WHO'S THE BOSS?
I AM.
( tag: none ) Being an inn owner working on base wasn’t that much of a lavish life for Boss, this much he knew. The Ryudamon always had something going on; from making patrons happy and having to deal with unruly ones by kicking them out and keeping their money, to minor things like wiring or even miscommunication issues because the idiots working the place gave wrong information. He knew that starting up a new business in Terminus would be difficult, but he didn’t think it’d be boring, too. All these situations tended to happen once or twice within a week. The other days would see maybe an influx of Digimon wanting a cheap place to stay, or some with barely any bits to their name.
But today was a fun day. With property in Terminus, Boss put his proverbial ear to the ground to figure out any rumblings that occurred around his hard-earned property. If there was going to be a fight? He broke it before it even started. Pick pocketer? Made sure he’s never seen in his area again. Intimidation came a long way in dealing with the less than stellar populace, but he loved the small chances he had to do it. Today, he had the joy of dealing with a couple ruffians that the city itself couldn’t deal with. They had a habit of starting fights because they were in a rival group that inhabited the ruins of old Terminus, and it was bleeding over the location where the Inn was. No one would want to stay near that type of idiocy.
And so, Boss, currently in his sharpest outfit as Dentoryumon, adjusted his cap, then cracked his knuckles. He’d come here to knock some heads, but the culprits were just a bunch of child Digimon. Not even worth the effort to punch, but enough to talk some sense into, his way. This included a long, expletive filled rant about how to not be a nuisance to anyone and still be able to play their stupid ass gang war or whatever it was back in old Terminus. Boss was quite surprised when they all stuck around to even listen, but he chalked it up to them being too scared to leave. The instant he did finish, they took to the streets like Bakemon being banished.
“Tell your dumbass friends about the Dragon’s Roar Inn, and remember to keep your crappy games off my property, I got a business to run!” Was the last thing he got to say before they ran off into the city depths. With a sigh, Boss rolled his eyes and stepped out into the mostly empty streets. Walking back to the hotel, the large, burly dragon man frowned. He was hoping to burn off some steam and fight, but it didn’t even amount to that. If anything, he was getting antsy to tussle. “Maybe I should enter that tournament thing…get my name out there and bash some heads in.” he mumbled to himself.

K was a touch tired when it came to how today had already decided to play out. She had spent a vast majority of the early morning walking around putting up posters and handing out pamphlets. The shutmon had made several stops in several different places to do so even if it hadn't yielded more than a few odd stares and a couple ducking heads as many individuals seemed to think she was with luminas.
It made sense to her considering the stark white fur, the red cape and the holy symbols of jesmon on either shoulder replacing her natural Shutmon ones. Even her lighter than average clothing probably wouldn't of helped. Though that didn't really stop her from trying; but once people stopped showing up around where she was made the digimon a little frustrated.
To her terminus was this big place that she would never understand, after all the last time she was properly here was well over forty some digital years ago back when the trailmon stations were getting properly set up. Before that it was when this place was still a small city in comparison to the metropolis it was now.
She kept getting turned around and kept ending up in the same few spots that she had already put up posters or handed out pamphlets to those samey few individuals. Blank stares and wide eyes were all that greeted her every time she came around a corner. However when a new batch of individuals came running around the corner laughing and playing with one another she took the time to move out of the way. Her ears flicking in curiosity as she could hear a spread conversation between the lot of them.
Something about a older looking dragon digimon, some place called the Dragon's Roar inn and how they should probably tell their friends to keep away from it unless they wanted to pay to stay there for a night or something. Those ears perked a little bit and the shutmon found herself grinning slightly. Inn's were good places to put up posters or put some pamphlets out. After all she couldn't do all the leg work for recruiting and if more knights came to her from far reaches well... It'd be better for her!
Calmly she'd inquire to one of the locals about this Inn; getting some confusing directions she'd ask for a better description of the place before simply taking off from the middle of the street hopping over buildings in easy bounds as her flight made travel simple if not a little over the top.
Two or three minutes later she landed next to the inn in question; sizing it up and appreciating it for a few long moments. It was very different than hers built in the city it'd always have that city flavor right? Or at least... maybe she was reading too into it but the Shutmon gave a soft sigh before pushing open the door curiosity spreading on her face as she gave a greeting along with her entry.
"Hello? Is this the Dragon's Roar Inn?"
Other than a place to put out her pamphlets or posters this would also probably be a good place to rest for the night while she talked more to individuals living within the city. That and getting supplies here would be a thousand time easier than in the middle of no where.

