____________________

Ban had expected this sort of upset, he had been gradually destroying her webbing throughout the match, it could only take so much punishment before giving out. What appalled him was that his opponent did not seem to realize this as well. He had believed his opponent would become careless once they responded to his goading, but to this extent... It was honestly embarrassing. Regardless, this sort of opportunity was almost too good to be true. He crouched down on the ground, his enhanced eyes tracking his opponent's movements, but even his poor vision would be remedied at close range, as his turbines started up, once more.
In an instant, he was hovering mere inches from the ground, and in another, he had crossed the distance between the two, hardly a moment after she would hit the ground. He would pull to a sudden stop, as he stopped by planting one leg on her bulbous lower body, using his arms to grip two of her spindly legs, before planting his feet on the ground and starting to pivot on his feet, spinning her around, and gradually rising into the air, eventually spinning so fast the two turned into smears of color, before he finally released her, tossing her high into the air, with enough circular momentum to keep her spinning as she ascends.
Ban squinted towards the shape as it rapidly shrank in size, before turning to Dante, and tilting his head to one side, cracking it, before he leaped into the air, flying after his target. "Allow me to welcome you to my domain." He stated, clenching his fists. This was it, he was going all out, if this didn't work, he would find himself quite low on stamina, and exactly where the spider would want him. He had to overwhelm them before they could react properly. He was also paying close attention to his foe, waiting for them to make that one final miscalculation against him. As he did this, he did notice his vision seemed to be improving.
Active Passives: Steel Gaze (Enhancements to eyes improve accuracy of attacks as well as tracking capability even on swifter foes)
Ability Used: Rotating Rush (Rotates turbines at ludicrous speeds to allow temporary hovering and enhanced speed by 25%)
Durations: Rotating Rush: 1/2 Venom Bite: 4/4
Cooldowns: Hurricane Fist 1/2 King of Fists: 3/3 Rotating Rush: 0/2+0/3

Archnemon had been in control for most of the fight. However, after an initial onslaught of offense, the Spider Queen found herself cooling down after the bombs and bites. Her web giving out underneath sent Archnemon hurtling towards the ground. Even with his vision impaired, Ban was quick to capitalize. The wanderer dashes towards Archnemon and grabs ahold of two of her legs before she has a chance to avoid the attack. Ban starts spinning around in a circle, and the two Ultimates start to rise off of the ground.
Dante watches on with concern as the Digimon lift higher up in the air. Ban lets go of Archnemon and sends her tumbling into the air. Archnemon attempts to regain coordination, but she is dizzy from all the spinning. Ban turns and taunts Dante, but the Tamer responds with no emotion, watching calmly. Archnemon lands awkwardly on the ring floor, sort of landing on her feet but sloppily. Almost instantly after landing, a green wave of energy appears around Archnemon.
"Wuhuha haha ha haaa! That barely hurt, ya know?! It's going to take more than your flippy spiny shtick to bring down the mighty Spider Queen! And now that I've got my barrier up, your attacks are useless. My arsenal is ready to go, so you better run while you can!"
A small smile stretches across Dante's face, a smile of relief. Archnemon took some damage from that attack, but with Archnemon's Insect Barrier activated, this shielded the already highly defensive spider. The barrier remains around Archnemon, so even if she moves she will be covered. One thing they learned from their last battle is to be more careful while inside the barrier, so it is unlikely that Archnemon will make that mistake again. There are no tunnels this time.
Archnemon stretches her neck out and raises her arms to the sides, as if to say "Come at me bro." Which is somewhat ironic, considering her barrier is protecting her. The Spider Queen snickers and giggles at the wounded warrior. Dante keeps a close eye on Ban, attempting to more accurately read his status. The fans who saw Wormy's last battle know just how resilient the barrier is, and wait with anticipation to see if the wounded Ban can overcome the odds. _____________________
Actions: Archnemon is launched into the air and takes damage upon impact, but then activates her Insect Barrier.
Insect Barrier: Creates a large barrier around Archnemon. Only bug type Digimon and Bug type attacks may enter the barrier. Lasts 4 posts. 3 post cooldown.