WHO'S THE BOSS?
I AM.
( tag: none ) With nothing else left to do, Boss turned, adjusting his cap and began walking back to the inn. Nothing else seemed to be going on lately, so it was a good idea to just play observer to his staff and just see if anyone needed help around the place, or try to convince folks to come on in should they wished. His little outburst hopefully did just that if anything else. The large dragon Digimon finally arrived back at the two story sized building, and someone else in front of the door. The dentoryumon raised a brow before grinning.
He’d never seen this Digimon before. The large, metal strapped canine seemed to be looking around for something, or perhaps for someone. They slowly stepped inside of the inn, which made Boss grin wider. New folks were the best kind to have. He sprightly followed suit behind them until he was at the door himself. He re-buttoned his uniform -the ones at his chest always have a habit of loosening- and tapped the shoulder of the canine in front of him, offering a grand smile and a tip of his hat.
“Yes, and I’m the handsome owner of this place,” Boss greeted. The staff wandering about doing their daily duties, especially the Shoutmon at the desk and the various other ones gave him a well rounded greeting of “hey Boss!”
The musclebound dragon gave a quick wave before turning his attention back to the new Digimon / possible new patron. “What can I perhaps do you for? Were you looking to stay for a night or two or just looking about?” he asked with a bright grin, closing his hands together as well. He never had much time with customers face to face, but when he did, it was always a sort of odd 180 for the Shoutmon manning the clerk desk. The years of business made Boss into the kind of person who would probably curse you out in the streets, but be sweet as day if you had any inclination of giving him any type of work.

If there was one thing she could respect about establishments it's how they usually kept their entryway. It would tell you a lot about the place really. Most good establishments kept these places clean, orderly and had people around to deal with customers. Rubbing her muzzle thoughtfully as she stared inside; uncertain for a few fleeting moments before she felt a tapping on her shoulder.
Turning her head she was greeted with the view of a digimon she had never really seen before. It was completely new to her in every sense of the word and she'd blink a few times as the gentlement introduced himself. Cracking a small smile she'd dip her head in a nod flicking an ear as she could hear some of the staff greet their boss.
Well she assumed that they were just calling them boss and that their name wasn't actually boss. If it was though she would be one to talk considering that her name was a single letter!
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you then Sir."
She'd give a half bow while creating enough space between them where it wouldn't be in that awkward middle ground of meeting new people. Flicking her ear she'd pause to consider what he asked before briefly pulling out the pamphlets that she had intended to ask if she could leave at the front desk.
"Well I do plan on staying for a week here in terminus while putting out posters and pamphlets. Along with other business ventures. I'd like to look around if you don't mind? I used to own a business much like this over in the eastern timberlands myself so naturally I'm a touch picky."
K glanced back inside staring quietly at the staff as they went about their business before turning her attention back to the owner of this establishment. She'd flash a small smile and rub the back of her neck.
"I don't think this place was around last time I was in Terminus, is this place newer? If not I wouldn't really be surprised. I wasn't terribly well traveled until just earlier last year."

WHO'S THE BOSS?
I AM.
( tag: none ) The Dragon’s Roar Inn was very orderly, but it gave off the vibe of a place you’d find in, say the human world in older times. His master’s aesthetic and sense of fashion was what mostly drove Boss to design the place as he did. While it gave off a comfortable vibe, it looked more like a modernized dojo right down to the flooring. Since most Digimon were barefoot, it didn’t do anything to have matting like that as long as it was kept clean at all times should it be raining or any type of weather come by through the mega city. The dentoryumon nodded and kindly tipped off his hat once again.
“Please, call me Boss. Not as an employee, but more of an actual name,” he mentioned. The large, burly dragon adjusted his cape, stepping over to the side to get a better look at the canine, since they’d been staring at him for most of the time too. He wasn’t surprised, there weren’t much Digimon of his kind at all, or any for that matter. He tended to blame it on a digital shift way back when he was a kid since he ended up a Gaiomon all the same like his master, but a tad bit…larger in a lot of ways. He stood at close to ten feet tall, which made certain trips awkward, so he usually defaulted to Ryudamon except for business meetings where he needed to bring presence and intimidation for which he brought that in spades. Since he was already like this, it would have been expending more effort simply to change.
The metallic canine soon pulled out a few pamphlets, making Boss hum a bit. She -at least from what her voice sounded like- had plans to leave promotions about her own business here. She explained that she planned on staying for the week to drum up some new customers and noted how this place was new in all senses of the word since they run a place in the Timerblands. He’d never been there himself, but Boss nodded all the same with a grin.
“Ahh, I get ya. Well, you’re free to look around as a potential patron and as a likeminded ‘mon. We actually opened up this place around half a month ago after our successful start in Rustport where a few other employees of mine are which is why I’m here keeping this place tiptop. Expanding here has had it’s…issues,” Boss remarked, snorting a huff of hot air from his nostrils. He remembered back when he had to deal with that power hungry Astamon when he first tried, so he had to look else where lest he be under his thumb and never make a profit. “I’ve been around since Terminus was a dinky little place compared to what it is now, but I’ve always learned to keep an eye out for things which helped me start up here. But as you can see, we're doing well for ourselves,” He explained.
The large orange dragon soon stepped in front of the Shutmon, his thick scaled tail swishing about behind him. "If you want to stay, just talk to Sid over there, he'll handle the whole thing no issue. If ya don't mind my asking, what do ya do for work?" |