"Tch." Ban muttered, as his opponent generated a barrier around herself, as his vision finally cleared. He had no clue how durable that thing was, and if she had waited this long to use it, it must be some sort of trump card. That being said, he couldn't let up on his pressure, if his opponent got too much time to set up, he would lose the initiative and be caught in another war of inches. There was no way he could afford that eventuality. After taking a breath, he yelled at his opponent, flying straight to the ground in front of Archnemon's barrier, slamming his open hands on either side of the barrier.
As expected, it gave no ground to his grip, and he confirmed the barrier's rough estimate on durability. With a mighty roar of "I refuse!", he attempted to lift the barrier off the ground, along with Archnemon. If he were to succeed with this, he would lean further back, before releasing the sphere and drop-kicking it into the air, using his left leg, the one he hadn't been lying about being injured. He then leaped after the ball, rotating his lower body, deciding there and then; to hell with pretending his legs were injured. He would kick the ball consecutively, forcing the sphere higher and higher, while making it spin in the air. With a final kick, he finished launching the ball above the very stadium, easily twice as high as before.
He refused to stop there, and forced himself to fly after the ball, flipping mid-air, as his boost ended, and he landed on the top of the sphere, being carried along with Archnemon, stopping the rotation of the sphere with his feet. "Are you familiar with the creature of the human world, known as a seagull?" He asked, seemingly out of nowhere. "If so, are you familiar with how they deal with hard-shelled prey? Observe." he stated, staring at the ground underneath the two.
He then jumped, slightly, creating a difference in height between the two, flattening his body to separate from the sphere even more. "I couldn't help but notice you were standing on the ground when you activated that ability. That means it permits the earth where you stand to pass through. Nothing will save you from this impact." He remarked, rearing his fist back. "I'm going to insure that." He finished, simply. Talking down to them like this could provoke them further, and a mistake at this point would, in all likelihood, finish the fight there and then.

Archenmon is so sure of herself. There is no way in her mind that Ban can penetrate the barrier. Even though Ban has his vision back, the Spider Queen is feeling cocky. Ban goes up to the barrier and starts pounding on it. Archnemon makes rude faces and taunts Ban.
"Na na, na na na! You can't touch me. I am the greatest of all time! I shall win the *whispers* 'loser's' bracket. Wha ha haha ha haaaa! Spider Queen ftw!"
Then, to everyone's surprise, Ban manages to lift up the barrier. Archnemon sinks down to the bottom of the sphere, taken aback.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing? Put me down so I can blow you up."
Dante watches on in shock as Ban kicks the ball high into the air. The crowd gasps as Archnemon goes from zero to one hundred feet above the ring floor. The Spider Queen panics as she gazes down below. The sphere starts to plummet back down to the ground. The audience tilt their heads forward in unison as Archnemon crash lands onto the ring floor, damaging the ring around her. The barrier shatters upon impact, and Archnemon absorbs the full effect of the collision.
The crowd gasps in astonishment as Aerchnemon lets out an agonizing cry. Her body was so heavily damaged by the initial impact that she is too damaged to maintain her Ultimate form for now. Archnemon's body starts fading away into webs and data, leaving behind an injured Wormmon laying in a sticky mess of webbing and fragments of the barrier. If Ban wishes, he could easily take out his opponent. Dante is too stunned to do anything. Should he call it off now, or wait and see if Wormy's energy bounces back. The dastardly duo went from using their ace in the hole ability to down for the count.

Ban fell the earth, just above his disoriented prey. How ironic it was, their barrier being what trapped them. As his foe's focus shattered, from the impact, their barrier followed suite. Ban's piercing eye glinted, forming a trail through the air, as he aimed his body in a downwards position, aiming his fist to strike true, aiming to finish the fight with this next attack. His eyes widened, as he noticed his foe's form fading fast. He realized exactly what state his foe was in a moment before impact. A sickening "Crack!" Could be heard throughout the stadium, as another cloud of dust was kicked up as a result of the impact.
The stadium fell silent, as the dust cleared, revealing Ban hunched over Wormmon's injured form, his fist buried into the ground next to his target. He had missed, on purpose, as with his velocity, he might have dealt mortal damage to the unguarded rookie level. He stood, reaching with his other arm to gently scoop up his opponent, his other arm hanging limply to his side. As it turned out, his arm was the source of the crunching noise before, as it;s metal surface was riddled with cracks and was twisted in an awkward position, clearly broken. As it turned out, Ban had overestimated his own durability, and his arm had been more damaged than he thought.
Ban attempted moving his arm, no such luck, his arm disobeyed him and instead gave him a fresh surge of pain. "..." Ban had wished to win this battle handily, in order to impart a lesson onto Wormmon about the necessity of teamwork and the futility of taking the time to insult his foe, but he couldn't help but feel he narrowly won this bout, despite not having taken all that much damage. His reckless and bold fighting style almost completely fell prey to his foe's traps and defensive strategies.
He stood, and walked over towards the digimon's human partner, crouching down and offering the wounded creature to their partner. "They fought well. They could have easily bested me, had I not been on-guard." He admitted. He had wished to impart some sort of wisdom onto the two, but he felt that Dante had already figured that sort of thing out, this fight had, in all likelihood, already ingrained the idea into the two for how their dynamic could use some work. No real words were needed.

Ability Used: N/A
Cooldowns: Cyclone Kicks: 1/2 posts Rotating Rush: 1/3+2/2 Storm Beast Sword: 1/3 +3/3 duration
Summary: Ban avoided a finishing blow from above, at the last second, fearful he would deal too severe damage to his degenerated foe. He broke his arm in the process. After, he picked up Wormmon to return them to Dante.