The shutmon could appreciate this place far more than she could others. It pained her to admit that she could also appreciate it more than her old inn before it had burned to the ground. There was a certain knack that the city variants had that you just couldn't get out in the middle of no where. Flicking her ears forward as the dentoryumon asked her to call him boss; more of a name than an actual title as she didn't work for him. Giving him a small smile she'd simply dip her head in a nod; taking the cue that she should also introduce herself.
"Well you can call me K. It's a pleasure to meet you Boss."
The shutmon shifted and inspected the digimon in front of her. There were similarities to digimon that she knew of and digimon that she had interacted with. Still she couldn't exactly put her finger on which ones that would of been the case with. This digimon was also a good two feet taller than her which was more of a surprise. It made her have to tilt her head to just make eye contact. If she didn't know better this digimon was probably from wilder places where they grew bigger than life!
She wasn't able to tell right away what the other was thinking when she told them of the pamphlets. The hum made her feel like that would be an unwise move but at the same time... well. The shutmon considered it briefly and simply deigned to give another somewhat cheerful smile.
"Thank you. Really? It certainly looks like it's been here longer than that but... Perhaps I'm just bad at seeing the difference in larger cities like this. A successful start in rustport? That must of been difficult to get off the ground I know a few mons that had their business collapse in on themselves there. What sort of issues?"
The shutmon tilted her head slightly as Boss huffed some hot air from his nostrils. She was honestly unsure what kind of problems you could have in the larger cities as she was the sort that grew up and had lived in the middle of no where.
"That's good that you're doing well for yourselves; a healthy business means a healthy community right? You've really been around that long? That's... really rare to hear actually."
K blinked owlishly and then flicked her ears turning her head to look at the individual she figured was Sid. There was a few moments pause and she'd gaze back up at the dragon, he was a good few feet taller than her making her feel somewhat smaller than she was used to. Scratching her head she'd smile and look down at the pamphlets. She even went so far as to offer him one. It wouldn't take much of a look to see that these weren't for a business.
They were recruitment pamphlets.
"I'm the head of a Group of Knights out of Rosewood. Just recently started so we're trying to get members. Only a handful of us for now. But our goals are fairly lofty. Safety of the digital world, protecting innocents from major threats like these Spires or elemental orbs. And if we're unlucky enough to have a Dark area incident on the mainland the D-reapers. Along with general safety of course. So it's a busy sort of work but... I think it's worth it."

WHO'S THE BOSS?
I AM. ( tag: none ) Alright, so K was her name. Boss tucked that in his mind and listened to her explanation. She seemed surprised that the place looked so new, but that was mostly because it’d been open for a few months at best, while the old place was already established for a much longer time. The inn at Rustport took a long while to get started if only because Rustport itself wasn’t a terribly lively place, but the Digimon who came from the Valley always provided good customers if only because he was born there and understood what you needed to get out of there if you were lucky enough to survive. A little place to call home and you could always go back once you wanted to get up and get out into the world was all you needed sometimes.
Boss stepped to the side to let her start exploring about the lobby freely; there was the clerk table, other Digimon running about to do their work and set of stairs and hallway leading to the various empty and occupied rooms both on this floor and upstairs. However, before she would do so, she decided to ask what sort of issues he had, which lead him to sigh. Not out of annoyance or anything, but sheer memory.
“Well, for starters, older Terminus had a bit of a…gang problem, as I would call it. Protection fees, all that crap and political corruption. Least before it became what it was today, which made it incredibly easier for anybody to start up here.” Boss surmised it. “Like I said, been around a long time and didn’t really come here until all that subsided and never really cared about other stuff when I got my own stuff to run. Rustport was a crappy start, but when you know folks who need a place to stay for the simple price of labor, you make things work out. Helps when you put in a little bit of elbow grease too.” The uniformed dragon smiled, patting a raised arm gently. Even with that, you could see the sleeve of his uniform near bursting with size.
Once she got to explaining what the pamphlets were for, that was when Boss laughed a bit. It wasn’t malicious or an attempt at being rude to her, but the concept of trying to protect the world was something he hadn’t heard in a long, long time. While he had his nose to the dirt and had an idea of the goings on in the world, Boss wasn’t the type of person you’d find in the forefront of all that nonsense, he’d be where he was protecting what he can, nothing lofty as that.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to laugh. I just haven’t heard that in a long, long, long time.” Boss said. “You seem like the dedicated type, so I wouldn’t tell you weren’t up to such a big task. Just that I’ve seen Digimon and humans like that come and go, and when I think like that, it’s got me realizing how freakin old I am. Best I can say is good luck.”

To her surprise the other seemed to take her introduction and name in surprise. Many people now days seemed to be surprised that she had a single letter for it. There had been a few times where she considered calling herself something else but she didn't know what really.
K had only been to rustport once and for such a short amount of time that she didn't really remember much from there. If there was an inn there much like this one she could probably rely on it being active and having a good customer base. Which also meant another place that she might be able to put pamphlets or posters up around it.
Nodding her head a little bit as Boss started to explain out what had been the problems that the group had experienced while exploring the lobby with a curious look on her face. Her lobby had been mixed with what amounted to a restaurant so seeing something else was slightly jarring but easily acceptable. Flicking her ears she'd gaze at Boss her brows furrowing a little bit.
"I could imagine that it would; I never was around as much so I never really got introduced to it. If it's changed from all of that it's for the better I'd say. You made a good choice starting elsewhere even if it was a poor start."
The shutmon looked extremely curious for a moment as the dragon raised an arm. The sheer size of the dragon made the uniform seem as though it was going to burst but simply didn't. Was that for show? Or perhaps something else entirely?
K blinked a few times however when Boss laughed at what the pamphlets were for. She'd rub her muzzle awkwardly wondering if she had said something amusing. But she didn't detect anything that was per say rude or malicious. Then of course he started to explain himself.
"It's quite all right. Not many people are willing to try to go for that sort of thing anymore; so it's not surprising to hear that. I appreciate your honesty on that regard. I can only imagine how many people you've seen go from one place to another."
The shutmon paused for a few moments eyeing the other digimon for a few long moments furrowing her brow slightly before chuckling.
"Well thank you. You? Old? You seem a lot younger to me Boss, No offense meant of course."

WHO'S THE BOSS?
I AM. ( tag: none ) Boss was a bit thankful K didn’t take his explanation the wrong way. He’d seen his fair share of those that wanted to be heroes and never really saw them again, so he could only assume that they failed or their group never got started. He didn’t judge them for that -maybe a little bit-, but if they tried, that about the best they could do. The dragon man just wasn’t into the mindset. He’d traveled for a long while before eventually deciding to find work and got the strength to defend himself, his work and the -if a bit stupid- ones he calls his family, that was good enough for him.
Regardless, it seemed K was totally okay with it, and then started chuckling over something else herself. She’d apparently assumed he was much younger, to which he didn’t mind at all. Boss simply rolled his eyes and tipped his hat. “I’ll take that compliment, thank you. I’d like to think I’m aging gracefully despite my…other vices.” He alluded.
“But yeah, I’m actually pushing about four digits if I had to put a number to it. If that’s young, I’ll damn well take it!” The burly dragon man said heartily. “Like I’ve said, I’ve been around for a long while. Seen some folks I’m pretty sure are dead that were doing what you’re doing, and with varying success I might add to it. I still remember meeting this one guy when I was nothing short of a thug trying to get around. Wanna think he did some good, but if I almost beat him at my worst, then I ain’t so sure about that.” He shrugged.
“But anyways, enough about me,” Boss finished. “You’re free to put up your pamphlets on the board next to Sid over there-“ he gestured a thumb over to the Shoutmon now jamming out on his headphones while sitting down. “I am curious though; how much are YOU pushing? Like I said, I’m sure you’ve got the chops for this, but you said you haven’t been traveling. Pretty sure I’d run into someone like you at some point if we’re both still kickin.”
